For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Obesity runs on my father's side and my weight gain has been a lifelong struggle. I did my best but by reaching 275lbs at 50 years old I knew I needed something more than all the traditional weight loss programs. I began taking Mounjaro in Nov 2022. My doctor did a low dose to start (1.5 mg). I experienced the more common side effects, sulfurous belching, heartburn, constipation for a day or two after the weekly injection, stomach feeling sour, etc. I manage these symptoms with my doctor's OTC recommendations. We advanced to a 5.0 mg dose and I continue to experience these side effects but they are becoming more manageable. It's the end of April and I've lost 40 lbs so far. I have more energy, manage my diet better/easier, and make better eating choices. I have just begun to experience hair loss and after reading the other reviews feel better knowing it too will pass. Please know your reviews including side effects, successes, and thoughts have been a huge help. ~Thanks"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am starting my 3rd month on Mounjaro. I have been overweight/obese most of my adult life. I have lost some weight but not as much as I expected. I feel terrible - I suffer with exhaustion, constipation, indigestion, depression, and nausea. I just do not feel good. It has sucked the joy out of my life. I used to exercise much more when I was not taking Mounjaro. I don't want to do anything. I am wondering if it is worth it?"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am currently on day 2 taking Mounjaro injection 2.5. I have definitely lost all cravings to graze on food throughout the day. As a chef, this is great and very positive. I have no side effects so far, apart from feeling thirsty and drinking plenty of water."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "6 weeks, 10 lbs down. I love this. It's better than the sleeve surgery that I also had because it not only fills you up with a few bites, but it completely eliminates the food obsession. You don't even think about food."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Done well losing weight but aware that I'm losing lots of lean muscle mass, not just fat. Lilly says in one clinical trial that 1/3 of the weight we lose is LMM, not fat. Might be more than this. I have a sense that the muscles in my legs are weak. A bit wobbly. They are very strong -- I can power walk for miles. I can do heavy weight-bearing exercises at the gym. But still some sense of weakness. Might it be a nerve issue, not a muscle issue? I am stocky. A tall friend of mine on Mounjaro had none of the feeling of weakness even though he lost 100 pounds. BTW, it's crucial to take a body scan before you start Mounjaro to assess your LMM and assess how much LMM you're losing."

"My doctor recommended it for weight loss. I've lost 14 pounds. I have very little appetite and no cravings. I didn't lose any the first month because I think I didn't eat enough and my body. Either way 14 pounds in 2 months is a lot. I have had to work crazy hours so this is with no exercise."

For Diabetes, Type 2 "I started taking 2.5 in January. It worked well to level blood sugar. I did not feel hungry at all, and I had to think about eating and drinking. When I did eat, I chose no greasy foods at all. On one occasion that I had something greasy, I had sulphuric burps. I do have to make sure to drink water, tea, and a new favorite diet tonic water with a splash of juice. I lost only five pounds, so my doctor increased the dose to 5mg. I feel full now, not to eat large meals but have had only one slight side effect, constipation, so I eat some prunes and no problem. I am losing weight slowly, and that is okay; it’s not why I took the drug. Do not eat greasy food and see how you feel."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "In about 2 months, I lost 18 pounds on Mounjaro 7.5. The only side effect I had was constipation, which was easily relieved by MiraLax and some extra water. It was so easy to use. I am happy with the results! The downside is the killer-high price."

"My doctor prescribed Mounjaro after seeing my weight increase. First, I am a bariatric weight loss patient-6 years out. I lost 80 lbs after my surgery and gained 30 back since. So yes, there is reason to be concerned. The month supply of 2.5mg dose produced a 5lb weight loss and my appetite was suppressed somewhat. But more noticeable, is the craving loss. They completely went away. I'm anxious to see how the 5mg dose works. Some annoying side effects but nothing drastic so far. Light nausea and diarrhea (subsides somewhat following the first few days after dosage). It took me a bit of time to get it together and start making healthy choices. I was in a very stressful work environment and chose to retire a little earlier than planned. Now, I work part time from home now so I can take care of myself better. That's just me...I get overwhelmed and spiral. But even seeing this small amount of weight loss from the 2.5 dose has given me lots of hope and motivation!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Been on Mounjaro since 9/11/22. Today is 3/4/23. I have lost close to 60 lbs and went from a pant size 46 down to 40. Wife says I “lost my tire” looking at me from behind. Started at 2.5 dose. Was dizzy and unsteady in the early days. Headache and nausea till my body acclimated. Switched my shot day to Friday night so if I’m not feeling great it’s the weekend and not impacting work. Worked up to 5.0 then 7.5. Did each for 8 weeks instead of 4 to level off the side effects. Wanted to stay at that level but no one can get it. Took my first 10.0 shot last night. So far so good. All my levels are great. Sulfur burps if I overeat. Am also doing herbal life shakes 2 times a day and having a sensible dinner. I still snack after dinner but nothing crazy. Exercise 5/6 times per week. I think 7.5 should be my maintenance dose but again, no one can get it. Will trade the mild side effects for being able to fit into my clothes."

For Diabetes, Type 2 "My doctor recommended Mounjaro, I objected because of previous experience with side effects from Byetta, Victoza, Trulicity. He said the side effects were mild. I agreed to try 2.5, that was a horrible decision! My heart rate elevated, pulse, blood pressure increased, couldn’t eat, diarrhea, vomiting, loss of sense of balance. When to doctor 2 days later & I was so dehydrated I required 2 1/2 bags of IV solution to help me drive home. I can’t remember ever being so sick. I will never take again or recommend to anyone!"

For Diabetes, Type 2 "I have been on Mounjaro for 9 weeks. I had to jump from 5 to 10 mg last week due to shortage issues. I am having several problems with severe bloating, constipation, headache, and stomach pain. I have severe gas that keeps me up most of the night and can be a sign of impending intermittent diarrhea at times. I am always full and started pushing myself to eat as I can go all day with nothing. Now I have small welts and itching at injection sites. Total weight loss “0”. My blood sugar is higher especially in the morning. This drug is horrible and I won’t put my body through it anymore. I can lose weight easier and healthier than this since it ruined my Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Eve. I was so excited to try it and have hope. I’m thankful for all those who are benefiting from it. Good luck to all. It just wasn’t for me."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have had great success with Mounjaro. I switched from Ozempic and the weight just started falling off. I feel like something was broken in me that is now fixed. I normally lose about 2 lbs a week on a 1200 calorie diet. My weight loss has gone from 2 lbs a week to 4-5 lbs a week. I don't understand how it works but I'm happy with my results."

For Diabetes, Type 2 "I started Mounjaro 7 weeks ago. The first shot made me so nauseous and have such bad abdominal pain that lasted for 12 hours I almost went to the ER. Told my doctor about my experience and she gave me zofran and told me to continue dieting. Fast forward to this weekend- took my shot on Friday morning then spent all day Saturday and Sunday projectile vomiting (it literally ended up about 7 feet from where I was standing), uncontrollable diarrhea, disgusting sulfur burps, horrible heartburn, and dizziness. Finally decided to go to the ER and got treated for dehydration. They told me to follow up with my primary doctor to talk about the best way to continue the medication. After this experience I am NEVER taking this drug again. While I've lose 25lbs in the past 7 weeks I believe its mostly because I've been afraid to eat anything. I will continue to eat healthy and cut carbs and sugars but I won't be taking Mounjaro again."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I've been a yo-yo dieter for as long as I can remember. This is by far the best thing I've tried. I lost 11 lbs in the first week - this really does work to decrease your appetite! My diet doctor gives me injections, and told me to follow what is essentially a keto diet (no carbs or sugar - 8 oz of protein and as many veggies as you want), in conjunction with intermittent fasting (16 hours fasting, 8 hrs allowed to eat). There is NO WAY I'd make it through 16 hrs of not eating without this!! I feel very slight nausea sometimes after I eat, but not enough to affect my day-to-day activities. This is a game changer if you have struggled to lose weight as I have!"

For Diabetes, Type 2 "As of today 9/5/2022, I have been on Mounjaro for 5 weeks. I have experienced upset stomach, nausea, weakness, tiredness. I am on 2.5 mg. Hoping symptoms start to disappear. I am a Type 2 diabetic, and the pills didn't seem to help. I am in my 60s so was wondering if that mattered. I'm not sure. I would like to continue the Mounjaro, but if side effects persist, I may have to try other options."

For Diabetes, Type 2 "I started at 373 pounds type 2 diabetic. My blood sugar was under control I was taking metformin for about a year. My A1c was around a 6. In 2 months time I've lost 65 pounds. I started with the 2.5mg, no side effects, moved to a 5mg had the suffer burps that folks are eluding too but nothing else. I went to the 7.5mg then moved to the 10mg. From about 5mg on I had to make myself eat and like others I started eating right. My energy levels are up. No vomiting or liver failure, thank God. I'm now currently on the 12.5mg. Other than no appetite no I seemed to have dodged the side effects. I'd recommend this to anyone it has done wonders for me."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have slowly lost weight. I have taken it 8 weeks, and have lost 18 lbs on the 2.5 mg dose. It makes me very nauseous, causes GI upset. But overall, I think slow weight loss is probably best anyway for long term."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I’m a 58-year-old woman. When I started Mounjaro I was at 172lbs. I am taking 5mg. On the first injection of 5mg I had hives but the next day with allergy medication it went away. I had a little bit of nausea off and on every time I took an injection. The worst part about this medicine is I feel cold all the time and fatigued. The fatigue goes away after a couple of days. I just took my 4th injection of 5 mg and will move up to 7.5mg next week. So far all good. I did notice I got pretty hungry 2 days before it was time to take my 4th 5mg injection which to me said it lost its effectiveness. I did struggle with those 2 days trying not to go back to old habits. I have lost 20 lbs since starting Mounjaro and all of my blood work is much much better. My A1C is down 2 points!"

For Diabetes, Type 2 "Hello world! I am a 58-year-old female. Type two diabetic. On September 27, 2023, I was taking 2 long-acting and 3 fast-acting insulin injections every single day. I was 5’4” and weighed a whopping 250 lbs! I started on 2.5 Mounjaro that very night. I did not experience side effects other than constipation. One month later I was down 25 lbs. I stayed on 2.5 the second month as well and lost another 20 pounds. Yes, I lost 45 lbs in two months! I was blown away! Today is April 27, 2024, and I’ve lost a total of 70 lbs. While the weight loss has slowed down, I am still losing. Things I’ve noticed are - I’m never tired. I’m always busy doing something and always have lots of energy! I’m never hungry. I feel better all the way around, even mentally! I don’t know the future effects of these meds, - and I do worry about the long-term effects; but then I ask myself, was pumping all that insulin into my body safe? Was taking metformin safe? Thank you, Mounjaro - you saved me!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I took my first injection on April 20 and the second injection on April 27. On April 20, I had shortness of breath which increased dramatically. Ended up in the hospital on April 22 for the day. Shortness of breath continued. Took another injection on April 27. That night I looked at my calendar and realized that I had done activities without shortness of breath the week of April 17, 18, and 19 with no problem. I took an injection at about 9 am on the 20th and was short of breath by 10:30 am that day. Endocrinologist says it takes 4-6 weeks to exit the body. My symptoms did NOT improve until the 4th week and then they have improved only slightly. I can't walk 40 ft without sitting down to catch my breath. Before the 4th week, it was 20 ft. Praying that at the end of 6 weeks, my breathing will return to normal. Also many instances of bp under 90/57. When this happens I am exhausted, have to drink 8-12 oz water, and lay down for at least an hour with feet elevated to get bp up to acceptable levels. No weight loss."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "The first month on 2.5, and it has been *very* effective. I selected weight loss above, but the real reason is I have been pre-diabetic for some time and the numbers are rising quickly. I am now extremely close to a diabetic diagnosis. It is hard to describe the change in food craving. It used to be as if my brain turned off when I was near food, so seeing candy in the drug store and buying and eating it were almost automatic, and I thought about it after I had bought the candy. Now I had a bowl of candy bars for Halloween and was not interested in eating one. I walked by it all day on Halloween and had no desire to eat it. This seems to work on food craving in much the same way Prozac works on mental obsessive negative thoughts. The only side effect I notice is a beginning tendency toward constipation. I am a bit needle-phobic, but the injections are sort of like a rubber band snap on the skin. It is extremely easy to use."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Let me preface this by saying I’m extremely sensitive to medication and have terrible IBS. Mounjaro was Godsent. I lost 45lbs in about 9 months on this. While I did have days of bad GI side effects, I could usually trace it to eating something I shouldn’t have. Gotta eat clean on this to avoid those side effects. Otherwise, I did great. I will say on day 2/3 after the shot, I was always really tired and cold. It always passed, but I still planned for it. Give it a go!"
