For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been on Mounjaro since Jan. 2023. I have lost 20 pounds. I need to lose 20 more. Side effects: burping, stomach upset, constipation, flu-like body aches, mildly depressed feeling, and fatigue. Not every day, not every symptom every day, and not all day. It comes and goes. I will continue but do wonder how it’s gonna go long term. I’m just sick of being fat."

"I started Mounjaro on July 1, 2022. I just turned 74 and was at the end of my rope with my obesity. I immediately developed a sour stomach/nausea and heartburn. But the wonderful side effect of having no appetite and not obsessing about food EVERY WAKING MOMENT was worth it. I still enjoy food, just eat less than half what I used to and no snacking. I lost 30 pounds in 2 months. I take one more injection (totally painless and easy to give) of 7.5 mg and then move up to 10 mg. My worst problem is terrible constipation. I’m working on it by using Colace, etc. but haven’t solved it completely. Since I’m on Medicare, I am paying THOUSANDS of dollars for this drug. So my savings account is decreasing but so is my weight. If I can afford it, I hope to stay on Mounjaro for one year. I still go to Weight Watchers and live by their eating plan which is very healthy."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started Mounjaro to help control my blood sugar. I had tried Ozempic and Trulicity and could not tolerate the nausea, sulfur burps, and stomach issues. Mounjaro has been life-changing. No bad side effects. I’m not hungry, I don’t have cravings, I’m losing weight steadily, and sweet desserts taste too sweet. Many people say they’ve had bad side effects with it. I say try it as it may work for you. Just like I couldn’t use other meds that other people love. For me, it has been life-altering."

For Type 2 Diabetes "For the most part, I’ve had no problems with Mounjaro. There is one traction, however, that presents itself. If I’m eating a meal and consume more food than I realize, I get pain right below my rib cage. It feels like a real upset stomach. From now on, I’m going to be very careful about the amount of food I consume!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "This medication has been a huge blessing in my life. Started at the lowest dose in August of 2022. Increased each month to the highest dose and have stayed there for 3 months now. It's May of 2023, and I have lost 80 pounds! I was pre-diabetic, depressed, and hopeless. I've had a bit of stomach upset, diarrhea, heartburn, gas... nothing terrible. But I feel so much better. My joints don't hurt hardly at all, I have more confidence to go places and talk to people and do stuff outside, and I even sleep better. I was looking into bariatric surgery before I found Mounjaro. I'm so glad I didn't have to do that."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Mounjaro has been a lifesaver for me. I am fortunate enough to not have many side effects. In the beginning, I would get gas and stomach cramping, but I have learned what foods seem to cause that and now avoid them. It is so nice to be able to get through the day with my brain not constantly telling me to eat."

"Have been on Mounjaro since July 15th for obesity. I am only down 8 pounds since then. However, I have no cravings, I do not binge eat, I do not overeat. You will learn quickly to listen to your body. If you overeat, you will regret it. Your stomach hurts and you get bad heartburn. I get really nauseated the first two days after my injections. I do not feel hungry for most of the day. I listen to my body when it is hungry and I eat. If I get nauseous, and I know I haven't eaten in a while, I go eat. I have heard about this app Methreesixty, and it shows your inches lost. This is a really helpful tool if you get discouraged, because you might not see it on the scale, but you will see it in inches with this app. I started on the 2.5 and then went up to 5, but I don't think it is doing much for me as I am really hungry the last two days before my next shot. My doctor has me skipping the 7.5 and going straight to the 10 mg. It really is helping me in other ways, I did not realize I needed the help."

For Type 2 Diabetes "As of today, 9/5/2022, I have been on Mounjaro for 5 weeks. I have experienced upset stomach, nausea, weakness, and tiredness. I am on 2.5 mg. Hoping symptoms start to disappear. I am a Type 2 diabetic, and the pills didn't seem to help. I am in my 60s, so was wondering if that mattered. I'm not sure. I would like to continue the Mounjaro, but if side effects persist, I may have to try other options."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I tried Wegovy and Ozempic with no results. My endocrinologist switched me to Mounjaro, and I have had fantastic success. In 18 months, I have lost 100 pounds. My A1c is normal. I’ve been off insulin for 5 months, and I feel healthier and more energetic. The only side effects I have experienced are usually the day after I’ve taken my shot, I have an upset stomach, and I am not hungry at all. Best of all, I can shop in normal sizes now instead of plus."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I am a 67-year-old Type 2 diabetic who has been on Mounjaro for about one year, and I am pleased to report that I have dropped from 350 pounds to about 310 lbs without any other diet or lifestyle changes. My A1C dropped from 9.5 to 5.8. Mounjaro is the only medication I take for my Type 2 diabetes. I am up to 7.5 mg/0.5 liters after starting on 2.5 and then moving to 5.0. The only real side effect has been stomach cramps for an hour or so per week. It has really helped me in so many ways. A fan, thank you, Eli Lilly."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have just started the smallest dosage of Mounjaro 2.5mg/5ml and just took my 3rd injection (so I am 17 days in). I have noticed a marked decrease in appetite and have dropped 6.5 lbs (which is pretty good since I started on December 17th, right before the holiday meals and treats). The only negatives have been minor stomach distress (but I had that issue prior to starting Mounjaro), and on day 16, I have had indigestion and hiccups, which I am still trying to calm down. The hiccups stopped, but the indigestion is lingering. The injections are easy and not painful. My daily finger prick to monitor my blood sugar is more noticeable, so don’t let the injections scare you away. So far, it seems to be working very well."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Once I started taking this product, I was able to get off Metformin and insulin. My sugar was never high during the time on Mounjaro, and I lost 30 pounds and felt great! There are side effects with a few stomach issues, but they are short-lived."

For Type 2 Diabetes "The first week I didn't see much. The second week, blood sugar was a little better. I didn't take it the second or third due to acute leg and feet swelling, which has never been a problem. Took many tests for artery blockage, every test my doctor could come up with. The swelling left as quick as it appeared. I got started back on Mounjaro, it started working with remarkable performance, with blood sugar at around 6.7 from the high 11s, but having a very upset stomach. Following week, very sick at stomach, headaches, I felt a lot worse. I may have caught a flu that has been going around. I normally do not have the flu. I don't know if it was the Mounjaro or flu, the symptoms were the same and did not have a fever. I am due to take the Mounjaro injection tomorrow. Haven't decided what to do yet."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "2.5 mg/wk for 8 months, went from 234 lb to 170. Had stomach cramps at first that worsened with a higher dose. The lower dose worked well enough. Have been off of it for 2 months with little change to established weight and eating habits, so far, no weight gain."

For Type 2 Diabetes "My dose at 2.5 mg was tolerable. Minimal side effects. 5 mg more side effects with nausea, sour stomach, gas. 7.5 mg has been a disaster. Heartburn. Headaches, lethargy, tiredness, no appetite, and need to force food on myself. Low blood sugar on CGM Libre2. I can't eat enough to get myself back to 90. I keep pegging 70 because I can't eat and am sick to my stomach all the time. My sleep is interrupted, and I must lie down constantly. I feel like I want to sleep all the time. Weight has dropped from 250 to 233 lbs, but if I can't get out of bed, what's the point? I will talk to my doc about going back to 2.5 mg for the A1C control, but this drug needs work."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started taking Mounjaro in November of 2022. I weighed in at 382 pounds at 6 feet even. Today is 8/1/2024, and I weigh in at 220 pounds. My A1C went from 7.6 to 5.4 in 8 months. I feel like a million dollars, and I had to go shopping for a whole new wardrobe, seeing as size 54 and 56 pants no longer fit; I am in 34 or 36 in waist, down from 5x shirts to 2x shirts. Jackets went from 60 R to 46 R. This medication has changed my life. I get an upset stomach in the mornings, but it usually dissipates in 2-3 hours. If this is the worst side effect, I can live with that versus not being able to walk from my front door to my parked car without being in pain or exhausted."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I am starting week three. As others have stated, it changed my relationship with food. I no longer focus or have cravings for salty and sweet, carbs, beginning day 3. No urge for late-night snacking. I can't eat carbs like potatoes or bread, or I get a stomach ache. A big improvement – I was so fatigued before, I could barely make it through the day, and now I have the energy to go into the pool and do some gentle exercising. I just don't get hungry. I was able to drop pop completely for water. I don't know what is in this medicine, but it really has made a profound impact on my life. I've lost 6 pounds so far, but it feels like I've lost a couple of inches in my clothes. Highly recommend."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I take this medication for my type 2 diabetes, but after 4 months, it has not helped lower my blood sugar. I have lost 25 lbs, but the cost is too high. It causes an extremely upset stomach for four days, but I feel better in time to take another shot. I am currently on 10 mg, but considering not taking it anymore."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I lost 9 pounds the first month, and apart from a slightly upset stomach and heartburn for a few days, I was fine. I moved up to 5 ml on week 5, and after a few days, I started to get cramps and then vomiting. I have had bright yellow, watery liquid diarrhea. I thought I needed an ambulance, the pain was so bad. I will not be taking 5 ml after this."

"I’m on 5 mg, and the good news is I am not hungry at all, as a matter of fact, the thought of food makes me sick. The bad news is get ready to feel sick all day, like nausea, upset stomach, dizziness, and extreme fatigue. Getting up in the morning, even after 8 hours of sleep, is a task."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Initially stomach upset. But that settled. Still had appetite on small dose, but at 7.5 ml dose is when I can see and feel changes. First dose at 7.5 ml vomiting on first dose, however, it has subsided. Weight loss apparent due to smaller portion sizes. Overall, so far so good."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been on Mounjaro for almost a year. Started at 194 lbs, now averaging 145-150 lbs. In the beginning, I had the usual gastro effects - upset stomach, diarrhea, and no appetite even for water. Despite eating low calories, I lost slowly, about 1 lb a week. I had no energy to work out. If I tried staying on lower doses to minimize side effects, then the appetite would come back. After a few months, the gastro effects mostly went away, and I am left with sulfur burps, fatigue, irritability, and a general meh attitude about everything. I am someone who I would say has an addictive personality, and addiction runs in my family, and this drug works on your reward systems as well, so I’m not surprised it takes away my motivation. Despite the bad, it’s the only thing that has worked for me for weight loss. Currently, I take the injection every 14 days to minimize side effects and also to keep it affordable. Doing this keeps me at the weight I’m at, which I would like to be about 10 pounds less."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Firstly, with all new drugs, there are side effects, which I knew way before I started the meds - okay, stomach aches and being sick are manageable and ease when your body gets used to the drug - while a lot of my friends on the drug say they are drinking double what they used to - I'm not. I will drink the recommended 2 liters a day, maybe a few glasses more, but not excessive amounts - I'm eating more fruit, which relaxes my stomach - I get cold a lot, and my diabetes has improved with a constant level of around 4 to 5 during sleep time - I'm not snacking as much, and yes, it's down to this new drug - started Mounjaro in Sept 24 at a starting weight of 16.5 stone, and after 5 months, I'm down to 13 stone - I've dropped a couple of chest sizes and from a 36-inch waist to a 32-inch - started on the low dose of 2.5 mg and currently up to 7.5 mg as with other conditions my GP holds at a level until he is convinced it's working before he signs off on increasing the drug - concerned about those who don't really need it."

For Type 2 Diabetes "This medication helps me to lower my A1C but gave me esophagitis, nausea, and a lot of stomach discomfort. I got up all to 7.5, and after the discomfort was really bad and not knowing what was going on with me, I got an endoscopy, and esophagitis was found; my doctor decreased the doses, but at the end, even the smaller amount, 2.5, gave me the same bad side effects, and she decided to remove it totally."
