For Type 2 Diabetes "I’ve been on Trulicity for 4 months now, and I’m telling you, it is horrible. I have gastroparesis and had my gallbladder out 6 years ago, so of course, all these gastric side effects hit me hard! Last week, I started with the violent diarrhea and vomiting to the point I went to the ER! Of course, my doctor didn’t know why I was so sick! Well, my A1C went from 11 to 9 with this med, and most of the time, it would linger at 230 BS all day, then spike on me at night. So, it wasn’t getting my numbers low enough anyway. The belching was so nasty, it also made me puke. I’m done with this drug. I’m going to cut carbs, sugar, and walk every day instead. I’m sick of being sick!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "Wanted to share my experience - I did not take this drug Trulicity - my mum did. My mum took this drug for approximately about 6 months and she lost a lot of weight, however, she seemed to get quite a lot of abdominal pain. One night she had to come home from work - she was in severe pain in her stomach, vomiting, and sweating, and ended up in A&E. Turns out she had severe acute pancreatitis - she spent nearly 4 months in the hospital. She had necrosis of the pancreas and had most of her pancreas removed. She was extremely ill. She died from clots and a stroke in the end. I am convinced this was started from Trulicity. DO NOT TAKE THE RISK, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS, STOP WHEN YOU GET SIDE EFFECTS! I lost my mum. I don't want anyone else to go through the same."

For Type 2 Diabetes "When I first started Trulicity, I thought it was the end of me. Between the diarrhea, vomiting, headaches, stomach pain, and loss of appetite, I could barely leave my bed. My physician said it would take time to improve, at least 4 to 6 weeks. He moved my dose to 0.75 mg, with no metformin. This drug changed my life."

For Type 2 Diabetes "If you want to feel like walking death, this monstrosity of a 'medication' is for you! I have taken 1 dose of Trulicity, 2 days ago...never again. Sitting on the toilet with explosive diarrhea & projectile vomiting into the tub all night long, my body is killing me, my head is pounding, I'm beyond bloated, the sulfur burps are ridiculous & I feel like I'm getting stabbed in the stomach. It is the same exact thing I went through with Ozempic...don't ever take that stuff either."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Trulicity was okay for the first few weeks with just some slight diarrhea and belching. Now I have been taking it for 3 months, and I just don't know if I can take it anymore. I have severe diarrhea and vomiting for 2 days after my injection, as well as weakness and dizziness. I just got my next 3-month supply and honestly can't afford to waste it, but I don't think I can handle this much longer."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Started on this medication only two weeks ago due to having an adverse side effect with another medication. According to my doctor, 'it's a great drug that will actually help you lose weight.' Sure, I have already lost weight, all due to having not been able to keep down a single bite of food. For the first day after my first dose, I noticed my body feeling sluggish and short-winded, then the nausea and vomiting kicked in. Hoping the horrific toilet bowl hugging would improve, I tried a second dose in week 2, but the result was only more praying to the porcelain gods. Now, I need to get off this ghastly med too."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I was on Trulicity for 6 months. The first 5 months, my symptoms were mild enough that I could manage them. Around 5 months in, I started getting extremely bloated, gassy, sulfur burps, extreme fatigue, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and headaches. I would get sick 2-3 days after my injection. Since stopping Trulicity, I've still periodically gotten sick (extreme bloating, gas, sulfur burps, diarrhea, vomiting, extreme fatigue). I've had my low-functioning gallbladder removed, and I've had an EGD done... and I'm still sick. Nobody can seem to diagnose or fix the digestive issues Trulicity has caused me. I've been off of Trulicity for 10 months. I'm at my wits' end. I wish these awful effects would go away for good."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started taking this medication last week, exactly a week ago today. It has been a horrible experience. The very next morning, I felt extremely nauseous and couldn't eat or drink anything throughout the day. I became so nauseous that I ended up getting dehydrated and started vomiting. I was sick all week long and almost went to the hospital every day. To be honest, I have had my fair share of long hospital visits and was hesitant to go to the emergency room. However, looking back, I should have been there multiple times this week. I'm not exaggerating. The fact that I am starting to recover from this sickness feels like a miracle. I became malnourished because I couldn't keep anything down, and now my body is struggling to absorb nutrients properly. As a result, I am experiencing shakiness, nausea, tiredness, irritability, and an overall horrible feeling that I can't seem to shake off. If you can, please pray for me. Thank you, and may God bless you. I urge you to exercise caution if you decide to use this medication and don't wait for the symptoms to accumulate. If something doesn't feel right, trust your instincts."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Injected myself for the first time on a Friday night. Feeling very pleased as my levels dropped to 7s. Sunday arvo out and about with hubby. Started getting bad stomach pains. Just before getting into the car, I started projectile vomiting. It wouldn’t stop. Very embarrassed as this was on the footpath and road, and people could see. Pain still very intense in my abdomen. Got home and still projectile vomiting. Doctor prescribed me medicine to stop the vomiting. That worked, but the pain in my abdomen just intensified more. Had foul sulfur burping as well. Later that night was fully constipated, but did finally manage to go. Thought yay finally no more pain. Wrong! 5 minutes later explosive diarrhea nonstop. I’m still in intense pain, still got diarrhea, haven’t been to work all week. Never ever have I felt such intense pain. Doctors daily and still no relief. WORST medication ever! Stay well away from this torture drug!"

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "My doctor injected me with a Trulicity pen on Friday in her office. As time has gone on, now Sunday, I'm so sick. I have severe abdominal pain, an extremely sick feeling, threw up once, have diarrhea, terrible sulfur burps, and gas. No appetite, which I suppose is a good thing to a point, but I'm scared to eat due to the nauseating feeling. Overall, I just don't feel good. I cannot wait for it to wear off. I will never take this medication again, these side effects are not worth it."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Nope! Trulicity is not for me! Vomiting every day multiple times, nausea, fatigue. I can't even lift my arm to brush my teeth or walk 10 feet without feeling like I'm going to pass out. Heart beating out of my chest. Only had one dose, never again. Poison!!!"

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I was prescribed this for weight loss, and it has been the worst thing ever. Bedridden and unable to work for 6 days now. Vomiting and diarrhea the whole day. Complete loss of control of my bowels. Unable to care for my kids. BP dropped to 74/48 at one stage, been to ED yesterday for IV fluids, but today it's worse than ever! Severe gastric upset, gas, pain, weakness, fatigue. Constant nausea that Maxolon and Ondansetron doesn't touch! I feel so awful! Don't risk this! I have heard of many now who have had these severe symptoms. I have not been this sick in 15 years! Diarrhea every 15-30 mins, using nappy rash cream on my bum now. Nightmare!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "The first dose I did okay with, but each dose after it seems to make me sicker. I usually start feeling bad within 24 hours of taking the shot. It started out as just a stomach ache. Last month, I got so sick. I thought I had food poisoning or the flu. It started with burping up a rotten egg taste. My body felt like I was on fire. I was so weak all I could do was lay my head on the trash can and wait to vomit. Then the diarrhea and stomach cramps came. I spent 4 days throwing up and running to the bathroom. I took my shot yesterday and today, the same exact thing happened. I'm so sick. Burping started around 2 pm, by 5 pm, I knew I was going to vomit. By 6 pm, I was vomiting, and I continue to throw up, and the diarrhea has now come as well. I haven't gotten violently ill every time I take the shot, but after two times, I won't be taking it again. I've never felt so sick in my life. My numbers didn't go down enough to make me want to continue on this medicine."

For Type 2 Diabetes "For the love of anything, don't take this if you can avoid it. I've taken Trulicity for 3.5 months now, hoping my body will somehow tolerate it. Not the case. I've lost over 40 lbs. I feel like I have food poisoning every day. Bloated. Diarrhea, constipation, horrid nausea. Now I am starting to vomit. Losing weight is good, but not like this."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Had my first injection on a Friday... projectile vomiting a day later along with extreme abdomen pain, sulfur burps, explosive nonstop diarrhea, blurred vision. Ended up in the hospital, not only had to be rehydrated, I was also given 2 potassium transfusions (which also are extremely painful). Day 7 and still having abdomen pain but not as severe. Horrendous stuff!!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started on Trulicity last Monday, and I've been sick as a dog ever since (it's now Saturday night). Within an hour of injection, I was retching at the porcelain altar. Sick to my stomach and stayed in bed the whole next day. Wednesday, I felt good enough to go to the gym and eat lightly, although I still felt slightly nauseous. Wednesday night, I woke up retching again. Sick all day Thursday, and I had a charity dinner to attend that night. Couldn't eat the dinner and went out in the lobby while others dined. Totally miserable! Friday, still sick and weak, foggy brained. Had an appointment with an attorney I was late for because of anal leakage in my khaki pants! Friday night and all day Saturday, I had intense stomach cramps and black liquid diarrhea. Leakage again, had to change pants. Drank half a bottle of Kaopectate, but can't stop diarrhea. I have a concert tomorrow, I don't know if I'll be able to attend."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I realize everyone's experience is different, but I was not prepared for this. Nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea 24/7. I have never felt so horrible in my life. It's only been 3 weeks. I can't live like this. I am missing work because I need to get to a bathroom constantly. I've lost 15 pounds. My aunt takes the same dose, and she has had no side effects at all. I am just praying it works its way out of my system soon."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on Trulicity for 12 weeks now. The first 2 weeks I was on the 0.75 mg injection, then went to 1.5 mg. The first 2 days after my injection, I am very nauseated and usually vomit around 4 a.m. My issue is indigestion, and of course, nausea and vomiting. I have found that eating no greasy foods, dairy products, and no eating past 6 p.m. has helped me tremendously in cutting down on the indigestion and nausea and vomiting. My blood sugars are doing great, and my A1C is coming down. I, like so many others, do not have an appetite, and I experience diarrhea often. I have lost 34 pounds so far. I am very happy with the medication, and just learning what you can and cannot eat is the key factor."

For Type 2 Diabetes "My husband was in a bad car accident, and the pain and stress caused his blood sugar to be very high. After 3 months, he was prescribed Trulicity to get it to come down. Well, he had stomach pains, nausea, vomiting, and decreased appetite, and he lost 30 pounds in 2 months. He was NOT OBESE! Now he is weak and still can’t eat, even after quitting it 3 weeks ago."

May sound stupid, but if you get sick, look to see what you ate that did not digest. A1C down, off of insulin altogether within first 2 weeks. Love it!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started taking Trulicity in June 2020, it has been a lifesaver. My A1C was 11, it went down to 5.9. I’ve lost 60 pounds, and it’s been great. Yes, I had a couple of times I threw up, but that was twice trying to get the right dosage. So, I’m still taking it, and I’m doing well."

I have had diarrhea for the last three weeks and started vomiting as of Saturday, December 12th, and I called my doctor up, she took me off of Trulicity ASAP, and now it's a waiting game for these awful side effects to go away. Eating little bits here and there and pushing in fluids, but hard to keep down. I will never go back on Trulicity ever again."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started Trulicity .75 on a Monday morning. I can say I just felt a little nauseous. Oh, but when Tuesday came, it was the worst day ever. I literally felt like my life was slipping away! There was abdominal pain, diarrhea, and vomiting-constant vomiting for a good 5 hours. It’s like it was trying to make me vomit until nothing was left, and when there was nothing left, I was vomiting bubbles! Literally bubbles and saliva. The burps are horrible, smells so disgusting. I guess I will play the waiting game to see what the rest of the week holds, but I am definitely not taking this again. Nope. If I would have stayed on, I’m pretty sure I could have lost weight, but nah, not worth it."
