For Birth Control "I have now finished my first month on Slynd. After not being on birth control for a long time (always had severe side effects), I took my doctor's recommendation for Slynd because my cramps were very painful, I had heavy clotting, and I found out I have an 'extremely thick uterine wall.' So far I’m not happy with how I’ve been feeling since taking this pill. I am going to try it for one more month since I have the pills already. I have started breaking out, which is unusual for me. I’ve already experienced some weight gain, and my mood swings are worse than normal. I’m lethargic and I have no sex drive anymore. I constantly feel bloated and dehydrated. I also have not had a period, but have had cramps during the time of when my cycle regularly is."

For Birth Control "Let me start off by saying, so far this pill has been the best type of birth control I have ever had. When I first started birth control I was younger and couldn't remember to take the pills. I was put on birth control to stop the heavy periods that were putting me in the hospital. Then I switched to Depo because it was easier to remember. I was on Depo for 6 years (horrible idea, wouldn't recommend). I was having so many issues with Depo (mood swings, weight gain, and excessive bleeding). So, my gynecologist switched me to Slynd, mainly because my mother had estrogen-fed breast cancer twice. Let me just tell you, the first two weeks of my new birth control I dropped 10 pounds. I have been on it 6 months now and I have lost 38 pounds since I switched. My moods are so much better. I am so much happier now and my sex drive has picked up also. I have no issue with bleeding too much, my periods last probably 3 days."

For Birth Control "I've been on Slynd for over a month, and I already hate it. I'm 35 and have endometriosis with horrible cramps that put me in the hospital. I was in pain a lot, so I wanted relief and a better quality of life. While this pill already relieved me of the terrible endo pain and 7-day periods, my moods are so bad! I cry... A LOT... and for no reason. I'm having more anxiety, and I feel depressed. Also, I have a headache every day and am SO thirsty, my eyes are dry. Sleep has been rough... I can't get a full night's sleep anymore. I get easily annoyed and angry, like I blurt out what I'm thinking because I'm so annoyed. Also, I didn't get my period the first month, but I've been spotting every day since I started taking it. Honestly, I don't know what's worse: the endo pain before Slynd or my mood on Slynd. I have a free 3-month supply, but I don't know if I can take it anymore. I think it's doing me more bad than good."

For Birth Control "I was prescribed this at the age of 32. Apparently, this is for those who are in their late 30s and 40s, also a hormone found in it that is used in HRT, all of which I only researched later. I had no idea that this pill was new. I had blown up in a matter of weeks, bloating that I'd never had before, horrific, felt pregnant 24/7, clothes didn't fit, constantly hungry and wanting to eat, always thirsty, dry, slightly bloodshot eyes, extreme mood swings, argumentative, fault-finding, angry outbursts, feeling low, sad, depressed, and awful breast pain, not even tender, SORE!!! Acne, blotchy skin, bad hair, fatigue, and severe backache. I feel like I'm constantly on the verge of a period I never get. Constant cramps. Worst pill ever. I'd rather have a migraine. Zero libido. I would not recommend this. Hormones are completely out of whack. Very expensive for terrible side effects."

For Birth Control "So this is my very first time trying hormonal birth control. I went to get a copper IUD originally but discovered I had uterine hypoplasia, so no IUD will ever fit my tiny uterus :( I was so worried about any pill due to physical and emotional side effects. I already have PMDD, bipolar II, and anxiety. I’m stable due to several antipsychotics and couldn’t imagine going “crazy” again. I also have large breasts and told my doctor I did not want them to grow…. He said he prescribes his patients sensitive to hormones Slynd. It also has four inactive pills each month, which I like. It helps keep things balanced for me. Before Slynd, I had terrible mood swings before my period and would basically rage. I feel so level-headed and “normal” now since taking this! I’m shocked! Zero weight gain, no breast changes, and I’m actually less bloated. Like what!? No acne or anything either. And my sex drive is actually better."

For Birth Control "On my fourth month of taking Slynd, and I can’t take it anymore. I need to call my gynecologist and see if I can just get off altogether. I was on Sprintec, but due to BP concerns, I was put on Slynd. I absolutely don't like this pill. I have had the WORST CYSTIC ACNE since I’ve been on this pill, and I’ve been to the dermatologist and spent a few hundred on some prescription topicals, and nothing is getting rid of this awful hormonal cystic acne. I haven’t had my period in about a month, so I guess that’s the only plus of this medicine. Lots of bloating, weight gain, and very emotional with this pill. I have never taken a mini pill, and I don’t think I ever will again!"

For Birth Control "I have been on Slynd for a few months now, probably around 7 months. My previous birth control pill gave me crazy mood swings and made my depression and anxiety worse, as well as making me extremely irritable. The first three months on Slynd were way better than my previous pill; however, I would experience spotting days or over a week before even taking the placebo pills. About 5 months in, I experienced breakthrough bleeding for 3 weeks. After that, it all went downhill. I find that at the end of the second week of my pack, my depression and anxiety hit an all-time high. Intense mood swings of high anxiety and vicious sadness hit and last until I take my placebos. Every pill affects everyone differently, but if you have a history of depression, anxiety, etc., you may want to use a different pill; I would not recommend this pill."

For Birth Control "I started this medicine to help lighten my periods. I started bleeding the day I started the pill and have been bleeding since - 2 plus months now. I've gained weight, and the mood swings/anger are off the charts. I would not recommend this to anyone. I'm done with it!"

"I've been on Slynd 4 mg now for almost 5 full months, and I have loved the results! The first 2 months, I didn't have a period at all. When I did have one, it was very light, with minimal cramping, although, I did have that light bleeding for about 8 days. The following period was 2 days and very light, with next to no cramping. I used to have debilitating cramps that put me out of work for a couple of days and very heavy bleeding, so this has been a life changer for me. I haven't had any PMS symptoms, like food cravings, mood swings, or fatigue either. I hope this helps other women the way it's helped me!"

For Birth Control "Horrible! Previously, I had Mirena (3 times) with minor issues that I didn't think outweighed the benefits. I have 3 children and wanted to try regular birth control. I started with Northindrone because I wanted a progestin-only option. However, I got off it after 6 weeks due to severe mood swings and no change in my period. Then I started Slynd. Mind you, the goal was to get rid of PMS and heavy bleeding. I started Slynd about a week before my period was due. In the first few weeks, I didn't experience any significant side effects. However, my period started one day late (despite not taking the green tablets, so I shouldn't have had one at all), and it lasted for 16 days. After that, I started another period just 3 weeks later, and I'm currently still on it. During the entirety of this time (3.24 packs), starting from about a week before the 16-day period, I have been plagued with intrusive thoughts of harm, daily severe anxiety and panic attacks, constant mood swings, irritability, and crying. Additionally, I have experienced a loss of sex drive, extreme hunger (resulting in a 3 lb weight gain), cravings, general exhaustion, breast pain, and bleeding. I have made the decision to go back to Mirena on Thursday. My advice is to stay away from Slynd!"

For Birth Control "Avoid this birth control at all costs. I took it for two months and experienced weight gain, headaches, and significant hair loss. My mood swings were severe, and my sex drive disappeared completely. My period became irregular, and after taking this birth control, it stopped altogether."

For Birth Control "I have been on Slynd for 7 months now. Previously, I have had Nexplanon for 3 years. I liked it, but I did not get a new one inserted because I was tired of the irregular bleeding. I tried the NuvaRing but only kept it in for a week because I was having horrible mood swings and suicidal ideation. I really wanted a regular period, which is why I chose this pill. While I like Slynd, I have not had a single period since I started using it, which kind of freaks me out sometimes, so I have a 100-pack of pregnancy tests on hand just in case-thankfully, none have ever been positive. I also sometimes miss a pill, and that has never been a problem. I have occasional light cramping. I haven’t really noticed a difference in my mood, skin, or libido either."

For Birth Control "I will never take this again. I started 2 yesterday, and my mood has been horrible. I have been snapping at everyone, being rude and screaming like a banshee since I started taking this pill and having bouts of crying after snapping at everyone in the house over the most silly, tiny little things when I am usually calm. I have been having intrusive thoughts and nightmares that have basically scarred me, and my anxiety and depression have just gone downhill. I have 0 motivation to do anything and just sit on the couch all day. My experience was horrible, and I can't wait for the side effects to go away. I would rather be anemic and bleed heavily than be like this."

For Birth Control "I have been on Slynd for almost a year now, and I love it. Unfortunately, I have to move to a new BC because my insurance doesn’t cover it. At first, I never got a period, but after 3 months, your body gets used to the pill. My period would be spotting super light for about 3 days. At first, I had mood swings and loss of sex drive. Once your body gets used to it, it’s really a great pill."

For Birth Control "I stopped birth control for 5 years. We are trying to have another child, but so far no luck. My periods started getting very heavy with lots of clots. So my doctor scheduled a procedure to look and biopsy my womb next month. I can’t get a period until then, so it started with a combination pill and my blood pressure kept going higher and higher. So he put me on this, my biggest thing is emotions! I’m going crazy on this pill like I never have before. I told my doctor I’m never doing this again. So this might be good for some, it seems to not be making my blood pressure rise, but I cry at the drop of a hat or get very upset easily. I have not had this much emotion in a long time. Can’t wait to stop it!"

For Birth Control "I started taking Slynd after experiencing migraines with auras on my previous birth control. At the recommendation from a nurse practitioner, I started taking Slynd. I only took the medication for about 2 months when I decided to stop. I was experiencing awful mood swings that were far more emotional than before, bad cramping, and consistent spotting. I know depression is not a physical symptom, but my depression was far worse and more frequent in episodes while I was taking this medication."

For Birth Control "I've tried a lot of different birth control pills and an IUD. I've always had irregular periods and bad cramps. My doctor thinks I could have endometriosis, so she suggested I try this last pill before proceeding with a laparoscopy. I hardly have any cramping since starting Slynd. I am on my third week of my second pack, and it seems to be helping the cramps. I started bleeding during the third week of my first pack and bled heavily for about 2 weeks. I finished the pack, and the bleeding stopped. In the middle of my second week of my second pack, my period started again. I've noticed more anxiety and mood swings. Also, what is up with this acne? I've never had acne in my entire life. Maybe a couple of pimples here and there before my period, but this is insane. I've already gotten this far, so I will finish out the 3 months."

For Birth Control "I started taking Slynd June 9th of this year. I am now at the end of my second pack, and so far I have no complaints. I was on a combination BC, Yaz, and then Yasmin for PMDD and abnormal bleeding. The estrogen was wreaking havoc on my body, so I had an endometrial ablation and then I started Slynd. The second week into the first pack, I bled like I was dying for 8 days, and now no breakthrough bleeding. I have maybe had one day since then where I had faint brown spotting for a few hours. I am skipping the placebos until the end of my third pack so that the medication has time to get into my body, but like I said, so far no problems. I feel better, mentally no mood swings, no acne, and no weight gain at all. I’m 34, my tubes are tied, so I am not using it for protection but for PMDD and period regulation. I really recommend this for women who can’t handle estrogen and are going through severe PMDD in their mid-30s because this has really worked well. I hope it continues to do its job!"

For Birth Control "Started this pill at the end of July and am now ending my 5th month with no period whatsoever. Have had a few breakthrough bleeding/spotting over the course of these 5 months, but nothing major. As far as mental symptoms go, I have noticed that I have developed severe depression episodes, and mood swings have been on a rollercoaster. Physical symptoms I have noticed are an increase in acne, specifically around the chin area, which I did not have before taking Slynd. I noticed weight gain in the beginning, which I am currently trying to work off... Personally, I do not recommend this birth control."

For Birth Control "I started using Slynd one year ago. Since then, I have not had a period at all. No cramps, nothing. Pretty happy with it. The only side effects I think I get from it are dry eyes and mood swings (but that could just be me, lol). Also, I'm over 40 and I smoke, so this was a no-brainer."

For Birth Control "This birth control is absolutely terrible. I have been taking it for 9 months, telling myself that the bleeding will stop. Each month, I bleed about 20 days/month. This cannot be healthy for my body. But, it's no wonder I haven't gotten pregnant - I can never have sex! The one positive: although the bleeding is fairly constant, there is no heavy bleeding. It's just enough to be incredibly annoying and interfere with a normal existence. On this birth control, my mood swings are unusually variable. Since taking this birth control, I feel overly sentimental and cry at the most benign things (e.g., a post on social media, a photo, a news story, etc.). It's been absolutely wild. I would not recommend this birth control to anyone who is in a relationship and looking to have a 'normal' sex life. Furthermore, if you are usually a sentimental person, this might not be the birth control for you. It definitely changes mood/emotions. After a (fair) 9-month trial, I am flushing the rest!"

For Birth Control "I love this birth control. The first two weeks, it was hard adjusting because I had mood swings. I dealt with spotting for 3 weeks. No changes in hunger, and I’ve been successful exercising and dieting on this medication within the last 6 months. Prior, I had no weight gain either, though. Definitely recommend!!"

For Birth Control "I was on a combination pill since 2014. I was switched to a progestin-only pill in 2018 due to having Factor V Leiden. That pill didn’t agree with my body due to horrible mood swings and heavy periods. I was switched back to the combination pill because it had been working. My doctor switched me to Slynd in 2020 because the combination had stopped working for me (heavy periods, cramping, acne). I liked Slynd at first, but I came off of it due to having no period at all, constant bloating, weight gain, acne, and cramping. I switched to another progestin-only pill in 2021, and my period has still yet to come back. I overall feel like the pill truly wrecked my body, and I haven’t felt right since taking it. I definitely do NOT recommend! My insurance also stopped covering this medicine, and it was $30 a month."

For Birth Control "The Slynd pill has been life-changing for me. I suffered from PCOS, acne, and heavy mood swings and had been taking several birth control pills that made me feel even worse. After taking Slynd for a few months, my symptoms almost completely disappeared. No more acne and mood swings - I feel so much better! I am taking Slynd now for almost a year, in combination with inositol, a natural supplement that also helps with my PCOS symptoms. I would recommend this pill to everyone suffering from this hormonal disorder. It's worth a try :)"

"Life changer. Wow. Before I started taking Slynd just over six months ago, the two weeks leading up to my period were so intense that I made a calendar entry for that time called “PRE-P!!” as a reminder not to make any important decisions or have critical conversations until my period came due to my increasingly insane mood swings. My period itself was super heavy with debilitating cramps, so I was basically left with about a week of relief each month, which sucked. This sounds nuts, but within days of starting Slynd, I felt my anxiety settling, and it’s maintained to this day. I’m grounded, steady, and focused. It’s crazy. Also, from the very first pill, my period just… stopped. No spotting, nothing. Good god, I thought I’d have to wait until menopause for that type of relief! For me, this has been a miracle drug. 10/10. 5 stars."
