For Birth Control "I've been on Slynd for over a month, and I already hate it. I'm 35 and have endometriosis with horrible cramps that put me in the hospital. I was in pain a lot, so I wanted relief and a better quality of life. While this pill already relieved me of the terrible endo pain and 7-day periods, my moods are so bad! I cry... A LOT... and for no reason. I'm having more anxiety, and I feel depressed. Also, I have a headache every day and am SO thirsty, my eyes are dry. Sleep has been rough... I can't get a full night's sleep anymore. I get easily annoyed and angry, like I blurt out what I'm thinking because I'm so annoyed. Also, I didn't get my period the first month, but I've been spotting every day since I started taking it. Honestly, I don't know what's worse: the endo pain before Slynd or my mood on Slynd. I have a free 3-month supply, but I don't know if I can take it anymore. I think it's doing me more bad than good."

For Birth Control "I started taking Slynd after Lo Loestrin caused me headaches and more frequency to urinate. After 2 weeks on Slynd, I started getting palpitations, chest pain... I went to the ER. They said I am having an extra heartbeat (PVCs), probably from the medication because I am very healthy. I do exercise every day, I don't take stimulants such as caffeine. I didn't do anything different those 2 past weeks. Now I am waiting to see the cardiologist and having almost 24 hours a day this weird sensation in my chest."

For Birth Control "I have been on BC pills in the past, I have always felt super nauseous and literally felt pregnant. I just had a baby 4 months ago, and my OB put me on SLYND right at my 6-week postpartum checkup. I have PCOS and suspected endo as well. He said this shouldn't make me feel ill. The first month was good, except I had breakthrough bleeding. I am now ending month 3 and going on BC permanently. My sex drive, which has always been extremely high and never affected on other pills, is literally at a 0! I am constantly bleeding, periods are SUPER horrible. I am nauseous every single morning that I wake up and have headaches all day. I also feel super moody, tired, and my 'always low' blood pressure seems to be on the rise. This just was not for me."

For Birth Control "I'm a month into using Slynd, and I have had no issues. Due to constant headaches and migraines, I switched from the combo pill to Slynd with the hopes it would help with my headaches. I've had no headaches since starting (although I have still had my usual monthly intense migraine, but I didn't expect birth control to fix that). My head feels much clearer (I'm not sure how else to explain it!) now that I no longer take a combo pill. If you have headaches/migraines and are looking for a birth control with no estrogen, I would highly recommend trying Slynd. I've had no acne, no spotting, no weight gain, and a drastic difference in the amount of headaches I have. We will see how the next few months go, but so far, Slynd has drastically improved my quality of life with no side effects."

For Birth Control "I had no previous information regarding this Slynd birth control before I started taking it. I really wish I would have done some research before starting, or that my doctor would have given me a heads-up on what to expect. I am on my first pack of Slynd. I have had steady bleeding for two weeks, with lower back aches, cramping, and headaches. I am on this to try and help lessen my period cramps/pain due to a lot of fibroids in my uterus. As of now, I’m really struggling on if Slynd is worth it. The doctor said to give it three months and then go from there. It feels so unnatural to be having a period for this long."

For Birth Control "I have endometriosis, and this pill was recommended to me because I was having a lot of breakthrough bleeding and spotting between periods, and I also have a history of cysts. I’ve been on many pills throughout the years, and this by far has been the worst experience. I would not recommend this to my worst enemy. I started bleeding immediately the first day I took it and never stopped for almost 2 months. The doctor said to give it 3 months for my body to adjust, but I couldn’t do it. I gave up about 2 months in because I was also having headaches, bloating, anxiety, trouble sleeping, and severe mood changes. I did not feel like myself and was either crying for no reason or raging in anger with both, not like me. I stopped at the end of December, and my periods have still been off. I bled from mid-January to mid-February, and now in March, I didn’t get my period at all. I suspect this is now my body re-adjusting from being off this pill, so beware if you’re going to try it."

For Birth Control "My doctor said that Slynd would be safe for my migraines and could potentially help with my PCOS. Five days in and a bunch of dehydration symptoms hit me like a ton of bricks, and I drink a lot of water to begin with! Excessively thirsty with no relief no matter how much I drank, frequent urination, headache, fatigue, dry mouth, cramps. It was so uncomfortable that I went to the ER. After blood work, my electrolytes were okay, but the doctor did confirm that Slynd is a strong diuretic and is causing me to feel dehydrated despite being hydrated. I felt so overwhelmingly uncomfortable that I decided to stop taking it. Although five days isn't very long, I didn't have any other symptoms. I looked at reviews of Slynd before I tried it and didn't see any pertaining to the very real potential of diuretic side effects that I had, so just a fair warning, though everyone's body is different and reacts differently! Just bummed it won't work for me."

For Birth Control "Right after starting Slynd, I noticed I felt off. My blood pressure went up, and I was very moody. It did help with my heavy bleeding after being on it for a while, but I continued to have a light period about every 2 weeks despite only taking the placebo every 3 months. I got very painful acne, awful headaches that didn't respond to anything, weight gain and bloating. I lost a depressing amount of hair, and I had no energy. I gave it over a year, and it never improved. Finally gave up. I've been off Slynd for 2 weeks now, my energy is back, my acne is clearing, and I'm down 5 lbs."

For Birth Control "Avoid this birth control at all costs. I took it for two months and experienced weight gain, headaches, and significant hair loss. My mood swings were severe, and my sex drive disappeared completely. My period became irregular, and after taking this birth control, it stopped altogether."

For Birth Control "I have taken Slynd for exactly one month as of yesterday. As for side effects, occasionally I get headaches, but nothing overbearing. I do feel nauseous at times; I think my body is still getting used to taking the pill. The reason I got on birth control was to regulate my periods. I have not taken birth control in over 5 years. I have not had any breakthrough bleeding! Thank goodness, but I am a little concerned because I have not had my period. I take the pill every day at the same time faithfully. I did read certain teas and herbal supplements can decrease the effectiveness. Licorice tea is my favorite, and I drink at least two cups a day. Also, I incorporate flaxseeds into my diet; sometimes I will take melatonin before bed. I really hope it doesn’t affect anything! Has anyone else heard about this? I plan on giving a complete review after the 3rd month. This will give my body time to adjust."

For Birth Control "I am halfway through my 3rd pack of Slynd pills, and so far, I really like this one. I was on norethindrone (Mylan) for almost a year and had headaches, weight gain, and mood issues. I stopped for a month, then got on Slynd. I started it the first day of my cycle. I started my second pack and had spotting for 2 days (I'm assuming it was a period) and slight cramps. My third pack, same thing, I had spotting the first day of the pack (when my period was to come), and slight cramps and felt like I had a period with mild symptoms. I'm hoping it stays like this, but I know I'm still adjusting. No weight gain so far, no acne, and my mood is much better than with my other pill. I get it through Nurx, and my insurance covers it, luckily, because so far, so good!"

For Birth Control "Absolutely awful. This is the first time I've taken Slynd, and it has given me nothing but problems. I have cramps every day. My headaches were the reason I had to change my meds, and they have gotten much worse. I'm so bloated and feeling icky. Not to mention, my irritability has never been this bad. It doesn't help that I've been bleeding every day since I've started this. 0/10. Would never recommend to anyone for anything. I wish I had never started taking these meds."

"Didn't work for me. Extremely heavy and prolonged bleeding for 21 days kept me unable to participate in life and led to serious anemia. My hemoglobin crashed from a very good 13.8 to a low 8.7 in just over two weeks. According to online calculators, I must have lost close to 1.5 liters of blood. Symptoms got worse and worse, I couldn't work, take care of the household, shop, or walk the stairs without dizziness, heart racing, nausea, and headaches, and went through immense amounts of hygiene products. My doctor initially did not take me seriously, saying there couldn't be a connection between the pill and this heavy bleeding. They finally took a blood test on day 16. I stopped taking Slynd on day 17, and two days later the bleeding faded and stopped. At that point, I was so mentally and physically exhausted, all I could do was sleep all day. Now slowly recovering with iron supplements, it will probably take another month or two to get back to my normal iron levels. Crazy."

For Birth Control "I've been on Slynd for two months, and I'm not happy at all. My emotions are all over the place, and I bleed for 15-20 days. The cramps and headaches are horrible. I'd rather not take Slynd. I stopped last night and contacted my OB."

For Birth Control "I wanted to love this, but unfortunately it made me so fatigued that even getting out of bed to the bathroom seemed impossible. It gave me a never-ending dull headache the entire time I took it as well. This was my second time trying this medication, and both times I had these same results."

For Birth Control "I was taking Errin and started to develop blurry vision and requested a change. OBGYN ordered Slynd. The pharmacy charged $45, which I read is illegal. The pharmacy said without the medical coverage, it would cost $200 for Slynd. I bought the pack in hopes it would be great. Two hours immediately after taking the pill, I became itchy on my nose, underarms, palms, vagina, and feet. I also got really sleepy. I woke up really refreshed, but 3 hours later had a headache all day. Well, for the next 4 days, the same thing happened (take pill, itchy, sleepy, wake up great, headache, repeat). My kidney also started to hurt in my lower back. I know it was my kidney because I have stage 2 low kidney function. So I decided to go see the OBGYN to discuss my concerns. According to the warnings on the pamphlet, this was not a good pill to be prescribed to me. At her office, I learned I was having high blood pressure, which was causing the headache. As soon as I quit Slynd, all symptoms were gone immediately within 24 hours."

"I've been taking Slynd for 4.5 months. So far, this has been wonderful! I had extremely heavy periods. I was bleeding for 12 days every month, and 5-6 of those I was changing a menstrual cup every 1-2 hours, even at night. My ferritin was down to 5. This was my last resort before I figured I'd end up with a hysterectomy. The first two and a half months, I had significant spotting and light bleeding. After that, nothing! No other side effects. My moods are stable. I don't have hardly any anxiety anymore. No weight gain. No headaches. I hope this continues to work this well. It's been a lifesaver!"

For Birth Control "Would not use ever again. The first month, I was severely dehydrated and got super constipated to the point I felt like going to the hospital. I also got itchy breasts. The second month (current month), I have been on my cycle for 19 days. The clots are large, some days are worse than others. Tired, depressed, snappy at people. I even feel like my heartbeat is faster. Don't take this. I wanted my cycles shorter. This is not helping one bit. I might have to switch back to my old one. Yeah, I had headaches, but at least I'm not going through a year's supply of pads in a month."

For Birth Control "I started taking Slynd for 6 weeks and 6 weeks ONLY. I had the worst headaches that have only just stopped, but were lasting all day, every day, like a premenstrual migraine. I've broken out in terrible acne all over my face. I never had one spot before and have never suffered from acne, thankfully, until now. I am starting to see acne on my chest and my arms too, so bad now that I'm going to see a dermatologist because it's making me self-conscious. I'm sure it takes time to get in your system, etc., but I didn't expect to have acne like this so soon. In all my years of birth control, this hasn't happened before."

For Birth Control "I've been prescribed many other forms of birth control and have experienced many varying symptoms throughout being on birth control. I started Slynd 2 months ago and have just started my 3rd pack. At first, the only symptoms I experienced were no period. However, I am now experiencing bad headaches that last almost all day, sometimes for several days in a row, that not even OTC NSAIDs will get rid of. I have been experiencing high blood pressure as well, which is a symptom I've never had with birth control before. Another issue that's recently started is really, really bad hot flashes. They hit me suddenly and last upwards of 30 minutes. I am 29 years old, so these symptoms are somewhat new to me. Overall, the only positive is that I don't have a period. Otherwise, I am not too happy about the bad headaches, extreme hot flashes, and high blood pressure that hit me out of nowhere. At this point, the cons outweigh the pros."

"I’ve tried many different birth controls over the years. All the other progestin-only methods (IUD, shot, implant) made my PMDD 100x worse 24/7, major water retention, spotting. I found little help with Yaz/Yasmin, they just gave me headaches. I have tried EVERYTHING, and nothing has worked better for me than Slinda. The first 3 weeks I had some light spotting, but by the second packet (skipping placebos), it’s completely gone. No cramps, no bleeding, and zero PMDD symptoms. I have no physical or mental symptoms on Slinda, and I’ve lost a couple of kgs because of the diuretic effect of this type of progestin. It’s expensive, but so worth it for me. My GP also mentioned she’s working with some other professionals to get it placed under the PBS (Australia). Long story short, give it a shot!!"

For Birth Control "I'm on day 8 of my second Slynd box, and so far these are the side effects that I experienced: - headache the very first days (when I started taking the pill) - bloating, constipation - dizziness, weakness - lack of energy and motivation - need to urinate frequently - dehydration - amenorrhea (had no period) - acne at its worst (never had a breakthrough acne like this. On the contrary, when I took other pills containing Drospirenone like Yasmín, Yasminelle, and Yaz, my skin improved a lot). Had to buy lotions and creams to fight it, but every single day a new pimple appears, which is so annoying. Taking into account all these adverse effects, I'll switch to another pill as soon as possible."

For Birth Control "So I just finished my first month on this pill called Slynd. There are more pros than cons. The first week, I have to say, I was a bit emotional and had some spotting. My doctor said that the breakthrough bleeding was completely normal. I also get mild headaches, so I started taking it right before bed so I’d sleep it off. The pros are that I didn’t gain any weight, which usually happens, and after the first week, I felt no mood swings or emotional in any way. I’m so upset because it’s $300, and my insurance only covers half, so it’s just way too much to keep up. I have to switch to a new one, and I’m not happy about it because I love Slynd. No weight gain and no mood swings made me so happy. I HIGHLY recommend it if you can afford it."

For Birth Control "Started taking Slynd several months ago. I'm 39, I have heavy periods with lots of pain, and I get migraines with aura. Slynd was an alternative to norethindrone, which caused me bloating, major oral issues, and daily dehydration symptoms even when cutting caffeine. Here are the benefits after taking it for 90 days: light periods, no facial flushing, no heavy cramps except sometimes, it cured my anxiety completely, and I experienced short-term depression for 1-2 months but am better. However, there are severe downfalls: my mouth is severely dry all the time, my gums are pale, and my tongue is coated with white. I lost hair. I have weird leg cramps at night and dull headaches consistently. I urinate frequently, which triggers a bladder condition I already have, it's a strong diuretic. All of my blood work and urinalysis are coming out normal. This is strange to me. Hope this helps someone decide."

For Birth Control "I know there’s lots of ups and downs with Slynd reviews, mainly complaining of bleeding. I have finished my first pack, and I have to say I haven’t experienced anything truly bad at all. I wanted to try an estrogen-free option and a different kind of progestin. Drospirenone is actually anti-androgenic and not derived from testosterone, so it has been counteracting my symptoms of my PCOS so far. My period is gone for now, and my PMDD symptoms have cleared up noticeably, even after the first week. I have noticed headaches, but that may just be my blood sugar, once I grab something to eat, I feel much better. Haven’t noticed any hair loss, weight gain, or pain. If anything, the number on the scale has suddenly started to go down after a year of no movement. My mood is absolutely more even and stable, and my intrusive thoughts due to PMDD are so much more manageable. Will update after a couple of months!"
