For Birth Control "I just started month 3 of this pill, and I absolutely love it. I was taking norethindrone before, and I was getting mild acne (never had acne before in my life), heavy irregular periods, and slight weight gain. On Slynd, my face is back to normal with only the extremely rare single pimple, and my period is almost non-existent. It always comes on day 3 of the green placebo, lasts 3 days, and is little more than spotting with mild cramps and tiredness. I haven't gotten pregnant yet, so it seems to be working on that front as well. I started to take birth control as an effort to control my migraines. They're not gone, but I have noticed any hormonal related ones I get after my period are much less severe. I haven't noticed any weight gain or loss with these, and my sex drive seems to be about the same as it was before as well. Obviously everyone's miles will vary, but this pill has been absolute magic for me so far. I hope it continues as is."

"I've been on Slynd now for a year and a half. I love it. I haven't had a period since I started it, I've lost 15 pounds, and my skin has never been so clear. I had been on the combination pill for 6 years and didn't realize how horrible my body was reacting. I had horrible acne and my body was always swollen. I switched to the progesterone-only pill because of concerns about my blood pressure. It took a few months for my body to adjust, but I am so happy that I switched."

For Birth Control "I'm on my 4th month of Slynd. I switched from a pill containing estrogen because I'm 41 and get migraines (infrequently). Because I have endometriosis, I do not take the placebos. The first week I had minimal spotting and cramping (and was expecting far worse). Since then, zero cramping or spotting or endo pain! My acne has neither improved nor gotten considerably worse. But I went through a time in the second month where my skin was more oily than it had ever been. Also during my second and third month, I was dealing with really bad anxiety. Hard to say whether the transition to Slynd had something to do with it or whether it was situational. I was able to lose about 6 pounds by eating more mindfully and have not had a migraine since starting it. Overall, I am extremely happy with how I have adjusted to it."

For Birth Control "I have now finished my first month on Slynd. After not being on birth control for a long time (always had severe side effects), I took my doctor's recommendation for Slynd because my cramps were very painful, I had heavy clotting, and I found out I have an 'extremely thick uterine wall.' So far I’m not happy with how I’ve been feeling since taking this pill. I am going to try it for one more month since I have the pills already. I have started breaking out, which is unusual for me. I’ve already experienced some weight gain, and my mood swings are worse than normal. I’m lethargic and I have no sex drive anymore. I constantly feel bloated and dehydrated. I also have not had a period, but have had cramps during the time of when my cycle regularly is."

For Birth Control "I was prescribed this at the age of 32. Apparently, this is for those who are in their late 30s and 40s, also a hormone found in it that is used in HRT, all of which I only researched later. I had no idea that this pill was new. I had blown up in a matter of weeks, bloating that I'd never had before, horrific, felt pregnant 24/7, clothes didn't fit, constantly hungry and wanting to eat, always thirsty, dry, slightly bloodshot eyes, extreme mood swings, argumentative, fault-finding, angry outbursts, feeling low, sad, depressed, and awful breast pain, not even tender, SORE!!! Acne, blotchy skin, bad hair, fatigue, and severe backache. I feel like I'm constantly on the verge of a period I never get. Constant cramps. Worst pill ever. I'd rather have a migraine. Zero libido. I would not recommend this. Hormones are completely out of whack. Very expensive for terrible side effects."

For Birth Control "So this is my very first time trying hormonal birth control. I went to get a copper IUD originally but discovered I had uterine hypoplasia, so no IUD will ever fit my tiny uterus :( I was so worried about any pill due to physical and emotional side effects. I already have PMDD, bipolar II, and anxiety. I’m stable due to several antipsychotics and couldn’t imagine going “crazy” again. I also have large breasts and told my doctor I did not want them to grow…. He said he prescribes his patients sensitive to hormones Slynd. It also has four inactive pills each month, which I like. It helps keep things balanced for me. Before Slynd, I had terrible mood swings before my period and would basically rage. I feel so level-headed and “normal” now since taking this! I’m shocked! Zero weight gain, no breast changes, and I’m actually less bloated. Like what!? No acne or anything either. And my sex drive is actually better."

For Birth Control "I have been on Slynd since last October (about 7 months now). I am 24 and was prescribed it because I have high blood pressure. Since I started the pill, I haven’t had a period or any spotting, and I am taking the placebo pills every month. However, this doesn’t seem to be the case for everyone else! I also didn’t notice any weight gain, I think I actually lost weight when I switched from the combination pill to this one. My acne has also gotten better on my face, but I did break out pretty bad on my back, which I thought was strange. Overall, I’ve liked it and haven’t had many negative side effects, but it is concerning every month when I don’t get a period!"

For Birth Control "Slynd was NOT for me. After a decade on Yaz, my OB-GYN switched me to Slynd. This was during the quarantine and highly stressful timing, in hindsight, I should have not agreed to change over to something without more research. My side effects began in the second half of the first pack. I began dropping weight and developing acne on my back, neck, and face (I’m almost 40). My anxiety hit an all-time high, and by the first week of the second pack, I quit after having an episode where I had thoughts to harm myself. For reference, I have NEVER experienced that in my life, and it was such a red flag I called my doc to switch back to my old pill. The nurse made a comment about weight loss not being associated with this pill and was cavalier about it. I was upset that this pill is so new with limited research and reviews, and I had been prescribed it simply because I was approaching a certain age. It was not a fit for me."

For Birth Control "I was prescribed Slynd due to an underlying heart condition. The first month I took it, 10/10, no complaints whatsoever. It even made my period nearly nonexistent. Unfortunately, my second month on it has been torture. I have had breakthrough bleeding every single day, nonstop. My skin was just about perfect before I switched to this pill, now it is absolutely horrible. Every day I wake up with around 5 new breakouts, and nothing is seeming to help it. It is turning into cystic acne, I think. I cry at the drop of a pin. If someone looks at me the wrong way or makes a joke that I didn't find funny, instant tears. I have noticed slight weight loss on this pill, which I am not too angry about. I am hoping to switch off of this pill and go back to combination pills ASAP. Although my gyno recommended that I wait to finish at least 3 months' worth, which I am dreading. If you don't mind acne, constant spotting, and unexpected crying, this is the pill for you!"

For Birth Control "On my fourth month of taking Slynd, and I can’t take it anymore. I need to call my gynecologist and see if I can just get off altogether. I was on Sprintec, but due to BP concerns, I was put on Slynd. I absolutely don't like this pill. I have had the WORST CYSTIC ACNE since I’ve been on this pill, and I’ve been to the dermatologist and spent a few hundred on some prescription topicals, and nothing is getting rid of this awful hormonal cystic acne. I haven’t had my period in about a month, so I guess that’s the only plus of this medicine. Lots of bloating, weight gain, and very emotional with this pill. I have never taken a mini pill, and I don’t think I ever will again!"

For Birth Control "My gyn gave me 4 packs of this pill for free. Goal was to prevent pregnancy but also to get some relief from heavy monthly bleeding/cramps. I’m on pack 4 and still have breakthrough bleeding, it just happens unexpectedly and can last a week or more. Cramps have improved and haven’t gotten pregnant, but I’ve had major cystic acne and dry eyes, so they’re bloodshot all the time. No weight gain, which is a plus. I feel like a guinea pig since this pill was literally just approved by the FDA, and there are no patient reviews to be found. Not sure if I will continue taking it, I can only imagine what the monthly price will be on a brand new pill on the market with no generic available."

For Birth Control "I've been taking birth control pills for a few years now. I've never felt so emotionally drained in my life. From the day I started taking this, I was sad and mad every single day. I cried for no reason and had crazy thoughts running through my head-very unlike me. I'm so depressed because I can't stand going another day just crying myself to sleep. I am so miserable and can't wait for my OBGYN to call me tomorrow to get these pills changed. Not happy, I also started to break out and have rashes on the back of my neck."

For Birth Control "I've been on Slynd for about a year and a half now. I can't take a combo pill, and a regular progesterone-only pill doesn't help with PMDD. I found this pill does its job. The usual symptoms I deal with are pretty much gone (cramping from ovulation to the end of the period, tender swollen breasts, acne, anger, and depression, and so on). Slynd stopped all that, which was a huge goal. The main issue is my period is very irregular, even a year and a half later. It comes and goes as it pleases and doesn't follow the off days. Sometimes it'll last 4 days, other times, I'd bleed lightly for weeks. At this point, I haven't had a period for almost 3 months, and I'm not pregnant. Overall, I'm happy since the main issue was PMDD and obviously not becoming pregnant."

For Birth Control "I’ve always had issues with birth control prior to Slynd. I’ve been on 2 different combination pills as well as the Kyleena IUD. I’ve had all sorts of side effects: recurrent yeast infections, dryness, and acne. I changed my gynecologist and told her my past issues, and she recommended Slynd. My skin has improved significantly, and I hardly ever had a pimple since I’ve been on Slynd. I basically don’t have any side effects. The only thing is my period had pretty much disappeared after the first 3 months."

For Birth Control "I'm a month into using Slynd, and I have had no issues. Due to constant headaches and migraines, I switched from the combo pill to Slynd with the hopes it would help with my headaches. I've had no headaches since starting (although I have still had my usual monthly intense migraine, but I didn't expect birth control to fix that). My head feels much clearer (I'm not sure how else to explain it!) now that I no longer take a combo pill. If you have headaches/migraines and are looking for a birth control with no estrogen, I would highly recommend trying Slynd. I've had no acne, no spotting, no weight gain, and a drastic difference in the amount of headaches I have. We will see how the next few months go, but so far, Slynd has drastically improved my quality of life with no side effects."

For Birth Control "Right after starting Slynd, I noticed I felt off. My blood pressure went up, and I was very moody. It did help with my heavy bleeding after being on it for a while, but I continued to have a light period about every 2 weeks despite only taking the placebo every 3 months. I got very painful acne, awful headaches that didn't respond to anything, weight gain and bloating. I lost a depressing amount of hair, and I had no energy. I gave it over a year, and it never improved. Finally gave up. I've been off Slynd for 2 weeks now, my energy is back, my acne is clearing, and I'm down 5 lbs."

My face is breaking out badly, I'm gaining weight quickly, and my depression is getting worse. I'd advise strongly against this one unless you have no other option."

For Birth Control "My OB prescribed Slynd after I had my child in Oct. 2021 and due to my chronic HTN. I'm 39 with a history of adenomyosis, PCOS, anemia, and now fibroids (as discovered with this pregnancy). I have had infertility issues; this was an IUI. I was reluctant to start it, but I sure didn't want any accidents. My insurance didn't cover it, but a coupon covered it 100%. I finally started it at the end of Dec. as I was abstaining and still no period. Now I am in my second week and have been bleeding for 4 days! I'm having a full-blown period where I need overnight pads during the day due to the 'gush.' I'm miserable! I take the pill every day precisely at the same time, and I am having postpartum hair loss and my acne is flaring up. Slynd can contribute to the hair loss and acne, and I am losing clumps daily. I have been irritable but don't know if it is related to postpartum hormones. At this point, I feel that I am better off stopping and taking my chances."

For Birth Control "I was switched to Slynd after taking Sprintec for 3 years due to high blood pressure. I unfortunately had a bad experience taking Slynd. It gave me the worst cystic acne (my skin was clear before). I had a lot of spotting during the first pack and horrible cramps. My period was very light, but the cramps were so bad during it I contemplated going to the hospital. The second pack, I also experienced horrible cramping that would wake me up at night, but my period never came and still has not. I’ve gained 20 pounds since starting Slynd without changing any of my normal daily habits. On top of all this, my insurance refuses to cover it, and it is very expensive ($250 a pack)."

For Birth Control "Originally started taking this pill for terrible cramps and pain during my period. After 5 months, Slynd has reduced my period to only 3 days, and the pain has decreased somewhat. I was pretty happy with the shorter period and less pain, but the acne is terrible. I had an absolutely clear face and back before taking this medication. Now my face and back are always covered in pimples. I cannot take it anymore, I will be switching off of this pill. Just to note, I did switch from Tri-Lo Marzia to Slynd, and Tri-Lo is much more effective with helping with acne but useless for cramps. I will be trying Yaz next..."

For Birth Control "I am into a month and a half. At first, I had spotting here and there. The past few days, it has been almost a normal period. The doctor said it could take up to 3 months for my body to regulate to it. So far, I have noticed more breakouts, slight cramps, and some depression/anxiety, however, my body is adjusting, so that's to be expected, especially since I already suffer from both. My doctor has me skip placebo pills and said I won’t get my period anymore in a few months by doing so. I’ll be back to update after a few more months. Just remember, it takes your body time to adjust (could be a few months). Nothing unbearable."

For Birth Control "My insurance covers it, which is great. I took it for 12 days, and Slynd is not right for me. I have migraines caused by estrogen, thus, my Dr. prescribed the Mirena in 2015. After 3 months, I got cystic acne. It was awful. I eventually had it removed and took spironolactone to get the acne under control even after having the IUD removed. Fast forward to last month. I had been on Nuvaring for over a year and LOVED it. However, I was getting occasional migraines. My Dr. suggested I switch to Slynd, given that it is progesterone-based but will not cause acne. I was hesitant but was willing to try it. I had extreme breakthrough bleeding. I am not talking spotting, I am talking the bad kind. I also started getting cystic acne all over again. I had crazy dreams. My eyes were so dry. I did not have any emotional effects. My Dr. told me to continue taking it to get over the transition, but I stopped it. I would much rather have a migraine than the acne that took a year to get under control before."

For Birth Control "I've tried a lot of different birth control pills and an IUD. I've always had irregular periods and bad cramps. My doctor thinks I could have endometriosis, so she suggested I try this last pill before proceeding with a laparoscopy. I hardly have any cramping since starting Slynd. I am on my third week of my second pack, and it seems to be helping the cramps. I started bleeding during the third week of my first pack and bled heavily for about 2 weeks. I finished the pack, and the bleeding stopped. In the middle of my second week of my second pack, my period started again. I've noticed more anxiety and mood swings. Also, what is up with this acne? I've never had acne in my entire life. Maybe a couple of pimples here and there before my period, but this is insane. I've already gotten this far, so I will finish out the 3 months."

For Birth Control "I started taking Slynd June 9th of this year. I am now at the end of my second pack, and so far I have no complaints. I was on a combination BC, Yaz, and then Yasmin for PMDD and abnormal bleeding. The estrogen was wreaking havoc on my body, so I had an endometrial ablation and then I started Slynd. The second week into the first pack, I bled like I was dying for 8 days, and now no breakthrough bleeding. I have maybe had one day since then where I had faint brown spotting for a few hours. I am skipping the placebos until the end of my third pack so that the medication has time to get into my body, but like I said, so far no problems. I feel better, mentally no mood swings, no acne, and no weight gain at all. I’m 34, my tubes are tied, so I am not using it for protection but for PMDD and period regulation. I really recommend this for women who can’t handle estrogen and are going through severe PMDD in their mid-30s because this has really worked well. I hope it continues to do its job!"
