For Insomnia "This drug, Unisom with doxylamine succonate, has really helped me to get good sleep for the past two months. I take from 1/3 to 1/2 of a pill because taking an entire pill makes me really groggy the next morning. Prior to this I was waking up every hour or two and was experiencing anxiety and I really appreciate this sleep aid so much as I sleep straight thru the night now."

For Insomnia "I've been using Kirkland brand doxylamine succinate now for many years. I take only 1/2 a 25mg pill and find it works just as well as a full pill, without making me drowsy the next morning. Here and there I find myself without a pill if I'm out of town and forget them or run out, and what happens is I just go back to the same I Sonia I had for ten years prior to taking these. Therefore I don't think they're addictive in my case, rather if I don't take them I'm back where I started. Insomnia was a problem I suffered from for years, not just a temporary deal."

Unisom SleepTabs (doxylamine) for Insomnia "I was prescribed diclegis by my OB for extreme nausea and vomiting during pregnancy. Diclegis is not covered by insurance so I researched what it was and it's basically unisom and Vitamin B6. Now the active ingredient is what is in the sleep tabs, not gels. The gels have diphenhydramine so if you are using this review to help ease nausea during pregnancy, make sure you are buying the sleep tabs. Anyway, I take one tab at night (Check it is the right dose doxylamine 10mg) and it totally works. I don't wake up feeling nauseated at all and I sleep through the night. I do feel a little groggy in the AM, but it's hard to tell if it's from the pill or pregnancy in general. Upon further research, I discovered that the tabs were originally so designed to help with nausea. Hope this helps!"

Sleep Aid (doxylamine) for Insomnia "I use to wake 4 + times a night with hot flushes. So I started using half a tablet but found I was still waking . For the last 30 nights I've been taking one whole tablet and rarely waking. I get a good 8-10 hours sleep and haven't had one hot flush since taking the tablet. I also have great vivid dreams. I look forward to sleeping now. Some mornings I feel a little washed out but after a coffee I'm good to go."

Unisom SleepTabs (doxylamine) for Insomnia "Because of the lockdown due to coronavirus, my sleep pattern was distorted, and I was not getting enough sleep. So, I decided to get a sleep aid and researched online. This Unisom SleepTabs came up as one of the most effective to getting good sleep and waking refreshed. But the promises are wild and far from reality. I took the pill at bedtime but could not fall asleep for hours. In the morning I woke up with all dizziness and drowsy feeling. My body was aching all over. I could not focus at all and lacked clarity during the day. I don't recommend it all!"

Unisom SleepTabs (doxylamine) for Insomnia "I break the 25 MG tbs into THIRDS and take it about an hour before bed. I try to have at least 7 hours for sleeping. More is better. Only feel groggy when my sleep time is less than 7 hours. Love it! I also use the generic versions."

For Insomnia "Apparently a side effect not reported is that the metabolic by-product of doxylamine will possibly test positive in a urine drug test as an amphetamine. It is not listed in the literature so I had a hard time explaining it when it was the only medicine I had taken before a job drug test."

For Insomnia "I've suffered with insomnia for many years & have tried various remedies including Yoga based approaches & treatments using natural products like Valerian. Unfortunately, none of these has had any lasting effect. Usually, I will manage to get to sleep but will wake up three or four hours later & then have a real struggle to get back to sleep no matter how relaxed I am. Consequently, I'm absolutely shattered the next day and find it very hard to function properly. With Doxylamine, however, I usually enjoy a good night's sleep (6 to 7 hours) and feel energised the next day. I've been taking them for over three years now and don't appear to have any side effects. I take about half a tablet each night and drift of to sleep about an hour later"

For Insomnia "I have taken Unisom (doxylamine) for 30 years. I cannot sleep without it. I am a little drowsy when I get up but after a couple of cups of coffee I am great. I have tried every other kind of sleep aid that is made but nothing works like Unisom tablets. Even the other Unisom (gel, etc) do not work for me."

Unisom SleepTabs (doxylamine) for Insomnia "I've always had trouble falling asleep so I bought these one day to try it out and they work great for me. They knock me out in 30 minutes and I get a good nights rest. I use it every once in a while when I have a lot on my mind and just wanna sleep. Only downside to it is that I have a very hard time getting up in the morning when I take one and it makes me sleep even longer which I don't prefer cause it messes with my sleep schedule."

Unisom SleepTabs (doxylamine) for Insomnia "My obgyn dr put me on this medication because I’m pregnant and have trouble sleeping. It’s working for the most part mind you I was on trazadone for years so it was kinda rough in the beginning. I’ve been on it 10 weeks now and I suffer from these nightmares. I wake up in a state of fear and a lot of times I scream. It’s getting worse. I’m not sure if it’s my hormones because of my pregnancy or the unisom. Has anyone had any experience with realistic nightmares while on this medication??"

For Insomnia "After taking Doxylamine for over 8 months for severe insomnia, I have gained over 15lbs. I'm only 5'1'' & 15lbs is a significant weight gain. I've never been overweight, I've been consuming less calories & no change in weight. The doxylamine helps with my insomnia but I can not continue using it because of weight gain."

For Insomnia "I am taking Restavit to help with long term insomnia. I am very sensitive to drowsy medicines and have got down to taking 1/8 of a tablet with excellent results. Even if I do not feel sleepy when I go to bed once I close my eyes I easily drift off to sleep. It also helps with my stress related anxiety throughout the day. Will be looking at having it compounded to the amount I needed as smallest does available is 25mg which I cut down to eight pieces. Would recommend to those waking up groggy trying to cut down the amount to the minimum needed to sleep."

For Insomnia "Benadryl (diphenhydramine) gives me restless leg syndrome but I don’t have that issue with Unisom Sleep tabs (doylamine succinate). I have extreme insomnia & I find that these pills will get me to sleep & I have no problems getting up in the morning to go to work. It also do not make me groggy."

For Insomnia "I took Doxylamine for the first time last night. I have suffered terribly from opioid withdrawal induced insomnia for a long period of time and to sleep I was given Seroquel, which did not help but left me completely "hangovered" in the mornings and had serious side effects. Instead, I tried the OTC Doxylamine and I have slept seven straight hours without nightmares and feel great and wide awake in the morning. I can not generalize after only one experience but would really like to recommend it."

For Insomnia "I have been using this drug (known in Australia as Restavit). I can only use half a tablet because it is so strong. Last night my girlfriend used it with disastrous consequences. She slept walked and talked the entire night. Several times she apparently awoke only to begin babbling back in her dream state. She was constantly getting up and walking around, turning on lights. She was crying uncontrollably at times for half an hour at a time. This morning she has no recollection of any of it. I will keep using it. She will not."

"I can NOT turn off my busy little brain! I started taking this OTC brand 6 years ago. It takes about an hour to work but WOW....I sleep great. If I wake up at night, I easily fall back to sleep. I've had absolutely NO side effects. No morning sluggishness etc. Only problem..I can NOT fall asleep without it now. If I try to wean myself off of it, I am awake almost all night long. After two nights of this, I go back to it. I can get by on 1/2 of a 25mg tablet. After using it for so long, every night, I am just hoping they don't come out with horrible warnings! So far...so good!"

Unisom SleepTabs (doxylamine) for Insomnia "It works perfect for me to go to sleep. I only took half of the the tab. I sleept the whole night, for 10 hours, but I had a hard time trying to wake up!! I felt dizzy and with Migraine. I read everything about side effects, so I realized that I can't take this substance because I'm taking Eutirox because I have been diagnosed with HipoTyroidism. It works but its not good for me."

Unisom SleepTabs (doxylamine) for Insomnia "I've always had a hard time falling and staying asleep. Seems like I've tried everything including meditation, sleep noise apps, music, melatonin, make the room freezing, warm the room up, reduce caffeine and stimulus before bed. Bought some unisom to see if it would help. Taking as directed, 1 pill at bedtime. Still takes me a good hour of tossing and turning and then I'm awake every hour or two all night and wake up with a dry mouth. Maybe I'll go back to 10 mg melatonin cuz that seemed to work best."

Unisom SleepTabs (doxylamine) for Insomnia "I'm a 43 yr old healthy female who has had recent spinal disc degeneration so pain has been tough. Sleep was always elusive a bit except when exercise a big part of my life; now sleep has gotten more unobtainable. I used to get rx ambien but as predicted, it stopped working quickly with tolerance (non-addictive like unisom, but habit-forming and awful on memory - be wary of zolpidem/ambien.) Unisom and its generic have contributed to depression and ill feelings. I think this is quite literally as the bottle reads, for OCCASIONAL sleeplessness. Wishing it worked more regularly."

For Insomnia "One tablet knocked me out cold, the next day I started to come alive about lunch time, but felt groggy for the rest of the day. I take a quarter of a tablet now and works beautifully, I sleep well with nil grogginess the next day. The packet says take 1 -2 tablets, too much for me, I cant imagine taking two tablets! Although I'm a petite lady, I do only weigh 54kg."

For Insomnia "I took one 25mg doxylamine pill and it knocked me out, made me hungry first. I woke up a few times during the night and felt very drugged. I had 9 hours before I had to wake up, didn't feel like it was enough, I was very groggy for several hours. I tried half the pill, still too much. I take a quarter of the 25mg pill and it works well, often times even less than that. I find I need to take it at least 7 hours before my alarm goes off. After 15 min awake I am alert and ready to go. I find it hard to sleep without but have been taking it for a few months like this now and find I haven't needed more. Sometimes there us a headache but I don't know if it can be attributed to to the pill."
