Ramelteon for Insomnia "The 8mg Rozerem does not work at all for me and I've tried it several times. The adverse effects were staying up until daylight, feeling crazy and anxious, hypnotic feeling of sleepiness but inability to shut down racing thoughts, and finally able to sleep lightly for a few hours with horrific nightmares. It took a while to fully function in the morning, I suppose from lack of quality sleep. I'm convinced that this is not for insomniacs like myself that need to shut down and crash peacefully for a good night's sleep."

Ramelteon for Insomnia "Having been a Xanax addict, no doctor will prescribe benzos for me anymore, which is a shame because they were the best for my insomnia. I was until recently just taking Clonidine and Gabapentin for sleep; the combination gives me 4 or 5 hours of broken sleep. Added Rozerem 8 mg to my sleep meds 3 weeks ago. It makes me fall asleep a little more quickly, and I have slept up to 5 continuous hours some nights. Getting nightmares, though, fairly horrible imagery, but they are worth it so far."

Ramelteon for Insomnia "Tried this one night. I had horrible nightmares, woke up with my heart beating rapidly, took about 2 hours to get back to sleep, went straight into the same nightmare. Repeated 4 times that night. Never will try again."

Ramelteon for Insomnia "So recently I got prescribed with Rozerem. I've been having trouble falling and staying asleep. I told my psychiatrist that I wanted to try melatonin, and he gave me Rozerem. It's been four days since I've been on it. Two out of four of those nights, I had very vivid dreams and nightmares. On the second day, I had two nightmares in a row. On the fourth day, another nightmare, and I've been up for two hours. It's 5:41 am at the moment. I wanted melatonin so I could sleep at night and lucid dream. I'd rather be active and do whatever I want in my dreams than live in this reality. I sleep when I'm overly stimulated and just overall depressed. I'm happy that my dreams are very vivid, but when I'm having a nightmare, I like to be aware so that I can either change my dream or just wake up. Unfortunately, that hasn't been the case. Yes, Rozerem works for putting me to sleep, but if you don't want to potentially have nightmares, I don't recommend it."

For Insomnia "Ideally, I like to try different supplements and medicines to understand the sleep quality. I use a sleep tracker and keep journals of my sleep. Ramelteon for me is hit or miss, it has induced sleep, but it does not keep me asleep longer less than half the time I have it. One night I have a good sleep duration, but the next day I sleep but wake up with weird nightmares and then cannot go back to sleep. So I have stepped away from taking this anymore as for me as an athlete. I am going back to Ashwagandha, which improves SWS and REM in my sleep and controls disruptions, if not makes me fall asleep when I want to. I am going to try CBD isolates as an alternative. Although I don’t take this daily, only when my sleep cycle was varied."

For Insomnia "I have taken many supplements, CBD gummies, benzos, etc. I don’t have any trouble falling asleep, but staying asleep was horrible. It caused anxiety and stress. I have been on ramelteon for 5 months, and it gives me 4 to 5 hours of straight sleep, and then I can fall back in about 10 minutes. I use the CBT-I app, and I average 6.5 hours a night. I have even had up to 7, and a few times, even 8 hours. My only complaint is the very vivid and sometimes disturbing nightmares. I would say disturbing dreams. I have always been a vivid dreamer, but this medication makes them more memorable and frequent. The cost is ridiculously high, though."

For Insomnia "I've been on ramelteon for just a few days now. Insomnia has been leading to mental health issues again. I've been taking at least four other nighttime drugs, such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen PM, for so long to get a few hours of broken sleep. I was past the point of exhaustion. But so far, every night, I've been falling asleep pretty quickly but having horrible dreams. It is 3 AM now, and I'm wide awake again. Still undecided on effectiveness. Hopefully, after a few more days, it will be better if I can suffer through the dreams."

Ramelteon for Insomnia "Tried it a few times, but it gave me horrible, disturbing nightmares each time I used it! Besides that, it was not helpful in actually getting me to sleep."

Ramelteon for Insomnia "Dizzy. I was able to fall asleep with Rozerem 8 mg, but had nightmares, and the next day I felt like I was walking underwater and very, very dizzy. Will not be taking this again."
