Fluticasone nasal for Allergic Rhinitis "I moved to Seattle in spring, so I started getting allergies. The doctor recommended Flonase for it. It helped get rid of it, but after a while, I started getting this shortness of breath and tightness in the chest area. It felt like I was going to pass out a couple of times. I’m going to stay away from it as that is far scarier than being stuffy."

Fluticasone nasal for Rhinitis "I felt like I was dying. After using Flonase for a month, for the first time in my life, I was experiencing anxiety and panic attacks. Another night, I was awoken by a horrible headache and vomited. The Flonase made it so hard to breathe I could only take shallow breaths, and my heart rate was way higher than usual. The only thing I could focus on was my breath and what's wrong with me. I would have never known it was the Flonase causing this if I didn’t look up the side effects online."

Fluticasone nasal for Rhinitis "Within 2 hours of my 2nd dose of Flonase, I experienced difficulty breathing and had crusting around the openings of my nose. I also had a feeling of extreme restlessness, much like I would imagine restless leg persons are afflicted with. The next morning, I was SOB with minimal exertion and experienced a worsening sore throat and pharyngitis, with difficulty speaking above a whisper."

Fluticasone nasal for Rhinitis "I have been a long-term user until recently. At first, Flonase worked like it should. Until recently, being diabetic as well, I started becoming very tired and nauseated. After using it at night, trouble breathing, wheezing, and, worst of all, oral thrush started. Since then, my doctor stopped the medication due to serious side effects. My system straightened up within a couple of days after stopping, and I feel a lot better than ever."

For Nasal Polyps "For the last few years, my allergies/sinuses have become really bad due to the forced dry heating system where I live. I started taking loratadine 10 mg, which helped some with congestion, but it just wasn't enough. I ended up getting nasal polyps that made my nose bleed, obstructed my smell and sense of taste, caused difficulty in draining my sinuses, and made it hard to breathe in through my nose, so I started using Flonase. I am only on day 6, and the feeling of my skull bursting slowly went away, I can breathe easier and smell again. It already started to shrink the polyps, and the nose bleeding stopped, feeling much better."

Fluticasone nasal for Rhinitis "I already suffer with anxiety and allergies. I've tried this the last two days, and my anxiety levels have shot through the roof: palpitations, shortness of breath, elevated blood pressure. Unable to sleep until the early hours despite taking medication, then on edge all day long, feeling anxious and irritable. If you're already suffering from anxiety issues, I'd be very careful about taking this, if at all. Whether it's had any impact on my nasal congestion, I don't know, because I've been overwhelmed with anxiety."

For Rhinitis "Been using since 15th May, initially with good results. Finding anxiety increased and breathing difficult sometimes. Some nights sleep ok, others only a few hours as nose congested. Dosage is 1 spray each nostril once per day. Lost weight as nausea causing me to eat less. Feel the cold more, keep tensing up. Insomnia is the worst."

"It wasn’t until I stopped using Fluticasone, then started back using it, that I was able to confirm that Fluticasone is what has caused my anxiety/panic attacks. I was prescribed Fluticasone back in January of 2023 for allergies and Eustachian Tube Dysfunction. It worked at first, but then, out of nowhere, I started having anxiety and panic attacks. I experienced shaking, hands, arms, and legs tingling, racing heartbeat, chest tightness and chest pains, difficulty breathing, etc. I’ve been using it on and off for 3 months, hoping to improve my allergies/sinus issues and ETD. About 4 weeks ago, I got a nosebleed and stopped using Fluticasone to give my nose a break. The daily anxiety and panic attacks turned into maybe 1 or 2 a week. I’ve still been stuffy, so I decided to start back on Fluticasone on Saturday. The panic attacks, anxiousness, and chest pains have returned. Absolutely no more Fluticasone for me!"

Fluticasone nasal for Rhinitis "The worst thing about Flonase is that you have to try it for a full week to test whether it works. I just finished that week. It did not work, and I slept terribly because I couldn't breathe. I have a narrow nasal passageway. Flonase did not work."

For Allergic Rhinitis "I am from the Philippines. Based on my experience, my doctor gave me fluticasone (Avamys), and after 3 days of use, it was effective, and I don't really mind the side effects because I know that if there are side effects, it means it's working. Then, after 5 days of use, I got asthma and post-nasal drip. I can't breathe during sleep. My gosh, it was really scary. I was really dizzy when I walked and had coughing and back pain. I realize that all the side effects are so, so real, so after all that, I stopped fluticasone."

For Rhinitis "I have been taking this medication on and off for many years. I had a weird aversion to taking it. I got side effects on a single dose, and when I noticed, I had almost all of the side effect symptoms: shortness of breath, bruising, bad mood, lethargy, swollen eyes, and hive-like bumps, like eczema. This is what made me realize that in smaller doses is what gave me these side effects in such a small amount that I wrote them off as just something wrong with me. I never read the side effect sheet or contraindications my whole life."

For Allergic Rhinitis "After days of torture, absolutely the worst experience of my life! I’m so glad I found this thread and was able to connect the dots. I really began to look into it yesterday when I noticed my vision was blurred, like the whole day I felt awful eye pain and pressure behind my eyes. Not to mention, the insomnia has been gut-wrenching and so frustrating. I’ve been to the emergency room twice for shortness of breath. Shallow breathing?? Mainly through my nose because when I would attempt through my mouth, it was very hard to catch! The scariest feelings are when you feel like you don’t have enough oxygen. My anxiety has been through the roof, I’ve even had trouble driving because of it, and usually I’m not an anxious person at all. My heart rate at night is 115-130. It’s worse at night, to be honest. I don’t have any other words other than I can’t believe doctors are actually prescribing this stuff. I actually was prescribed this for a month, and I’m on day 7. Never again."

Fluticasone nasal for Allergic Rhinitis "I used this years ago with no issues. I tried it yesterday due to stuffy nose and sneezing, and within 2 hours I had difficulty breathing, increased heart rate, my stomach swelled (if you have weight issues, all you need is 3 inches added to your waist in 2 hours)."

Fluticasone nasal for Allergic Rhinitis "Cleared my sinuses right up, but gave me five other problems: headaches, joint soreness, rapid heart rate, shortness of breath, blurred vision. This stuff is going right in the garbage can."

Fluticasone nasal for Rhinitis "TAKE FLONASE NASAL SPRAY AT YOUR OWN PERIL! After having used it for two days, I suddenly woke up in the middle of the night unable to breathe. For almost a minute, I was unable to get any air into my lungs. My throat/windpipe was totally constricted. It was the scariest moment of my life. Then gradually, I was able to inhale just a little bit of air. Never again will I touch this stuff."
