Fluticasone nasal for Allergic Rhinitis "TERRIBLE! Do not use this!! Or be very cautious, listen to your body! If you get ANY anxiety, STOP IMMEDIATELY! I used it for 9 days. I was having panic attacks every day. I didn’t know what was going on, it turned my life UPSIDE DOWN. Finally, I figured out it was the Flonase, so I stopped using it. The panic attacks stopped, but the anxious feelings stayed. I had insomnia, no appetite, lost 15 lbs, couldn’t work. Literally flipped everything upside down. I’ve been in and out of the hospital, they’re checking everything to see if I’m okay, but mainly it affected my hormones, especially cortisol. Finally, now it’s been almost 6 weeks and I’m finally getting better. Do not take this!!"

Fluticasone nasal for Rhinitis "I used this Flonase for a period of 3 weeks! Worked well to relieve stuffy nose due to allergies. Then all the side effects started: anxiety, insomnia, thrush, headaches, etc. I switched back to regular allergy meds like Zyrtec. It took 2 weeks for the symptoms to subside. I wouldn’t recommend Flonase! Keep away!"

Fluticasone nasal for Allergic Rhinitis "I gave this medication a 5/10 simply that it does a good job at reducing allergy rhinitis symptoms. However, I must say that I had to discontinue the medication after one week because of significant side effects. From the first day of use, I experienced severe anxiety and insomnia. The next day after stopping the medication, I was extremely lethargic with body aches. Pretty powerful drug for over-the-counter use in my opinion."

Fluticasone nasal for Allergic Rhinitis "Don't take this drug. I had horrible anxiety, paranoia-like thoughts, heart palpitations, insomnia, my body was shaking and nightmares, as well as being tired. Also, I had nausea, dry mouth, and sore throat. It did help with a stuffy nose. I took Flonase on and off for several months. It took me a while to figure out why I was feeling so horrible and why I could not sleep. It might take weeks to feel completely better. When I stopped taking it the first time, it took about 3 weeks. Then I took it again and then I realized Flonase was causing my symptoms. The anxiety is not listed as a side effect, but in my case, it was Flonase that caused it."

Fluticasone nasal for Rhinitis "I was googling 'Can Flonase make you anxious?' and came upon this particular site. I'm very glad that I did because I seem to have a high sensitivity to any steroid, including nasal spray. My heart began racing more, especially at night. My sleep was disrupted, I was tossing and turning, waking up with a racing heart, feeling like I couldn't breathe, and I was very hot. I certainly will only use this in case of emergency. It's good to know there are others who experience the same as I did."

Fluticasone nasal for Rhinitis "I took this once. I could not sleep all night - I went to bed at 10 and was up until 4 a.m. Every time I closed my eyes, I entered a lucid dream and started talking and woke myself up. It was so strange. The next day, I tried to nap and the same thing happened. Eventually, it went away. And I never took Flonase again."

Fluticasone nasal for Allergic Rhinitis "Yes, it does cause anxiety. Like the many users, even I took 3 months to find out that this is what caused me to go to mental health and have me all the issues: anxiety, insomnia, increased BP at night after I took it. When I went to the doctor, my BP showed normal in the morning, and my doctor thought I was losing my mind - till one day last week I figured it was Flonase."

"This is probably the worst nasal spray I have ever used. I had blocked eustachian tubes. The side effects are horrendous. I already suffer from anxiety, but this made it a whole lot worse, especially at night. My mood changes every 2 minutes. My heart races horribly. I can’t sleep. The anxiousness is worse at night as I am trying to sleep. I get this very weird feeling in the whole of my body when I try to relax, and I get up in a panic with a racing heart. I have been off it for 2-4 days now, and I am still having the side effects of it. I started using it a few weeks ago. If anyone is thinking of using it, please read the label and the possible side effects before you use it, as I stupidly didn’t. If anyone has a sensitive body or is sensitive to meds, I would advise not using this one."

Fluticasone nasal for Nasal Polyps "Obscenely expensive drug with potentially terrible persistent side effects; was prescribed this after polyps returned again after surgery and budesonide regimen. It seemed to work at first; was able to breathe again after a few weeks. A little over a month later, however, I woke up with bad muscle soreness and fatigue, even ran a light fever. Eight months after stopping the drug, I'm still experiencing DAILY dizziness, insomnia, muscle loss/weakness, fatigue, and hand tremors. I can no longer live my life the way I used to. This stuff royally messed me up, and I've had to spend thousands of dollars on tests to try and figure out what kind of damage it did to my body (I still don't know)."

Fluticasone nasal for Rhinitis "Relieved some nasal pressure and drainage. After a month of continuous use, developed insomnia and muscle spasms around ear and eyelid areas. Discontinued use, and after 2 weeks, these symptoms disappeared."

Fluticasone nasal for Allergic Rhinitis "My teen son and I both have used Flonase. First, it does work well to control our pollen allergies. However, we both have had side effects. My son's eye pressure increased, and we monitored it during pollen season and off with an ophthalmologist. The culprit was indeed the Flonase. I've experienced difficulty sleeping. I once took Flonase in the evening because I forgot the morning dose and was very congested-did not sleep all night. If taken in the morning, I can get to sleep but not deeply."

"Horrible. Had sinusitis for weeks. I was prescribed this, and it made me sleep, had a bad headache, and dried my eyes and sinuses so badly. Took a few hours to nasal rinse it out of my nose, even though it was still in my system. Also made me space out for a few hours while I was lying down. Did not take any other medication with this. Will not take this again. Definitely would not recommend this at all."

For Rhinitis "Been using since 15th May, initially with good results. Finding anxiety increased and breathing difficult sometimes. Some nights sleep ok, others only a few hours as nose congested. Dosage is 1 spray each nostril once per day. Lost weight as nausea causing me to eat less. Feel the cold more, keep tensing up. Insomnia is the worst."

For Allergic Rhinitis "I'm allergic to dust and a couple more things. My doctor prescribed this drug to me, which is a steroid. It didn't help me at all. It dried my nose, and I couldn't breathe. The side effects were horrible. I had horrible headaches, nausea, insomnia, and body aches. I will never use this product again. I will break it into pieces!"

For Nasal Polyps "I started using it after my doctor prescribed it for nostril swelling, which makes it hard to breathe. I’ve been using it for a few months, and I’ve been having terrible side effects. I started having extreme anxiety, insomnia, back pains, muscle spasms, chest pain, and just realized it’s the medication. I stopped using it 2 days ago and hope the symptoms go away soon."

Fluticasone nasal for Rhinitis "The worst thing about Flonase is that you have to try it for a full week to test whether it works. I just finished that week. It did not work, and I slept terribly because I couldn't breathe. I have a narrow nasal passageway. Flonase did not work."

Fluticasone nasal "I’ve been prescribed the generic form of Flonase for years, it has been a lifesaver for me. On 8/1/21, I got my prescription from Kroger, and I noticed the bottle was labeled differently, and it has a different taste or smell. But the worst part of this is I can’t sleep at night. I still had half a bottle of the original generic brand Kroger used for years, and I was fine until it was gone. Now I’m left with sleepless nights. Kroger has obviously gone for the cheapest product, but it's not working. I have massive headaches with it, and not being able to sleep is ruining my life."

For Allergic Rhinitis "After reading the comments, I now understand why my heart was racing and I couldn't sleep. I knew the headaches were a side effect, but I legitimately ended up in the emergency room six times in three weeks. They couldn't find anything on me, and I kept telling them the meds I was taking. They told me to take the entire bottle until it was done. I stopped for a few days at first, and I began feeling a bit better. Then a doctor told me to spray it sideways in my nose. Two days later, my symptoms are back, and my heart is racing and my head is pounding to the point I went to walk and get some fresh air. This had been setting off my anxiety and panic attacks back to back, and I thought I was dying. I will not be taking fluticasone again, and the fact the doctors did not mention this to me. I lost so much sleep and couldn't eat. I lost 17 pounds and am struggling to eat again. Would not recommend."

For Allergic Rhinitis "Took the fluticasone nasal spray for one day. Woke up at 1:00 a.m. Couldn’t get back to sleep. That hasn’t happened to me in years. Couldn’t go to work the next day because I was exhausted. Threw it in the garbage. If you can’t sleep, it’s useless."

For Allergic Rhinitis "After days of torture, absolutely the worst experience of my life! I’m so glad I found this thread and was able to connect the dots. I really began to look into it yesterday when I noticed my vision was blurred, like the whole day I felt awful eye pain and pressure behind my eyes. Not to mention, the insomnia has been gut-wrenching and so frustrating. I’ve been to the emergency room twice for shortness of breath. Shallow breathing?? Mainly through my nose because when I would attempt through my mouth, it was very hard to catch! The scariest feelings are when you feel like you don’t have enough oxygen. My anxiety has been through the roof, I’ve even had trouble driving because of it, and usually I’m not an anxious person at all. My heart rate at night is 115-130. It’s worse at night, to be honest. I don’t have any other words other than I can’t believe doctors are actually prescribing this stuff. I actually was prescribed this for a month, and I’m on day 7. Never again."
