For Acne "I have suffered from acne for years. I've tried almost everything and nothing seemed to work so My dermatologist put me on loryna. The good thing about loryna is it did help with my acne. I would still get the Ocassional pimple but my break outs weren't as bad as they were before. The bad thing about Loryna is it made me gain a lot of weight and gave me horrible mood swings. It made me obsessed with food. I would be extremely hungry throughout the day and get anxious if I didn't get the chance to eat when I wanted. Also it made me so much more irritable. I would get mad very easily and snap at people. I ended up going off of the pill because although it helped with my acne, the weight gain and mood swings weren't worth it"

For Birth Control "I had no initial issues with loryna, but 6 months in I started to notice different changes with my body. My cycle was off, mood was terrible, low libido, and my breast were larger. Overall I just did not feel like myself. I shared my concerns with my gyno and she said that my body was 'adjusting.' This didn't make sense because at the time I was 36 and had been on birth control before. You adjust the first 6 months, but not after taking for 6 months. Needless to say, I had an abnormal pap. I stopped taking loryna immediately. 6 months later after stopping loryna, copolscopy and folic acid... my pap was normal again. Unfortunately, I also found a lump in my breast. LADIES PLEASE REFRAIN FROM TAKING THIS GARBAGE . It is not worth surgery, chemo, radiation, or the lifelong worry of dying from cancer."

For Birth Control "I was on Loryna for about a year and a half! I started taking it because of extremely painful periods and as a form of protection. Before, I would have to stay home for the first three days of my period because the cramps would be so bad that I couldn’t move and I’d cry for most of the day and sometimes vomit. Taking pain meds did not help. After going on Loryna, the cramps didn’t get that much better. But I was at least able to go places and they only lasted about a day and a half. I was also able to get more relief through pain meds. So it did make it more bearable and I also had no pregnancy scares so that’s good! But I also became extremely emotional at all times, as in crying at basically everything, so that was kinda annoying. I didn’t experience any other side effects though. I ultimately had to go off it because I just couldn’t remember to take it every day lol"

For Birth Control "Since they discontinued vestura, they switched me ( without my prior knowledge) to Loryna. My anxiety is higher and I have about 5-8 pounds of water weight/bloat that I can't get rid of. I'm no saint with eating but I can usually reduce calories and be back at my normal weight- not now. I'm calling my doctor today; I've been on it three months and it hasn't gotten any better."

For Acne "My dermatologist put me on this medication so I can start accutane (you can't get pregnant on accutane), my cystic acne is really bad and it seems to be getting worse. I’ve been on this for about two weeks and I’m having a mental breakdown. I quit DEPO (birth control) at the beginning of the year since I’ve been on it all my life and I’ve never dealt with hormonal issues. Today was TERRIBLE, I’ve done nothing but cry all day nonstop and the slightest thing makes me super emotional. Everything makes me wanna cry, my boyfriend had to rush over here just to check on me. Today was a really bad episode for me idk if it’s because I took it on an empty stomach but today is completely the pits guess I’ll try again tomorrow"

For Birth Control "I was taking Nikki for almost a year and was having a great luck. Less PMS, little to no bleeding every month, no acne, much less migraines. Pharmacy switched me to Loryna and my migraines began almost immediately. I now have 10 migraines a month, fatigue, PMS and major bleeding. I am now struggling to find a pharmacy that carries Nikki tabs. I have had to start taking migraine prevention pills."

For Birth Control "I started Loryna about 3 and a half weeks ago. I was preparing for an IVF embryo transfer. I wanted to select Yaz as the birth control to prepare for my transfer, but learned Yaz is no longer on the market. This should have been my first clue that a generic form of a drug that was off the market might still not be safe. I started taking Lornya. About a week and a half of taking it, I felt a pain in my calf. The pain intensified to the point I could hardly walk. I decided to check on this and it was found that I formed a blood clot behind my knee. I was advised to stop Loryna immediately. I now have to take 2 shots a day of blood thinners for 3 to 6 months. I also think my IVF will be cancelled because of this. No history of blood clots."

For Birth Control "I will start this off by saying everyone's body is different and I am thrilled for the people this drug worked for! However, that was not the case for me. Switched from Blisovi to Yaz and finally to Loryna due to insurance issues, and have never felt worse than I have while on Loryna. While taking this drug, I experienced depression, hypomanic episodes, crying spells throughout the day, decreased sex drive, and really just not liking the world. I know it takes a while to adjust, but after only 1 week on this pill I have thrown my entire supply in the trashcan. Take this review with a grain of salt and don't be scared to try it, but if you start experiencing PMS symptoms all day every day just throw them away, not worth it when there are so many other options out there. Goodluck guys."

For Menstrual Disorders "This medicine is a nightmare. On it for 7 years after the second year my sex drive vanished and it became a chore. My cycle was normal. My spouse and I were fighting over the most ridiculous things. I was blaming him even when it was totally my fault. The moods affected my work, I lost a chance at a promotion, which I blamed my husband for. Now he convinced me to go to marriage counselling and after a few weeks she started talking about medicine . I did not want to take any mood medicine. I was advised to see my gynecologist about stopping the Yaz / Loreyna . After two weeks of being off it I was feeling great I was happy about things again. I was not having arguments . I even felt feelings I Had not in years. I feel normal again. Avoid this "

For Birth Control "After taking Loryna, I was diagnosed with blood clots on my lungs, causing a pulmonary embolism. This caused my heart to go into overdrive. I had shortness of breath, dizziness, nausea, and chest pain. I was in the hospital for 3 days and now on blood thinners for 6 months minimum. I just got home today."

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "After two months my daughter is having a severe adverse reaction. She has had CT, MRI and now being treated by a cardiologist for long term monitoring due to her risk of blood clotting and heart/stroke related symptoms. This is a very dangerous drug - and for what? Acne and PMDD? Please research before taking. Stop immediately with ANY adverse side effects."

For Birth Control "I have been on Loryna for 6 years now. I also have been on birth control since I was 17 and now 26, with no breaks. I have no periods ever or spotting. My face is clear normally. No weight gain at all, I lose weight more than gain. I have read mixed reviews about this birth control, it can be good or bad. I have had no problems with the pill unless I forget to take it one day then I may breakout with pimples. I enjoy this birth control due to no problems. I recommend trying it, if it does not work get off of it. Most birth controls are not good for you anyways its not healthy, but being a woman we all need it for many different reasons."

For Menstrual Disorders "I had such a horrible experience with this Birth control. The first week was fine. Week 2 to month 2 I bled the entire time and it wasn't break through bleeding it was full on period for two months. As soon as I stopped it within 4 days I completely stopped bleeding. I only give it two stars because it helped my light acne. This birth control is horrible for trying to regulate or stop periods."

For Acne "I started birth control because I was sexually active. I started using Ortho Tri Cyclen, but 2 years after using, I began having very bad Cystic Acne. At this point I was no longer sexually active but needed a bc to help my acne problem. My doctor recommended Yaz and my pharmacy gave my Loryna because it was in my insurance budget. After 2 months of taking this pill consistently, my acne stayed the same, I also started to experience stomach discomfort and bad migraines atleast 2x a week. Now on the 3rd month, my acne is the worst it's ever been, same with my migraines. I also have gained 11lbs since the first month I started Loryna (& I'm a VERY active person). It is very discouraging. Any advice?"

For Birth Control "I have been on Loryna (yaz generic) for 5 months now and have had nothing but a great experience. I lost weight with this pill, had my PMDD disappear, and have had ZERO side effects. It’s helped me immensely without even knowing I needed it. Please don’t let any review of this pill scare you away. It may not work for everyone but it’s definitely worth a shot if your provider prescribes it for you."

For Birth Control "So I started bc yesterday... no joke I'm hormonal as heck! Even typing this makes me want to cry. I mean I'm a small woman 21, 4"11 and I kind of expected to be like this. My doctor said it tricks my brain into thinking its preagnant so that certain part of my body stop working. Like in this case the inflammation that causes my deadly cramps. Now I'm new to this whole birth control but I think its normal to feel sad and gain weight and all that because of what women go through during pregnancy so though it makes me feel super tired its kind of a good thing cause get this, I'm an insomniac haha. These mood swings are laughable - when I catch myself crying because I didn't share my sandwhich with my two dogs. Long story short I'm hoping this works"

For Birth Control "I was on Yaz for about a year and decided to try the generic because of the cost of Yaz (about $60 a month, but had to pay $180 upfront for 90 day prescriptions). They gave me Loryna and I've only been on it for 3 weeks and I'm feeling miserable! I have extreme fatigue, irritability, moodiness and a little breast pain. I know they say to give the pill 2-3 months to work but I don't know if I can handle another 2 more months of these emotions. I've tried A LOT of generic bc pills in the last 5 years since they discontinued the one I was on and I've had problems on all of them. Sometimes those generic "inactive" or "filler" ingredients really do have an impact, be careful and wary of your side effects!! I'm going back on the brand Yaz."

For Acne "I went on Loyrna with little experience with birth control - mainly just wanting a contraceptive but also hoping to clear the hormonal acne I'll occasionally get. I'm only on week 3 but I can't go any further with it. I'm like the walking dead; constantly tired and in a zombie state. The worst part though is the HORRIBLE acne it gave me. I've had hormonal acne in the past but never in my life this bad. It's practically covered my ENTIRE face, including one the size of a quarter on my forehead. It looks like I'm about to grow a horn. It's just painful and my confidence has plummeted because of it. Terrible stuff- I can't stick it out for three months to see if it even improves because of how bad it is."

For Birth Control "First of all this pill will make u think you are pregnant by giving you all the symptoms of pregnancy. I had breakthrough bleeding for over a week and I just today stopped taking this birth control because of it. It made me depressed again. It made me uncontrollably mad for no reason I just can’t control my anger. So time to switch to a different one."

For Menstrual Disorders "I highly dislike this BC! My doctor prescribed me Loryna because I have PCOS causing irregular periods. So I decided to try so that I can regulate my period & it has been hell! I have been really emotional, literally crying about everything. I get really crazy break downs to where I'll sit in my car & cry for almost an hour. I fight with my husband over the most stupid things. & I over think about everything. Because of being depressed I turned to marijuana to cope. It is not me to feel depressed or to feel as if I wanna hurt myself. & the first time I got my period my cramps were so painful to where I didn't want to move. I had a huge blood clot that came out which never happens. Ever since taking this pill my face has been covered in acne"

For Birth Control "I have taken two other kinds of birthcontrol that gave me negative side effects so decided to switch to Loryna which worst decision of my life! The first week I had terrible nausea and couldn’t eat anything and I have also been dealing with depression, bad mood swings, low energy, headaches, and irritability. It did make me lose weight but there’s no way I’m staying on it due to all of the other side effects. If you’ve had issues with other kinds, this is ten times worse."

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "I'm on day 5 of Loryna and I am so suicidal I considered going to the hospital. I was trying it for PMDD, I did have success before on Lo Loestrin FE but I was having side effects of melasma and low libido so I wanted to try something else. This is awful. I've also had nightmares and nausea since starting it."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on BC before but had issues with depression. I tried Loryna and am 2 months in and can’t take it anymore! I have had headaches, probably gained weight, increased hunger, depression worse than I’ve ever experienced- crying over absolutely nothing off and on the first month then it stopped for a few weeks and it’s back worse than ever with intense mood swings! I have had brain fog, fatigue, and the mood swings/irritability that happened in the 2nd month have affected my life and relationships! I feel unable to control my emotions and I’m sure I seem crazy to the guy I recently started seeing! I hope this pill hasn’t ruined my relationship but I know it’s made me a crying, irritated, bloated lunatic! I’ve worked hard to be an easy going, emotionally stable adult but this pill makes me feel like I’m 2 sheets to the wind ugly crying and angry like I’m on a whisky bender. I don’t even drink anymore. I do not recommend!"
