For Birth Control "Horrible!! I’ve been on yaz for 7 months. Aside from breast tenderness, I was fine. Pharmacy suddenly started charging 4x what I had been paying, & gave me Loryna. I have experienced the worst gastro-sensitivity, stomach always feels upset. I’ve been dealing with dark gooey, light but constant period for 2 weeks now. I’ve had a constant tension headache, & a couple of vomit inducing migraines which I haven’t experienced in a decade. I feel so extremely tired, my fiancé keeps asking if I’m ok because I’m taking naps. I’ve been on this for almost 3 months now & it has taken me some time to connect the dots, but after research & talking to my doctor it’s def this medication. Switching back to yaz."

For Birth Control "My experience on Loryna has not been a good one. I originally had been on Yaz and Beyaz and had no issues at all! I thought they were miracle pills! I'm in my late thirties and wanted a birth control to help with my moods, breakouts, and period. Unfortunately, Loryna did the opposite for me. After five months of taking it I have decided to stop. I had bleeding for 2 months straight, acne breakouts on my chest, back, and face. And a ton of pain! As if my uterus was contracting constantly. I finished my last pack/pill and have stopped. Within 2 days of stopping, the bleeding stopped, the pain is gone and my skin is clearing up. I'm not sure why this happened but I'm finding generic birth controls are different from the brand. It's frustrating!"

For Acne "I really wanted to like this birth control. It cleared up my acne significantly and my period was light and around two days. Unfortunately about a month and I half into it I started itching like CRAZY. Anywhere I scratched little red bumps would come to the surface of my skin. I had no idea what was going on and thought I was allergic to my new deodorant and it took me about two weeks to decide to go to the doctor. She told me I was the second person to come in on the same BC with the same problems! She had me immediately stop taking it and the itching stopped within the next couple of days. Another note, this BC did make me extremely moody. So maybe it was for the best I was allergic to it!"

For Birth Control "I’ve been on Loryna for 1 and half months and stopped taking it. The first month it was okay besides breast tenderness. I have irregular periods so I went on birth control to regulate them. But by the second week of my second pack I felt extreme high anxiety. I’m not normally an anxious person, you know some anxiety here and there. But the amount of anxiety I was experiencing was not like usual. I was waking up almost every night in panic attacks and tossing and turning not being able to fall asleep. Then it started throughout the day, me being anxious just watching a movie, my mind would be racing. I remember not really being able to pin point what my anxiety was from but I woke up one morning and realized the new thing I’ve been taking is birth control. So I stopped it and noticed throughout the day already it has been much better with anxiety. Sometimes in the night I’m still anxious but I just stopped it a day ago.I don’t recommend this pill."

For Acne "Started taking this pill 3 days ago to help clear up my acne and almost immediately I was hit with immense nausea that left me bedridden for 2 days. Today I thought I was feeling better so I tried to workout again this morning but had to bail early because the nausea, and lack of energy left me crumpled on the floor. Going to the doctor today to change pills, even if this was a miracle pill that got rid of all my problems it’s definitely not worth going through all this suffering."

For Acne "I’ve been on Loryna for 6 years and it’s great. I used to have awful painful periods with heavy bleeding that would leave me crying in bed unable to move at 16 years old. I started on a different pill, can’t remember what, and it was awful. Made me moody and didn’t help. I switched to Loryna and saw almost an immediate difference. It cleared my skin right up for the most part, would only get a zit or two per period nothing major. And made my cramps go away almost completely plus made my period so light and only lasts a 3-4 days (but it’s so light I can use one panty liner all day long on the 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 5th day if I spot a bit towards the end). Had these continuous results since I started and I love this pill. Would 10/10 recommend to anyone looking to start on the pill."

For Menstrual Disorders "I've been taking BC pills for nearly 20 years to help regulate my cycles and ease the horrible cramping and mood swings. My insurance stopped covering the pill I was on previously, so I switched to Loryna. I liked the idea of only having 4 placebo pills compared with the 7 in my last brand. Pros of this pill? My sex drive was through the roof, and it felt like a love-potion for me and my guy "

For Birth Control "It took me a few tries to get the right birth control for my body and once I found Loryna, it was perfect! All my acne disappeared, I went from an AA cup to a B cup in bra size, and it made my painful and irregular periods go away and make them bearable and regular. I never had any mood swings, just normal PMS like everyone has. Slight weight gain but it went away after a month. This pill also goes well with anxiety medication I take so I highly recommend it."

For Acne "If I could give this generic a 0 I would. I began birth control (Apri to loryna) for my chest acne but it isn't helping. I switched from Apri to loryna because of an emptiness, as though I felt like I was dead inside. However, Loryna has made it worse!!! It was fine the first couple months, but as I started my 3rd pack, I began having anxiety attacks (never had them) and a worse feeling of emptiness. I'm constantly overthinking everything, and little things bug me so much more than usual! I had hip surgery during my last pack, so maybe the other drugs I took were causing my body to freak out, but that should have no affect for this month. I'm 19 and I'm concerned it will affect my relationship with my boyfriend soon!"

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "I took the Loryna birth control for approximately 3 months. I stopped taking it because of my insurance being terminated due to job loss. Here's my 3-month journey with Loryna birth control pill: On the first month taking this medication, I experienced a very, very painful, clotty, and heavy, long-lasting period. It lasted 2 days longer than my usual flow, totally 7 days (I normally bled for 5). During this time frame, I experienced severe PMDD symptoms. Despite that, I still continue to keep taking it. On my second month experience, it was a whole lot simpler and my period was regular again. Also, my PMDD symptoms were not as severe. I still had some sorrow and weeping, but no anger or fear. By the third month, I realized I wasn't suffering from proctalgia fugax symptoms at all (most likely due to the birth control preventing ovulation). It's been almost a month now of being birth control-free and I really don't miss ovulating. I never experience any prolonged bleeding. I rate this as 8."

For Birth Control "Before loyrna I was on so many different bc I tried Lo Lo Estrin FE, Sprintec, etc. I struggled with BAD hormonal acne and mood swings. My doctor prescribed Loryna for my acne and I was hopeful. The first three months were pretty nauseating and I lost weight but at about 6 months I started to notice a difference in my skin and mood as well as a big increase in my breast size. I’m currently a year into it and my skin is PERFECT, my periods are short and so manageable, my moods are much more leveled out and I feel great. I had a great experience with this bc and don’t be scared to try it!!"

For Acne "I’ve been on Loryna for a couple of years now (maybe 3 or 4?). I absolutely LOVE this pill for controlling my acne. It is the only other thing besides daily antibiotics (doxycycline) that have controlled my acne. I tried Sprintec prior to this and it did nothing for my acne. Short term, I have had no side effects from Loryna. No weight gain, no extreme mood swings, nothing. My only complaint and reason for considering switching is that after taking this long term, I recently developed spider veins on my thighs. I have NEVER had such a thing so it was very concerning as I am only 25 and in very good health, and as I know there are increased risks for DVT while taking this drug. Recently the areas on my thigh where the spider veins developed have become somewhat painful at work (as I stand all day). I attribute the development of the spider veins directly to Loryna as this is only medication I have taken the past couple years. It is such a shame because I absolutely love what it has done for my skin (flawless even during the time around my period), but the veins cause a large concern for me so I am heavily considering switching. Overall, I love Loryna for the shorter term, however if you plan to be on it for a few years, it may be concerning. I also know someone else who was on Gianvi (another generic for Yaz) and the same thing happened to her regarding spider/varicose veins."

For Birth Control "It completely worked for birth control. Even if I forgot to take it for a couple days, I never had a pregnancy. But the past 2 1/2 years i started to break out badly and I would feel a pain in the opening of my vagina during sex. It literally felt like I had a cut in a certain spot. I had it checked out immediately by my gynecologist and he couldn't figure it out. I stopped sex for up to a month to see if it was something that needed to heal and it never went away. It was so painful I would almost cry every time and it made me scared to have sex. I never once thought it could be the pill but I recently stopped taking it just to take a break and that pain went away in a week! And I also got pregnant within a month of stopping too."

For Birth Control "Absolutely horrible for me. I took this for over a year, and it gave me so much acne in the beginning. Horrible mood swings. This medication filled me with pure anger!! Loryna COMPLETELY destroyed my sex drive the entire time I was on it. It made my skin EXTREMELY oily. I hate this medication and I'm never taking it again."

For Menstrual Disorders "DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE. Seriously, just don't. It's poison. I have PCOS and was prescribed Yaz back in high school (I am 24 now, so 8+ years later). Yaz made me an emotional disaster, even having suicidal thoughts and fits of rage. I went on Lo-Estrin & had great results, before discontinuing after 5 years. Fast forward to now, and my new doctor prescribed me this. It was worse than Yaz. I would cry for hours at a time. I was so anxious and irritable. I was absolutely awful to my partner. I wouldn't recommend this to my worst enemy, 0/10"

For Birth Control "I was on Gianvi for 3 months and had to switch to Loryna because I had to switch pharmacies and they didn’t carry Gianvi. I’ve been on it for a little over a month and I wake up sooooo hungry. I feel like I’m starving I’m so hungry. Like I have to eat in that very moment. Also, my overall appetite is increased like crazy. I always have to snack or eat. So far I haven’t gained any weight but I could definitely see how it’s a possibility. Overall it’s an okay birth control. I’ve definitely been on worse."

For Acne "I took Loryna for two months. I didn't have any side effects except it gave me back zits! Gross. Every day a huge new one would pop up. I never had that problem with Gianvi so I switched back to Gianvi this week and zero back zits have formed. I'm sticking with Gianvi. Loryna and Gianvi have the same hormones but they are not made with the same inactive ingredients which can cause issues."

For Birth Control "I love this birth control I have taken on and off for many years, after a month of adjusting and taking it on time I do not have aide effects. I have less severe PMS and lighter periods. I was taking Yaz for PMDD I do not think it worked any better than Loryna..I have Great sex drive and have not gained any weight. I do feel as though my breast feel a tad fuller even though I have adjusted to the pill with time. I think this helps with water weight gain something I have suffered from due to PMDD. My skin stays clearer. Do not smoke on this pill. I would definitely recommend to those with severe PMS"

For Birth Control "So far so good! The first few days were a bit rough, I experienced some mood swings and negative thoughts, and some wild dreams, even a few pimples showed up. It seems the side effects have subsided and my body is starting to get used to it. I would definitely recommend trying it and giving it a few days, you'll start to feel like your normal self again."

For Birth Control "I was on this pill for about a month. What I loved about it is I felt great on it -periods were light, my headaches I had from previous bc were gone, I lost weight and even felt more balanced mood wise on this pill. I loved it. Then all of a sudden I got a breakout of eczema under my armpits. I have never had issue with eczema in my life. It was embarrassing because my armpits itched all the time. It also spread to my legs all of a sudden. My general doctor got some cream to put on it and it still was not clearing up after 3 weeks. I decided to switch back to my previous bc and within 2 days the eczema started to feel better and eventually cleared. I am not sure what I was allergic to in that medication but it didn't like me."

For Acne "So far I've only been on Loryna for a month now but I think I need to find a new brand. I was prescribed this because my acne has been terrible for the past 6 months and since going on it nothing has gotten any better in fact my chin actually looks worse. However, my biggest problem is the mood changes. I snap at everything and I'm always angry. I'm never like this, I've always had an amazing relationship with my parents and since going on the pill they've threatened to kick me out because of how bad my mood has been. Additionally, since going on the pill I've had my period the entire month, I'm not sure if that is normal or not but I'm tired of all the negative side effects."

For Birth Control "I’ve been taking Loryna for approximately 4 months, within the first week I had horrible mood swings, almost like there was a monkey on my back at all times. I have also been dealing with headaches almost daily since I started these pills so excedrine is always nearby. I thought I would give my body time to adjust to the new hormones but to no avail. I have absolutely no energy and want to sleep all day and have no issues sleeping at night. I have been on birth control for roughly 19 years and have never experienced this with any other birth control before. So now on to figure out what avenue to go down next."

For Birth Control "I have used this for about 6 months now. It definitely helped with making my periods lighter and a lot less painful. They went from being irregular and lasting 7 or more days to only lasting about 4 days with barely any cramps. The only downside of this is that it defiantly affected my mood and I’ve felt more anxious and depressed since being on this, so I will be switching to a different brand."

For Birth Control "I've been taking Loyrna for 6 months now and I'm 90% positive this is what is making me feel nauseous. I've been eating healthy and even try taking my bc with food but everyday I'm so nauseous to the point where I barely want to eat and the smell of food makes me want to get sick. I'm switching back to Lo Loestrin Fe . It did help my acne but it isn't worth it!"
