For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "Okay, so I’m here for all the people who are terrified and see all these bad reviews. Keep in mind, people are more likely to share bad experiences, so just remember there are good ones too! I used to take Gianvi, and then it sadly was discontinued. CVS started giving me Nikki. It was awful. So the pharmacist looked up other generics of Yaz, and he ordered me Loryna. I figured I’d give it a go. It helps me a lot, I used to have awful cramps, nausea, and migraines before my period. I also would have awful mood swings and would lash out at my husband. I haven’t had that at all with Loryna! I also skip the placebos because my periods are so rough, and that makes my life so much easier. If you’re scared and see all these reviews, just remember, everyone’s different! Give it a try, and if it doesn’t work, it’ll be okay! Just let your ob-gyn or pharmacist know."

For Birth Control "I’m 30 and have been on some form of birth control since I was 15. I started Yaz/Gianvi maybe 7 or 8 years ago and loved it! I was given Loryna 4/5 months ago. I must be an idiot because it took me up until yesterday to connect the dots. I’ve gotten my period every single month 10-3 days before finishing my active pills. I thought I was going absolutely crazy because I never missed any! I’ve had horrible cramps and bloating; my breasts have increased a full cup size and are extremely sore - the only time of the month I get any reprieve is when I stop the pill for my period, which is now 10 days long and super heavy and full of clots. I also have insomnia (fall asleep after 3 every night), cystic acne (this is new), depression, lack of energy, constant yeast infections/BV, and a feeling of constant PMS... Did I make myself clear that I am bloated and have cramps and breast tenderness EVERY DAY? DO NOT TAKE THIS PILL."

For Birth Control "I've been taking Loryna for 2 months now, and it's honestly been the best birth control pill I've taken. I've tried the implant, shot, and patch before. The implant and shot made me lose 20 pounds, and the patch made me very nauseous and made me throw up constantly. So I said, let me try something else. I read many bad reviews on this birth control, but everybody is different. I'm happy I didn't let the bad reviews stop me from trying. The first week on this, I did have headaches/migraines, but they went away. In the third week, I did get cramps here and there. This pill boosted my mood during the first month. I'm now almost done with month two. I did notice that for one week straight, I was extremely moody during my second month of taking birth control, but now I'm fine. I take my birth control every night before bed."

For Birth Control "I have been on Loryna for 3 months. There were no symptoms up until the second pack, I had heavy mood swings, got really mad at little things, and became very impatient. I had never had period cramps before birth control, and when my period comes, I get painful cramps, lower back pain, and headaches. People started noticing why I wasn’t “being myself.” I’m switching because I feel miserable. But my skin looks so healthy. You can’t base your experience with birth control on all of these reviews because everyone will react differently."

For Menstrual Disorders "I have been on this pill for over a year now. I have not had any negative side effects. No cramping or spotting or any weight gain. My bra size went from a 32B to a 32D, can't complain about that. I have endometriosis, and my periods without this pill were a painful nightmare. I was fainting due to the severity of my cramps, I was also vomiting due to the pain. I became anemic due to it too, but since going on this pill, it is a breeze. I usually skip the inactive pills and just not have a period, but when I do, it is about 3-4 days long with moderate cramping. Not as bad as before. I have no complaints or problems."

For Menstrual Disorders "This birth control made my life a living hell. First, my emotions went out of control. I was always moody, terribly anxious, and started to become depressed. Following this came the real reason why I am writing this review. I went on this birth control to help with my irregular and heavy periods. When the day came, I never experienced cramps so painful in my life. The only thing that I can compare it to is when I had to have an emergency appendectomy because it was about to explode. With this, my period was the heaviest it has ever been and has been going on for 2 weeks now. This pill did much more harm than good for me and I would never suggest it to someone."

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "I started Loryna for PMDD. Started on a Sunday. By Tuesday, I had 3 enormous, painful zits. By Thursday, I was in severe abdominal cramping pain. Similar to period/early labor pains. By Saturday, they landed me in the ER. Every lab test and ultrasound/X-ray was normal, so the only diagnosis that made sense was the pill. I'm currently on day 9 of my period, which would normally only last 5-6 days. Needless to say, it's in the trash now."

For Menstrual Disorders "I've been taking BC pills for nearly 20 years to help regulate my cycles and ease the horrible cramping and mood swings. My insurance stopped covering the pill I was on previously, so I switched to Loryna. I liked the idea of only having 4 placebo pills compared with the 7 in my last brand. Pros of this pill? My sex drive was through the roof, and it felt like a love potion for me and my guy."

For Birth Control "I have been on Loryna for about 9 months now. I have PCOS and struggled with heavy periods (sometimes twice a month), horrible cramps, mood swings, and acne. Since starting Loryna, I'm now able to skip my periods altogether, getting rid of almost all my negative side effects (still get pretty emotional around the time my period would come). I did gain about 10 lbs, and my motivation to work out is almost pretty low. I used to go to the gym 5 days a week and eat healthy. I now crave unhealthy foods more and dread the gym. Maybe this is just an excuse, lol, but I had to stop for about two weeks due to my prescription being shipped to a previous address, and immediately my motivation to work out and eat healthy came back. But back to a positive note: my skin has never been clearer, and I would recommend this birth control to a friend in a heartbeat."

For Menstrual Disorders "I'm 52 with heavy, long-lasting periods. I was hoping for a lot more results. I took it for 7 months, giving it a fair try. Unfortunately, it wasn't the answer. I have bad cramps, it's heavy, blood clots still. No sex drive, fatigue, it made me crazy, and I drove my husband away. I do not recommend it."

For Acne "I had tried just about everything for acne, from topical creams to antibiotics. I had been on various different antibiotics for acne over the past four years and was ready to stop always taking antibiotics that never truly cleared my skin fully anyway. It's my second month on Yaz, and I've noticed improvement in my skin without taking the antibiotics. The first month, I had a pretty bad breakout, mood swings, bad cramping, and cravings. I noticed a sort of constant breast tenderness and swelling, but especially so nearing my period. My sex drive has also significantly decreased, and in the first month, I would actually cry for no reason at all (moodiness). The best part is that my insurance covers this completely. I pay nothing out of pocket."

"Loryna is the only BC I have been on, prescribed to manage PMDD. It's so drastic I think I may also be bipolar, lol. Personally, my body's adjustment to taking hormones every day has been the worst part of it all. I am extremely sensitive to what I put into my body, so when I started taking, my reaction was violent. For the first 3 months, I had more frequent/intense cramps, irrational emotional reactions to everything, boobs sore and swollen EVERY DAY, majorly heightened anxiety/more easily depressed. - Positive changes: actual period is so much lighter/predictable, bleeding lasts for only about 4 days, yay :) MUCH LESS ACNE - Negative lasting effects: constant pain in breasts, NO SEX DRIVE :/ constant cramping, feels like I’m always in pain. **Stopped taking Loryna because my mood swings were still SO intense I wanted to remove the factor of taking hormones every day to see if I could stabilize myself. But my period was too irregular and even more painful without BC, so I am back on it now.**"

For Menstrual Disorders "I highly dislike this BC! My doctor prescribed me Loryna because I have PCOS causing irregular periods. So I decided to try so that I can regulate my period, and it has been hell! I have been really emotional, literally crying about everything. I get really crazy breakdowns to where I'll sit in my car and cry for almost an hour. I fight with my husband over the most stupid things. I overthink about everything. Because of being depressed, I turned to marijuana to cope. It is not me to feel depressed or to feel as if I want to hurt myself. The first time I got my period, my cramps were so painful to where I didn't want to move. I had a huge blood clot that came out, which never happens. Ever since taking this pill, my face has been covered in acne."

For Menstrual Disorders "I love Loryna! I've always had extremely heavy periods, and the pain was so overbearing for years. I used to go a week to two weeks. I had them much more so than the average period... like I would go 10 days after I stopped bleeding and then start for another week or so again. I've tried several different pills, and they've either made no difference or managed to mess me up more. Loryna is wonderful though! My doctor told me the first month may not show improvement, which was true... but she said after the second month it should work, and it did! My periods are so light, I honestly feel like I spot throughout the whole thing. AND they only last 6 days at most, which is a huge improvement for me. I rarely cramp, and when I do, it's nothing... :)"

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "Was given this in addition to Celexa to help with PMDD and general anxiety disorder. Was taking Jolessa for the past year, and it made my anxiety/PMDD extremely worse. On the second month of Loryna, and I am absolutely in love with this pill. In combo with my anxiety meds, it has taken away all bloat, my weight has started to decrease (gained 20 pounds on Jolessa), and my energy has returned. First period on Loryna was only 2 1/2 days with zero cramping. No acne. My anxiety and PMDD are still there, but instead of 2 weeks of nightmare, I had maybe 2 really bad days."

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "My PMDD was so severe I had to make a 'rule' that I couldn't end my life during PMS. This genuinely saved my life. My biggest regret in life was being too ashamed to ask for birth control because I was 13. I was on Seasonale, and taking it every day ended up with me bleeding for weeks. I didn't know what to do about it, so I just switched to the Depo shot. This made my appetite uncontrollable, and I developed binge eating disorder or bulimia. But since switching to Yaz/Loryna, I am able to be off my ADHD medication and not binge eat. I am so glad to be off Depo Provera, and aside from having horrible cramping when I attempted to do the placebo days or forgot a pill (these happened 2 days in a row, so it could've been a bowel problem), I have had no issues."

For Birth Control "I have been taking this birth control pill since I was 16! I am now 20, and within the past 4 years, I haven’t had anything negative to say. I love having the ability to not take the reminder pills and to have the ability to just skip my period altogether. This birth control works great for me, and I just keep an alarm on my phone to remind me to take it at the same time. I still do get very light cramping here and there, and spotting is rare but happens. I would honestly recommend this pill to many because it helps with acne, hasn’t made me gain weight, and doesn’t make me crazy. Birth control does affect everyone differently, but I feel as if this one is worth a shot coming from a long-time user."
