For Urinary Tract Infection "I’ve taken Amoxicillin many times for a UTI. It gives me a good amount of relief within 6-8 hours. The burning sensation and the bladder spasms usually subside within that time frame. I don’t experience many side effects except for occasional mild nausea and an annoying yeast infection. Those side effects are very common. I’ve also taken this for tonsil issues, and it helps tremendously. There aren’t many antibiotics I can take, but this is one of my favorites for my lupus-induced UTIs."

For Dental Abscess "I was prescribed Amoxil for a severe tooth infection. 1000 mg one in the morning and one in the evening. My jaw, cheek, and gum were still swollen in the first 3 days, as well as it was really painful. Then on the 4th day, the swelling had subsided, but the gum was still swollen. My dentist did a root canal on the 5th day with a swollen gum, then I continued taking this med for another 4 days. It got rid of the tooth infection completely, but it is very slow. If you have a tooth infection, this med usually works slowly on it, and you have to hit high doses to help fight the infection. And yes, it left a very bad yeast infection at the end, which grew to be a 'candida overgrowth symptom'-too much yeast in your gut, and I am still trying to get rid of it with antifungals, a low sugar and carb diet, and probiotics. I don't know why I got that yeast since I ate tons of probiotic yogurts while on prescription and immediately started probiotics after the treatment and still continue to take."

For Middle Ear Infections "This medication works amazingly for ear infections. I have had more ear infections than I can count in my life, both as a child and an adult. I have had ruptured eardrums, double ear infections, tubes, and surgery to repair my eardrums. This medication has always relieved symptoms. For mild to moderate infections, it starts relieving pain in 12-48 hours (but finish the whole prescription or it will return), and for severe or ruptured eardrums, it can take up to 5 days, but hey, it does the trick. Just take ibuprofen around the clock too, as it will speed up the process due to anti-inflammatory properties. I get nausea with this medicine, but only when I haven't eaten or am very overtired, and I always get a yeast infection. The doctor can prescribe medicine in advance for this."

For Bacterial Infection "I used this for getting rid of an abscess on my gums caused from a broken tooth. The issue seems to be a thing of the past. I am healed. The only thing is that it gave me a yeast infection. Other than that, took it as directed and am good as new."

For Dental Abscess "I went in for some pain after an injury to my front tooth. The first dentist told me, I'm young enough it can heal, it might get better. I'm 26. A week later, the pain was unbearable. They gave me Norco and a root canal at an endodontist. The surgery went excellently. For 2 days, everything was awesome. Then I got an infection with a nasty taste. I called them the 1st day they were open, was prescribed amoxicillin. It helped, and I started to get better from it. The amoxicillin side effects ranged from an increased sense of smell, yeast infection, and bloody diarrhea. I took my entire XR and was better. After 2 days off, I had an infection again. The pain seemed to be higher above the tooth this time. I contacted my dentist, who is sending me back for a 3D X-ray to inspect the area for a possible fracture or to find another reason it's not healing. Due to COVID shutdown, I have to wait 4 days until I'm seen again. Until then, I'm treating my infection with old leftover amoxicillin."

For Dental Abscess "This drug was prescribed by my dentist. I got a root canal, and he said it was to get rid of the bacteria. The first few days, I had a migraine and nausea. I also got a yeast infection. I finished the treatment, but I would not take this again unless I really had to."

For Dental Abscess "Cured the pain for my root canal and kept it from infection. However, that fact aside, guess what? I then developed a yeast infection. Ladies, it’s truly an unfair world for us. Most antibiotics cause yeast infections because they kill off our good bacteria. So just be cautious and keep a Monistat nearby if you’re a busy woman and need to get rid of that icky yeast infection fast while taking these antibiotics."

For Dental Abscess "I was prescribed 500mg for a toothache. Five days into taking it, I got a yeast infection. The yeast infection is getting worse as time goes on. Nothing but itching and burning. The tooth pain still exists, just not as bad. I'd rather have just removed my tooth instead of suffering from this yeast infection. It's a cheap drug, but the pain it causes makes it not worth taking."

For Bacterial Infection "Had strep infection of the throat, doctor prescribed amoxicillin, and within the third day I had gotten a yeast infection and broke out in hives all over my legs, stomach, and arms. I've had amoxicillin before and never had a reaction, I'm not sure if it was the dosage or not, but I stay clear away from it now."

For Urinary Tract Infection "So, Amoxicillin works fantastic for a UTI, BUT I'd never ever take it without a probiotic. I get a bottle of acidophilus (maybe a few billion cultures) at a big box store for under $6. The reason being is antibiotics kill bacteria, both good and bad. My daughter gets thrush, and I've NEVER had a yeast infection until on amoxicillin for over 3 days. These are side effects of good bacteria being killed off. My doctor advised me on this, and I've never had any more side effects!"
