For Bacterial Infection "I had a toothache for days, no sleep, and was taking pain medication. Within only one hour of taking amoxicillin 500 mg, I was feeling better, and the pain went away in two hours and has not returned. The tooth has a hole down to the root, but at least now I can sleep till it gets pulled."

Amoxil (amoxicillin) for Dental Abscess "Seems to be working well, had 3 teeth extracted, and my dentist prescribed this medication due to the slight swelling prior to the extraction, which has gone down considerably, along with the major pain and pressure that accompanied it before."

For Dental Abscess "Amoxicillin really does work for severe toothache/infection! At first, you're going to feel as if it doesn't work, but take ibuprofen along with the antibiotics, and it will do the trick. Two weeks ago, I was in so much pain that I had a panic attack and had to go to the emergency room for it. Now I'm back to normal, eating a little bit normally."

For Dental Abscess "Very painful mouth abscess infection. Doc says I need a tooth extracted. Was put on 500 mg amoxicillin, and within 12 hours, the pain has already subsided greatly, down to basically non-existent. Tooth will get pulled in 2 days, and I'll continue and finish the 7-day treatment of amoxicillin. No side effects whatsoever."

For Bacterial Infection "I'm 17 years old and have been using amoxicillin for the last month to keep my abscess tooth infection down. I have never had to drain my tooth at all. It works great with no side effects for me. I did get a little bit of diarrhea, but not much at all. No pain anywhere. Now, you do need to know that everyone's body will react differently to amoxicillin, so please don't go by what the reviews say. Test it out for yourself."

For Urinary Tract Infection "I’ve taken this drug many, many times since I was a kid. I took it a lot for strep throat, as well as before dental procedures. I recently took it for a UTI and it worked within a day. No side effects at all. All medication comes with risks, but this is a better choice than Fluroquinolones or some of the other types of antibiotics on the market. Take a probiotic with it, and assuming you don’t have an allergy you should be fine."

For Bacterial Infection "I had three 20+ yr old crowns replaced on 3 molars . Within 4 days after delivery of the new permanent crowns I started getting signs of an infection (I was not able to put pressure on one of the teeth) of the old root canal under newly replaced crowned tooth - I saw a dentist on the first available day after regular x-rays did not show any thing, he did a CT scan and it showed an infection on one of the roots . I was diagnosed with old root canal infection, and was prescribed Amoxicillin with Ibuprofen.. My Diagnosis - are pretty much having lost the infected tooth. At this point 7 days later and on the last day of taking my prescription 500 mg 3 times a day - all of my symptoms are gone, pain subsided on the initial day of taking it with a big dose of Ibuprofen , Day-2 no pain but soreness was still present, day 3 no pain , little soreness and ability to chew on that infected tooth Now on day 7 anything associated with root canal infection is gone"

For Bacterial Infection "All weekend I've been in agony with toothache. I was climbing the walls with the pain I was in. Being 9 months pregnant too, not a lot I can take for pain. Only paracetamol, which never touched it. Managed to get an appointment with my dentist and he said I have got abscesses inside the tooth. He prescribed amoxicillin 250 mg, 3 a day. Took the 1st one straight after the dentist at 12 PM, the pain was still there and was killing me. By the time I took the second one, the pain eased loads. Don't know if it's the amoxicillin or not, but what a relief, so I'll sleep better tonight. I think it's the amoxicillin doing its job."

For Bacterial Infection "I'm taking it for my gum infection, 500 mg caps 3x a day. The first two days on the medication, the side effects were pretty bad: extremely dizzy, sleep disturbance, headache, super strong appetite, dysphoria, severe indigestion, and extreme nausea. I'm now on day 3 of 7, and my mouth pain caused by an infection in my gums is gone. I'm still experiencing side effects, but they are at a level 3 or 4 instead of a 9 on the first day. I am so grateful to have found this new dentist. Another dentist gave me a different antibiotic a few months ago for the same issue, and it didn't work at all. I really hope this one fully gets rid of the infection. I can't believe how fast it worked!"

Amoxil (amoxicillin) for Helicobacter Pylori Infection "Suffered from heartburn and peptic ulcers every day and night for more than 30 years. An older doctor treated the root cause, not the symptoms, with amoxicillin & Carafate. I haven't used any antacids for more than 5 years now, and have been enjoying all the foods I like, whenever I like. Thank God for old doctors."

For Dental Abscess "I had severe jaw pain a week ago, pain was so bad I couldn't sleep, eat etc and I ended up in the E.R. I was prescribed amoxicillin, at first I felt like it wasn't helping cause the pain was still so bad. I'm now on my 3rd day and the pain isn't as bad but taking anti-inflammatory and tylenol does help a lot as well. The only thing is that all the pills I was prescribed to take, the doses hurt my stomach a lot, so now I'm on another medication to help with it. But overall amoxicillin does work, just give it a bit of time."

For Bacterial Infection "Have IBS, recently got worse so was giving this antibiotic incase I had an infection. Felt fine day 1, day 2 began to feel nauseous, abdominal pains, acid reflux, extremely tired, loss of appetite, headache and feeling very ill in general. I was taking 3x 500g everyday but only managed to get to day 2 till I stoped. Wouldn’t recommend this antibiotic if you already have stomach problems!!"

For Dental Abscess "We are in the middle of covid 19 quarantine. All dentists are closed and I ended up having my root canalled 1st molar infected. I developed a periapicial abcess just a few mm above my tooth on the gum. It started collecting puss on it. Dentist put me on amoxicillin antibiotics for 5 days, but I still felt tingling/throbbing in tooth so she said to eat one more 5 day dose which is two pills a day. I used the ones that dissolve in the water. Now I am here 2 days after I finished my Antibiotics. Dentist said to keep in touch 3-4 days later if my face would swell up. I hope not, but I feel weird feeling from my tooth and to my ear. Hopefully the infection has cleared. The abcess hasn't filled for at least 24 hrs, so keeping my fingers crossed, but I am really worried =("

For Urinary Tract Infection "I’ve taken Amoxicillin many times for a UTI. It gives me a good amount of relief within 6-8 hours. The burning sensation and the bladder spasms usually subside within that time frame. I don’t experience many side effects except for occasional mild nausea and an annoying yeast infection. Those side effects are very common. I’ve also taken this for tonsil issues and it helps tremendously. There’s not many antibiotics I can take, but this is one of my favorites for my lupus induced UTIs."

For Bacterial Infection "I got put on these today as I got a really bad abscess around my gum and tooth. My left cheek is so swollen I can't swallow or eat anything. I've taken the first 3, but nothing has changed. Seems like it's getting worse. Maybe it's just me and it's too soon to tell, but no side effects for me whatsoever, just makes me a bit sleepy. This is probably the worst thing I've ever experienced-so bloody painful and uncomfortable."

For Dental Abscess "The pain on the upper right side teeth were due to eating trail mix which had huge Walnuts and Almonds. In assuming pieces of the nuts may have cut my gums as now there was a huge swollen pocket of gum hanging in that corner inside my mouth causing not only pain there, but it traveled to the jaw, then neck. I phoned my my dentist whom called in Amoxicillin for me. The swollen ‘beehive’ pocket went down the next day, and steadily decreasing. Pain gone. No side affects. Working for me."

For Bacterial Infection "This antibiotic has basically destroyed my well-being. After a week of taking it, I was pulled out of sleep with the most terrifying panic attack. I had never had a panic attack ever, and unfortunately, it worsened to the point where I am pulled out of sleep 6 or seven times per night, every single night, and there is an overwhelming anxiety that persists all day, every day. The anxiety/panic does NOT result from a thought or a fear. Instead, it is a full body, nameless, reasonless, terror.....a rush of hot white heat, heat racing, face flushed, and abject terror. I have no history of any depression, anxiety, or mental illness, and prior to this drug, I was healthy. I have been this way since using amoxicillin, and have remained so for four terrifying years. I've been to every doctor and specialist imaginable, trying to find a cause and help. I see that there are dozens and dozens of other patients who have left a similar review."

For Urinary Tract Infection "I have been taking Amoxicillin 875 twice a day for 6 days for a UTI. Still have the frequency with urinating. Feel bad. Always tired and it doesn’t seem to help. Can not sleep at night medicine is not working. Been drinking lots of water and cranberry juice and don’t feel any better. Also have chills at times. Think I’m stopping this medicine because it’s not helping at all."

For Dental Abscess "After being in agony after my filling, I was wondering why my tooth was still hurting after a filling. After going back to the dentist a few days later, the X-ray showed I had a slight infection near the nerve of the tooth causing it to cause me tremendous amounts of pain. I was prescribed this amoxicillin and started taking it that day. I have taken 2 of my 3 tablets so far on day one, and I can say the pain has gone considerably. For the first time in a week, I am happy again. I really hope this sorts the infection right out, but so far, so good!"

For Bacterial Infection "I never liked the dentist and haven't gone for 35 years. About 25 years ago my gums would bleed every time I brushed or ate something. I would wake up every day with blood in my mouth and on my pillow. I would brush every day but the bleeding would still go on. I got bit by my cat 2 months ago and the doctor put me on Amoxicillin for 7 days. My gums are great now. I brush and floss 3 times a day and no more bleeding!! 25 years of misery until my cat bit my big toe!"

For Bacterial Infection "Taking amoxicillin for a tooth infection, the first day of taking it was horrible. The tooth hurt more than it did before I started, but I think that was the drug doing its job trying to fight off the infection. Second day, same situation, still more pain. The third day was great, finally no more pain from the toothache! Pain-free. Only thing is I woke up with swollen gums. Side effects from this drug are hard to bear, especially for me since I work 9-9. I was very tired on a daily basis, my body was weak, stomach pain, woke up in the middle of the night not being able to sleep. I mean, side effects were horrible, but I only had to take this drug for 7 days until I was able to get the tooth pulled. Thank God."

For Bacterial Infection "This drug was really effective in getting rid of my infection, but the side effects were difficult to deal with. The tablets made me so exhausted I really struggled to stay awake all day. My eyes would droop at my desk, and I felt lightheaded and dizzy. I found it extremely hard to concentrate. I had to leave work early taking this tablet because I could not focus, and many times, when my colleagues helped drive me home, they had to help me walk to the car because I was so weak and unfocused I couldn't walk in a straight line. I also felt nauseous for most of the day and had mild stomach cramps. It was wonderful for the infection I had, but it was the hardest week coping with the exhaustion and drowsiness."
