For Depression "I was prescribed Trintellix for my GAD and MDD. I’ve been taking 5 mg for a week now. The first two days I experienced nausea, and I am still experiencing headaches and some fatigue, which I suspect will go away in the next week. So far, I am very pleased with Trintellix. I have already begun to see a reduction of my GAD and MDD symptoms. Before Trintellix, I tried Paxil, Zoloft, Lexapro, Pristiq, and Effexor, all of which gave me horrible side effects and left me feeling very zombie-like. So far, no zombie-like feeling with Trintellix. I will post an updated review when I hit the 4-week mark. I’m hopeful that my GAD and MDD symptoms will continue to improve."

For Major Depressive Disorder "Excellent drug for my MDD/anxiety. Here's what I suggest: Start slowly. Cut a 5mg in half, let your body adjust for 4 days. Then go to 5 mg for 4 days. Then to 10 mg. Stay on it. Let it do its work. It has dramatically lifted my depression and anxiety and has helped me enjoy life, interacting with friends, etc. It seems to hit all the right brain receptors for me. I went up to 20 mg but didn't need it, 10 mg was enough and there are fewer sexual side effects at 10 mg. Low dose is enough to get my neurotransmitters functioning - no need to go higher. It might have taken me a little longer to get there due to the slower titration, but definitely worth it. Doc said to be patient and that climbing too high too fast will increase the risk of nausea, etc. Since I didn't have that, I'm thinking he is right. Good luck, I hope it works for y'all like it has for me!"

For Depression "I started Trintellix 2 months ago for anxiety/depression. I've been on Wellbutrin, which helps my mood and can counteract some sexual side effects, so I’ve stayed on it, but it hasn’t really helped my anxiety. I’ve been on Zoloft, Lexapro (horrible experience), and Cymbalta, all had side effects I ultimately found unlivable. Honestly, starting Trintellix was rough, but if you can manage, stick with it! I had pretty bad nausea but only threw up once within the first few days of starting, and I started super slow and low. No other side effects, and this is the first med that has not affected my sexual function. My anxiety is lessened, and I feel hopeful. The daily nausea has gone away, although I’ve noticed I’m more prone to motion/car sickness, but my doctor gave me Zofran for that. So far, this Wellbutrin/Trintellix combo is the best I’ve found for me. P.S. Go through their website to get your Rx card to help with costs, it helped my price tremendously."

For Depression "Been on it for over a year. 10 mg daily. Best antidepressant for me ever! Tried them all & all with HORRIBLE constipation & other side effects. This is the only one that took care of my depression & didn't have any awful side effects other than a little nausea in the beginning. No weight gain, no decreased libido. It's definitely worth a try!"

For Major Depressive Disorder "I have tried all the SSRIs and some SNRIs. Literally, Prozac, Lexapro, citalopram, Wellbutrin, amitriptyline, Remeron, venlafaxine, Pristiq, Paxil. I had slight symptom relief with Lexapro, however, the side effects outweighed the benefits. I started on 5 mg of Trintellix, I take it in the morning as it is a little stimulating for me. After the first week, I went to 10 mg. The only side effect I experienced is nausea, and that only lasted for about 4 days, it was not severe. I feel like a completely different person. If others have not worked for you, give this one a try. It has given me my emotions and concentration back."

For Major Depressive Disorder "I have NEVER posted about a meditation. I had to with Trintellix. This drug literally brought me from a dark hole back into the light. I’ve been through most medications and started to feel hopeless. I am so happy I have it and don’t care if I’m on it for the rest of my life. I’ve been depressed since age 11. I’m now 41. That plus years of anxiety was enough for me. Please give it a try. I started with 1/4 of the pill to introduce it into my system. I was so scared of the side effects I’ve read about. Then I went up to 5 mg about 3 days later. I only need 1 soda cracker for nausea. Ginger ale helps too. If you are truly suffering, give this med a try!"

For Depression "Generally speaking, I don't like antidepressants. I've taken Zoloft, Paxil, Effexor (which was the horrible one for me), Lexapro, Prozac...seems like I'm forgetting one. They've never made me feel 'better' or 'happy,' just 'numb' and 'flat.' With Trintellix, I started off at 10mg for 6 weeks. I go for my checkup tomorrow and will be increasing to 20mg. YES, I DID get nausea in the mornings for a couple of hours after I'd taken it. Taking it with food helped. That is a side effect that, for me anyway, went away within a couple of weeks. I expect the same with increasing to 20mg, but I think it's worth it in the long run. I actually feel HAPPIER! More energetic, want to do things, etc. Has been a miracle so far for me."

For Major Depressive Disorder "I have been on 20 mg of Trintellix for 6 weeks now, and it has helped me tremendously. Previously, I was on the maximum dose of sertraline for 2.5 years. It worked well, but I experienced a flattening of my emotions, low sex drive, and restless leg syndrome. After a major bout of severe depression about 6 months after getting off sertraline, I tried Lexapro, but it made me sleep all day. My doctor suggested Trintellix, and I've never been happier with an antidepressant. I noticed an increase in motivation after a week. At 4-5 weeks, I felt like myself when I'm well. I am (so far) not experiencing a single side effect. I had mild nausea at the beginning, but that's it. I know everyone's experiences with medication are highly individualized, but as a trauma survivor who does 'everything right' (exercise, therapy, nutrition, etc.) and still experiences severe depression, I am so grateful to have found Trintellix. I will update this review if this changes."

For Depression "I just started two days on this drug. I was told to take it with food in the morning to stop nausea. First day my stomach was upset but no vomiting. Today I took it after I ate and within an hour or so I vomited so badly my throat is completely sore. Is this normal? This is such an expensive drug, even with insurance I paid almost $200. I don’t want to discontinue the use just yet but I am not sure I can handle the nausea and vomiting. Anyone else having these same issues?"

For Depression "I had tried for about 18+ months to find a medicine that would help my depression. I bottomed out and was contemplating suicide. My doc prescribed me Trintellix. I noticed a difference the very first day. I was skeptical at first, but I got better and better as the days went on. I had a few occasions of nausea, and even vomited once, but that all went away after about a month. Trintellix saved my life, literally."

For Depression "I've been on most of SSRIs, SNRIs & Bupropion. My depression started to worsen & my Dr. suggested trying Trintellix with a caution that 1/5 people suffered from nausea severe enough to stop taking it. I started on 5mg in the morning and I'm not sure if it was the Trintellix, but my mood and depression worsened to the point of suicidal ideation. Fortunately, I was in a hospital environment. I suffered nausea but it was manageable. Around day 6, I started to feel a little better. By day 8, I actually felt happy for the first time in a long time. Additionally, my thinking became much clearer. Cloudy thinking had been a problem with other SSRIs. I'm now on day 10 and increased to 10mg with no adverse reactions. One lesson I've learned is that SSRIs do different things to different people. Given Psychiatrists don't know exactly how these drugs work/differ from each other, it's a case of trying one, giving it 6-8 weeks to work, and if it's not working go back to your Doctor."

For Depression "This medication has been a blessing. I have fibromyalgia, which has caused major depression. I have taken every kind of medication out there that treats both. Side effects from other medications were too much. My doctor prescribed this, although it does not treat fibromyalgia pain like most, it has made my mood much better. I feel much happier and more alive. I have only taken this medication for a month. Unlike most depression medications, I felt a huge difference the first day. Many people talk about the side effects of nausea with this medication... I did not have any. If I did, it was not a big enough deal to make me notice. Overall, I think this was the best antidepressant I have ever taken, and I have so far had no side effects."

For Major Depressive Disorder "I've been on Trintellix for about 7 weeks now. I've gone from 5mg to 15mg and about to start 20mg. I've been on many antidepressant meds for over 25 years and nothing has helped like this medication has. I do get the extreme nausea (that's why I didn't give this med a 10 instead of a 9 rating), so I take this at night and sleep through the nausea side effect and no nausea during the day. It has helped me deal with my PTSD, MDD, and anxiety. Now my house is clean, laundry is done, I take time for myself, react in a positive way instead of an emotional negative and defensive way. I have found with therapy and this med my world is changing and I no longer feel broken. My opinion is that it is definitely worth a try if nothing else has worked. This may just be the medication to put you back together again. The benefit of this med outweighs the side effects for me."

For Depression "Took 10 mg samples in the AM, nausea and dizziness were a big problem on the 3rd and 4th day. I stopped for 2 days. Then took half a pill in the evening around 8 PM. Had a little nausea, my sleep was affected but I'm adjusting. However, I believe it is what I need. I left the house 3 times on the weekend, answered my phone, went into 6 stores, and most importantly, while at home, didn't lay in bed."

For Depression "I am taking 70 mg of Vyvanse and also taking Contrave (which contains Wellbutrin). I was feeling okay, but multiple tragedies kept me in a severe state of depression, anxiety, and overwhelming sense of apathy. Every day I wanted to die. The doctor gave me some samples of this med to take with current meds, and last night was the first time I took it. I did feel nauseous, but my doc had told me to take it at night and with food, so that helped since I went to bed once I started feeling sick. I woke up with so much energy. I actually sprung out of bed ready to take on the day and looked forward to it. I was shocked that it had such a fast effect but so happy because it's been a really long time since I've felt this good. Hoping it will last."

For Depression "This drug has been the best antidepressant/anti-anxiety medication I have ever been on. I have been off and on different medications for the past 10 years. (Prozac, Wellbutrin, Cipralex) The first 2 weeks on this medication were rough with nausea and vomiting. My doctor encouraged me to push through the first two weeks, which I did. After 2 weeks, the nausea went away and I haven't had any side effects since. It's the first medication I have felt a notable difference with. My anxiety is very low. No more tightening chest, vomiting, diarrhea, not being able to breathe when in a situation that would previously make me anxious. Only butterflies in my stomach now. I have never felt better in my life. Very optimistic. Is this what normal feels like."

For Depression "Felt positive effects immediately at 10 mg. Had one day of diarrhea and some nausea, but that went away when I started taking it after dinner. I'm going to ask to be bumped up to 20 mg on my next appointment. Very happy with Trintellix. Works better than Wellbutrin, Pristiq, or Lexapro, and side effects are much less."

For Depression "I'm in my early 30s, been dealing with depression for almost 15 years. My former doc prescribed me Trintellix. He swore it was a super 'clean' med without side effects. It's been 2+ years taking it (max 20mg) and I had no positive effects. Don't let your doc tell you it won't/rarely cause weight gain. It does, especially if you're a female. It will continue the longer on it/dose increased. Also, awful GI problems - bad nausea or bad constipation. Also, it only makes anxiety worse, especially if you take it in the AM - take it in PM, you can't sleep ^_^ I would stay away from this drug, definitely if you have anxiety, a sensitive stomach, or are prone to weight gain from meds. I'm done off this in 4 days! Can't wait."

For Depression "Mid 30s with depression for over 4 years. Was on Lexapro 10mg, then 20mg for a little while, but it wasn't enough and the psych doc wouldn't listen to me or change my meds. So after 2 years of dealing with him, I switched to another psych doc who actually listened to me. First, she added Wellbutrin 150 then 300 XL. It wasn't such a great difference, so she switched me to Trintellix after insurance approval. She started me out at 5mg, then titrated up to 10mg, then 20mg. The first few days were the worst with side effects, but mine were nausea and diarrhea, that only got better in time. The feeling after being on this medication was great! I felt more like my old self again, happier, more motivated, less isolated, and got my sex drive back."

For Depression "Reading so many other people having bad issues with this drug has me somewhat concerned. But at least for me so far, I am thrilled with Trintellix! It is not cheap but my insurance pays a good deal. And I have a good job. So I am completely willing to pay. I was taking Viibryd. But it stopped being effective. I have had no nausea or stomach issues. I have only been on it about a month. It was working much better than Viibryd within a week. I am much less irritable. No sexual side effects. I take this for both depression and OCD. It is not labeled for OCD. But antidepressants typically also work for OCD. And it does for me."

For Depression "Trintellix is great stuff, and glad I've finally found the drug that suits me. Been on Trintellix for nearly 2 weeks and my mood is so much better. Head is clear and I can get on with my day with no problems. I did have nausea for about 3 days but it's not that bad. No effect on sex drive or performance. It's worked for me. I hope it works for you"

For Depression "Started on 5 mg daily for two weeks after taking Wellbutrin 300 XL and duloxetine 20 daily, which caused severe tinnitus, jaw pain, and bruxism, fracturing three teeth. Initially got some minor nausea but the jaw pain lessened and totally disappeared. I felt good with some minor anxiety. After 2 weeks, increased to 10 mg daily. Again, the nausea returned but was gone on day four. I do have some jaw tension now but not too bad. I feel more alive. Doing tasks is easier. My spouse says I look more relaxed. On a scale of 1 to 10, I give myself a 6. Laughter comes naturally now. Sad movies give me a lump in the throat and tears. Thank God for Trintellix as it is returning my life to me."

For Depression "This medication has been a lifesaver. I have tried so many different antidepressants (Prozac, Zoloft, Wellbutrin, Lexapro, etc.) and none of them have worked as well as Trintellix. My 'episodes' have disappeared and I finally feel stable, which has allowed me to make important life decisions that I was always too fearful to do. In the past, I felt that I couldn’t trust my emotions because they felt too extreme. After years of constant sadness, worrying, and lack of motivation, I am relieved to feel like my normal self. I had maybe 3-4 days where I felt nauseous, but overall, I do not experience this side effect. I have been on 10mg for approximately one month, and it’s been the most joyous month I’ve had in years. I highly recommend this medication."
