For Chronic Idiopathic Constipation "I started taking Trulance after dinner, and within the hour, it worked. I was so excited! I've tried so many meds in the past 20 years, and none helped like this pill. I didn't have any pain, and BM was not explosive like Linzess."

For Chronic Idiopathic Constipation "I'm sick as a dog as I type this. I feel beat up and sore with terrible spasms after being on the commode all night. I feel really bad because my doctor really wanted this to work for me and fought so hard with my insurance company to get Trulance approved. He wanted me off of Lactulose, but I cannot go back to that due to the same symptoms I'm having now. IBS has ruled my life for so long, and I eat so healthy and exercise, but I just cannot 'go.' I live a life of constant pain and spasms...."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Constipation "I began Trulance about a year and a half ago, soon after it was released onto the market. For years, I had taken a probiotic, and my pain was worse. I did a Miralax regimen for several months, with no luck. My doctor then put me on Linzess, which was the most miserable I’ve ever been in my life. I was prescribed Trulance and have had very few problems since. If I maintain a diet and eating schedule, I have a regular BM every morning. I rarely have pain, if I do, it is caused by gas or not taking my pill on time. Trulance has drastically improved my confidence as I reclaimed my health."

For Chronic Idiopathic Constipation "I also have IBS. I have tried Trulance for about 10 days now. I have not had any diarrhea or relief other than a bit less pain in the abdomen. I have, however, had extreme ear pain, irritability, continued side pain, urination pain, dizziness, and am more lethargic than before I started the terrible drug. I did not take any today, and after being awake for 5 hours, I sat down and fell right asleep in my recliner. I am awake now but looking forward to more sleep as I finish this post. I’m seeing my doctor tomorrow to have labs done to check my liver."

For Chronic Idiopathic Constipation "On Trulance, I had nothing but daily pain after three weeks' usage. No improvement at all. Even tried enemas to get things going and... nada. Also, I have been binge eating and gaining lots of weight. Going to discontinue. I hope others have more success."

For Chronic Idiopathic Constipation "I started taking this a little over a month ago. Was taking it for 2 or 3 days straight and had trips to the bathroom for long periods after. I had enough at that point because you can't live a normal life. I called the doctor, told him I'm done, and he advised me to take it every other day. He advised me that it has to work into your system and to stick with it. It does upset my stomach some for a short time after, but nothing like it was when I took it daily and do not take any dairy because that makes it worse. I've noticed that if I skip an extra day, my stomach gets more upset when I take the next dose. Does help with the issue, but I'm not sure it is a long-term answer. I still have the side pain I originally had, but it has subsided some. Hope this helps."

For Chronic Idiopathic Constipation "I wish I could report a positive experience with this drug, but I cannot. After one week, I had such severe side effects that I stopped. I think this drug was pushed to market without adequate testing, as I know two other people who tried this drug with horrible results. As for myself, after the week, my abdomen hurt so much I cursed the day I started it. It has been three weeks, and my abdomen is still so sore eating is not even on my mind. I would not recommend this drug to anyone. It produces a modest bowel movement, but the side effects far outweigh its effectiveness."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Constipation "Took first and last dose at 4:30 PM. Two hours later had first bowel motion (BM). Was on the toilet 14 times over seven and a half hours after taking the pill. Rectum very sore and some bleeding. Two more times after midnight when my sleeping pill took effect. This was worse than Linzess, except it only took about 30 minutes for BM after Linzess. Never again."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Constipation "Tried Trulance for 3 weeks. Have a history of IBS-C. Have taken Miralax for 3 years each night. It worked, but lots of bloating and discomfort. The first week on Trulance was okay, but hard stools. Progressed to very hard stools, terrible bleeding, internal and external hemorrhoids. Tried adding Citrucel upon doctor suggestion. Made everything worse. Stopped taking it, using stool softeners, but will probably go back to Miralax. Maybe I’m different as I have celiac, but I do not recommend. I’m now backed up with terrible pain."

For Chronic Idiopathic Constipation "I tried one tablet around 2 PM, and within the hour, I was on the toilet with a runny evacuation, then bloating, then more diarrhea, more gas, even more runny evacuation. This lasted until maybe 8:30 PM. That night, I experienced pains running through my body, my arms and legs hurt so badly. It’s hard to describe, not sure what that was. I think it was from the Trulance medicine, so I’m scared to take another one. I had a loose evacuation the next evening, and this was without taking another tablet on day two. I’m considering taking the tablet every other day but not sure. Someone mentioned weight, which is a huge neon green, orange, and red flag for me to stop. I want to lose weight, not gain it. Plus, I’d think cleaning out would reduce one's weight. Anywho, my verdict is on the fence for now, I don’t know. I am elated to have a BM, given I can maybe go once a week."

For Chronic Idiopathic Constipation "I’ve taken Trulance for a little over a year now, and what once was an answer to my prayers is now nothing but a waste of time. I was going regularly for the first 10 months or so. Today is day 4 without going. I have pain, bloating, irritability, nausea, and just want to cry. I asked my doctor if this is normal after taking it for this long and was told they have heard that happens. Sadly, I am back to square one."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Constipation "Was prescribed a sample of this for slow digestion and constipation and no movement after taking Miralax daily for 6 days. Took it after a meal, and within 30 minutes, my stomach and butt started rumbling. Had several small movements (liquid). Ate again later, and the rest came out rapidly but cramp-free and pain-free. Everything was good until I woke up at 5 am feeling like I had the flu and was going to have diarrhea and throw up. Took a Dramamine chew, and neither happened, thankfully. The next morning, I can still feel my colon moving and making noise. It works, but be sure that you're home or near a bathroom if you eat anything. It basically turns your stomach into an instant juicer."

For Chronic Idiopathic Constipation "Trulance was awful, it just caused more pain, and I’m still constipated, so it has done nothing! Awful, awful, awful."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Constipation "I’ve had IBS-C for about 5 years now. They started me on Linzess, and I have taken all the types of doses it comes in. Even though it worked, it made me still spend way more time in the bathroom due to constant diarrhea, almost so bad I couldn’t hold it in. After years of running to the bathroom all day every day or sitting in bed in pain from not taking it, they put me on Trulance. At first, it took a while to come around as I thought it was worse than Linzess or didn’t work, but after giving it more time, I realized I mostly only have one or two good movements a day that don’t cause pain. I can even skip it for a day and mostly still have a good movement on the skipped day. My only complaint is that sometimes it seems to move a bit too fast for my track, and I have pale diarrhea, which after all my testing the doctors say is that side effect. I would really recommend it, but just advise to give it time because it definitely didn’t start well for me but has now become my lifesaver."
