For Rosacea "Have been using Metrocream for a week now, and my rosacea is much worse than prior to using the cream. I had only redness, but within days of using, I had a flare-up and got bumps which got progressively worse and spread. I tried putting a bit of Metrocream on a section of skin with no rosacea, and within days had redness and a rash pop up. It may be an allergic reaction, but either way, I'm trashing Metrocream and seeking out more natural remedies and solutions."

Metronidazole topical for Bacterial Vaginosis "I was due for a Pap smear, and after a couple of weeks, my physician's office called me advising I had an overgrowth of bacteria in my vagina. I couldn't understand that as I never complained of any itching, odor, or smell, I just went in for a Pap smear. After 5 days of administering this gel, I developed severe pain when I urinate. I called my physician, and I was told to drink cranberry juice and take the cranberry supplement by AZO, this didn't work. Now I'm taking an antibiotic, Ciprofloxacin HCl 500 mg for 10 days, twice a day, which caused intense itching. Thursday is the last day for pills, and then I take the 1-day pill Fluconazole tablet 150 mg. What a horrific experience with the gel, it burns my clitoris."

For Rosacea "I've been using it for about 2 weeks. After the first few days, I noticed a considerable difference in the size of my pores. I tend to have oily skin, and as a bonus, this medication seems to decrease oil production. I will keep using it."

Metronidazole topical for Bacterial Vaginosis "This gel is amazing, and I have used it on and off for years, but now my body is paying the price. I first noticed that each time I used it, my hands would go numb, then my vision began deteriorating with astigmatism. Now it's at the point where my hands go numb quickly within a half hour of using this. Just be aware and careful. I used it about six times a year for 15 years. Cannot use anymore."

For Rosacea "I think this stuff is great. I have rosacea that seems to run in the family, worsened by the dryness of winter. I've been using this for a week, and it works pretty well. Apply it once before bed and another time during the day, and my skin has significantly improved in redness. The scaliness of rosacea is also gone. Would recommend."

Metronidazole topical for Rosacea "I started using Metrogel 3-4 months ago because Metrocream is not available anymore. Unfortunately, it isn't working as well as the cream, as some bumps are starting to appear on the area treated, and this medication is supposed to keep that from happening. It never occurred with the cream. I am trying to find a replacement at this time."

Metronidazole topical for Rosacea "I long for the days when you could get MetroGel 2%, that was REALLY effective! Now it seems you can only get it in the 1% option, which is only effective sometimes and for mild cases. WHY do drug companies do this to us? It's so upsetting..."

For Rosacea "I had mild to moderate rosacea and started using the Metro cream two weeks ago. I saw improvement within the first week. I've been using it twice a day after washing my face with Garnier sulfate-free gentle cleanser. I have dry skin, so I then use CeraVe lotion with SPF 30 in the a.m. and CeraVe Skin Renewing Night Cream in the p.m. These combinations have really worked for me. I think I am ready to cut back to once a day in the p.m. I've been rather impressed with CeraVe moisturizers and the Garnier cleanser. I'm 63 years old and was very frustrated by how my skin was changing, having had pretty good skin throughout my life. My skin is now clearer and brighter with no eruptions."

Metronidazole topical for Bacterial Vaginosis "I’ve been suffering from BV non-stop after high school. I’m 22, and it is very annoying. I feel like I’m not clean, if that makes sense, but the doctor did tell me a lot of women have this issue just because we’re women. They prescribed me MetroGel, one dose every night for 5 nights. I can’t tell if it is clearing up my discharge because I have the medicine coming out when I wake up. It looks gross, but I read it’s normal. I’m done with my gel and took one dose of Diflucan (anti-yeast) after my gel, and on the 4th day since finishing medication, I still have symptoms, and the gel is still inside. I got discharge with blood and got scared, but I read that’s a side effect. I guess I just hope my BV and yeast go away. I didn’t even know I had yeast to begin with. I’ll keep y’all updated. Hope this helps."

Metronidazole topical for Rosacea "Have used this medication for months and found it to be ineffective in controlling the rosacea. I continued to use it only at the urging of my physician, applying it three times daily with no symptomatic relief."

Metronidazole topical for Bacterial Vaginosis "I'm 28, never had BV before. The MetroGel was easy to use, but I would have some slight cramping after inserting it. I used it for 5 days. I do have this white clumpy discharge and a slight odor, but it isn't fishy or foul. I'm just hoping this gel hasn't messed up my vaginal pH or going to cause a yeast infection."

For Rosacea "I have found the gel to be extremely helpful (more so than the cream). It does take continuous use for me, but it's worth the relief. I also use it on my ears for relief from flushing/burning sensation. Having the rosacea under control has also helped tremendously with my dry skin."

Metronidazole topical for Rosacea "I treated my face with MetroCream for years, and it worked quickly and effectively. It was also covered by my insurance. Recently, I ran out and discovered MetroCream was no longer available and has been replaced by MetroGel. Not covered by my insurance, MetroGel cost me $188.19 CDN + tax for a single tube. If that isn't bad enough, it simply does not work. I feel like I was mugged."

For Rosacea "I had mild rosacea when I started using Metrocream 0.75%. It made me break out extremely badly all over my cheeks and nose. I think it clogged my pores, making the redness and rosacea much worse. Very disappointed in the setback it gave me."

Metronidazole topical for Rosacea "I used Rozex for perioral dermatitis, this is a very irritating condition on my face. I was given the wrong treatment initially, which made the condition worse. I then spoke with a doctor who actually knew what he was doing, and he prescribed Rozex and a 4-8 week course of antibiotics. The Rozex cream worked almost instantly, reducing the redness and making it less irritating. Within a week, I could hardly see my dermatitis. A win for me."

For Rosacea "I had serious rosacea that I allowed to go undiagnosed/untreated for years. Until the point it affected my eyes, and then I knew I had to do something. I have been using this cream for 5 days now, in addition to a sulfa wash, doxycycline daily, and CeraVe moisturizer. The results are slow (but my case was extreme, so keep that in mind), but I'm starting to notice improvements in the texture of my skin as well as decreased redness and swelling. I use it 2 times daily. My advice is to be patient with it. Don't expect overnight results, but I think you will be pleased after strict continued use within a week or so."

For Rosacea "I am 71. I have had small bumps on my face along with red, visible veins on my cheeks for years. I also have small bumps below my eyes, which I have never been able to get rid of. My dermatologist gave me metronidazole gel because he said it would get rid of the redness and bumps. I started using it, and the veins have faded, the bumps are gone, and a surprise is that the small bumps under my eyes are shrinking. My skin is not dry any longer and looks amazing. Great stuff."

Metronidazole topical for Bacterial Vaginosis "So I feel like I always either have BV or a yeast infection. I went to the gyno for severe itching and was given an oral dose for a yeast infection. That went fine. My results came back, and I also had BV, so I started the 5-day vaginal metronidazole gel. I hate it. The first couple of days, I felt weak and dizzy. I’m on the last night, thank goodness. These past three days, including right now, I’ll get a terrible headache in the evenings. I never get headaches. Super weird. Really uncomfortable. Also very anxious and irritable. Hope this all goes away after tomorrow. And I pray I don’t get a yeast infection. Literally just took medication for one."

Metronidazole topical for Bacterial Vaginosis "This is for anyone scared to take this! I was so scared to take this after reading the reviews. I put it off for so long and suffered from BV for 8 months. Discharge and a horrible smell. I wish I would have used this sooner! Do not hesitate to use this, it gave me my life back! Smell and discharge were gone after one day. I used it for five days. It is easy to insert, I had no side effects, no burning, no discomfort. The gel clumps up into white chunks that come out when you use the bathroom. But it was worth it! I took a probiotic also to prevent a yeast infection. I’ve been BV-free for a month now!"

For Bacterial Vaginosis "Very unhappy, have had BV for 4 months. Every time I take what I'm prescribed, the test after the medicine is positive, meaning it never went away at all, not even for a while. Struggling a lot because of the recurrence. At this point, I'm told I have to do a gel for 6 months, and that is if that even makes it leave. I have no sex life anymore. If I decide to take the drug, they said that's 10 months no sex. I'm in fear of my partner leaving for something that cannot be cured. Will I ever have a life again? Will I ever not feel ashamed or filthy because of this? The doctors keep prescribing things for a UTI, yeast infection, and BV 'metro' antibiotics, nothing helps. I don't want to live my life like this. There needs to be more studies to find the actual problem of why the BV is recurring in so many women who have given their whole lives up to fight this."

Metronidazole topical for Bacterial Vaginosis "Was prescribed this medicine. Had to take it every night for 5 nights. Had the side effect of thick, white, clumpy discharge, which my teledoc believed to be a yeast infection. It also itches mildly. The discharge is odorless, though, so I think it absolutely cleared the BV but gave me my first yeast infection in the process. I can't wait until my vagina is back to normal."

Metronidazole topical for Bacterial Vaginosis "I was diagnosed with BV and took this medicine perfectly for 5 days. After the first day, I got severe, crippling anxiety attacks, which are very uncommon for me. I also had an upset stomach, cramps, and diarrhea for a week. The symptoms of BV never cleared up. I started my period after day 5 of medicine, and after that, I was back to square one. It did not work at all for any of the symptoms, except the smell of the discharge was less bad, so that's why I gave it a two instead of a one. Still trying to find a medicine that helps me! This is so frustrating."

Metronidazole topical for Bacterial Vaginosis "Garbage. It takes it away for a little while, and right back again it comes. I've been going through this for 15 years now. As far as I'm concerned, this medicine causes it to reoccur, which I feel like the government and pharmaceuticals purposely did to make MONEY."

Metronidazole topical for Rosacea "Used MetroGel 0.75% on my rosacea for one year. Worked well, but it became quite expensive; a small tube cost around $200. Switched to 1.0% MetroGel at the pharmacist's recommendation because it was much cheaper; $50 for about the same amount. It also worked well for almost two years. Quit using it January 1, 2020, when my tongue became inflamed. I reviewed the adverse effects, and one website noted a metallic taste in the mouth and cold-like symptoms among other effects. Years earlier, I had an adverse reaction to amoxicillin, thrush/sore mouth and tongue, so I was aware that adverse effects were possible. I also had a nagging cough for about two years, starting before going on the 1.0% MetroGel. Until the inflamed tongue issue, I never thought the cough was linked to the MetroGel. The MetroGel worked very well until I developed adverse reactions."

Metronidazole topical for Bacterial Vaginosis "I used Metronidazole vaginal cream 10% for bacterial vaginosis caused by washing too much. My only symptom was a yellow discharge. I was very worried to start the treatment because of the reviews, I was scared of the side effects, and I waited for a month before starting. I’m on my last day of treatment, and the only symptom I had was a bit of a headache at the beginning and, today, mild cramping. Symptoms are very minimal. I have no more discharge."
