Provera (medroxyprogesterone) "I am 35 years old. No children, never been pregnant. I was diagnosed with PCOS IN 2014. I started taking this drug to jumpstart my period as it had been 3 almost 4 months without. My Dr. recommended I start birth control to try and regulate my period. I started this on April 15th. By April 22nd I started get pains on my upper right side almost cramping like near my rib cage. It’s been a week with these on and off again pains. I finished the medication on the 24th and started bleeding Tuesday. The pain still comes and goes. I am a little nervous as to what this could be. Anyone have this kind of experience with this drug?"

Provera (medroxyprogesterone) "I was missing my period after taking plan b pill..so after waiting for 45 days for periods to come , the doctor prescribed me to provera 10mg for 10 days. I took pill for 9 days and somehow missed to take it on the 10th day.. three days after stopping my pill , I got the periods..it was not very scary. Yes I bled little heavy on the third day but it was manageable. I had aches in my thighs and my back. I would suggest to buy the panties with pads in them, cos it ll be easier to use and dispose.."

Provera (medroxyprogesterone) "I've never had a period. I'm 32 years old. Me and my husband want to try to conceive a baby naturally. Doctor put me on Provera to kick start my ovaries, Because they are half the size of a normal size ovary for my age. It has been 5 days, two 10mg pills a day. So far nothing. I'm starting on another 5 days today. So far 2 bad dreams, and one panic attack. Nipples sore, and cramping below navel, but nothing serious."

Provera (medroxyprogesterone) "I went without a period for 7 years and also had other fertility issues. If I didn't get prescibed this medication I wouldn't have been able to conceive. I don't remember having side effects because I was so happy I got my cycle! The first time I took provera it took 2+ weeks to get my period I thought it hadn't worked but to my surprise It had! So happy my obgyn prescribed me this."

Provera (medroxyprogesterone) "During the ten days on Provera I was emotional, my boobs hurt severely, my face broke out like crazy, and I had horrible fatigue. Two days after the 10 days of taking Provera, I have the worst period I have ever had in my entire life. Having to change my pad/ tampon every single hour was disgusting, I couldn't even enjoy a shower because even afterward I still bled non stop. Each day that passes, the heavier my period gets. Today is my 6th day, and 4,5,&6 where heavy as hell, but 5&6 had excruciating cramps. And too many blood clots! :( I do not recommend this pill at all."

Provera (medroxyprogesterone) "I took Provera about two years ago for 10 days and it worked great for me. I also had to take Clomid on days 5-9 of my cycle and got pregnant on my third cycle. They both worked amazingly. I am now going to try again hoping to have the same luck."

Provera (medroxyprogesterone) "I was prescribed Provera for 10 days at 6pm every day. I have had no period since my early 20's and then it was only on meds. I have long history of hormonal problems and have been diagnosed with Amenohrrea as many of you, and I have been in and out of IVF specialist clinics while they all tried to sell me theirs since and no one would actually help or give hope to concieve but they were all quick to say that I had premature Ovarian failure however, I never gave up and found a Dr. a fertility specialist and although I am over weight, have been found to have thyroid issues, and have a thin endometrium with high I repeat high levels of Estrogen. I was prescribed this little pill aka Provera. So ladies do not loose hope, ask God & trust!"

Provera (medroxyprogesterone) "I have taken this medication before. A couple years ago I went 9 months without a period, and I was prescribed this medication at 10mg for 10days. The 3rd day after the 10th pill I had a normal period. More recently I haven’t had a period for 16 months. I have PCOS. This is the 3rd round of 10mgs per 10 days and nothing has made my period come. Starting to give up at this point. Super disappointed."

Provera (medroxyprogesterone) "Stopped seeing my periods for 5 months after using Oralcon contraceptives. I then went to a gynecologist and they said I have one 4cm fibroid. Then on the 6th month I had my period but it was super heavy. When I woke up in the morning I couldn't walk and when I sat on the bathroom seat, clots just fell out....like so many clots. Went to a doctor, I was given Provera take for 10 days and then after I saw my periods. Today is my third day and they not heavy, hopefully they stay like this. I have minor period cramps but not so bad."

Provera (medroxyprogesterone) "I hadn't had a period in 3 months. My doctor prescribed me Provera 10 mg once a day for 10 days. She stated if I get my period in those 10 days to stop taking the pill at that time. Today was day 7 and my period came. I had no side effects from this medication. I had normal cramps at the onset of my period this morning. It seems to be a normal beginning flow as with any other time I had my period. I will report back to let everyone know how long it lasted."

Provera (medroxyprogesterone) "I’ve started taking Provera for having missed a period for a couple months and trying to conceive. I’ve had irregular periods in the past on and off because the doctor told me I’m “somewhat poly cystic”. I’ve taken the 10mg for 10 days. While taking it I felt moody, had acne break outs, breast tenderness, and mild nausea. I started spotting on about day 4 after taking it. I’m now on day 6 and have SEVERE cramping to the point it hurts to breathe. I remember taking this in the past and it made me have the worst period ever. I know the lining needs to shed and when it does it’s going to be sooooo heavy. Guess the pill does the trick, but just have to be ready for the pain :("

Provera (medroxyprogesterone) "I've always had normal periods before and while on birth control pills. I was on the pill for about 8 years. After stopping birth control, I only had 2 periods. 4 months had went by and my period was still absent so I decided to make an appointment to visit my gynecologist. I did blood work and everything came back normal so she decided to prescribe me Provera to take over 10 days. I was extremely nervous to take it because of the side effects I could possibly experience. I took the pill for 10 days and had no side effects at all. Typically I'm an over thinker so I began to wonder if it was even working for me. 2 days after stopping Provera, my period starts and it's normal. Reading reviews before taking Provera really helped me have an idea so I hope my review helps the next woman who may be experiencing this!"

Provera (medroxyprogesterone) "I'm 26 years old and have always had irregular periods. Recently found out that I have PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome) and was prescribed provera. I took it twice a day for 10 days...and started bleeding about 3 days after they finished. I can honestly say it was the worst period I've ever had! It was very heavy & I felt sick and dizzy. And I was so emotional and I never get any sort of PMS usually. My period also lasted for 10 days. It stopped on Sunday there and I'm bleeding again today (Thursday). Is this normal? Has anyone else experienced this?"

Depo Provera (medroxyprogesterone) "I have a really hard time taking estrogen birth control and I decided to get the Depo shot. After reading the reviews I was so scared I canceled my appointment to get it. After thinking about it I decided to just go ahead with it and see what happens. I've been on it a little more than 3 weeks and I've noticed that I am a little more tired and I have some pimples that are starting to go away. Other than that I haven't had any spotting, tender breasts, sex-drive changes, etc. Usually before my period I eat non-stop and have cravings and it's nice to not have that! I will write again to update how it's going in a few weeks. I wanted to let people know not to be terrified. It may work for you and if it doesn't just don't get another shot."

Provera (medroxyprogesterone) "Stopped taking it 2 weeks ago. I've had cramps, back ache, a huge zit on my face. I am 50 in December. Haven't had a period in a year. Gyn gave me Provera due to a thicker than normal lining. Don't know what's next? Just want some relief. I'm so bloated it's not even funny. Look pregnant. This medicine didn't work for me."

Provera (medroxyprogesterone) "Medication works by inducing a period. After taking this medicine I had to take clomid and I conceived on my 4th round of medication. It works. Be patient and good things will come. I am now trying again to conceive and yes I am taking provera again and I just started my 1st round of clomid."

Provera (medroxyprogesterone) "I was prescribed this drug Provera due to not having a period for several months and wanting to get pregnant. I was given 10 day supply and I had painful stomach aches. So bad that I didn’t take it the last 2 days. My period came just a few days later and it was not heavy but pretty normal. Around the 4th day my cramps became unbearable. Never experienced such pain before. The doctor wants me to continue to use this drug if I don’t see my period again next month. I’m not sure I can go through with it again."

Provera (medroxyprogesterone) "Provera is an effective medicine for amenorrhea. I would like to share my experience here: When I didn't get my periods on the regular dates, I went to gynecologist, he told me things are okay, the reasons of delay he told me were hormonal imbalance and stress. He gave me certain medicines and a syrup of herbal medicine to get the periods and make it regular. But, I didn't get the period inspite of taking them. So, I googled this medicine out, and got my periods after taking provera 10mg tablet daily for 5 days. I would like to thank to all who reviewed this medicine earlier."

Provera (medroxyprogesterone) "First, I'm from Brazil, so forgive my bad English =]. I have PCOS and decided to stop taking birth control pills 8 months ago, I know it's expected irregular periods for a while but I was on 70th day of my cycle...so I decided to take Provera for the first time ever(doctors here only prescribes metformin or bc pills for PCOS). I took 10mg for 7 days and 5 days after the last pill, my blood came!! Yay! It was a regular flow and light cramps, the only thing I noticed during the 7 days was food cravings and crazy dreams."

Provera (medroxyprogesterone) "I came off the pill over a year ago and my cycles have been super irregular. My doc prescribed me provera to bring on a period as I hadn't had one for about 3 months. I managed to bleed a day before I finished my 10th pill (I was given 10 pills) I mean it's great to bring on a period but I was under the impression it would regulate my cycle thereafter but that is not the case. So it doesn't really help at all with irregular periods? A bit pointless to say the least."

Provera (medroxyprogesterone) "I'm 18 and had very regular periods every month for 4 years and they stopped for no reason. Played the wait game & before I knew it 3 whole years has passed. 5 day 10mg provera challenge starting July 1st and on July 9th, 4 days after my last pill got my period. Not a terrible period for me like everyone else. A little heavy, mild cramping but my periods use to be worse. Also, does anybody know if it's true if my periods come back on their own after 3 provera cycles? Read that a few places but idk if it's true."

"I am now on 10 mg of Provera for 10 Days each month . My doctor has me on it for a year. I have PCOS so I do not ovulate normally and it caused absent periods. Well thanks to PROVERA I have now had my cycle for 6 months straight. I take my pills on 19th of each month and have my period like clock work on 30th of each month... I can say however I have a few side effects I have bad PMS symptoms and are super irritable at times..and I feel little off as well. But I'm just thankful to have a period. Thing is IDK if I am ovulating or not because I have not tried too get pregnant. However I am ready too start trying for a family. Wish me luck guys"

Provera (medroxyprogesterone) "Back in 2011 I was diagnosed with unexplained infertility and prescribed Provera to induce a period and Clomid to force an ovulation. We were coming to the end of my medications and I was told I’d be referred for IVF as it wasn’t working. I took the last dosages of medications and now I have an 8 year old daughter because of them! Currently on day 6 of a 10 day prescription again as I’ve not have a period in nearly a year and I now have been diagnosed with PCOS. Starting to feel cramps and am finding that I’m quite easily agitated."
