For Type 2 Diabetes "I've been on Jardiance for 6 months. I have had a yeast infection for months, burning, itching. My feet and legs have tingling and pain. I am going to speak with my PCP about another medication. I am no longer going to continue on this medication with so many side effects."

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I have been taking Jardiance for a year now. I have noticed over the past 6 months that my bones started hurting. I ignored it and never thought that this medication was the problem, but in the last two months, the pain is severe and I can barely walk."

For Type 2 Diabetes "At first, I really loved this drug. My glucose levels were better. I have only been taking it a couple of months and got the worst vaginal yeast infection of my life. (Haven’t had one in 15 years.) My feet hurt all the time, and I can’t walk long distances due to severe leg pain. I have never had leg pain like this, I am always the energetic one that is ready to go on a hike. This week, I wanted to do a hike in Sequoia Nat’l Park, but I just couldn’t do it due to the severe leg pain and roaring yeast infection. I think when I get back home to Texas, I need to get on a healthy low-carb lifestyle and stick to it, along with moderate exercise. This experience while on vacation was a huge wake-up call. Today is June 8, 2021. I am scared of Jardiance and the possible long-term complications of its use."

For Type 2 Diabetes "This is the worst medicine that I have ever taken. I had a yeast infection that was misdiagnosed as vaginal dryness. The yeast infection got to be so bad that I was bleeding, unable to walk and sit (the pain was excruciating!) and my vaginal area is still raw... Still. This is July 6th and I have had this yeast infection since early April... NOT GOING AWAY. I have only been off of the medication for two weeks. It is starting to get better, but it was so bad that it has taken time! THROW IT AWAY. It is not a good drug at all!"

For Heart Failure "I take 10 mg of Jardiance for heart failure and type II diabetes. I am not obese. It worked well and lowered my fasting blood sugar by 50+ points. However, I got a weird yeast infection and was constantly sobbing and depressed. I also had minor aches and pains, but they were manageable. The side effects of Jardiance don't make this a medication worth taking for me."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I've been using Jardiance for a year now. I suppose I should say I used it for a year, but I'm also no longer taking it. Initially, I had no problems, and it did seem to reduce my blood sugars (though not substantially). Since December, I have had an insane amount of back and hip pain, UTI, and yeast infections that have rendered my life miserable. I've had a very dry mouth and dehydration feelings since the beginning. Three days off the meds and my hip pain is gone, I no longer have dry mouth, and my blood sugars are staying where they've been. The benefit has not outweighed the enduring misery. Listen to your body!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started out for the first three weeks thinking this was great. I was having headaches the whole time and didn’t associate that it was the pill. I started on 10 mg after three weeks. The doctor wanted me to update to 25 mg, but I didn’t because the 10 mg was just fine and I was afraid the 25 mg would bring on side effects. Good thing I didn’t take it, as 2 to 3 weeks later, I was tired constantly and had no energy. It seemed like I was wide awake, but I couldn’t get up and move. The headaches continued. The thirst was insane, and I drink like I have a camel's hump full of water. Urinating up to two times an hour really started to worry me about my kidneys, and I was having back pains in that area, but I’m not sure what it was. Another week later, my legs were hurting all day. I just thought I was tired and on them too much. I got into bed, and that was the worst thing I could’ve possibly done."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I was first placed on Metformin, and I suffered from abdominal pain and diarrhea for about 6 weeks and requested to be taken off it. My physician then prescribed Januvia, but after several months with no side effects, I didn't get much in reducing my A1C either. Then I was placed on Jardiance 10 mg because heart disease runs in my family and also to lower my A1C. I have lost some weight, about 203 down to 186, and have had no side effects whatsoever. I have lowered my A1C to 6.7, but I would like to go lower, and I will discuss with my physician adding another drug such as Janumet or Tradjenta."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I was on this drug from about 10-2018 to 5-2019. This drug gave me yeast infections, my doc did not do anything until my yeast infections got so bad. I had lymphedema, and the pain was horrible. I am better thanks to a good doc and medicine. This drug needs to be taken off the market, it is deadly."

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "Hmm! I started taking Jardiance in June 2017, and I have not felt the same again. These days, I am experiencing pain in my bones and muscles, especially the muscles in my feet. I can barely walk with the pain in my feet. I get numbness and a burning sensation in my feet. I am stopping Jardiance today and using diet to control my blood sugar. What a medicine!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "I was prescribed Jardiance 4½ months ago by my doctor. And starting with 25 mg and going down to first ½ tablet, then to 10 mg and now 5 mg (1 tablet). But I have nothing positive to say about Jardiance. I have had a lot of side effects: abdominal pain, dizziness, headache, extreme thirst, sinusitis, itching, tiredness, nausea, vomiting, raised triglycerides, raised hematocrit, muscle stiffness, yeast infections, and now hair loss. No sleep at night - I wake up to pee 3 or 4 times during the night. And my A1C has risen more than 10%, and the weight loss is about 1 kg :-("

For Type 2 Diabetes "So I started taking samples of Jardiance for diabetes almost a year ago and was doing great. A1c came down, lost weight, but it seems that once I started getting the actual prescriptions for it, I began to have severe itching, you know where. The frequent urinating didn't bother me at all, but the pain and the severe irritation I cannot handle. It made other things painful. (If you know what I mean.) I think this is a temporary drug. It shouldn't be used long-term, if you can handle it in the beginning. It seems that everyone is pretty much saying the same thing. If it wasn't for the itching and pain, I would continue to take it. I'm taking myself off it."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have only taken this medication for a week and had to stop. The need to go pee every hour, including at night, is keeping me from sleeping, and I drive for a living. After only just a week, I also got a yeast infection, and my back is in constant pain. I am also incredibly thirsty, and this medicine has increased my craving for sugary drinks, which I have not drunk in years. The second day on this medicine, my blood sugar was 302. This is a number I've never had before. My blood sugar reads about 200 on a bad day and generally runs at an average of 150. My week on this medicine, my average blood sugar reading was 220. Two days after going off, my blood sugar started going down again. This medicine raised my blood sugar significantly."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Terrible! This is 3 months on it... nausea, stomach pain, extreme tiredness, urination every 45 mins, muscle weakness, horrible that I can't make my bed without resting, shortness of breath, dizziness bouts, liver pain, fatigue, and my sugar never has gone down. I feel this stuff is very dangerous."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I was taking Jardiance when I became infected with the flu virus. I developed body aches at the highest level I've ever experienced in my life! Next, my neck area swelled up, and there were giant, softball-sized lumps on either side of my lower neck area. I developed a huge rash that looked like a yeast infection all over my groin area. I went to the ER, where I was diagnosed with stage 4 ketoacidosis, and the doctor told my family I had only 4 hours left to live! In ICU, the doctor put me on insulin, and I began to improve and spent an additional 2 weeks in the hospital with pneumonia. The side effects of Jardiance are so life-threatening, I will not ever take this medication again, it's just not worth it, and my blood glucose numbers didn't improve enough to justify the risk factors."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been taking Jardiance for the last 6 months. I lost 9 kg within 6 months. It did not control my sugar as I expected. But I have pain and irritation in the places where you all have mentioned. However, I did not find it serious. Can anyone suggest better medicine than this? My GP says that this will better protect your heart."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I do not like Jardiance. It’s causing me to be so tired I can barely function. Leg pain, back pain. I just thought it was from my back, but after reading some of these remarks, I’m beginning to see that it could very easily be the medication. But then I get this urge to go to the bathroom to urinate, and when I get there, I can’t go. I went to my doctor today, and he gave me medicine for a yeast infection. If this is what’s causing me to be so excessively tired and painful, I got to get off it because I cannot function like this. I feel like I’ve been hit by a Mack truck. So I’m not gonna take any more starting tomorrow. Thanks for everyone’s input."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I was told today to stop taking Jardiance. I have had two UTIs in recent months. I have gone twice for a urine test because of the constant pain and uncomfortableness in the lower region. At first, I thought this would be my wonder drug, but now I wonder if I have done damage. I was grateful for the Jardiance program that paid for my drug."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Have been on Jardiance for one month now, have noticed I got a severe cold. I was down for 3 weeks, now I have severe bone pain in my back, my hips, and my shoulders. I'm using a cane. I see no difference in my morning numbers. In addition, I was up all night at least four times per night to wee. I also drank two bottles of water per night because of the increased thirst. My mouth was so dry, it feels like I could never get enough to drink. I do eat a very low-carb diet, I do admit I cheat once in a great while, not often. It's usually a taste. I didn't see a reduction in weight, I'm adding it up to how much water I've been drinking. I've called my doctor asking them to discontinue this medication for me, but I didn't get an answer back, so I decided I'm stopping it on my own right now. Also, I take insulin Lantus, which I stopped first as a test on myself. Three weeks off insulin makes me think the offender is Jardiance."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Dr. prescribed Jardiance to help get sugar buildup out with urine. It has been horrible with constant yeast infections. I have never in my life had one. Burning with or without urination. Terrible thirst, sugar has been running 96-128. I am on Metformin. In the last 7 months, I had lost 17 lb before starting Jardiance. The medication is very scary, your whole body aches. No energy, and the yeast infections. Always on your mind. I am done with this medicine! Please beware!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "After two and one-half weeks of taking the medicine Jardiance, I began to experience muscle cramps. The muscle cramps became worse every day while taking the med. I thought the whole time I had experienced a strained muscle in my back, however, while treating the pulled muscle, the pain and spasms got worse. I have contacted my doctor, and since have stopped the med."

"I was on this for about 2 weeks, following a heart attack, started feeling light-headed, like I was about to pass out, not funny when driving! Pains and numbness in my legs and ankles, I did not like this drug one bit! Stopped it for 3 days now and feel great! Look up the side effects (by the way, my pharmacy had the leaflet removed from the packet of pills, was it so I wouldn't see the side effects?) Side effects are bad to horrendous for most people, with genital gangrene a real possibility! FDA, get your act together and withdraw this drug now!"
