For Eczema "I was one of the first to be put on Dupixent when it was approved - back in June of 2018. It worked very well for quite a while. I had severe eczema on the back of my neck, elbows, back of knees, and around my eyes. It cleared up pretty quickly after using Dupixent for a couple of months. Now, however, for about the last 2 months, I have experienced the side effect on my eyes. My eyelids are constantly red, inflamed, and itchy. My eyes are constantly tearing. My dermatologist gave me a prescription eye drop to take - it has not worked. He said he does not think it is a side effect of Dupixent, that he believes it is simply an eczema flare-up, possibly due to the weather in New Jersey. The Dupixent people disagree - they think it is a side effect of Dupixent. So my dilemma is - do I stay on Dupixent and continue the eye problems or go off Dupixent. To be perfectly honest - the last month or so, it seems the Dupixent has not been working as well."

For Eczema "I used Dupixent for a little over 4 months. It cleared my skin completely. The skin on my body was baby soft, and itching became occasional (like a normal person). Prior to Dupixent, my skin was rashy, red, cracked, weeping, itching, burning, with raw spots, almost everywhere since birth to 27. I discontinued Dupixent, got conjunctivitis twice, and got eczema on my face where I had never had it before. My eyes were itchy, dry, red, and I was scared the moisture would never be restored. I also developed sores around my mouth, which was the last straw. I’m in marketing, and I need to look nice for work. I’m back to eczema everywhere and treating with tubs of steroid ointment... praying for those who understand."

For Eczema "My first few doses were helping a lot, taking the itch away and clearing my skin. My 4th dose made my eyes very red, my dermatologist referred me to an ophthalmologist to check the pressure in my eyes. Pressure was okay, only some inflammation in the whites of my eyes. So I continued the Dupixent injections, red eyes and all, then I started getting small, red, pimple-like spots on my face along with redness. When my joints started aching after the 6th dose, I stopped Dupixent. It has been approximately 2 months, and the redness on my face is finally going away, my eyes cleared right after stopping Dupixent. I seem to think the dose was too strong for me. But there’s only 1 strength. I’m still itching and having breakouts and don’t know what to do at this point as nothing seems to work."

For Atopic Dermatitis "Started on Dupixent six weeks ago. Skin cleared up, itching was reduced 85%, big relief, but within two weeks after my first dose, my eyes started to bother me. Itching, swelling, redness, dry eye, conjunctivitis. Way too many adverse side effects. Med does good, but has alarming bad side effects to the eyes. Went to Dr., told me to stop taking shots."

For Atopic Dermatitis "I have had AD for at least 67 years of my 70 years on this earth. My life as a child was hell because of weeping, medicated baths and teasing by other children. My adult life has also been equally affected by the use of corticosteroids on my skin, which is now permanently affected due to chronic steroids. When my new dermatologist brought up Dupixent about six months ago, I was skeptical and scared. I started March 22. I STOPPED itching in 24 hours. It has been a MIRACLE. Scratching is now due to habit but not itching. My skin has lost redness. I am glad about my success but sad when I read about my fellow ADs who continue to suffer despite Dupixent."

For Chronic Rhinosinusitis With Nasal Polyps "I thought Dupixent was a miracle drug. It completely cleared up my sinus polyps and asthma, however, after the first two treatments, I developed an allergy at the injection site. Even the first two injections that worked were severely painful. I tried arms, thighs, and belly. In addition to pain, after the first two treatments, I developed a reaction on my skin at the injection site. At first, it was a small area, red and itchy. As I continued treatments, the red area increased from about 2 inches to about 4 or 5 inches in diameter in an amorphous shape with a dark red border around it. Eventually, that reaction came with bruising and severe muscle ache at the site. When I tried to inject in my belly, the pain was so bad that for a week, I couldn't bend over to even pick something up that I had dropped. Yes, it cleared up my polyps and asthma, returned my sense of smell, and my eosinophil count dropped. But my intolerance for Dupixent didn't outweigh the benefits. Everybody is different. Good luck..."

For Atopic Dermatitis "After the 2nd Dupixent injection, broke out in a rash on legs and small patches on the body. Also, red blotches and skin very hot. My skin doctor took one look and had never seen a reaction this bad, so I discontinued Dupixent immediately. Had high hopes, but Dupixent didn’t work for me. Hopefully, other people will have better results, worth trying to control dermatitis."

For Atopic Dermatitis "My daughter was born with eczema, tried lots of creams, and nothing has worked. As she grew, became a teen, it has got out of control. We heard about the shot and couldn’t wait for it to be approved for kids. She is 15. She noticed not itching within a few weeks, but had big patches on her face, and her neck is covered in redness and flaky. They wanted us to continue with shots, and we did from August to October. We had to stop them. Her neck and face have never been so broken out. Hate it didn’t work. Now on to cyclosporine."

For Eczema "I have had eczema my whole life. I started using Dupixent about 3-4 months ago and saw significant results within a few weeks. Recently, however, the redness and itchiness have been returning, and I am concerned. I read in the studies that 20% of the patients in the trial saw results initially (within 3-4 months) but then developed an immunity to the drug so that it was no longer effective. I hope that this is not the case for me. Hoping this is just a minor flare-up."

For Eosinophilic Esophagitis "I use the pen, and it is definitely a bit spicy. I take it on Sunday mornings and have found if I take it out of the fridge the night before, it helps a lot. It’s towards the end of the injection that I have to wince a bit. It’s just a sharp kind of pain, but it’s not unbearable. Once it’s done injecting, the pain pretty much stops immediately. That being said, the area is swollen for a bit, sometimes I get a big red welt that looks like an allergic reaction, but it’s not. Just an injection site reaction that seems to be normal with this medication. It’s gone by the next day. The injection site does not like band-aids. I’ll put one on for a bit just to catch any minor seepage or blood from the injection, but I’ll take it off after 15 minutes, otherwise, the redness and swelling are 10 times worse. All that to say, it’s done wonders for me. With the first dose, my eczema cleared up, and I haven’t had any more “allergic reactions” or issues eating really anything."

For Eczema "2 weeks on Dupixent, and I have seen improvements. After a whole body breakout. After about the 2nd day, my skin started to scale and peel. I've never seen so much peeling skin. I am still peeling, just not as much, and my skin is starting to become smooth again. I've also been moisturizing all day long. In this 2-week time frame, my skin has also been red and pink in the areas that are broken out. I'm not too sure, but I think in the next 2 weeks, I should see more improvements."

For Atopic Dermatitis "This is my first time on an injectable biologic, and I was especially scared after reading some of these reviews. But in the summer of 2021, I had topical steroid withdrawal (TSW) after 30+ years of using one or another steroid on my face and body. When I stopped the steroids, my face swelled up so badly urgent care thought I was stung by a bee. The swelling would be accompanied by extensive itching and weeping that would make my face swell even more and then finally crust over painfully before subsiding, only to happen again 5 days later. Dupixent saved my life because even though it was clear I had to quit steroids, the side effects from the withdrawal were so traumatic and frightening. The first month of Dupixent wasn't easy - my face and chest area turned beet red and was itchy/hot the first month. But once that subsided, I had the best sleep of my life as I didn't wake up itching! I'm in my 4th month, and the redness/hot feeling is completely gone. No other side effects. Give it a try!"

For Eczema "I have had eczema my whole life, from scalp to feet. It had been a nightmare. I started Dupixent about 4.5 months ago. About 2 weeks after getting the initial dose, I started getting cold sores weekly. My doctor put me on a daily dose of Valtrex, and that has subsided. It took about 2-3 months for my skin to clear up. My face and neck have cleared up, but not as well as the rest of my body. I still have peeling skin on my face and some redness. There is some eczema on my neck and chest. Overall, I am happy with the results. I am a lot less itchy. I just wish my face would heal as well as my body. Hopefully, in time, it will heal too."

For Eczema "Redness, swelling, itching at the site. Can spread up to 10 in diameter. Upset stomach a couple of days after injection. I’ve been on Dupixent since 12/22. Otherwise, when it comes to the eczema, my skin has really been good."

For Eczema "I started using Dupixent in November 2022 and initially administered the shots on my thighs, which were painful. However, the pain usually subsided within a minute or two. I later tried injecting it in my upper arm and noticed that it hurt less. During the first month, I experienced redness on my face, dry and itchy eyes, and severe pain in my lower back and thighs. My doctor prescribed eye drops, which significantly helped to alleviate the dryness and itchiness. Although the redness on my face has disappeared, the pain in my lower back continues, which is unusual as I never experienced such pain before starting the injection. After using Dupixent for almost 5 months, the itchiness has subsided by 80%, and I can now sleep peacefully at night. Additionally, my skin looks much better, and the eczema spots are gradually fading. Unlike steroids, Dupixent has not caused any weight gain or increased appetite. Overall, I am delighted with the positive results of Dupixent and regret not starting it earlier to spare myself from all the suffering."
