For Bowel Preparation "I have heard nightmare stories of prepping for a colonoscopy, from family members. I was very hesitant. First of all, I don’t drink much water to begin with. I started the day before prep with a liquid diet. The next day I started my prep after more liquids during the day. The taste was sweet, taking the advice of reviews, I used a straw. I drank water right after, that was harder than drinking the prep for me. I switched to sprite, as it was easier for me to drink. I had first bowel movement within 20 minutes. I went every 10-15 minutes for about an hour, but didn’t have to run to the bathroom. I didn’t spend long in the bathroom when I did go. Trips to the bathroom, were further apart in time. I took the second dose and it was very much the same as the first. I never felt the rush to get into the bathroom, it wasn’t “violent” episodes as people had described. By the time I had to go to the hospital, about 35 minutes away, I was basically done."

For Bowel Preparation "I gave it a 10 out of 10. Best Bowel prep I have used! There are 2 small bottles of super sweet liquid. Took it in sips with lots of other water/liquids. Not hard AT ALL (considering I had vomited up prior high volume preps). Not a fan of sweet drinks so mostly drank chicken "not your average bullion" in between, with water, tea, etc. One dose in the evening, the other early the morning of. Easy as can be. Rate 10"

For Bowel Preparation "Not bad at all. The taste is okay. I would really recommend using a straw and washing your mouth out after drinking because it does have a lingering taste. I drank the required clear liquid for both parts within an hour of drinking the prep, and it started working 30 minutes later. What comes out is pretty much water. I had no rush to go to the bathroom and was able to sleep through the night between preps."

For Bowel Preparation "This prep smells pleasant but is difficult to drink after the first swallow. It made me feel bloated and a little nauseated for 2-3 hours, and it took about 3 hours before it had some effect. The same thing happened with the second dose. On top of that, it made my rectum bleed. That was a first with a bowel prep. And lastly, it did a poor job of cleaning my bowels. This is my 5th time doing this, and this was the worst bowel prep! Give me a Miralax and Dulcolax combo any day! This stuff was no good!"

For Bowel Preparation "It’s 12:18 AM and I’m typing this as I sit on my bed in agony waiting for the next mad dash to the bathroom. Let’s start with the taste....imagine drinking salty acidic artificially sweetened sugar water. It’s DISGUSTING! The first bottle at 5pm I chugged like a champ along with 5 8oz glasses of water thereafter. Round two however and your girl is struggling. Halfway through bottle No. 2 and I got hit with a massive wave of nausea. I literally had to gag down the rest of the solution. Now I’m trying to get through 5 more 8oz glasses of water and this much water on an empty stomach is making the nausea even worse. I’ve been going to the bathroom ever 15 minutes or so since 5:30pm. Now with bottle number 2 I imagine I’ll be up right until my colonoscopy in the morning. The good news is there is no abdominal cramping, but the taste and the nausea have left me with no desire to ever do this again."

For Bowel Preparation "It did not work at all. I did everything exactly as prescribed but nothing. This really makes me mad. Guess I’ll have to get some prep that works and do everything all over again. Gee thanks, Clenpiq!! Lousy product!"

For Bowel Preparation "Couldn’t be happier with this preparation!!! Prepped using the split dose method. Used a soft diet the day before the prep that included white bread toast and Kellogg’s Corn flakes, and 32 ounces of Gatorade. The day of prep, drank tons of water, the small bottle of prep ( about the equivalent of approximately three or four shot glasses) . Followed by second small bottle next morning together with 3 cups of water. The syrup tastes very sweet but found that when warm chicken broth was taken between sips, the broth was amazing for treating the after taste. Will definitely use again in the future!"

For Bowel Preparation "48 yr old female doing prep because of diverticulitis. Clenpiq did it’s job. Liquid diet all day then took first bottle of clenpiq at 4pm. Not fun to drink but I’ve had to drink bottles of barium for other tests before so this was nothing compared to that. I dry heaved after drinking the first half of the bottle but then took deep breaths and finished it ok. Started to work within an hour. The second bottle was harder to get down. I drank that at 9pm. This time the diarrhea was much worse, it would hit so fast I barely made it to the bathroom in time and it was only 10 feet away. Slept off and on, basically on toilet every hour until 4:30am. Woke at 7, went again but less urgency. Sipping water now. My appt is at 11am. Have bad headache and feel anxious but I attribute this to being a bit dehydrated. Overall even though the medicine is gross once you get it down it works. I’m sure all will go well with my procedure today as I am really cleaned out."

For Bowel Preparation "First, I will confirm that I followed all my doctor's instructions precisely. After the first dose pf clenpiq at 5 pm I had a terrible headache. 40 minutes after taking the second dose at 10 pm the nausea and vomiting started. From 10:40 pm to 3:36 pm I was sitting on the toilet throwing up in the trash can. I was mostly but not completely cleaned out. The doctor wrote on the report that the colonoscopy was difficult because there was "retained stool." That was no surprise since I'm sure I puked up most of the 2nd dose."

For Bowel Preparation "First AND LAST time to use this the Clenpiq prep. On top of the horrible taste, it didn't work. I've had 3 colonoscopies in the past and NEVER had a problem with prepping until this one. I told my doctor I want something different next time. The use of Clinpiq was easy enough, with the exception of being able to open the bottle. I'm arthritic and so is my husband. Bottle was difficult to open for both of us. The taste was gross. I chased it with water each swallow to get it down. Was able to have my test, but my doctor said my prep was "sub-optimal". I followed the instructions to the letter. Very disappointed in this prep. For Bowel Preparation "Clenpiq was decent as a bowel prep. The solution I got was flavored with cranberry flavor. It was sweet and salty, but I got it down easily. Compared to GoLytely, there were slightly fewer movements (although still a LOT), but towards the end, it started feeling hot and acidic. I didn't have that with GoLytely. Make sure to have baby wipes handy. However, it seemed to clean me out very well, probably better than GoLytely. I didn't have any noticeable adverse side-effects. Although, the prep continued to work AFTER the procedure."

For Bowel Preparation "I have a hereditary genetic condition that requires me to undergo a colonoscopy every year. I had not used Clenpiq before After having only clear liquids all day and following the instructions exactly, I found that the product did not work! It took 8 hours for anything to happen. I drank more fluids than the 40 ounces stated. Due to the very long time for results from the first bottle, I drank the second one an hour earlier than I had to. Again, nothing happened for 5 hours ! And it was never clean enough. I called my doctor's office the morning of my test to find out what to do, and my procedure had to be canceled"

For Bowel Preparation "One hour after drinking first bottle of Clenpiq went to bathroom and vomited for over an hour constantly. Bowels didn’t move for another hour or so. I was freezing and wrapped a blanket around me. Next the horrible sweats started. My hair was soaked. I was so miserable I couldn’t get comfortable. I started shaking and I had tingling in my feet and hands. I could barely speak because my teeth were chattering. I asked my husband to stay close because I was really scared and at one point thought I might be having a stroke because my left leg felt numb. He handed me the phone and I called the doctor on call. He said I would be fine and side effects like this are rare and he would cancel my colonoscopy. After starting to evacuate my bowels the horrible side effects started to ease. Did some more vomiting and finally was able to lay down for a bit. It’s 12:40 in the morning and I’m still pooing, feel weak, have a headache and can’t wait to never use Clenpiq again."

For Bowel Preparation "I drank the first bottle at 3:00PM. I don't eat sugar so I had a difficult time getting it down. I drank 40oz. of water and 8:00PM had the second bottle. Yuk. Bloated and sick feeling but no BM. I know I will have to cancel the morning procedure. Pretty sure I will not be having a colonoscopy this year. This was my first time of drinking this awful stuff. Paid 85.00 after insurance - Not worth it."

For Bowel Preparation "I was prescribed Clenpiq for my first ever colonoscopy prep. I drank the first dose around 5 pm and it started to kick in within an hour. It was super sweet and did not taste great. I felt nauseous for about 30 minutes after drinking each dose but that went away. There was no warning when it kicked in. I think another reviewer used the phrase "turned on the water works", which is an accurate description of my experience. I spent at least an hour straight in the bathroom. It took about 3 to 4 hours for things to ease enough where I felt I could try to sleep. I took the 2nd dose around 3:15 am. It took less time to kick in and I did have a slight urge this time. I went intermittently until it was time to leave my house at 7:45 am but made it without any accidents on the drive there. I did have to go once after arriving but it wasn't much. Overall, I felt Clenpiq did what it was supposed to with minimal side effects for me. I had a successful prep and colonoscopy."

For Bowel Preparation "I have had colonoscopies for 36 years now, spanning from every year to every 3-5 years. I was very upset to be told that I HAD to buy this product for my most recent prep. The total was $134.95, but there was an online coupon that I found where I got it for $40.00. I was used to a different prep that was under $8.00. Let me begin by saying that I'm a huge baby when it comes to this stuff. I HATE drinking water/fluids. This prep was pretty good, the taste wasn't the greatest, but I sucked it through a straw and had my toothbrush waiting with lots of toothpaste to clean out my mouth! No cramping or nausea, the only bad thing about this prep is doing it twice and it burns your butt real good! I used baby wipes and vaseline between each episode to help ease the pain! lol"

For Bowel Preparation "I have had several colonoscopies and this one was the first one that had to be cancelled because the prep did not work and made me sick. I was trying to keep it down all day and the second dose did me in. I threw up the second dose after an hour and fifteen minutes. My bowels did not move at all until 16 hours after the first dose. I have been sick for three days afterwards and trying to find answers. I feel better when I don't eat, but now eating is making me sick."

For Bowel Preparation "I followed my doctor's instructions for colonoscopy prep exactly and this stuff still did not clean me out all the way, per my doctor! If you are going through all the effort of staying on a clear liquid diet for 36 hrs and making yourself have cramps and diarrhea you would expect the stuff to actually do the job it's supposed to do! It tastes vile and had a really delayed effect, ie it was still "cleaning me out" after my colonoscopy. Also made me feel nauseated, dizzy and have headaches on and off. Would not recommend."

For Bowel Preparation "Ok so this was my fourth colonoscopy and while different for each of us, I have to say I will be mildly inconvenienced by this in order to avoid getting colon cancer. That is what gets you through it! I have had different preps and I liked this the best and by best, everything is relative as they are all disgusting! But the volume of this is much lower. It doesn't taste like cranberry but instead like a sweet solution of something nasty. I gave it 9/10 only cause I got very nauseous once and threw up but I was very cleaned out for my procedure. And it also dehydrated me terribly maybe because I didn't finish all of the required water but I was drinking like a fish for a week after."

For Bowel Preparation "This bowel cleanser Clenpiq had serious side effects. I took it as prescribed, was in the bathroom all night because it didn’t start working till midnight. Woke up at 5:30 to take 2nd dose, had to finish before 7, day of colonoscopy. Went back to sleep after. Then got up to go, experienced tingling, dizziness and faintness. Tried to make it back to bed felt faint from dehydration. Fell and hit my head and passed out. If my husband wasn't there, I don’t know what would have happened. New on the market 2018 at the advice of my Dr. Will never use again, beware!"

For Bowel Preparation "This Clenpiq prep is amazing. This was my 5th attempt at a colonoscopy. This is the only prep I’ve been able to keep down. The taste is horrible but that’s to be expected. I just held my nose, drank a sip of the prep and then a sip of water. The best tip I can give you is to drink room temperature water or clear liquids. You will have little to no cramping at all with room temperature liquids."

For Bowel Preparation "I’m a 46 yo female, 120 lbs, and overall in very good physical health. I was prescribed Clenpiq, day-before regimen. Prep morning, I drank water hourly starting at 9AM. 1st bottle of Clenpiq at 3PM. Tasted weird sweet drink, but palatable (not cranberry). Kept drinking liquids hourly: plain and coconut water, beef broth (“dinner”), Gatorade. Took 90 min for movement, gentle liquid diarrhea (like turning on faucet), not explosive/painful as a stomach bug. 2 Dulcolax Tabs at 6:30PM. 10PM, drank 2nd Clenpiq. Was difficult and had to drink in tiny sips, with sips of water in between to minimize foulness and warm uncomfortable sensation in my chest. Drank slowly so I wouldn’t become nauseous. 3 more glasses of water/coconut water until 12:45AM. I was cleaned out and had headache. Slept 1AM - 6AM. Doctor said prep was very good and procedure was successful. My advice: Follow directions closely, go on reduced volume clean diet before prep, and HYDRATE a lot!"

For Bowel Preparation "My first prep 1.5 years ago I used Miralax (sp), and I was surprised by the number of trips to the toilet, and small volume on each trip. This time I used Clenpiq, went down fine. Took the first one at 5 pm, and the second at 9 pm. Much fewer trips to the toilet, but bigger volume per. Was totally cleaned out by 10 pm. I ate a breakfast sandwich in the AM, liquid otherwise. I was not starving at all throughout the course of the evening, so maybe had a slight stomach discomfort that held back my appetite, but better than feeling starved. If you eat somewhat healthy, have a light breakfast the day before, and do both doses afternoon/evening and you can avoid the 4 am 2nd dose nonsense. Will absolutely use this next time around."
