For Bowel Preparation "This stuff is awesome compared to the nightmare preps I've had in the past! Easy to drink, no nausea or vomiting, no cramping. I was so surprised considering I have only had violent reactions to laxatives in the past. The taste is salty and sweet and kind of lingers in your mouth, but it was a small amount to drink. I just chugged it down without an issue and followed with a full glass of water. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy."

For Bowel Preparation "I have used every bowel prep on the market, and I could tolerate none of them. Clenpiq was actually the first prep where I could complete both doses with no vomiting or gagging. I was shocked at how much better this prep was compared to the standards. Easier to get down, worked immediately. Second dose a little harder, but I was exhausted by that time. Have your doctor give you an anti-nausea drug and take it 1/2 hour before each dose. Take your time, slug a dose, and chase it with a beverage of choice. The volume is so much smaller and quicker to get down. It is not that bad. Flavor not awful, I was pleasantly surprised. I would highly recommend."

For Bowel Preparation "I am a 46-year-old female. I just had my 5th colonoscopy. My doctor said I was cleaned out well. I like that Clenpiq was low volume. I hate the high-volume preps! But the taste was awful. I had to dilute it with Perrier and Gatorade, which helped. I made homemade chicken broth and peach-flavored Jello to get me through the day. I started it earlier (at 3:30 PM) rather than the proposed 5:30 PM time, and I'm glad I did to get the process started sooner. First bowel movement came 90 minutes later. I know colonoscopies are not easy, but they are a necessary evil, make the best of it."

For Bowel Preparation "Let me start off by saying what a baby I am! My GI prescribed Suprep. I read the reviews and was scared. I called GI wondering what I do if I start vomiting trying to drink the prep. Thankfully, there was a really sweet nurse who had pity on me. She said she had a better choice called Clenpiq - prep only 5 oz, no mixing required. I could do 5 oz! Started early so I could sleep. Took Zofran at 5 PM, drank the first bottle at 6ish. Used a straw, held my nose, sucked it down in 2 swigs. Sucked on a lemon, drank white grape juice, and rinsed with warm water in between. Can't tell you what it tastes like because I never tasted it, thank GOD! It started working in 30 min. It was like someone just turned on a faucet. No cramps, no chills, nothing! (I was on a low residue/fiber diet 5 days pre, full liquid 2 days pre.) I just sat there, me and Netflix, done by 9 PM. Slept, woke up, took another Zofran, and drank the other bottle at 1 AM, done by 4 AM. Test was easy, Doc said I was super cleaned out. This Clenpiq is the only choice!!"

For Bowel Preparation "This was my first colonoscopy, 45 yo male, and I have been dreading it for years. I have always heard horror stories of the preps where you have to drink horrible-tasting prep drinks. This prep was so easy. Took first dose at 4 PM, and it started to work in just under an hour. No cramping or pain, just like turning a faucet on. Had about 5 bathroom trips over a 4-hour period. Then was able to go to sleep from 10 PM to 2 AM when I had to wake up for the 2nd dose. This one worked faster, maybe within 30 mins and had about 5 more bathroom trips. Had an appointment at 7:30 AM, so I just stayed up. The hardest part is the hunger and the lack of sleep. The procedure was easy-peasy. Definitely recommend this product. A lot of worry for nothing."

For Bowel Preparation "Not as bad as expected. Followed all directions from Dr., ate low fiber for 3 days, then liquid diet day of prep. First dose 7 PM, next dose at 7 AM in the morning for 3 PM colonoscopy. Taste not great, but okay. Got it down in 3 swallows. Sweet, sourish. Taste can linger. I got rid of it by scraping my tongue (you can use a tablespoon, in a pinch) and then swished with water. Drank all of the water required fast, and then continued to drink water, Gatorade, etc. Took 2 hours to start, hit peak hour later. Very watery, etc. No pain or cramps. No problem making it to the toilet in time. Done for the night at 11:00 PM, able to sleep all night. Next dose, did the same and drank more liquids than asked. Worked faster. Same result. Done by 1:00 PM. This was just fine. I think what made a difference was low fiber for 3 days, and drank more liquids than what was required. Worst of prep for me was no eating for such a long time. Jello and Italian ice helped."

For Bowel Preparation "This was the most barbaric and traumatizing cleanse I’ve ever done. I would not recommend it to anyone, ever, for any reason! Severe cramping, vomiting simultaneously while cleansing the colon, shaking, trouble breathing, numbness in legs and arms. Absolutely terrifying. I thought it was going to be the end of me, alone on my bathroom floor! This is not a one size fits all. I’m 5’3”, 117 lbs. I was given the same quantity/prescription that a 400 lb person would receive. This stuff is toxic! Never again."

For Bowel Preparation "So I’ll start by saying I first picked up some gigantic bottle, like over a gallon, lemon-lime flavored. I stopped in my tracks at the pharmacy counter. I’m at most 110 lbs and hate lemon and lime, so that was not going to work. I called my doctor and he scripted me Clenpiq. They normally don’t because the big one is usually free (and it would have been) and the Clenpiq was around $150. I didn’t care, I wanted a successful procedure. I paid $138 at Walmart. Started at 5 PM. Hit within 30 minutes. Didn’t bother me at all. Since I have GI issues, that experience was nothing new. The first bottle really cleaned me out. The 2 AM one was far less productive, but it had to be done. The flavor was okay, it was tolerable and went down quick. No pains or cramping. Even the urgency was less than what I normally deal with! Went in for the procedure. All good. This product is the way to go! I did have a headache, but that was likely due to no caffeine, food, or sleep!"

For Bowel Preparation "CLENPIQ is by far the worst medication I have ever taken! The taste is pungent, acidic, and still penetrable while holding my nose! I could not swallow once without gagging! Then there is an aftertaste that lingers for many hours. It feels like it has infiltrated your gums, tongue, and mucous membranes. The only decent thing I have to say is that it was effective. With all the strides in medicine that have been made, and colonoscopy being a routine procedure, there must be something better than this product. I don't think any person should be subjected to this, ever! I had a colonoscopy 10-15 years ago and the prep was no big deal. If it were like this experience, I may not have had a second colonoscopy. I have been through surgeries, births, other medical procedures, and many, many medications. Some have been painful or uncomfortable, but I would choose any of them over this! If this is prescribed for you, please ask for something more pleasant!"

For Bowel Preparation "Best prep ever! After hearing all the horror stories about a colonoscopy, there was nothing to it-prep or the actual procedure. Clenpiq was great-will be honest, the first bottle was easier than the second, very important to stay hydrated, so I drank Propel Water pretty much constantly before, during, and after the prep. Again, no worries! I would take Clenpiq over any of those gallon drinks any day!"

For Bowel Preparation "I'm 24 and had my first colonoscopy this morning. Despite major anxiety, I was pleasantly surprised. The fluid was easy to drink and tasted quite sweet, like candy. I hate cranberry and though it was cranberry flavored, it didn't taste repulsive at all, and I actually liked it. I had NO unpleasant side effects like nausea, headache, or cramps, as I feared I might, and though I spent more time in the bathroom than I would have preferred, it wasn't nightmarish. I did the same-day instead of the split dose and was able to get a few hours of quality sleep in with vivid dreams before my morning exam. Like everyone says about turning on a faucet, it gets the job done, and it's nice not to have to drink heavily. The two bottles are such a nice advancement to what my family members went through in the past, and I'm so glad this product is available and I like that it doesn't have to be mixed. Clenpiq is very convenient and worth the extra money in comparison to other bowel prep solutions!"

For Bowel Preparation "Horrifyingly bad! I never had such terrible cramping, even while giving birth to two children naturally. On top of that, I had explosive diarrhea and vomiting all at the same time. I truly felt like I was going to die from the trauma that was unleashed on my body. The doctor said to go to the ER, but how do you get to the ER when you are expelling from both sides of your body and doubled over from cramps? This all occurred after ingesting the first bottle. Needless to say, I never took the second. I won't be using it again. Ever. I would give this a 0 rating if they allowed."

For Bowel Preparation "Took the first bottle at 5 PM, followed by 40 oz of fluids. Started working around 7 PM but found it worked slowly compared to Suprep and others. I kept going on and off until 11 PM. Went to sleep, then took the second dose at 3 AM with 24 oz of fluids. Nothing happened until 6 AM. I was worried I wouldn't be cleaned out, but it did the job. I did get chills from it starting around 9 PM. Doctor said this was normal. Something about electrolytes being out of whack. Cranberry flavor? Didn't taste that at all, but I do like the smaller bottles. I figure I'd rather go through one day/night of prep than have colon cancer that got out of control because it was never discovered."

For Bowel Preparation "HARSH!!! I would NOT recommend using Clenpiq if you are a small person with a prior bowel surgery. I eat healthy and keep active, but had a fluke bowel obstruction and emergency resection six months ago. My GI doc wants a colonoscopy to make sure things healed well and gave me Clenpiq to prep. I ate a light diet for 2 days before, then did clear liquids for 1 day. I took the first Clenpiq dose the night before the colonoscopy; it tasted like oily, weak Kool-Aid and made me nauseated. Within 30 minutes, I had explosive diarrhea - lasted for about 4 hours, plus cramping and back pain. It slowed down, and I tried to sleep, but woke up two hours later with more explosive diarrhea that lasted an hour. I couldn’t sleep at that point, so I took the second dose; 15 minutes later, explosive diarrhea, mainly water, for the next 90 minutes. Now I have a migraine. I will be cleaned out for the colonoscopy, but this is too harsh for someone who weighs 120 and has a sensitive bowel. NEVER AGAIN."

For Bowel Preparation "Although the ease of use is there by having to drink less of it compared to other preps, it was nauseating, thick, and awful. I had very bad lower belly pain, which I associated with the prep, and so did the healthcare professionals at the colonoscopy facility. Up to 48 hours later, I had barely any urine output and still horrendous lower belly pain, bloating, tenderness, and difficulty walking, sleeping, or sitting without pain. Perhaps 60 hours out now and beginning to have more urine output, but still not fully. The pain has lessened, but still, the lower belly is extremely tender to touch. The urine has a foul odor. I would not recommend this prep at all, and I think healthcare professionals have to be made aware of these side effects, especially if they are common, so they do not prescribe this horrible and debilitating prep."

For Bowel Preparation "I used Clenpiq last night to prep for colonoscopy today. It does taste bad. I put it in the refrigerator to get cold and used a straw to keep it off my tongue. No problems getting it down. I did split the dosage and drank half a bottle at a time, waiting a couple of hours between drinking the liquid. But drank all Clenpiq before midnight. I also drank three large bottles of water, 33.8 oz. I was not miserable, as I had been with other preps in the past. I would definitely use this again. I also went on a low fiber, low volume diet for three days prior to the prep. I think that also made a big difference."

For Bowel Preparation "Used Clenpiq for routine screening colonoscopy. Not covered by insurance, so cost was $150. But that's the best $150 I've spent. Very easy to take... only 5.5 oz per dose (split dose). It doesn't taste good, since it's concentrated, but I think anyone can get down 5.5 oz. Just a bit more than a measuring cup. Had no side effects whatsoever, no cramping/pain, you just go - nice and easy. I think the worst part for me was not being able to eat. TIP: ask your doctor about eating a light breakfast the day of the prep. That's what I did, 3 scrambled eggs and a piece of toast. Makes the fasting MUCH easier vs. stopping solids the night before. I also drank LOTS of fluids on prep day, which made the amount required during the prep less. You are supposed to drink several glasses of fluids after each dose of Clenpiq, but I didn't drink that much and was perfectly fine."

For Bowel Preparation "Took Clenpiq as ordered for next day colonoscopy. Horrible experience. Major weakness. Slept on floor. Messed my clothing. Five months out from colonoscopy, I have explosive BMs, gas, foul odor BM, right lower abdominal quadrant ache. Haven't had a normal BM since the two days before the procedure. Told by doctor to start Lomotil and return for a sigmoidoscopy. Taking max strength probiotic for 6 weeks. Switched to lactose-free milk. In a terrible mess. Just had a triple bypass 9 months ago. I was a healthy, active woman and still try to be. Something happened to me. I can still taste the Clenpiq at times."

For Bowel Preparation "I took same-day prep for a 5 am colonoscopy the next day. Started bottle one at 4 pm. I had bowel movements an hour later, and that lasted off and on for another hour. No cramps or nausea. Took bottle two at 10 pm and went after an hour. I was asleep by 12:30 and up the next day for the procedure. First colonoscopy, but if it’s this easy, I won’t be apprehensive next time."

For Bowel Preparation "Took first dose at 6 PM. Started bowel movements about an hour later. Done by 10:30. Woke up at 4 AM for second dose. Half an hour later, felt nauseous. Another half an hour and vomited everywhere. Vomited three times in an hour. Must have vomited it all out because it did not do its intended purpose. Felt like I was so ill for five hours. Had to cancel the procedure because I wasn’t cleared out and nauseous."

For Bowel Preparation "This is a very slow-acting and ineffective prep. Took it following the two-bottle instructions, one at 7 PM, one at 3 AM. Procedure was at 9 AM. Still voiding and not prepped. Doc did the procedure but said we'll have to do it again next year instead of five years because this prep didn't work. It gets worse. Get home at noon or so, still passing gas from the colonoscopy. Runny pooping my pants. Take pants off, head to bathroom. Explosion along the way. More came out than had been voided during the night. Terrible product. Doc wasn't happy, I wasn't happy, and momma wasn't happy when I dumped runny poo all over the stairs."

For Bowel Preparation "Had my third colonoscopy today. The first two cleanings were done with the old gallon jug mix. My doctor ordered Clenpiq for this one. Horrible experience. The prep never seemed to be working. Clear then dirty, clear then dirty. Was up all night, even though I started prep at 11 a.m. and had a second dose at 3 p.m. Using the old prep, I simply started drinking it - started pooping and was running clear by bedtime. Was not sure doc could perform the procedure, but the colon was clear enough that it was completed. Use the old stuff, it works. Even all the nurses in the outpatient unit started talking about how Clenpiq does not work well after I questioned whether or not they thought the procedure could be done. Will never understand why my doctor prescribed this."

For Bowel Preparation "Highly recommend! This was my second colonoscopy with a different gastroenterologist. The first time I did the Miralax prep and had a horrible time with the prep. I always said I would never have another one due to prep. I was extremely anxious about the prep. The doctor prescribed this prep and had a free sample at the office. Insurance did not cover, and it would cost $170 if not for the sample. It was easy to get the first bottle down. I used a straw. The taste was not bad. I drank fluids all day and drank more than recommended during prep. Tolerable cramping noted. The second prep had to be done at 3 AM. I was still going to the bathroom in the office at 9 AM, so I recommended starting early. Prep was described as good by the doctor. I would highly recommend taking this prep!!!!"
