"I was taking this drug for depression. While on this drug a few weeks I suffered a T I A... A small stroke. I was also on medication for high blood pressure, thyroid , cholesterol and depression and a pain medication After my T I A , I am on aspirin, plus a blood thinner, nerve pain, and a higher dose of my blood pressure pill. Has any one else had a stroke on this medication"

"It has been a great help to me, since we added it to my Serataline/Zoloft. Just to let you know, My Husband told me that “when I started taking Rexulti, He got his wife back.” What a testimony‼️"

"I have psychotic depression, anxiety, and insomnia. I felt like I couldn’t survive 1 more day in the state I was in, I was getting 4 hours of sleep and I was frozen from the anxiety and couldn’t move or speak, and I was out of touch with reality. The Rexulti completely cured my anxiety, insomnia and psychosis, I am now feel like I can survive the next day even though its tough because I still have deppression, but my situation isn’t as desperate. I’m able to walk around and talk and do decent in school. Since it cured 2/3 of my problems and none of the other medications I’ve tried did anything I’m going to give rexulti a 10/10, Very good experience. (Btw No side effects)"

"Had major anxiety for about 4 months which lead to a bad depression. Doc prescribed me rexulti because he said it will be a quick fix, and it worked for me within 4 days I felt like my old self. My constant thoughts cleared up, I could enjoy life again. Problem is I was gaining weight like CRAZY. Doc also told me possible side effects down the road (muscle twitching). He now has me taking Vybriid and it was doing good for a while, but now that I am off the Rexulti I feel depressed again."

"I was put on Rexulti as an add-on to my Depakote for Bipolar type 1 disorder. I had to come off lithium abruptly because it was affecting my sleep and causing me to have suicidal thoughts. My psychiatrist put me back on Depakote (what I had been taking prior to lithium) and then added Rexulti. It has so far been a life changer. I finally feel truly myself in a way I have not felt in years. I must of had high functioning depression for years thinking it was my "new normal" but on Rexulti I do not feel so chronically fatigued and I am actually excited about life. I can also think more coherently and clearly and it shows in my academic performance and creativity levels. Give this medication a try if it seems nothing else is working for you because this might!!!"

"Rexulti sorted out absolutely everything as far as bipolar depression and mixed episodes go, save negative symptoms (lethargy, anhedonia) which I also take Vraylar for. Additionally, I take Depakote to avoid mania. I no longer have episodes and my day-to-day mood is calm, hopeful, and energetic. No side effects that I've noticed. I thought it might have dampened my creativity somewhat, but then I stopped using mania as a crutch and just started working harder. My debut novel has won a pretty prominent award, so I must be doing something right. I attribute most of the heavy lifting in my cocktail to Rexulti because I had to go off it a couple times briefly (screw-up at the pharmacy, etc.) and my mood plummeted very quickly. The difference is like night and day!"

"It works fast and it works well. It doesn't give me the sluggish feeling or brain fog, like the others do. The only downfall is that it aggravates my tardive dyskenia, makes it hard to sit still, hold things. But I'll take that over the alternative"

"Took Latuda did nothing for me so Psych started me on Rexulti in mid-September. Took me off for a week in November because side effects were severe, shaking leg, irritable, restlessness. Been back on it almost 6 weeks going from 0.5mg to 2mg now feel a little ok but still have lack of interest in things I enjoyed, I still have sadness, I'm functional but not really present. Read that some of these meds can take up to 6- 8 weeks before I feel full affect. I'm on Pristiq 100 mg and 2 Clonzapem a day. Hopefully will feel full effects shortly. "

"I have been given Abilify and Rexulti but after many years I did my own research on target drugs. I was ready to take my life and it has been seven days since taking 1mg and I have had three good days in a row. It has been a long time. Added to 80mg Prozac, clonazepam and Lyrica. This is a, potential game changer for my brain chemistry."

"I took Rexulti for almost 2 years for depression. I had tried many different medications, and it was the one medication that I responded to at the time. I started out on 0.5mg and slowly increased my dosage to 2mg. It worked for a while, but then stopped working. It also made me feel flat and sedated. My doctor added a stimulant (Adderall) to counteract the sedation which only helped a little. We tried adding on other antidepressants, with not much response. Any time I started a new antidepressant, I would feel more sedated (now I realize it was a drug interaction with the Rexulti). Finally, I decided to wean myself off of Rexuli and the fog has finally lifted. I realize a lot of my fatigue that I was attributing to my depression was actually the Rexulti. I feel like I lost 2 years of my life! And I feel like I made a lot of poor decisions on this medication. Be careful if you are taking this medication."

"Bipolar Disorder (type 2 with rapid cycling and mixed episodes too)...this has changed my life! And I’m the type that had many bad experiences and then just tried natural healing for a couple years. I gave up on meds completely. But then I found out it’s the mood stabilizers that were making me sick. Rexulti works wonders for my hypomania! Don’t give up to all those reading this. ❤️ I am also on escitalopram for depression and anxiety."

"Reading the reviews on this site was part of my decision-making process in starting Rexulti for a stubborn depressive episode (I have bipolar), so I wanted to come back and leave a review myself. It's been 30 days of .5. My depressive symptoms went away after five days on Rexulti. I was afraid of akathisia because I had it really bad on Latuda, but that dreaded side effect has been minimal to none, thankfully! The first two weeks on Rexulti at .5, I did experience agitation for a few hours after taking my pill each day. However, that has mostly subsided. I am very pleased with this dose. I'm not going to increase it because I think (know) I would get akathisia and mania. Now I'm on gabapentin, Rexulti, clonazepam as needed, and ketamine infusions every few months. Keep the faith, folks. We can do this!"

"My problems are Bi-Polar disorder, anxiety, depression. I was switched from Latuda 80mg to Rexulti (which my doctor pushed on me and had samples). I also take Adderall, Prozac. I started having tremors, and the biggest panic attack in my life that I ended up in the hospital. I didn’t know what was wrong with me so I switched to an NP there. We both thought it was the Adderall making me tremor, this morning NO TREMORS. I went back to Ability 10mg at night with my other usual meds! This med is NOT for people with non-polar disorder, it will make you worse. I’m sure it will help with depression but they have no proven facts stating that Rexulti is for non-polar. Studies actually made it clear it made bi-polar worse."

"H have Aspergers, OCD, ADHD, anxiety, depression and I've been on rexulti, pristiq and seroquel for a few years now, I've tried several medications that didn't work for me these do, although when first starting on these medications I was 70 kilos, I'm now 100 kilos, but I would put that down to the medications maybe lowering my metabolism and increasing my appetite, because I wasn't eating before! So if I had none of these conditions I'd probably be where I'm at now anyway. When I forget to take my meds one day I feel weird in the head, its like a physical thing like a tingling, but bad and I lose focus and I get crabby and people around me ask if I've had my meds. I'm more likely to want to binge drink when I haven't had them too, but the next day when I remember to actually take them I have energy yet I'm calm, I feel peaceful but not like a zombie or wanting to sleep all the time. Also my doses are 100mg pristiq, 2mg rexulti in the morning along with thyroid pills and vitamins, I take 25mg of seroquel at night to calm down and sleep."

"After just 10 days I am beginning to feel more like my old self. I’m laughing more and have a more positive attitude. I have moments of joy. Only downfall is that I am really hungry, especially at night. I have RA so it’s sometimes hard with the joint pain to exercise but I have been making sure that I get some cardio everyday even if it’s only 10 mins. I hope this Med continued to work as I love having feelings again."

"I am on week 4 of Rexulti . I have to say it has gotten me up and on my feet. Unfortunately it has made my anxiety so bad I feel like I am standing on the edge of a cliff trying to decide which way to turn to stop the discomfort. I have chest pain and just a general unease. No way to relax so I will be stopping this medication as off today."

"When my psychiatrist finally put me on 1 mg. of Rexulti, it was a life saver. My latest depressive episode seemed intractable until then, but a major drawback has been sleep interruption, often as early as 3 am. My mind races and it's often more fun to get up than to stay in bed. I rarely sleep beyond 6 am, no matter how late I go to sleep. My much valued afternoon naps have also become infrequent too. I also take Pamelor 75 mg. per day and Seroquel 75 mg. per day. Doctor said that I'd have to come off the Seroquel since it's the same drug family as the Rexulti. Well, I've decided to get off the Rexulti and keep my Seroquel since the Seroquel helps me sleep and wears off by morning. Rexulti is absurdly expensive."

"Ever since getting Covid, I have been having really bad existential and death OCD along with physical symptoms like a constant tension in my body. After trying a number of different meds, my psych prescribed this to help supplement my lexapro. It seems to be helping make my thoughts a little quieter and boosting my mood a bit. I'm still only on .25, and I may be switching to another SSRI soon, but right now, Rexulti seems to be helping somewhat. More than other drugs have."

"I am over 50 years old and have tried just about every antidepressant, antipsychotic, and mood stabilizer out there over the past 30 years. Rexulti salty is a lifesaver I have been on it for six months and I’ve never felt better. I can think I can function. There is a downside, weight gain. It came on pretty quickly and I gained over 10 pounds however the way it makes me feel is worth the weight. I’m on it without a typical antidepressant it seems to boost my Strattera which is not a prescribed as a standard antidepressant but is a SNRI. I’m also on Lamotrigine"

"Love this medication!!! After trying everything for my depression/anxiety/BPD I was starting to feel hopeless. Celexa was kind of working but not as well as I had hoped. Tried every other mood stabilizer and antipsychotic out there. Finally dr had me try Rexulti. I feel amazing. No longer feel hopeless, more motivated and less moody. This message doesn’t make you tired or upset your stomach like others do either! It’s great!"

"Have been on Rexulti for 5 yrs. In the beginning it was good It made me feel more energetic it wore off. Now I am bored with everything I can’t work out like I did - for 45 yrs I worked out. It is either giving me muscle weakness or just too bored to do it and you can’t get drunk if you wanted to. I thought it helped my ADD with thinking more clearly it still helps with that. I hope it helps other people."

"I've had good experience with Rexulti. I am struggling with depression at the moment (although diagnosed as Bipolar). At first it gave me headaches and upset stomach. That lasted for a few days. After that, I started feeling so much better. The depression has lifted in about a week and a half to two weeks. No anxiety from this drug. No awful side effects. So far haven't gained any weight on it (fingers crossed)."

"Rexulti 3mg worked very well for 1 year, but stopped working. I also gained 40 pounds with no change in in diet or activity level. I’m still stuck with the weight even since I stopped it. So eh. Take every review and side effect with a grain of salt. If you notice excessive weight gain In the beginning (my first 20 pounds was within 2 months or so) say something to your doctor. Don’t let them blow you off."

"Initially it was a great drug. It acted, mostly, as an anxiolytic. At initial dose of 0.5 mg, it made me calm, made my depression to fade away. It even increased my energy, improved sleep, and libido. The problem, however, was the timing of the medication. I could not take it at evening, because it was making my sleep worse. At morning, it made me sedated - but not too much; it was tolerable. After 2 months, my doctor bumped a dose to 1 mg - and that's where the hell went loose. I slowly started developing side effects on it. The feeling of energy went away. Sedation increased to the point where I am unable to work. At the same time, it made my sleep much worse. Again, these side effects developed slowly - until, at some point, I realized that I feel really, really bad on rexulti. Now I am trying to get off it, before I got fired from my job."

"Bad. Feel restless and have anxiety attacks, also gaining weight. Have no energy and have to drink 3-4 cups of coffee every day just to stay awake and not crash my car driving to work. For me, not a good med. Tried Abilify, Seroquel, and Depakote in the past for anger and irritability and those are as bad if not worse than the Rexulti. Been on 20mg Lexapro for anxiety, depression, and Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) for about 10 years, but it's not working very well any more. Doctor suggested Latuda, going to try that next."
