I woke this morning with severe pain in my lower calf. By mid morning the pain had moved to my middle calf. It almost felt like a charley horse. By early evening it had moved up to the back of my thigh. Tonight it is now in the middle of my hip and has awakened me because the pain is severe. I have been suffering with a vertical tear to the peroneal brevis tendon and some damage to the achilles tendon which physical therapy has not alleviated and that I might need surgery for. Could these ankle problems be causing this sudden pain up my leg into my hip or could this be a clot that I should head to the ER to check out?
Pain moving up my leg has me confused?

You can call the hospital and talk to a nurse about whether or not it's an emergency. I went to the ER on a Friday morning because I fell and broke my wrist. By the time I got seen, they took an X-ray, splinted my wrist and told me to go see an orthopedic DR to see if it needed surgery and/or just a cast, which by then the Ortho was closed and I had to wait till Monday. I should have called first.
I suggest someone takes you to the ER instead of trying to figure out what it may or may not be, do not waste your time, better safe than sorry.
