For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I’ve had RA for over 20 years. Nothing has really helped. So the Rheumy said Rinvoq was the next step. The last 9 days have been a pure living nightmare. Headache 18 hours a day. Nausea and vomiting even when I sleep. Yes, I have awakened in vomit twice. I’m a 61-year-old woman. I’ve never done that in my adult life. It feels like someone is trying to dig out of my stomach with a knife. The rheumy told me this morning to stop for a week and call and tell him how I feel. The headache, nausea, vomiting, and stomach pain have almost completely resolved. Hmmmmmm...and sigh...now what."

For Atopic Dermatitis "Surprised no one with severe atopic dermatitis commented on here yet. Have had severe eczema all my life and have tried many conventional (methotrexate, Myfortic, dupilumab) and unconventional treatments (diets, homeopathy) with little success. Only cyclosporine worked well for years but suddenly stopped working (and got me dangerously high creatinine levels for kidney failure, so had to stop). Now on Rinvoq for 6 months, initially once daily (30 mg), didn't work sufficiently, but after taking it twice daily, I'm now completely clear for 3 months. I'm very happy and relieved. Do need to say the side effects can be pretty intense (as other commenters have confirmed). I've had 2 herpes infections already, regularly nauseous, coughing, and colds are staying on for much longer, sometimes moody, but at this point, my eczema relief definitely outweighs the side effects. Researchers say it's the golden era for eczema research, so I'm bright and hopeful for the future."

For Atopic Dermatitis "I have suffered from eczema for about 35 years. It has affected every aspect of my life and affected my self-esteem. Sleepless nights from scratching, and I am sure the damage caused by prematurely aged skin. I have taken RINVOQ 15 mg for 2 weeks now, and I feel that I have my life back. No redness, pain, itch, or scratching since the day I started, and people have noticed that my skin is visibly improved. I have found my miracle. I get slight nausea here and there, but that does not compare to the hardship I had before. I sure hope that my kidneys hold out and I don't get any other side effects, and I can continue to tolerate Rinvoq as I would hate to go back to how I used to be."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I have taken methotrexate, prednisone, Humira, and Xeljanz for rheumatoid arthritis. Due to inflammation, I have been put on Rinvoq for 2 weeks now. I’m nauseous, have dry eyes, blurred vision, and fibromyalgia. I also have Type 1 diabetes, pancreatitis on Fiasp/Toujeo, and ulcerative colitis."

For Atopic Dermatitis "I've only been on Rinvoq for a month to treat atopic dermatitis, but am calling my dermatologist tomorrow. The dermatitis has cleared up, but at the expense of severe nausea, headaches, chills, cold sores, and acne. I'm typically very active with running, biking, and hiking, but in the last month of taking this, I feel so bad all I want to do is sleep. In Rinvoq's defense, my body does not react well to most drugs, so maybe it is just me, but I've never had this bad of a reaction to any drug."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "Rinvoq was a lifesaver for me, but not without side effects including sinus infections, yeast infections, nausea, and most bizarre tooth rot below the gumline. I experienced such needed symptom relief with Rinvoq, I believe it sent me into remission."

For Psoriatic Arthritis "Rinvoq 15 mg has been a game-changer. For the first time, my arthritis is under control. It worked from day one. Side effects have included and resolved extreme fatigue (initial), headache, nausea, feeling of cold, and UTI. I suffer from Achilles tendinitis and work as a respiratory therapist, so I’m on my feet constantly! This has kept me working and active every day. I'm able to work 4-5 12-hour shifts in a row. I was not able to do that with previous biologics and DMARDs. I'm not on steroids anymore. Yes, I have gained about 10 pounds. I'm working with my doctors now to get the weight off. Everyone is different, and your journey will be too. Good luck!"

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I only started about a month and a half ago. Initially, I felt very well but now am having some side effects. I'm not sure if they are all related to Rinvoq. Since last week, I've developed nausea and feel a bit off and fatigued. I just feel generally unwell. I had some night sweats for a few days but that is gone now."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I was on methotrexate for many years, but I was getting tired of the nausea and losing my hair. So I was changed to many other medications that did not work. I was afraid I had to go back to methotrexate, but fortunately, Rinvoq started working within the first week. I have been on it for four months. I have had COVID three times within this period, slight headaches, and a cough every night and morning. I mentioned it to my doctor and said it’s not a common side effect, but that we can change medication. I am getting tired of the cough, but I don’t want to suffer with RA pain. Besides that, I am feeling really good, my hair is back, and I don’t get nauseous."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I have been on medication now for over 2 months. It started to work within 3 days. Side effects include nausea and feeling tired all the time. After a month on Rinvoq, I have gotten used to the side effects. I am on week 9 and starting to have other side effects, not sure if it is from the medication. These include sleep problems, my left knee suddenly swelling up and hurting, and my hips starting to hurt again."

For Psoriatic Arthritis "I’m thrilled that finally we have got it right. I’ve tried Methotrexate, which worked well, but my hair fell out, and I felt nauseous for days. Cimzia injection didn’t help. Now on a combination of Arava 10 mg and Rinvoq 15 mg, and am so happy that I am almost pain-free. Over the moon."

"I started taking Rinvoq about 10 months ago to treat alopecia areata. I have had it since I was a kid, but had a really severe flare-up last year and lost about 50% of my hair. I had about 750 steroid injections into my scalp to grow it back, but the hair was falling out faster than the injections could keep up with. I started with 15 mg per day and increased to 30 mg about 4 months later. I saw new hair growth within a month and have now successfully grown all of my hair back. The side effects were pretty intense for the first few weeks. The worst were nausea, dizziness, and fatigue. When I upped my dose to 30 mg, they came back full force but subsided faster. I now have no side effects except I get sick a bit more easily than I used to and stay sick for longer. When I get sick, I tend to need antibiotics now. Overall, a really great medication for alopecia. It costs about $50 a box in Australia or $7 with a low-income healthcare card. Without the PBS, it costs $2050 a box."

For Atopic Dermatitis "Rinvoq has changed my life. I do not exaggerate when I say that. I take 15 mg per day, and within the initial weeks of taking the medication, my AD, which covered 90% of my body, had reduced down to nearer 10%. I have not used a steroid cream in 18 months, and my itch was gone within two days of starting the dose. If you miss a day, you do see it come back, so be mindful to take it on time. But after trying 5 other biologics, this has officially changed my quality of life. Initially, side effects included a fever and some nausea, these went away fast, but be aware it can happen."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I’ve been on Rinvoq for 6 weeks now. It has caused a lot of dizziness and nausea. I’ve tried changing the time that I take it so that the worst of the dizziness was at night, but I wake up feeling very dizzy and nauseous. Has anyone else had this problem?"
