"Follow Up: I am currently on day 11 of Zepbound 2.5 mg. As of this morning, I have lost 11.73 lbs. Daily, I documented how I felt and symptoms. The first 24 hours of injection #1, I had extreme fatigue, normal appetite, and a whole lot of belching. Day 2, belching, less hungry, no other symptoms. Day 3, I had no appetite, no other symptoms. Day 4, less than normal appetite, no other symptoms . Days 3 and 4 have just been repetitive. I have had no negative side effects, BUT I also have made sure to eat high-protein foods for every meal, even on the days I had no appetite, nothing greasy (thinking about it turns my stomach), no high-sugar foods. As of today, I’d say; if you work with the medication, the medication will work with you. Update you in a couple of weeks."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started on Zepbound Sept 3rd, 2024. The sulfur burps started but subsided after a day or so. Each time I give the shot, I get a little of this. I’ve stayed at .05 mL because I have a bit of a sour stomach, so don’t want to have worse, and I like my slow weight loss (14 lbs) as of 11/30/24. I heard if one loses too fast, it results in saggy skin. I had a problem with the protein powder, so discontinued, but realize making sure to get enough protein is crucial. My positive effect I’d like to report is I’m no longer lactose intolerant! So exciting! I can eat whatever I want without fear of the usual aftereffects. I didn’t need to lose much weight, but my added concern is that I have sleep apnea (couldn’t tolerate C-PAP). I’ll report back when I make a recording to see if it’s been eliminated. I only live with dogs, and they refuse to tell me if I’m still snoring or not."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I’ve lost 43 lbs in the last 9 months. I experienced some mild hair loss (but started this in menopause, so that contributed to hair loss as well), increased heart rate, although mine was low to start, some burping, and tiredness. The worst side effect for me is the diarrhea. I have it starting about 24-48 hrs after injection. It lasts on and off for about 3 days. Overall, these side effects have been mild and manageable. The weight loss has been life-changing!!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have just started on the 2.5 mg dose. This is the end of my second week. I’m not experiencing any side effects except belching. I’m really looking forward to my weight loss and feel confident that with some walking daily and use of light weights I will reach my goal. I’m not overdoing the exercise, as when I do, I regrettably always quit. I’m paying for this out of pocket, so this is also a great motivator for me (get my money’s worth!) Using the injection is no problem, and I’m also looking forward to no more snoring (sleep apnea), which is a bonus as I didn’t know about that until I started taking it. This will please my husband! I’m purchasing it through Eli Lilly and my dr. sends them my script, I pay them monthly, and they send it to me via mail. I’m hoping Medicare may cover this in the future, as it’s been in the news it will if you have sleep apnea."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Zepbound was effective within the first week. I experienced a significant decrease in hunger and decreased interest in food. I also found that I could not always finish a meal serving in one sitting. Initially, I had minor issues in bowel habits (constipation and diarrhea). Both symptoms are minor and managed with adequate hydration and fiber-rich foods. More disconcerting have been the “egg burps” caused by bacterial action on sulfur-rich foods in a slowed GI system. I have selected less sulfur-rich foods and make a concerted effort to drink more water during a day or two following the weekly injection. This side effect seems to have moderated, perhaps as I am into the second month of my current dosage and third month on Zepbound and/or temporarily minimizing sulfurous food intake in a short period following injection. I also track my food intake and assure I am eating an adequate level of protein. I have lost 15 pounds in 10 weeks. I am 77 and a woman."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Outstanding! 59 yr old male. Started this journey at 251 lb. Just wrapping up the first month of 2.5 mg and have already dropped 15 lb! Down to 236! Moving to the 5 mg next week and cannot wait to keep moving forward! Other than a few extra burps, no side effects to speak of! The cost is an issue until I hit my deductible (as I have a high deductible plan), but if I am gonna meet the deductible, it may as well be sooner rather than later! This stuff is a game changer! No longer constantly thinking about the next meal!"

For Obstructive Sleep Apnea/Hypopnea Syndrome "Started on Zepbound 2 weeks ago. I have only lost 2 pounds. I don’t feel like eating. At first, I was so tired, and that subsided. My biggest problem is the belching. I can’t seem to get rid of it."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I’ve lost 60 pounds on Zepbound and maintain the same lifestyle as before, with the exception that I don’t think about eating much and sometimes have to be intentional about eating anyway. My side effects are minimal, just sulfur burps on an increased dose, but generally disappear after a while. I take Pepto to help with that. I lost weight steadily in the beginning and slowed down after 6 months. I’m one year into it and still not down to where I want to be, 20 more pounds to go."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started Zepbound for my first time 6 days ago and will be giving my 2nd injection tomorrow. So far, I lost 7 lbs in 6 days. I was fine the first day, the next few days I had nasty burping for a few days. I don't feel as hungry as I used to. I also eat less. I do go to the gym or try to walk at least 30 mins a day as I have young children. So far, I'm loving it. I'm at 2.5 mg and will be calling my provider when I do my 3rd injection to up my dose."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "There are pros and cons to every medication that you take. Zepbound does help with weight loss. Your appetite decreases, but you can and will have GI side effects: constipation, gas, abdominal pain with overeating, belching, and nausea. Cutting back on carbonated beverages, eating small meals, and increasing protein and fiber is key. Adding nausea medication and Gas-X helps."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have had zero issues with the drug when I do right. If I overeat, I have diarrhea and sulfur burps for sure. When I start my day with protein and coffee, and drink lots of water, I have zero issues. But if I mess up like I did this week (ate breakfast, lunch, happy hour, snacked), I was up all night in a world of hurt, and I still haven't fully recovered. I haven't noticed a significant weight loss in 5 weeks (10 pounds), but it’s been steady. Just DO NOT OVEREAT and drink plenty of water."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am 45 years old and female. I have been on Zepbound for eight months. I started at 275 lbs and am now at 235 lbs. The day after I first took it, my stomach was so full it hurt, just from my normal portion sizes. Over time, the dosage has increased to 7.5. I am a little more tired than usual, but that's a small price to pay. The vast majority of side effects occur when I overeat. There's no way to know which of these I will have then: pain in my stomach, egg burps, loud flatulence, and/or diarrhea. I have been sick a lot more than usual, along with swollen lymph nodes and hoarseness, but there's no way to know if they're related or not."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Zepbound for almost 8 months, with a brief pause for hip replacement, which required me to restart on the lowest dose. I am now on 10. Sulfur burps stopped after 5. Costed through 7.5 and now, 10 mg. I barf like clockwork approximately 36 hours after my shot, but then it subsides… until next week. Lost 55 lbs, so it’s worth it."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I’ve been on Zepbound since 8/1/24 (305 lbs, 5’6). So far, I lost 65 lbs, I’m 45 lbs away from my goal. My current dose is 10 mg. I experience side effects within 24 hours of injection administration, ranging from nausea, vomiting, belching, diarrhea, abdominal pain, fatigue, and dizziness. The side effects last about 24-36 hours. The medication definitely decreases my appetite and cravings. My doctor stopped my BP medication as I continue losing weight and my BP readings are good. My husband has noticed that I stopped snoring, lol. My plan is to reach my weight goal and stop the medication. I have changed my relationship with food. I look at food more as fuel for my body instead of indulging and overeating. I also introduced portion control and exercise, mostly walking and swimming. My insurance covers the medication."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "They keep upping the price, and now I can’t afford it. I lost 43 pounds. It lowered my blood pressure. Dehydration, constipation, and sulfur burps, though. I had a heart attack from the dehydration. I’ve got that managed now-drinking electrolytes. I don’t want to give up, though, but I can’t afford $680 a month."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started off with 2.5 mg the first month. Second month is 5 mg. Today I take the 3rd needle from the package. Last night was the first time I was nauseous and vomiting. I don't know if it was from the medication, but that day I had eaten chips and chocolate. I had not since I started. I want to believe eating those led me to being sick. Burping started about 3 weeks ago but only lasts for a day. It has happened 3 times. Been stuck on the same weight for 2 weeks."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been on Zepbound for almost a full year. I lost weight quickly: 90 pounds. I was at my goal in 6 months. I had to go back 2 doses to maintain and stop losing weight. The nausea has not stopped. It’s better than in the beginning, but I still get it every time for 1 or 2 days after a shot. The diarrhea is terrible. It has never stopped. I get it on day 2, and it is uncontrollable. It’s been almost a year, so I would think some of these side effects would have stopped, but they haven’t. I also get sulfur burps for a day or 2 after a shot. I’m at the point where I might have to stop taking it due to the side effects. I love the weight loss, and I sure don’t want to gain it back, though."
