"When I first started taking Mounjaro, I would get very nauseated, even throw up sometimes. Then my body got used to it, and I actually lost around 25 lbs. I asked my Dr if we could up the dosage because I stopped losing weight. I went up to Mounjaro 5.0. After my first shot, I was fine, just nauseated. After my second shot of 5.0, I broke out in hives all over my body. I continued taking my shot, and on the third week, the hives got worse. I was miserable, itching with large red spots all over. The Dr then lowered my dose back to 1.5, and finally, the hives went away, but I am not losing any more weight."

"Immediately my appetite decreased. I am in my early 70s, always had to watch my weight but was never obese. I just could not lose weight then Monjaro, the miracle drug, came into my life. I’ve been taking this for nine months and I have lost 40 pounds. That is such a miracle for me. I have been on 7.5 for months. They say don’t overeat because it will make you sick, but I don’t know how it’s possible to overeat when I had to force myself to eat. I was a little nauseous in the beginning, but I have learned not to have too much fat or sugar in my diet. The first couple of days after the injection, I feel like a new person. I look like a different person. I am so very grateful for this drug. I heard about it through a friend of my daughter. I say God bless that friend every day!"

"It's like someone flicked a switch and my food cravings and the need to completely eat every meal vanished. Coupled with not eating unhealthy food routinely and exercise, I lost over 50 lbs in 5 months. I am now on maintenance of 5 mg. Side effects include, from month 3, feeling cold far more often and more like an inner chill than just my skin. From month 6 (recent weeks), I have been experiencing itchiness and a mild rash on my upper torso and back. The weight loss has been remarkable, and the side effects minor given the greater health benefits of the weight loss."

"I started on the 2.5 mg dose; after five weeks (first dose at the doctor's office, then four weeks on home supply); then I switched to the 5 mg dose. Side effects for the time from the initial dose through week two of the 5 mg dose were - weight loss of 4 lbs, decreased appetite (less interest in food and felt full after eating half of my previous consumption). BS levels have remained stable at around 130. Suddenly, after two weeks on the 5 mg dose, I developed acute diarrhea. It has lasted 10 days now. This is tiring and affects what I do and where I'm willing to go. I'm not sure how long I'll endure this before talking with the doctor to discuss potential alternatives."

"I am on week 2, cravings have gone, I’m not binge eating anymore. I am on 2.5 mg. However, I have spotting and brown discharge, which are the only side effects I have noticed thus far. Very quick and easy because it’s once a week."

"I'm on my 6th dose as of today. I started 12/30/2023 at 2.5mg for 2 weeks and then increased to 5mg on 1/13/2024. I have lost 12 lbs so far. Prior to starting this medication, I was unable to lose weight no matter what I tried. I even resorted to almost starving myself, but my weight kept increasing. It was a defeating experience. In my 40s, I was always slim, but in my 60s, my weight became a problem. I was diagnosed with Metabolic Syndrome and was at risk of developing Pre-Diabetes. As I continue with the medication, I am learning about what foods I can and cannot eat due to the side effects. These side effects include feeling nauseous or having trouble with bowel movements. I have found that lean meat, vegetables, and whole fruits work well for me. I focus on consuming whole foods and avoid processed foods and sugar. I have also discovered that bananas help with my stomach issues. During weeks 2-4, I experienced instant headaches and occasional nausea. I have adjusted my eating schedule and now ensure that I eat early in the evening, with no food consumption after 6-7pm, except for fluids. Additionally, I have started taking Magnesium Gummies and occasionally having a piece of sugar-free hard candy to help with bowel movements and to combat any unpleasant aftertaste from certain foods sitting in my stomach."

"I'm very new to this drug. It's only my 2nd week using it. I'm a 47-year-old very active woman. I don't have loads of weight to shift, probably around 2 and a half stone. Over the last 4 years, I've lost around 4 stone on my own and kept it off, but I can't seem to lose the remaining, so I thought I would give it a go. I read hundreds of reviews about the drug, so I was aware of all of the side effects and prepared for them as part of the course. I'm now 10 days into it, and I haven't had 1 side effect. I don't know if I'm just one of the lucky ones, but I'm not complaining. I started on a Wednesday morning weighing in at 13st 9lbs. By the following Wednesday, I was 13st 5lbs. It's now 5 days on from that, and I'm down to 13st 2lbs. I'm honestly shocked by the results. I have no regrets from using it and look forward to the end results."

"Works well. The appetite suppression and quieting of “food noise” has been very effective. Unfortunately, I just saw my recent labs and discovered that my triglycerides are well over 500! This is very alarming since I do not consume large amounts of butter, fat, etc. Now I’m worried that I may have/get pancreatitis."

"I was able to take this for 3 months and lost 25 lbs, the best thing to help me lose weight effectively. I am really disappointed that my insurance stopped covering it as it was actually working. I was lucky as I did not have any side effects."

"I’ve been on Mounjaro for 12 weeks and along with a careful diet and more activity, have lost 34 pounds. My A1C is down 1 point and my high blood pressure has improved dramatically. My arthritis symptoms have also decreased substantially. The only adverse effect is constipation but I deal with that on an ongoing basis and is a small price for the immense good this medication has done. It has changed my life and I wish I could have started it a few years ago."

"I started Mounjaro on July 1. Weighing in at 255, I took the 2.5 dose and am on my 4th shot. So far, no side effects, and I have lost 15 lbs. I am 70 and have stage 3 kidney disease. In August, I will begin taking the 5 mg dose and hope to continue with more weight loss."

"I started taking this medication for weight loss. I am 5 foot nine, and I got up to 200 pounds. I lost 11 pounds the first month, and I continued to lose about 5 pounds a month thereafter. My side effects were minimal. I did not have constipation, other people have reported it, but I had quite the opposite. It absolutely decreased my hunger, and by month four, I noticed a huge difference in my fibromyalgia pain. After one year of medication, I have lost 55 pounds. I have never felt better in my entire life because the benefits to my fibromyalgia pain are significant. I decided to go on the shot every other month for maintenance. So far, in the last six months, I have not lost any more weight or gained any more. I tried to push it to three weeks. I did not gain weight, but my body pain came back. So, I am back to the shot every 5 mg, which has been successful for me. I am so grateful to not be obsessing over food. I have to say I have craved red meat more than anything during this diet."

"Within 30 days, I lost 19 pounds and my appetite is satisfied with an extremely small amount of food. Sugary food is NOT a good idea because it will give you diarrhea. Headache and fatigue when I went from 2.5 to 5. My doctor, the best ever, said she is going to keep me on 5 because she doesn’t think I’ll need the 7.5. Fatigue is only two days after taking injection. I’m sure my A1C will be lowered as I am pre-diabetic. I went from 222.8 to 203.3. I’m Afro and Native American (mix) and I’m thankful to the Lord for this medicine. I expect to be 175 by March which is my goal."

"Benefits: Completely stopped the food noise and cravings for fatty and sweet foods, decreased appetite within the first 2 days of injection. Injection not painful at all, tiny needle. Side effects: feelings of fatigue for 2 or 3 days after injection, can feel very bloated due to constipation. Feelings of a lump in the throat due to some acid reflux. Sometimes feel more emotional than normal. Increased periods, 2 periods within 1 month, very heavy and prolonged, appetite increased slightly on last 2 days before next injection due. Can feel shaky/weak if not eating enough calories due to decreased appetite. 1st month of use experience on 2.5 mg."

"I highly recommend this drug. I have lost about 30 pounds in about 15 weeks. I had trouble losing weight my entire life, but this drug has been amazing. I don't lose weight as fast as I thought I would, given the media hype, but am very satisfied at 2 lbs/week without trying that hard. You just don't eat as much without even thinking about it. Even in weeks where I thought I ate too much, I lost a pound, so go for it. I have no side effects yet, but I am just beginning the 10 mg dose next week. My doctor has been step staring me from 2.5 to 5 to 7.5 every month. Cholesterol, blood pressure, and blood sugar/A1C are all down noticeably."

"Female Age: 61, 5'7, starting weight: 223, current weight 183 (lost 40 lbs!), goal weight 145. This has been over a period of 5 months. I did not rely on Mounjaro alone, I have put in hard work with exercise (walking 3 miles, 3 x's/week) and cut out all carbs and sugar. Side effects I experienced at first: mild nausea, weird cold chills and exhaustion. Now I am used to it and have very little side effects. Currently taking 12.5 dose. Love it, I feel amazing and luckily my insurance covers it 100%."

"I have used Mounjaro for several months for weight loss, along with Phentermine and Topamax, under the supervision of my doctor. I had lost over 135 pounds without it in 2 years, but still had 30 pounds to lose to be at a healthy weight. The combination of the three medications, including Mounjaro, was helping significantly. It helped me feel fuller longer, control portions, and appetite! I also changed my diet. However, my insurance denied me from taking it. Now in 3 weeks, I have gained 8 pounds, even with my diet change."

"T2 and overweight. 335 lbs down to 299 lbs inside of 90 days on 10 mg. Mounjaro. Much to do with loss of lifetime panic eating (lost in first 2 weeks). Interruption, hospital for a week, full-time antibiotics due to infection, poor hospital food regained weight. Migrated to 12.5 and now 15 mg. to continue closing 2023 and moving into 2024. No side effects. A1c holding at 5.6/5.7 for the last 1.5 years."

"Mounjaro has assisted me, along with diet and exercise, to lose 35 pounds. The first three months were tough. I experienced all the side effects of nausea, fatigue, sulfur burps, and vomiting usually on day two after the injection. Then, it went away. What also went away from the beginning was the food noise. I wasn't hungry, and I was satisfied with smaller portions. My weight loss has typically been 1-3 pounds per week. With the weight loss, I have more energy and motivation to keep making healthy choices. I feel great, and the injection is easy. It's only once a week, but it's so easy, a slight sting, if that. Mounjaro is a true miracle."

"The medication works for a certain period of time and you will lose weight. The medication will have no effect after six months, however, you can maintain the weight that you lost. The problem with this medication is simply the unavailability of it. Most pharmacies are out of medications, and you have to wait a month or so to get it. This will cause you to gain all the weight you had lost. Not sure why the medication is not available and so difficult to get."

"Lost 4.6 kg (10 pounds) after 4 weeks of 2.5 mg. Now starting 5 mg. No side effects so far. I lost a little bit more at the same rate with Saxenda but the constipation was horrendous, so I like Mounjaro better, I think. I also noticed fewer pimple breakouts while I'm on Mounjaro, so that's a plus."

"I have been on Mounjaro since January, and my A1c was 6.9. Now, it is 5.5, and I have lost 28 lbs. Oh, did I mention I'm 67 years old? It has been a game changer in my life - more energy than I ever had."

"I started Mounjaro December 29, 2024. My starting weight was 249.6. I'm now 243 as of January 12th, 2025. Down 6.6 lbs. I have been in the gym for one year. I'm 51 years old, 5'3". I am prediabetic. My BMI was over 30, and I have high blood pressure, but nothing serious. I was put on a water pill of 12 mg instead. That being said, I am feeling really good about the medication thus far. I read and listened to a lot of reviews via YouTube and articles. The next morning after my first shot, I immediately bought a stool softener. I eat my protein, veggies, fiber, and do all the necessary things to lose and maintain my results. My goal is to lose 50 lbs. That will bring me to an even 200. I'm told numerically, 50 lbs sounds good based on the scale, but to physically look at me, I would look sick, so we'll see. I'm feeling victorious just knowing that I'm doing something to aid in bringing down my blood pressure and not crossing the line of 'diabetic.' My minor side effects were feeling cold."

"I started Mounjaro exactly 7 days ago. I'm 6'4'' and was 320.5 lbs. Today, on day 7, I'm 309 lbs. I'm walking 3 miles a day. I was on 25 units of Humalog and 50 units of Lantus twice a day, and now I'm off insulin. I know I can't expect that kind of weight loss to continue, but my food portions have significantly decreased. For example, a couple of weeks ago, I would have had an English Muffin with two eggs and 3 sausage patties to fill up. Today, I had a piece of toast and one fried egg on top. I'm full right now! I previously tried Ozempic, and it gave me bad headaches, significant itching, and a feeling of sickness. I get slight itching on Mounjaro, no headache, and it appears that my bowel movements are actually very healthy compared to before taking the drug. I just hope this drug doesn't have any significant side effects that I don't know about!"

"Started on 2.5 for 4 weeks, lost 4.5 kg, forgot to eat, total loss of appetite, felt dizzy, probably because I wasn't drinking enough water. Week 5, went to 5 mg, lost just over 1 kg. Now in week 6, have been constipated, having to take laxative, will finish the 5 mg jab another 2 weeks and see how I feel. Amazing result in never hungry and, as a crisp lover, could never have another packet with all the salt, yuk! Usually have chicken fillets, chips, and bread and butter, just don't want bread at all, can only have two small chicken pieces, nothing else, and only because I know I have to eat something. Went to McDonald's with the grandkids, haven't told anyone I'm on this drug. Kids were happy as Nana couldn't finish her burger and chips. Have started craving fruit, which I never eat, will try and carry on and see if I can be sensible."
