For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Horrible experience after taking just the first dose. I’m going on my third week of being out of work. I have never been this sick. Violently vomiting one hour after my first and only dose. Heartburn, no energy, brain fog, couldn’t even speak coherently for the first 48 hours after taking. This stuff is like poison. Do not take it."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I'm on my second week. I've lost 2-3 lb. I feel less hungry and don't lose control after I eat. I don't constantly think about food. If I overeat, I feel sick after. I still want sweets, but I can eat very little and feel content, almost put off by it. I feel the most side effect symptoms right after the injections. The side effects have been mild, probably because I put the injection into my thigh instead of my stomach. They include: bowel movements, weird taste in mouth, headaches, tiredness, tummy ache, and earache. But very mild. I'm excited to move up to a full dose."

For Type 2 Diabetes "1st, I did not take Rybelsus to lose weight, only trying to get A1C down. For 10 days on this, I did not vomit, but the feeling is there, sometimes I have to gag myself to get that feeling to go away. Felt tired all the time, trouble sleeping, and my stomach always feels full. I don't have much of an appetite either, and oh boy, diarrhea the first 3 days almost seems like you can't leave the house and almost like uncontrollable, need to stay near the throne. 4-5 days later, the diarrhea seems to be better, but the nausea and vomiting feelings keep me away from this med. Also, if anyone likes to try this med, I suggest getting some ginger chew candy, it does help the nausea feelings. One more thing: if you are a guy, beware of this, your libido will go down :-("

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started on the low dose .25, had nausea, loss of appetite, little loose stool, tired, and just didn't feel good. Lasted for 3-4 days. Next dose, the symptoms increased, especially the loose stool, lasted most of the day for 4 days. The next dose, the doctor had me go to .5, and I say OMG, it was the worst I have ever felt. Couldn't eat, watery diarrhea, burping horribly, tired, and just felt so sick. I told my doctor I can't do this. Symptoms still going after being off for a week and a half. I just hope it stops soon. I do not recommend it to anyone."

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I always had some side effects of Ozempic. Mainly exhaustion, nauseous, occasional throwing up after eating, constipation. As month 3 came and the dose increased to 1 mg, I ended up in the emergency room. I was vomiting and had liquid diarrhea for 4 days. My heart rate was elevated, and my potassium was dangerously low. At the time, I thought it was a stomach bug-until the next injection caused the same effects. I've been on anti-nausea medication since. I can see why it takes the appetite away-being exhausted and nauseous 24/7 is terrible. Potassium is still not where it should be. Hoping this gets out of my system fast."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have taken Ozempic, 1 injection of .25 on Feb 1st, 2020. I have had diarrhea ever since: nausea, gastritis (inflamed stomach), reflux, stomach pain (can't touch my stomach), dizzy, tired all the time, had to call an ambulance as I almost passed out, shaky, dehydrated from going to the washroom so often. I was in bad shape, and I live on my own. Supposed to take this needle again tonight, don't think this is going to happen."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Run away. Just run away from Ozempic. Yeah, this will help with your blood sugar, sure. It will also give you terrible side effects. I have been nauseous for 2 weeks, dizzy, headache, lethargy, have gas constantly. My guts hurt so much I've cried. I ended up at the emergency room in the middle of the night, it got so severe. They gave me 2 different types of IV medicine to help and a bag of saline. They told me to quit the medicine immediately but also warned me these side effects could last WEEKS after my last dose. Can't even function. If I take the meds to keep from puking, I'm basically comatose, if I don't, my stomach, neck, and head hurt so much I cry."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been taking 3 mg Rybelsus since June 4th. I am not experiencing nausea nor diarrhea, however, I am experiencing constipation and loss of appetite. Since I have been taking this medication, I notice I get tired very quickly. Overall, I notice that it has helped my diabetes tremendously, and I have lost 8 lbs with very little exercise. I also take metformin 750 ER. Before starting Rybelsus, my A1C was 8.1, I do expect it to be much lower on my next visit in September."

For Type 2 Diabetes "My doctor gave me a sample box of 3 mg Rybelsus for T2D. I could only tolerate it for 10 days. The first thing I noticed was my appetite was gone. As days went on, I felt like I was in my first trimester of pregnancy, although I didn’t ever feel like vomiting. Continuous nausea, lack of appetite, lethargy, and horrible constipation were my friends during the time I took the drug and for about a week afterward. I ended up in the ER with terrible IBS with very painful cramps. I thought I had a blockage from no BMs for 12 days. After being off the drug for about a week, one day I woke up and the symptoms were gone (about a week after I stopped taking it). I felt like myself again. During that short time period, the pounds just started melting off me, and I only weighed 138 going into this. I dropped down to 130. I really wanted this drug to work for me. My doctor tried to prescribe Trulicity after this. No way. It’s too similar. My A1C is 8. Not sure where to go from here."

"I started this medication on Dec 20th, 2022, 3 mg when my doctor told me I was diabetic. I weighed 206 lbs. A1C 6.5. The first month on this, I was nauseous and felt sick. At 30 days, I told him what I felt. He said, 'I am putting you on 7 mg now. Your body will get used to it.' Here I am now, 3 months later, and I am so sick. I get nauseous still, have constipation, diarrhea, and loss of appetite, and the smell of food at times is so nasty. I am constantly feeling sick, dizziness, and I feel lightheaded, always exhausted, no energy, which scares me. My A1C is lower now, 6.1. I have pretty much stopped having sweets, carbs, or anything bad. Weight loss is out of control. My current weight is 157 lbs today when I went to the doctor. I have lost 49 lbs in 4 months. I told him I can’t take this anymore. He changed me to metformin 500 mg, let’s see how this one works. This medication hurt me more than it helped me."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I was on Metformin and had an A1c of 8. The doctor told me to get off Metformin and gave me a sample of 3 mg Rybelsus and prescribed the 7 mg dose after 1 month. My morning blood sugars with Metformin were 111 to 88. With Rybelsus, my blood sugar in the morning has been 148 to 208! I had diarrhea with Metformin, but that went away with Rybelsus, however, my stomach has become bloated, lots of burping, slightly nauseous, no appetite, a tightness in my chest, and now that I am using the 7 mg dose, I have become exceedingly tired with zero appetite. Today my blood sugar was 177. This is unacceptable. It was way lower with Metformin. I am quitting this. I can't be this tired and feeling so ill. I used to have energy with Metformin, but Rybelsus has completely drained it. I feel the doctor had just been visited by the Big Pharma salesman and gave her the sales pitch, and she started prescribing it. Is she getting a kickback? This Rybelsus is not good and causes cancer."

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "Went to my endo, desperate from dealing with both hypothyroidism and menopause. Have regularly put on 30 kg over the past 5 years up to 114 kg, have extreme fatigue, spine issues, and severe leg pain/body aches. Was prescribed Ozempic to assist with weight loss as nothing else worked. I was very worried about side effects and it not working after reading reviews. Started my 0.25 mg dose 3 days ago, injecting in the upper thigh just before bed, but didn't get the full dose as I pulled it out a tad early. Had some mild nausea the next morning that only lasted a few minutes and developed a headache, but panadol took care of that. I didn't notice much the first day and was worried that it wasn't going to work. However, on day 2, I was only able to eat about 1/3 of my dinner and felt full. Have already lost 0.5 kg in just 3 days. No other side effects that I can tell. Though I do feel more thirsty and am a bit tired; however, that's normal for me, so can't say it's a side effect. Happy so far!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "I’ve been taking Ozempic for a few weeks now after taking Byetta and not liking it. I also take Lantus, Humulin, Metformin, and Phentermine. I also take 2 blood pressure meds, cholesterol, nerve, and anxiety meds. I’ve had PCOS since 2000, had gestational diabetes with my youngest in 2008, and was officially diagnosed as diabetic in 2015. Last year, I had the scare of my life and went into ketoacidosis and was in ICU for a week. I have a new endocrinologist who started me on Ozempic. I started out with an A1C of 11.5 and brought it down to 7.5. I’ve lost 7 lbs so far. I have blurred vision, stumble, no appetite, constipation, no energy, insomnia, sick to my stomach, and gross belches. I feel like stuff is lodged and stuck in my chest all the time. I sure hope these side effects don’t last forever because I feel like this medicine is making my blood sugars under control for the first time in my life. I have the Dexcom G6, and it consistently checks my levels and my average is 149."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I've been on Ozempic 0.25 for five weeks, it's great for losing weight, but the side effects are not worth it. Let me review what Ozempic has been like. The first three weeks were okay, and then I started noticing nausea, stomach burning, headache, dizziness, upper back pain, severe constipation, and feeling very tired and depressed. I ended up in the ER with a mild pancreatic attack and high lipase levels. I've had no desire to eat or even drink water. It makes me gag, and I used to drink a lot of water. I'm done with these injections. I will stay on my metformin, but I can do better on a healthy eating lifestyle than on Ozempic and all the negative side effects. Quality of life has gone from a 10 to a 1, and that is not me. I'm taking my life back. It's really just healthy eating, and we can all do that with willpower. Good luck to everyone else."

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I have tried so many types of diets, shakes, personal fitness training, you name it, and weight did not budge. Since starting on Ozempic at the end of November 21, I have lost 10 kg over 2 months and counting. I started on 0.25 mg and have progressively moved on to 1 mg (which I have been on for 2 weeks). Besides some tiredness, I have had no side effects. It is easy to use, and the fine needle is painless. So happy!!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "Thankfully, I checked my lipase, as this medication affected my pancreas after only three months. As soon as I stopped taking it, my pancreas blood work went back to normal. I called Ozempic laboratory, and they said they won’t refund me the dose I already purchased, even though I haven’t used them. Yes, my A1C went back to normal, however, I was feeling exhausted all the time, and if I did not ask my doctor for some blood work regarding all the potential side effects, I would have never known that my pancreas was affected, and this could have ended as pancreatic cancer. I stopped it and am now taking Metformin."

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I started Ozempic for weight loss, started with 0.25, then 0.5, then 0.75, all this in 7 weeks. I lost 7 kilos in 6 weeks. But I was extremely nauseated and exhausted most of the time. Another thing I found and would love to know if anyone else experienced it. It extremely triggered my adenomyosis. I was constantly bleeding and had severe stomach and back pain. I just got off Ozempic to see if it will settle. Apparently, they say bleeding has nothing to do with it, but when I missed an injection after a few days, everything settled. I think this is an unreported, maybe rare side effect."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I took my first dose a week ago. I began to have a reaction the next day. It started with a mild headache, a little nausea. Then, as the week progressed, I began to be super lethargic, tired, taking day naps. Fast forward to Sunday, I am literally near passing out at a wedding. This is not for me. I will continue to watch my calories and stay on my regular regimen. I have been ill for 4 days and can't wait for this to be over."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I've been taking this for 2.5 months. I've lost a solid 10 pounds. I take it right before bed so I can sleep off the initial side effects, if any. There is a little bit of diarrhea, nothing too crazy. I have major loss of appetite, I can eat half meals or half kids' meals and I'm always full after a few bites. Sugars are low. The major side effect is nausea, but it isn't every day. I've thrown up 3 times within the past 3 months, which is something I never did prior. It comes out of nowhere, and honestly, I'm unsure if it is this injectable or just from taking an iron supplement and vitamin. Could be the vitamin. I feel tired also, not sure if it's just work or a side effect. Overall, I'm happy with the injectable, plus it beats taking a pill every day."

"I’ve been on Ozempic since May to help with weight loss. Started with 0.25 and now am up to 1 mg. The nausea has been fearless. The constipation is unreal. I’ve ended up with major hemorrhoids. I’m always tired. I have lost 14 lbs, but these side effects are ruining my life. This is not worth it."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "First dose 0.25mg, had slight stomach pain/discomfort. Later that same night, my appetite disappeared. Just seeing a fast-food commercial on TV made me feel nauseous. I thought if that's the worst of the side effects that affect me, then I'll be very happy with that. By the next day, stomach pain and nausea increased. By 4:00 am, BAM! Diarrhea, severe stomach pain, projectile vomiting, headache, chest pain, severe itching mainly on the palms of my hands and arms. I truly thought 'this must be what it feels like to be poisoned!' I was scared. It is now the next day and I feel fine. A little tired from lack of sleep from feeling so sick. I think I will do my second dose next week...but I'm quite nervous of a repeat of feeling like I was dying from the stomach pains and vomiting. Will I continue with this drug?...jury is still out! On the positive side, I've already lost 5 pounds; but of course, I can't & don't want to eat, too much nausea and vomiting."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I was okay on the 0.25 mg and 0.5 mg doses of this drug, Ozempic. Then, five weeks ago, I upped to 1 mg as planned. About four weeks ago, my mood changed, and I started to get pain in my joints and bones. Achy all over and no energy. Two weeks ago, the abdominal pains, gas, diarrhea, and those awful sulfur burps arrived. I feel absolutely awful, and the doctor is convinced it is this drug increasing. No appetite either and feeling sick. Was loving the drug in the beginning, but now I feel like I've got permanent flu!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "Pros: Blood sugar and weight became stable. Cons: However, after 18 months of taking a .5 dose, I feel tired and weak all the time, even though I am active and walk 3 miles four days per week. Plan: wean off Ozempic gradually to see if my energy returns once my system is cleared of the drug. Recommend: depends on the severity of Type 2 and whether a person has the knowledge and ability to control illness with diet and lifestyle, which is what I plan to do."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I just took my second dose on Friday of 0.5. I feel like garbage, no energy, tired, stomachache. I work out 4 days a week and I just can’t seem to find the energy to work out. I may stop using this drug because I’m so active and the past few days I can’t seem to do much. Appetite is gone completely. I don’t like that I have lost a few pounds but not the right way. I feel like I am starving myself, this is not for me."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been on it for 2 months. I am at .5 right now and have lost 18 pounds. That’s great, but I am exhausted lately and very constipated. Going to my primary on Friday for blood work. If the side effects continue, I will have to stop."
