For Type 2 Diabetes "Been on Rybelsus 3 mg for 16 days. Sugars have improved somewhat already, and weight down about 5 pounds, unexpected. BUT, no appetite, stomach feels full all the time, hard to even drink enough water each day because stomach so uncomfortable. Constipation that is not very responsive to Miralax. Cold hands. Some nausea. More heartburn than usual. Increased fatigue. And the worst is: dizziness and/or vertigo and a feeling of weird fullness in my head along with tinnitus. What the heck? Given the high cost, and that I've all these effects even before going on the 7 mg dosage, I don't think it's worth it."

For Type 2 Diabetes "My last comments were on July 10. I had Rybelsus 3 mg. Now I just finished 7 mg. The med didn’t have any effect on me. Not the 3 mg and not the 7 mg. Tomorrow I will start the 14 mg. Thus far, I did not lose ANY weight. My A1C was, at start, 6.1 and I need to lose about 15-20. No nausea… no lack of appetite… The only side effect is constipation. My eating in general is healthy and controlled. But zero weight loss? Disappointed! I will try the 14 mg and see what happens. Maybe my body needs a “sledgehammer to hit it” to get some results. Lol. Who knows! I really want it to work. I’ll be back to share. Good luck to all. Stay safe."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started Rybelsus back in October 2021, 3 mg moved up to 7 mg in November, lost a total of 20 lbs. I do suffer from constipation real bad, still trying to determine if it’s from the medication or something more serious. I do notice Rybelsus curbs your appetite and you feel full fast. My only complaint is if I didn’t have prescription insurance, I would not be able to afford this medication, very expensive."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Seems to work well keeping moderately high blood sugar levels under control. Nice side effect was losing 25 lbs. But, it could be the source of constipation, which I had never experienced until having used this drug for several months."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I needed to lose weight, non-diabetic. I started Rybelsus 3 mg 3 weeks ago, weight was at 166-ish. After this long, my weight has fluctuated between 165-166 but didn't drop anything really. Didn't exercise like crazy, but did bike rides, etc., and nada. Bumping up to 7 mg from July 9th, but really need to drop 20-25 lbs... Anyway, finishing up the last week of my 3 mg. Noticed I do get a little backed up, but took a laxative and drank lots of water to help with that. Zero side effects otherwise. **Update 7/19/2021: started 7 mg 2 weeks ago and weight started suddenly dropping. I was 166 when I started 3 mg, but as of today, I'm down to 161. Will continue on with the meds. I should probably exercise too to help boost the loss...."

"I have taken Rybelsus for nine months and have lost 33 lbs. I have no side effects except constipation. For that, I eat grapes or prunes and occasional Mag 07. I have progressed from 3.5 dosage to 14. I have to buy it out of the country."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on Rybelsus for over three months now. Initially, I saw multiple doctors with a complaint of chronic diarrhea while on Metformin. No one would consider taking me off of the Metformin. Finally, I went to a teaching facility, and they did stop it, and they put me on the Rybelsus. No problems at all with a 3 mg, and then we went to 7 mg. My taste buds suddenly changed, and I could not eat anything that was greasy or sweet, and I could not eat any meat. From the diarrhea, I lost 30 pounds. I have also been weak and tired every day. I have weird nightmares, and I am now walking and talking in my sleep. I have been on the 14 mg for two weeks now, and I was fine up until yesterday. It was as though I could feel my belly swelling up with gas, and it was very painful. Diarrhea has now turned to constipation. I used to drink three bottles of water a day, now I can’t even get down one because I can’t stand the taste of anything. I did not take my pill today because I am sick."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have gone between 3 mg and 7 mg while using Rybelsus. I notice extreme joint pain, blurred vision, and dry eyes is reason for my doctor allowing me to switch between 3 mg and 7 mg meds. I also suffer from loose stools and constipation daily; however, my main concern is excruciating joint pain all through my entire body. Since I take one med for high blood pressure and the Rybelsus, I stopped taking the meds for blood pressure for 4 days and the side effects listed above remained. I really do not enjoy having to wait 30 minutes before having a meal. I will be meeting with my internal doctor and sadly discuss whether to remain on this useful med. I really do not want injection type of meds."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Had usual side effects, 3 mg increased appetite and sugar levels. 7 mg nausea, decreased appetite and lost 9 lbs, A1C down to 7.8 from 8.7. On for 3 months and just starting constipation. Next visit, Dr. will up to 14 mg. Will see how that goes…"

For Type 2 Diabetes "I'm on 14 mg a day, since July, and now I'm experiencing pain in my upper thigh after my morning dosage. It's been for about 2 weeks now. I've also experienced some constipation. Other than that, I have no problem with this medication. Hopefully, we can find out what's with these side effects."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I am on 3 mg for a month, constipation and stomach pain, occasional vomiting. The next month, 7 mg and side effect symptoms are worse: belching, rotten-tasting burps, stomach pain, vomiting food still on my stomach 24 hours later. I will try to persevere since some people say it gets better. Not going up to 14 mg next month till I see my A1C levels. My daily numbers are better, but I feel like I'm wrecking my digestion."

For Type 2 Diabetes "One month on Rybelsus. Blood sugar levels are down from 150 to 116-96. I have extreme nausea, constipation, and I am unable to eat more than 1-2 cups of food at a meal. I am rarely hungry. Food seems to become lodged in my esophagus and is painful. I have lost 13 lbs. in a month. Fatigue is an issue. My autoimmune retinopathy, which surfaced after cataract surgery, is worse. I fear I will not be able to continue this med."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Not good. From acid reflux to feeling of throwing up, never went away. This makes me feel drowsy and weak. Also, severe constipation. It does reduce your craving for food and also reduces glucose level, but the side effects are not worth it."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I was taking 1000 mg of Metformin, which did a good job for me over the last few years. My last A1C check put me at 8.3, so my doctor recommended Rybelsus to try. I have been on it for a month. My readings are going down. I am experiencing gas, some nausea, and constipation. My appetite decreased, but I am eating healthier foods such as fruits, yogurt, and vegetables. I still have a cocktail once or twice a week. I will see my doctor in July for an updated A1C check. I started Rybelsus 7mg, and my body is adjusting to it."

For Type 2 Diabetes "On Rybelsus for almost a year. My A1c has improved from an 8.1 to 7.2. However, I have not lost any weight as most people have. I have chronic constipation. My gastro advised a low fiber diet -- yes, low fiber -- and laxatives every other day. My daily numbers are all over the place. When I do finally have a bowel movement, I have stomach pain followed by diarrhea. Next time I go, I'll ask what alternative medicine I could try. I can't take metformin because after many years on it, I started to have stomach problems, and eliminating metformin helped greatly."

For Type 2 Diabetes "My doctor advised me to start with 3 mg for two to four weeks. She suggested if I was good at two weeks to up to 7 mg dose. I have been on 7 mg for 3.5 weeks and feel nauseated more often than not. I also bounce between diarrhea and constipation. Not sure how much longer I can do this. How long before these side effects lessen?"

For Type 2 Diabetes "I’m worried because with Rybelsus 3 mg for a month, didn’t lose any weight, but nausea and barely eating. Now at 6 mg because I’m doubling almost a month with, now, lost only 1 pound. My worry is that I’ve been having sudden kicks in my legs, tingling, like neuropathy, still nauseated, constipated, and my stomach most of the time with heartburn and acid reflux. Should I stop? I don’t even have diabetes, just pre-diabetic."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Took Byetta injection for 16 years. Insurance no longer covered, so was switched to Rybelsus, 7 mg. Since I was on a similar drug (Byetta) for so long, had absolutely no side effects other than mild constipation. For the first 3 weeks, BGLs seemed more stable, but in the 4th week, BGLs seemed to have risen steadily, and I’ve had to increase Novolog to compensate. Kind of feel like I had more control with Byetta. Will wait and see."

For Type 2 Diabetes "A1c crept up to 6.9. Started Rybelsus for a 30-day intro with fairly vague side effects of light nausea, constipation, and reduced appetite. Increased to regular 7 dosage and immediately side effects were extreme and awful. Constant significant nausea, abdominal discomfort, significant constipation, low energy. Almost no desire to eat, and if I did eat, even very little food caused even more discomfort that escalated. Food just sat in my stomach feeling heavy and sour. Heartburn and gas were constant. After just 5 days of a larger dose, I stopped the medication but with lingering side effects. After being off the drug for two days, I sustained immense abdominal pain like I have NEVER experienced that finally culminated in strange diarrhea. Too many intense and questionable side effects for me. Weight loss - by not being able to eat - not worth the escalating horrible side effects for me. I'll never take this drug again."
