For Migraine "Within 20 minutes of taking Nurtec ODT, I had the nausea, which I had read about. I took some Zofran, but it didn’t even touch it. Then I had diarrhea and horrible stomach pain, as well as really intense reflux. It felt like I was swallowing fire, 17 hours and counting now. The worst part of this is my migraine isn’t even all the way gone! It is definitely diminished but not gone. I have never written a review on here, but this has been such an awful reaction I knew I had to. I will never take this again. Everyone is different, but for me, this has been a really terrible experience."

For Migraine "I had taken Nurtec several times over 5 months as needed to abort attacks. It did help, but the attacks just came back. At first, I didn't have many side effects, but over time I seemed to have more side effects each time I took it. I started to have terrible heartburn and bad stomach pains, and my gut just felt horrible in general after taking only 1/2 pill. I also had severe tiredness, dyspnea, and I seriously would get a cold after each time taking it. Then recently, I had a really stubborn migraine and took a few doses throughout the week trying to end the attack, and suddenly it made my migraine MUCH worse, and I had trouble breathing. I also developed SEVERE panic attacks and psychosis! Then I ended up in the ER with a hypertensive crisis. My BP was out of control and not going down (165/115). I got treatment for that, but it took weeks to feel completely normal again. This was among the most terrifying experiences of my life. Use with caution! (I'm an otherwise healthy 33-year-old man)"

For Migraine Prevention "Originally, upon reading reviews here, I was hesitant to try this new medication. After years of triptan use and a continued increase in migraines per month, I ultimately decided that I had nothing to lose at this point. So, I took my first Nurtec two weeks ago and it turned out really well for me. I take it as a preventative every other day. I’ve not had a single migraine since the first dose. It feels like a miracle. I’m pleasantly surprised by the outcome. That being said, I did have stomach pain for the first few days. It eventually subsided as my body adjusted. Thankfully, I’ve yet to experience any further side effects, and I’m sensitive to medications. This whole experience has been positively surprising. I will convey that triptans caused numerous awful side effects for me: chest pain, muscle tightness, restlessness, anxiety, difficulty breathing, and eventually rebound migraines. I couldn’t take them anymore. Nurtec is far better!"

For Migraine Prevention "My neurologist prescribed Nurtec as a migraine preventative. I took it every other day for nearly a month. I noticed a few side effects, but at the time I just chalked them up to coincidence. First of all, after eating even a little bit, my stomach felt as if I'd eaten a huge meal. The food didn't seem to move from my stomach. It just sat there, causing me pain. Second, my body began to ache all over. My joints--wrists, shoulders, hips, knees, ankles--all hurt. Third, I woke up one morning with the worst acid reflux I'd ever had. It felt like someone had poured gasoline down my throat and lit a match. I did some research online and found out all of these are possible side effects from Nurtec. Yikes! I quit taking it immediately, but I'm still having the horrible joint pain. I'm hoping that goes away soon. I also started taking acid reflux medication (pantoprazole) and hope my reflux will soon go away. The sad irony is that Nurtec did help my migraines. But it's just not worth it."

For Migraine "I recently tried Nurtec ODT (rimegepant) for my migraines, and while it did relieve my migraine, the side effects made it difficult to justify taking it again. I want to share my experience to help others decide if it’s the right option for them. 1. Effective Migraine Relief I’ll give Nurtec credit where it’s due—it worked for my migraine. Within about 1-2 hours, the pain significantly reduced, and I was able to function again. The relief lasted for over a day, which was impressive. 2. Severe Nausea & Stomach Pain The downside? The nausea hit me hard. Shortly after taking it, I felt waves of stomach discomfort and queasiness that lasted for hours. I tried taking it with food, but it didn’t seem to help much. The stomach pain made it difficult to enjoy the relief from my migraine. 3. Lingering Fatigue Even after the nausea faded, I felt drained and sluggish for the rest of the day. It was almost like a migraine hangover."

For Migraine "I wanted to leave a review since I figured most people who bother to leave one only do so when they have a negative experience. So for those of you who rely on reviews to make your decisions as I do, I just wanted to leave my own experience. I tried my first Nurtec today after avoiding it for a while out of fear that I’d have a negative reaction. I wish I had taken it before during my last two migraines because the only side effect I had was VERY mild dizziness. So mild that I could shower and walk around and feel fine. Other than that, no nausea, no stomach pain, nothing. My headache is gone and I feel completely fine. So grateful for this medication!"

For Migraine "Nurtec worked great for my migraines with no immediate side effects, however, the following day it gave me horrible stomach pain lasting 3-4 days. It started day two after taking, and I was buckled over in pain and cramps. It didn’t cause gas, diarrhea, or constipation, just pain in my guts. Dull tearing pain. I tried it a couple of times to make sure it wasn’t coincidental. I would rather have a migraine."

For Migraine Prevention "Been taking for about 6 months for my chronic migraine syndrome. The first few times, I did have the stomach pain that others are describing, but it went away after the first week. I had daily migraines and now only 3 to 4 days a week, so about a 50% improvement, I’ll take it! I definitely recommend trying Nurtec, I’m glad I did! You can also get it for free as long as your doctor submits the paperwork to Pfizer."

For Migraine "Side effects are worse than Imitrex, and the taste is awful. If this actually worked, I may have been able to deal with the fatigue, stomach pain, and nausea, but alas, it’s like popping a horribly flavored breath mint with no effect on headaches! No thanks."
