For Migraine Prevention "Within a few doses (was taking it every other day) caused brain fog, dizziness, nausea, and felt a tightness in my head. While it did stop a migraine in about 1 1/2 hours, I only started it on 7/20/2022. At the doctor's suggestion, I tried again, and on Monday, 8/01/2022, I had worse of the same symptoms. Have not and will not take another dose, but it is now Wednesday, 8/03/2022, and I still feel not just the brain fog but the tightness in my head and feel like I'm on sleeping pills. Left another message for the doctor. I WILL NOT take this medication again. Causing more health issues than just having migraines."

For Migraine "I’ve had migraines for about 15 years, however, as I’ve gotten older, they have gotten worse. I don’t like taking pills, so I’m not on any preventatives. When I get an episode, I typically get really bad pain behind an eye, throbbing headache, and nausea and vomiting. The episodes last about 2-3 days, and I get them 2 times a month. It is horrific to feel this way. I take Naratriptan, but my doctor wanted me to try Nurtec. I just tried it for the first time a few hours ago. It did relieve most of the pain after about 2 hours. With that said, I still have some pain behind the eye and feel loopy, and you can only take 1 every 24 hours, this sucks! I think I will stick with Naratriptan doses for 3 days. I don’t get why they haven’t come out with medication that actually aborts it after one dose. This is so exhausting."

For Migraine "I have cycles of migraines and occasionally, hemiplegic migraines. A smaller episode lasts 8 hours, but there are times they'll go on for weeks with repeated attacks back to back. I tried triptans, but they didn't help. I also tried Topamax, which was one of the worst experiences-didn't help, and the side effects were awful. So I was relieved to find that Nurtec works if I catch my migraine early enough (and eases the migraine if I'm already in one). No nausea so far. I find that my mouth feels a little strange sometimes, but it is mild. I don't get brain fog when I take this, which is the biggest plus. For me, I'll see benefits within 30 to 60 minutes. I also don't get tired or groggy. The only negatives: not sure how I would even begin to afford it without the copay card, the packaging is excessive, and it can be difficult to get at my pharmacy. But Nurtec was a game changer for my migraines."

For Migraine Prevention "I've had migraines since I was a young child. My 2-3 migraine days a month became 3-4 migraine days a week with nausea, auras, speech, and cognitive issues. Sumatriptan gave minor relief and unwanted side effects. While taking Nurtec every other day for 2 months, I've had 2 minor migraines, one self-inflicted. I took an early dosage to treat the breakthrough migraine and adjusted my schedule accordingly. Sometimes migraines try to creep in just before the next dose. I still get some brain fog, but I'm not sure of the actual cause. No noticeable side effects! So happy not to miss work or life because I'm 'sleeping off' a migraine. Feels like a miracle. The disintegrating tablets are convenient, but the packaging is frustrating. The expense is terribly prohibitive. Wish my sis could try it. Currently, my insurance does not cover it, but I receive it at no cost. I would hate to lose access at this point. It's certainly not for everyone, but is a major relief for me."

For Migraine "I’ve had migraines for years, and it took a specialist to finally listen to me and take me seriously. Prescribed Nurtec, and it’s like a miracle. I take it when I start to feel a migraine coming on, and within 20 minutes, the pain, neck and shoulder tension, and brain fog are gone and stay gone for 48 hours. My episodes sometimes last 4-5 days, and I can take it twice and have relief the whole time. Before Nurtec, I thought my migraines were just pain, but now I know that the tension and brain fog are part of it too. No other meds work for me, and I would eat Advil like candy for 5 days just to be able to function. I’m so very grateful for this drug!"

For Migraine "I've had migraines for 25 years. Have always controlled them with dihydroergotamine injections, but since I am now over the age of 65, that is no longer recommended due to the risk of stroke. My doctor gave me samples of Nurtec. I got a migraine and took the Nurtec pretty soon after onset. The headache went away in 2 hours, but I was left with the feeling of a 10-ton weight in my head for the next 18 hours, and the brain fog that usually accompanies my migraines became 10 times worse and lasted for 8 days! On the positive side, I did not have another migraine for over a month, when I normally would have had at least one a week. This is why I gave it a 3. I wish Nurtec came in a lower dosage so I could try to keep using it."

For Migraine "Amazing new med... has had preventative effects for me so far. Life-changing without any side effects. No brain fog or fatigue as with Imitrex. Decided to try Nurtec first before injectables!"
