For Influenza "I woke up with a fever, body aches, chills, and slight congestion, and when my fever got pretty high and wouldn’t break, I decided to go to the doctor. She did a basic checkup and decided I had the flu and prescribed me Tamiflu. She told me to take two pills that day with food. I took the first pill with a meal, and within 10 minutes, I was uncontrollably vomiting. Over the span of three hours, I vomited over and over again. I couldn’t keep anything down, and even after all the food and liquids were out of my system, I was vomiting bile. Literally, the worst stomach cramps I have ever had in my life, and my pain tolerance is pretty high. I ended up in the ER and had to have an IV for the pain and because I was so severely dehydrated. Awful experience, and I would never EVER recommend such a dangerous drug to anybody. Also, the doctor at the ER said it wasn’t a good quality drug, and he never prescribed it to anyone because of the severe side effects."

For Influenza "I was prescribed this for influenza A. I almost didn't take it because my symptoms, while tough, were not THAT severe. No high fever, no bad cough, etc. But since the doctor prescribed it, I decided to take it. Basically, I spent $50 to feel WORSE. About an hour after taking it, I started to have a serious headache, and then the nausea and stomach pain started. I was up literally all night vomiting and clutching my stomach. This morning I was so out of it and was dehydrated due to the vomiting. I am not taking any additional doses. What a waste of money and a dangerous drug."

For Influenza "My doctor prescribed me 75 mg of Tamiflu 2 times a day. It did nothing to me but make me throw up. I don’t understand the purpose of it at all. Everything online says it may shorten your influenza by a day. I did not throw up one time before Tamiflu. Why is this medicine given to people? Horrible product with horrible side effects with a slight chance of shortening your symptoms."

For Influenza "I followed directions and took this with food. Within 2 hours, I started experiencing nausea which would lead to vomiting. This cycle then repeated itself several times. I ended up vomiting 5 times within 2 hours. The weird thing is that even when my stomach was completely emptied out and I had stopped consuming anything, even water, I kept vomiting, but nothing would come out. This was a much worse experience than the flu itself, not worth it to knock out only 1 day of illness. I would only take this if you are at high risk of developing pneumonia and are otherwise unhealthy/immuno-compromised. I would not give to children at all. I understand Tamiflu works fine for some people, but it really is a risky dice roll, and I will not be taking it again or finishing the regimen. They should change the advertising on this to say, 'For when you want to feel worse than the flu.'"

For Influenza "My husband was prescribed Tamiflu, and an hour after taking one pill, he was up all night vomiting and felt way worse than before. I've never seen him so sick in my life, it was terrible. I would not recommend this medicine to anyone."

For Influenza "After taking the second dose of Tamiflu, I began to throw up unconditionally. I could eat or drink anything for over a day. I only took 3 doses. Not worth it at all! Just makes you very sick. Now it's been 4 days since I took my last dose of 3 pills, and I can still hardly stomach food, and my stool is pale."

For Influenza "Be aware of the side effects before taking this medication. The doctor said I had the flu and prescribed me Tamiflu, 75 mg every 12 hours. I started having headaches, and shortly after that, I started vomiting severely with intense abdominal pain. I had to rush to the hospital because the stomach pain was unbearable. When I got to the hospital, the doctor told me to stop taking Tamiflu. I’m still feeling the abdominal pain, but not as bad, and still can’t eat anything. Never again will I be taking this medication!!"

For Influenza "I was diagnosed with influenza A. My doctor prescribed Tamiflu. The worst mistake I ever made was taking that stuff. It made me feel worse than the flu itself: nausea, vomiting, anxiety, sleeplessness. Took six doses out of 10, and I had to stop, I could not take it anymore. I will never take Tamiflu again!"

For Influenza "This is the worst 'medicine' I have ever taken... I went to urgent care and it was prescribed to me. The next morning, I took one pill, and within 30 minutes, I started vomiting. I vomited 4 times within 1 hour and then was dry heaving. Then I did a little bit of research on the drug, and some of these reviews are scary! Hallucinations? Really?! It's not worth it, don't waste your money and time. I would rather suffer through the flu than ever take another one of those pills again. I learned my lesson: always do some research before taking a new medication. My doctor didn't mention any side effects to me, nor did the packaging mention any."

For Influenza "Caused me painful nausea and then vomiting about 30 minutes after taking it. Had to use a suppository promethazine to relieve nausea. Took it again about 5 years later for another flu - same thing happened. Just made me feel worse, but it worked for the rest of my family."

For Influenza "I got the flu, and it hit me hard. I fainted and was so sick that I went to the ER. They tested me, and I had influenza B. They prescribed this antibiotic, and the first time I took it, I felt completely fine, however, on the second day I took it, I got intense nausea and vomited to try to feel better. As soon as I started vomiting, I got a nosebleed as well. I spent the night vomiting continuously, and after that, I couldn’t keep anything down for about 2 days, along with intense pain in my abdomen. This felt worse than the actual flu."

For Influenza "I took Tamiflu about 30 hours after showing flu symptoms. A nasal swab showed I was positive for Type A influenza. I vomited about 1 1/2 hours after the first two doses. I was tempted to stop the medication but did not. I am feeling nearly 100% better, and it is now day 4. I would definitely take this again."

For Influenza "I had flu symptoms, so my doctor prescribed me Tamiflu. Every time I took it, I felt like I was going to vomit. I haven't felt like eating, so luckily I couldn't vomit. It sort of made me dizzy, and it gave me a headache. I wouldn't recommend the medicine to anybody."

For Influenza "I was so excited to start Tamiflu. I thought that it would help the pain go away and shorten the symptoms. It all started with a mild cough and a sore throat. The next day, I woke up with a 102.6 fever around 3 a.m. and started vomiting. I went to urgent care the next day, and they gave me Tamiflu. I will NEVER take this again. I was more nauseous than before, and I was vomiting like crazy! After taking this medicine, I feel worse than I did before I started taking it. I 100% do NOT recommend."

For Influenza "Sick, sick with flu, Tamiflu added to illness, nausea and vomiting. Don't know if it made the flu last shorter, made me too nauseous to know. Just ride out the virus, plan on being sick for a week. Don't burden your body with meds that may make you sick."

For Influenza "I caught influenza and was tested quickly due to the nature of my work (within 24 hours of symptoms) and was prescribed this poison. I got a ten packet of pills for the astounding price of $48. Compared to a 30 packet of paracetamol at $2, which did a hell of a lot more. I took the first tablet with food as instructed, and roughly an hour later, the pain started. It was excruciatingly bad, and I proceeded to spend the day dry heaving and vomiting between wiping my bleeding nose. I endured it because it said it could happen, and I figured it would wear off. I took the second tablet 12 hours later and was in the same position quickly. After the second tablet, I stopped taking them. I spent two days vomiting what little water I was trying to keep down from being dehydrated from the fever in terrible pain. I could sleep, I couldn't talk, nothing. I just laid there in pain. Tamiflu may reduce the symptoms..."

For Influenza "I was given Tamiflu by the hospital, and at first, it seemed to work. I didn't have such a bad runny nose or coughing. However, the side effects were just horrible. I had nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, headaches, and, as my friend describes it, I was 'just not with it.' I took it in pill form, and I think it was perhaps because of the plastic-feeling outer cover I was forced to swallow. I don't particularly recommend it, especially since it also gave me a little insomnia. That was a slight problem, having the flu and all, since sleeping is actually important if I want to heal."

For Influenza "Was too sick to get out of bed, so my paramedic daughter called 911. Fatigue was great, as was fever. Dr prescribed me Tamiflu. It gave me horrible diarrhea and painful vomiting. I begged my daughter to take me back to the ER. She said it is flu symptoms. Six days later, I still have diarrhea and no other symptoms. I know now that this is a side effect. I will miss my last 2 doses. It's too painful."

For Influenza "I'm unsure why this medication is prescribed. I wasn't warned about any of the side effects. I went to a clinic with moderate flu symptoms and was prescribed this and began taking it. After the third dose, I began vomiting uncontrollably and cannot keep anything down. I don't have an appetite, and I feel extremely nauseous, dizzy, and have a headache. I also have mental health conditions, which is why I find it very concerning that I was prescribed a medication that can cause suicide."

For Influenza "Once I started taking this medication, I felt nauseous an hour after the first dose. After completing the third dose the next day, I began vomiting until my stomach was completely empty. Taking the fourth dose, I became nauseous again and made the decision not to take it anymore. Worst feeling ever, I dreaded having to take each dose. Made me feel terrible, and the nausea was unbearable and ruined any appetite I had. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone!"

For Influenza "All I can say is thank God for anti-nausea meds! I took Tamiflu with a bit of food, as instructed, and within 20-30 mins was violently throwing up, which wasn’t at all part of my flu symptoms. Back to the doctor I went to get anti-nausea meds prescribed, and the moment I took them, I felt completely better. Ate more food and was able to easily take Tamiflu with no issues. I understand it’s a super strong drug, but if you really need it, I recommend requesting an anti-nausea medication to go along with it."

For Influenza "Do your research on this drug. I am thoroughly convinced that many of these high ratings are not real consumers of the product. I was prescribed Tamiflu to avoid further flu complications (I’m pregnant). Within an hour of taking one pill, I was vomiting every half hour. I got diarrhea and severe abdominal pain. It would have been safer to have not taken the drug. In fact, my stomach pain was so bad, I considered going to the ER. I’m taking the time to write this in hopes I can save at least one other person from my experience. There is no scientific evidence this drug is effective, and the original trials were never fully released by the creators of the drug (for a reason)."

For Influenza "I went from fine to congested to full-on fever/chills/vomiting/cough in 24 hours. Got tested at urgent care right away (Type A influenza), was prescribed Tamiflu and an anti-nausea med to take with it, and was dosed within a day of my first symptoms. By the next morning, after two doses, I felt human again. I'm on Day 3 now and the fever and chills are gone. Still have a little digestive upset, but the vomiting is long gone. I feel like I'm in the final stages of a head cold. It has been amazing. I understand the secret is to start taking it as soon as possible after symptoms start. Probably helps, too, that I had a flu shot. I would definitely use this again."

For Influenza "I'm a generally healthy 32-year-old female. I work in the ER of a busy hospital, so I'm no stranger to the flu: the body aches, the headaches, cough, congestion, fever, etc. Well, this time I unfortunately tried oseltamivir. This was the worst med I have tried. Horrible, horrible vomiting, horrible, horrible nausea, and the hallucinations! I have zero history of hallucinations, I was having full-on conversations with people who didn't exist. The side effects were so bad I ended up in the ER. Never have I ever experienced anything like this from any flu, cold, infection, or medication, and I had only taken 2 pills from the whole pack. Users beware. If it happened to me, it can happen to you too."
