MS Contin (morphine) for Chronic Pain "This medication was a lifesaver in the fact that it returned my quality of life back to me. I was on this medication for over 5 years at 30mg twice daily; never needed an increase in dosage. What I loved most about this medication was that it was a great pain reliever without the typical 'high' feeling of opiates. When insurance didn't cover the medication, I was able to find it at a hospital (nonprofit) pharmacy for around $30 per month. The only downside to this medication is coming off of it. I came off of it when I was pregnant and felt withdrawals for the longest I've ever felt withdrawals from an opiate. The next time I came off of it, I quit cold turkey, which reduced withdrawal time in half."

Kadian (morphine) for Pain "I've been on Kadian for 8 months (car accident 3 years ago, suffering from extensive postural and disc issues and recently diagnosed PTVS symptoms since). I'm 22 and started feeling able to live my life again after taking Kadian (10 mg 2 x day), and it seemed to make my mood better. It no longer works at the current dose, and the doctor won't move up a dose and doesn't believe in short-acting medicines. The first 6 months, it really did wonders and gave me a lot of my life back. Constipation is brutal with this medicine - I take Miralax daily with some relief. Withdrawals are horrific."

For Chronic Pain "Machine guns are heavy, and so is everything else in life. But my broken body hurts from the moment I wake up till sleep. Like one guy said, no doc in KY will help you, so I have to self-medicate. I have taken just about everything known for pain, I have been through it all. All of these new drugs, Roxy's 10-20-30 mg's, are meant to get you hooked, hooked and still in pain. But I never have pain or withdrawals when I take these 15 mg extended release. If you have a tolerance, you'll need at least 30-45 mg's in one dose. Honestly, these are without a doubt the best for pain I've taken thus far. No buzz and no pain."

MS Contin (morphine) for Chronic Pain "I have been in chronic pain for many years. I have C1, C2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 9 of the spine, bone spurs, sister after on my spine, spinal stenosis, scoliosis. L5 is degenerative, degenerative disc disease, degenerative joint disease, multiple sclerosis. My hip is cracked on both sides. I have six kinds of cysts on my head, there is no gap on my head. Every bone is cracked, Debbie is cracked. Both knees are bad, nerve damage in my hands and on my legs. I have been on methadone 60 milligrams for about 5 years and oxycodone 15 milligrams 4 times a day for breakthrough pain. That worked great, but they switched me to morphine sulfate ER 60 milligrams today. I'm not going through withdrawals, but it still does not help my pain. Has anybody after switching from methadone to morphine sulfate?"

Avinza (morphine) for Pain "I have a fused 5th lumbar with a bone insert and two shoulder replacements that cause constant pain. Avinza has proven to be far superior to other drugs for constant pain relief. Hydrocodone and Oxycodone preparations used to wear off after 4 hours with terrible withdrawal symptoms and cause mood changes. Avinza, although ghastly expensive, provides pain management without feeling drugged at all. I am able to play tennis and stay active because of this drug, and it's taken once a day instead of every 4 hours. A lifesaver."

Morphine Sulfate ER (morphine) for Pain "I have had excruciating pain for 4 years. I used from fentanyl patch to morphine sulfate CR. The change is dramatic, no third-day withdrawals. Have 24-hour coverage, not for 48 hours. Living in the South, the auto's temp rises to 140 in the car, and the patch is not meant for dramatic temperature changes."

Morphine Sulfate IR (morphine) for Chronic Pain "Morphine ... great if you want to help with the pain and function. Doc have had me on every pain med there is. I was so doped up I didn't know what I was doing. I would drive, eat, talk to ppl and not remember. Oxy was like heroin (I guess, never did the real stuff). Fentanyl patches were the worst. Felt good the 1st day, the 2nd day you felt like crap, 3rd day you were sick going through a withdrawal. Had me on Neurontin and Soma, and Ambien... Finally, after 15 years I feel normal as I can, with this pain."
