For Constipation "I am 120 lbs and did not feel confident about taking the full bottle of magnesium citrate. I drank 6 oz with 3 8 oz glasses of water at 6 PM, no food for 4 hours before that. I experienced rumbling in the abdomen and flatulence. Had 2 bowel movements following. Nothing extreme but it was helpful. It's 10 PM now, still experiencing some flatulence but the abdomen feels better. I plan on taking the rest of the magnesium citrate tomorrow morning, a few hours after breakfast and coffee. I recommend the magnesium citrate. I have been drinking a lot of water these past couple of weeks, which may have helped with smoother bowel movements and no burning sensation. The cherry flavor was not tasty but bearable. I felt nauseous for about half an hour, lying down on the bed with legs raised and deep breathing helped. The nausea passed and has not returned. My advice is to not drink the entire bottle in one sitting, drink plenty of water and Gatorade alternately, eat a few hours beforehand, and plan on not eating for at least 6 hours after. Remember to breathe deeply, relax as much as possible, have your phone and a book on hand, and hopefully, you will find comfort and relief. Happy 2021!"

For Constipation "Took a bottle of this a couple days prior to my colonoscopy last year. I had pizza and cheeseburgers several hours before, and this is probably one of my worst experiences. Within 2 hours, my posterior felt like a demon was summoned and was spewing forth hot lava. Additionally, I was farting loud enough to probably summon a few more demons and frequently enough to power the city of Paris for a year, with each fart issued forth more fire and brimstone from the deepest depths of Hades. I recommend this stuff, though only as a last resort for severe constipation. In any case, your toilet doesn’t stand a chance."

Magnesium citrate for Constipation "I highly recommend this product. I have been constipated for several weeks now, and my doctor recommended 2 days before colonoscopy (in addition to prescription prep). I chose grape-flavored CVS brand. I refrigerated it the night before and took it at 6:45 pm the next evening. It is very sour but carbonated, so it was doable. A family member suggested that I eat at the same time to cut down on nausea, which really helped. At first, I felt like my stomach was going to explode because I drank the 10 oz bottle followed by 16 oz of water. Then there was a lot of stomach bubbling. I finally was comfortable enough to lie down and eventually fell asleep, to be then awakened by this urge to pass gas at 12:40 am. Don't do it!!! Find a toilet fast! It works!"

For Constipation "I had been struggling to poop for about a week. Straining on the toilet and only a pebble would come out. My stomach was so bloated, and big people asked me if I was pregnant. I was so embarrassed, so I asked my husband's sister, who is a nurse practitioner, what she recommended. She suggested magnesium citrate lemon flavor CVS brand. It tasted really good. I gulped the entire 10 oz. bottle and waited for the party to begin. I took it around 3:30 pm and laid down because I was feeling gassy. Around 6:30 pm, I woke up to a bubbly stomach. I thought I had to pass gas, but I ran to the toilet because I didn't know what to expect. OMG, it was like a 4th of July finale! A huge splash of liquid-like poop came out. I am waiting for more to happen."

For Constipation "Ok, so I took magnesium citrate because I read all the great reviews of it cleaning people out. Well, I drank mine around 11 AM, and it is now 10 PM, almost 12 hours later, and still nothing. Am I the only person this has happened to? I feel some stuff working in my stomach and have had some smelly gas, but that’s the extent of it. Some people say it took till the next day. Well, I hope it ends up working, I had really high hopes for it. I poop like every other day, sometimes every day, but just don’t feel like I’m getting it all out, and yes, I’ve been drinking tons of water today."

For Constipation "I recently had a colonoscopy procedure, and afterwards, I didn't have a bowel movement for four days. I tried taking Miralax, glycerin suppositories, and drinking 100 oz of water a day, but nothing worked! I went to the doctor and was told that my colon was now moving 'sluggishly' and to get some magnesium citrate. I took it yesterday morning at 8 AM with a huge glass of water, followed by Gatorade, and by 12:30 PM I was on the toilet going like a champ! I even cheered because I was that happy! But even extreme happiness has a downside! At 9:30 PM last night, I was still going to the bathroom! Needless to say, with my very sore bottom, I was no longer in a cheering mood. And today I am EXTREMELY gassy and bloated! But not constipated!"

For Constipation "Was constipated for 5 days after taking prescribed narcotics for bruised ribs. Doctor recommended it. Didn't taste half bad and drank a glass of water after. Didn't feel anything for about 5 hours, then my stomach felt gassy and then boom. So much relief, and I didn't have to push too hard (since my ribs are bruised)."

For Constipation "Traveled to the Dominican and got traveler's diarrhea. Took too much Imodium and ended up being severely constipated for two weeks. My stomach was so huge we called it my 'Dominican Baby.' I tried three different laxatives-nothing. I then heard about Mag-Citrate. Drank a whole bottle of the cherry (not bad-super sweet like candy) and waited. The bottle said 30 minutes to 6 hours for action. I waited 3 hours, then fell asleep and woke up. I was so disappointed. It had been over 12 hours and nothing but gas. This was when I decided to go to the hospital. A few hours waiting there and all of a sudden...relief after drinking a coffee! If it doesn't work right away, give it time, it will! I also recommend coffee to help it along :)"

For Constipation "I was given magnesium citrate a few months ago from the hospital due to chronic constipation, and I never drank it. I ended up having a bowel movement on my own. Well, today I woke up at about 2 a.m. My stomach and back were killing me due to not being able to poo for 2 1/2 weeks. I remembered I had it in the fridge, drank it at about 3 a.m. (lemon is absolutely disgusting, by the way), followed by a large cup of water, and by 5 a.m., here comes the boom. I fell back asleep on the couch and instantly woke up sprinting to my bathroom, and out comes pure liquid. I don't have cramps, I'm not in pain, just very, very gassy. All in all, this stuff really worked for me. You can buy it on the shelf at Rite Aid for $1 and some change."

For Constipation "I've always battled constipation. This time I had gone the longest without a bowel motion. Almost three weeks, my husband's cousin recommended I get the grape-flavored magnesium citrate from the Dollar General. I was desperate, I looked six months pregnant and couldn't eat anything, I was so bloated and uncomfortable. I got it, drank the whole ten ounces and a bottle of water, which made me feel very sick at first. After about thirty minutes, I started feeling gassy, but just in case it was more, I ran to the toilet! Very glad I did. I recommend this for anyone who doesn't have time to sit at home waiting on a laxative to work. It's very quick and effective. I also suggest drinking lots of water."

For Constipation "Today I went to the doctor due to some moderate/severe lower abdominal pain that wasn't going away after 2 days. It even woke me up in waves of shooting pain. An X-ray showed that constipation was, in fact, the root of my problem, so the doctor told me to go to the pharmacy and pick up a couple of bottles of this stuff. I was already nauseous due to the constipation, so I only had about 3/4 of one bottle and drank about 16 oz or so of water. At first, not much happened, just occasional gas and nausea. About 4-5 hours later is when it really kicked in. And, it works very well. The nausea is going away too, I'm starting to get my appetite back, and I'm less bloated. Warning: when the tummy rumbles start, RUN do not walk to the nearest toilet."

For Constipation "I have to say I didn't believe when I heard this worked immediately..... I am usually very regular, but after 6 days of constipation, I was in hell. Being bloated and gassy is not the most pleasant feeling. So after 3 days of looking at the bottle, I was still afraid it would taste like cough medicine, but I was desperate, so I just drank it.... no bad! Tastes like soda.... So I drank half of the 10 oz bottle and then a bottle of water. After 1 hour, I felt nothing but nausea since I drank it on an empty stomach at 9 am.... 30 mins after, I drank another 1/4... 1 hr later, I thought maybe hot coffee will help.... I didn't even finish my coffee when I felt ready... so 1 hr and 30 mins for me! No cramps or anything.... better than pills! This stuff is magic."

For Constipation "I recently changed my diet and have been eating more protein, which has seriously backed me up. I hadn't pooped for 4 days and felt nauseous after eating and bloated and gassy. My stomach was rock hard, with no relief from senna, essential lemon oil, digestive enzymes, probiotics, colon cleanse, and Smooth Move tea. A friend recommended mag citrate. I had never heard of it before. Went to the store and bought it for 1.99. Sour lemon taste. I drank half a bottle and nothing. Drank the other half and 16 ounces of water (maybe more), and the magic started happening. I'm still sitting on the toilet with my pants around my ankles, hoping for some more movement. This stuff works. Be patient. It took me 1.5-2 hours for the first movement."

For Constipation "I have some pain issues and a slow colon anyway, so every time I have to take opiates, I get severely backed up. Sometimes I get through it OK on my own, but most times I need help. I'm a regular user, every 6 months or so, and just have to add there will be discomfort because the gas will finally be able to move, and that hurts. But there is no cramping. It doesn't MAKE you go, it liquefies everything, so it's effortless to go. Be near a toilet and give yourself a day."

For Constipation "I have a history with hard stools. Every once in a while, I won’t have a bowel movement for a couple of days, and once I do, it’s very hard to pass. I stumbled across this product, and about 30-45 minutes after drinking half the bottle, I felt the rumble of the volcano in my stomach. You’ll know you’re ready to go on the pot when you have to hold in your bowel movement because it feels like you’re going poop water. It’s a relief, let me tell you. After your poop, you’re likely to have the farts for a few hours, and they will most definitely stink. But the product works every time."

For Constipation "Last poop: 3+ weeks ago. Starting weight: 155 lbs. 6:05 PM drank entire bottle, cherry flavor, followed by lots of water. 6:09 PM burp. 6:30 PM one poop. Long and soft. Lots of farting into the evening. 8:08 AM (14 hours later) straining trying to poop. 2 tiny soft poops released. Drank coffee. 8:35 AM first watery poop... and we are off."

For Constipation "I have had chronic constipation for many years. I'm only able to 'go' every 4 days if I do an enema. This time the enema didn't work, so I drank a half bottle of citrate. All I got was a lot of gas. It's been about 5 hrs since I drank it. Nothing yet. My stomach is still gurgling, though. Not sure if I would recommend it."

For Constipation "Having opiate-induced constipation and on methadone, bowel movements are a commodity and a gift. On my fourth day of no pooping, I began to panic and read about MC. Went to the pharmacy, picked up the lemon-lime flavor brand of Citrodan. I actually drank half the bottle on the way home, and within 45 minutes, I was on the toilet excreting the most foul-smelling bowel movement I have ever had. The next few hours were a bit uncomfortable: gas, gurgling, running to the toilet, and some cramping. This stuff does what it is supposed to do with fervor and dedication. Be prepared and stay in. It's best to do it in the morning so you have all day to expel. Drink lots of water throughout the day and wash. It does smell bad coming out."

For Constipation "I was plugged up really bad for almost a week, and 3 days I was taking Ex-Lax, Dulcolax, and Miralax, and I couldn't get anything out. So I tried the cherry flavor, pretty good actually. Well, I chugged it at 7, stayed up till 1, had a little farting, so I said, hey, I'll go to bed and see what happens in the morning. Sure enough, I woke up at 8, and here she came, lol. And yes, it still hurt, but I was so glad when I was finally able to pass the plug. Now it's 8 PM, and I'm on my 6th BM. It's a great product, will use it next time those dumb pain pills get to me!"

For Constipation "I'm 5 days post-surgery, and pain from gas and constipation was unbearable. After trying several other remedies without results, I finally purchased and drank a 300ml bottle of lemon-flavored MC. Just 4 hours later, I finally have relief! The pressure in my abdomen has subsided, and I no longer feel like my stitches are going to rip open."

For Constipation "I have been constipated for over a few months. I have tried a number of different things for it. I took the magnesium citrate at 1:30 PM yesterday. I felt very gassy and bloated. By 6 PM, I was going to the bathroom. I woke up the next morning feeling worse than I did before I drank it. I have diarrhea cramps and am not getting hardly anything out when I have to go. Overall, I will not drink this again. I feel terrible :("

For Constipation "Haven't had a good bowel motion for a month. GI Dr. instructed Ducolax suppository, then a bottle of Mg citrate. Then a 2nd bottle of Mg citrate 2-3 hours later. I had some small, soft-formed stool after the Ducolax and lots of gas, and waterfalls of just cloudy liquid after 2 hours of the first Mg citrate. After the 2nd bottle, I'm still pooping cloudy/almost clear liquid 12 hours after the 2nd bottle. I don't feel like the 1 month of poop is out. There were no solid pieces coming out with the Mg citrate."

For Constipation "After an alcohol binge that messed up my digestion for days, I tried 4 tbsp of milk of magnesium. It worked a bit, but after a day I still felt backed up. So I took a 10 oz bottle of magnesium citrate at 8:30 PM. I downed it in about 15 mins. I immediately got nauseous, which lasted for about 2 hours. But I kept it down. In my 3rd hour, it hit me good, I was in the bathroom about 8-10 times between 11 PM-2 AM. I was able to feel better, so I fell asleep. I woke up twice at 6 AM & 7 AM to another heavy explosion. When I got up at 10 AM, I felt icky, not sick, but my insides were crawling. That lasted for a few hours, but subsided. Now it's 7 PM and still making me go a bit, causing stomach grumbling and gas. Overall, if you want guaranteed effectiveness, try this!"

For Constipation "I have used this successfully on 3 separate occasions after getting constipated when taking pain medication. Just make sure to drink plenty of fluids before and after. This last time, I was poopless for 4 days. I drank half a bottle of berry-flavored MC 3 hours ago, and voila! No more constipation. I didn't have any cramping and was only mildly gassy. You'll know when it's coming, you'll feel the heat approaching your butt, and before you know it, you have been cleared. Good luck!"

For Constipation "Maybe I’m just broken, but magnesium citrate hasn’t worked for me. I’ve been hospitalized for severe constipation. I had some MiraLax with lunch & chugged a 10oz bottle of Magnesium Citrate 1.5hrs after dinner. I thought this was a good combo for someone with my level of constipation experience. 1st mistake: taking it at night. I was already bloated but WOW. The gas & bloating was at a whole new level. I couldn’t even move without feeling like I’d pop. I was the blueberry girl in Willy Wonka. At 1 am, I fell asleep. At 10 the next morning, I was finally able to leave bed. I had a steady stream of butt pee and then, that all-too-familiar feeling of constipation. I was able to fart out a few soft pellets the rest of the day, but that’s it. I’m still severely bloated with sharp cramps. It’s been 26 hours since I chugged MC and I’m left constipated with a burning cinnamon ring, a balloon belly and gas to power New York City. I’m a lean, active 24yr old (mostly vegan.) Why can’t I go?"
