For Constipation "I hadn’t pooped in about a week. I wasn’t uncomfortable but I knew I was full of poop. I have taken this before and when I was in this situation, so I decided to do it again. I am 105 lbs and drank the whole bottle. (Last time I drank half) Big mistake. HUGE mistake. I took it at 5 pm and didn’t start to go until almost midnight. I was running back and forth to brown town until 2:30 am. Thought my body evicted every evil piece of poop from my colon. I was wrong. I woke up at 6 am and my butthole was puckering while my stomach was yelling. I ran to the toilet, once again and eliminated what I hope was the baby food I ate when I was 8 months old. Thought that was over. WRONG. I kept going!! How in the world is there anything left in me? I’ve gone 3 more times since I started this review. I mean, it works but I’m afraid to leave the house. Last time I took half, I'd like to know why I drank the whole bottle. My butt hurts and I’m pooping again."

For Constipation "Took a whole bottle of the lemon flavor along with Miralax and Benefiber at about 8 pm. I had my first movement at 12 am. Pretty sure I birthed whatever was blocking me followed by the watery squirts. I made the mistake of thinking this was the end of it. It is now 5 am, and I am having watery episodes back to back. The cramps are far worse than any period cramps, and my ring of fire is, in fact, on fire. Vaseline and baby wipes will be your best friend, and if you have cramps, the heating pad helps. I also personally got very bloated and kind of felt sick. This stuff is potent, it will definitely clean you out and do its job!! (Disclaimer: DO NOT TRUST A FART ON THIS!!)"

For Constipation "Maybe I’m just broken, but magnesium citrate hasn’t worked for me. I’ve been hospitalized for severe constipation. I had some MiraLax with lunch & chugged a 10oz bottle of Magnesium Citrate 1.5hrs after dinner. I thought this was a good combo for someone with my level of constipation experience. 1st mistake: taking it at night. I was already bloated but WOW. The gas & bloating was at a whole new level. I couldn’t even move without feeling like I’d pop. I was the blueberry girl in Willy Wonka. At 1 am, I fell asleep. At 10 the next morning, I was finally able to leave bed. I had a steady stream of butt pee and then, that all-too-familiar feeling of constipation. I was able to fart out a few soft pellets the rest of the day, but that’s it. I’m still severely bloated with sharp cramps. It’s been 26 hours since I chugged MC and I’m left constipated with a burning cinnamon ring, a balloon belly and gas to power New York City. I’m a lean, active 24yr old (mostly vegan.) Why can’t I go?"

For Constipation "If you have had any form of gastric bypass surgery and suffer from constipation, here is my advice: Since my RNY in 2005, I have suffered from constipation. In a week's span, I will have one bowel movement, large, hard pebbles that I have to manually extract most of the time. So, every Thursday morning around 8:00 a.m. I begin drinking one bottle of Cherry or Grape flavored MC (I do not like the lemon flavored, it burns my pouch). What I do is mix 1/2 bottle with 32 ounces of lukewarm water and drink it within an hour. I will then mix the other 1/2 bottle with another 32 ounces of lukewarm water and finish it within an hour. It works like a charm for me within 2-4 hours! Yes, the poo is liquidy, but I don't have cramps and the relief is out of this world. I will get that 'uh oh' feeling and know I need to go to the toilet ASAP. Thankfully I work from home, and my bathroom is right next to my office. Word of advice - do not fart, it's a trick! Learn from my experience :)"

For Constipation "Went to an urgent care with severe back pain, bloating, the works, that the normal stool softeners/laxatives weren’t helping. After some X-rays I was told to buy 2 bottles of this magnesium citrate. I only drank one and not TWO at about 8 pm. The doctor said to take it at bedtime. DON’T TAKE IT AT BEDTIME! From 9-2:30 pm I had cramps that could only be compared to childbirth, then came the fun stuff at 2:30 AM. Currently I am sitting stupidly at 4:30 AM reading the comments that I barely glanced over before jumping into this, now I'm praying for this to be over. It works but never again will I willingly take this. I swear I can still taste it when it’s clearly made its way through my system."

For Constipation "So I am typing this from the toilet LOL. I’ve been severely constipated for a full week. I’m talking about severe abdominal cramping, extreme bloating and couldn’t eat anything without getting nauseous! So I drank about 3/4 of the magnesium citrate bottle around 9 PM. I woke up at 7 AM and I can’t figure out if I’m peeing or pooping, it is all like water!! Haha, but I will say I feel 10 times better so I highly recommend this if you are having constipation! The cherry is the best flavor FYI."

For Constipation "I have IBS really bad. I get constipated every 3-4 days. I had ultrasounds, CT scans, laparoscopic surgery, and much, much more done to figure it out. They said I had the biggest blockage they’ve ever seen and gave me a bottle of MC. I’ve only ever tried the lemon, I’m a wimp and have to take a nausea med with it because my body rejects it without the med. (Not like this for everyone.) It is uncomfortable at first when having to chug it because it cramps and makes me super nauseated. But besides that, within 4-8 hours, I’m wishing for some butt ointment because, man, am I on fire. I highly recommend just doing the whole bottle if really backed up. Only taking a small portion doesn’t really work for me. Hope this helped."

For Constipation "I hadn't had a bowel movement in 10 days. I was plugged up with a large, dry, and hard stool that wouldn't budge no matter how hard I pushed. 8 days in, I tried a glycerine suppository to try to soften it up so I could go. That didn't work, so for the rest of the day, I took 3 doses of Miralax and another dose the next day plus another suppository. Didn't do a thing. I found an unopened bottle of magnesium citrate in the cabinet. I had never tried it before for constipation, but I was out of options. I drank half a bottle at 10 pm. At 7:30 am the next morning, everything was literally flowing out of me. This cleaned me out without causing any cramping or discomfort. Magnesium citrate is the only thing I'll ever use for constipation from now on."

For Constipation "This past week has been horrible. Monday through to Wednesday I was recovering from food poisoning, and Tuesday to Saturday I was extremely constipated. I spent early Saturday morning from 2:30 am to 5:00 am tossing and turning in pain. I realized it had almost been a week since I had a bowel movement. I got up, googled some home remedies (olive oil, baking soda, prunes, etc.), so I tried olive oil. Nasty. Baking soda? Heck no. Prunes? It's 3 am. No. So finally I came across magnesium citrate. I got dressed, drove to my local CVS, and chose the grape flavor. Got home, forced down the bottle, drank some water, and 2 hours later, nothing. Waited another 1.5 hours and BAMMM. Like a water hose. So relieved. Cramps and feeling sick, so worth it. At last, feel 100 times better."

For Constipation "No poop for 4 days, and I was stressed (when I did, it was a tiny pebble). No pain, but I felt uncomfortable. Started taking Miralax at the end of day 2. Nothing. Next, coffee (gives me the runs), ginger tea, and then milk since I'm kind of lactose intolerant. Still nothing. A friend recommended magnesium citrate (MC). First up, this did not work right away. It gave me the worst cramps of my life after 1.5 hours. Felt like what I imagine labor contractions to be. I was screaming and even cried. Happened every 2/3 minutes. Awful. But no poop. Forced BM, but was only able to manually pull some out, then started feeling hemorrhoids, so I stopped. Went to sleep, but the pain was so bad. 12 hours later, I had my first poop. It was solid but soft, which was surprising since I was sure I was impacted. Didn't feel full relief, but I was done, so I got off. 15 minutes later, I was back for mostly liquid. 15 minutes later, back for just liquid. So far, no fire feeling. Summary: It took much longer to work, and I had intense stomach pain while waiting."

For Constipation "Awesome. I wish I had known about this little glass bottle years ago. I had always known that it was ingested before a colonoscopy, but I assumed there was a special reason. I know now! I am a very regular person. Very. Lack of fiber, a new hormonal contraceptive, and tons of caffeine caused a stop-up. I was ready to punch someone in the face. Drank a bottle at 6:30 pm. Got a little worried because I was told it was almost instantaneous. I got disappointed and just decided to sleep. Woke up at 5 am and BAAAAAMMM! I feel so much better. And not only does it taste really tart (cherry)... but it was only a buck, and it didn't cramp like an oral laxative pill."

For Constipation "I took this at about 10 a.m. with a bunch of water and other liquids to mix it up, but it didn't really start working 'til about 1 p.m. At first, it seems a chunk of the stool comes out, and I expected only a little bit of diarrhea afterward. Boy, was I wrong. Seven hours later, and I've still had the urge. I'm now pretty exhausted after constantly drinking water and going to the bathroom. My intestines are really cramping up on me, so I have major pain there. I wouldn't mind the water fountain my butt has become if it weren't for how sore and cramped I feel afterward. I'm going to risk going to sleep now because I'm tired, but I can't help but hear all the noises my stomach is making (it's kind of scaring me). At least I've become less constipated, though."

For Constipation "Started a new medication about a month ago, and it has caused constipation as a side effect. For 8 days in a row, I was unable to go #2, and I was starting to feel pretty awful. Found magnesium citrate on Amazon with really high reviews. Was nervous to use it because people said it could be really harsh on the tummy. I drank 1/2 bottle (cherry flavor) and was cramping in my abdomen 22 minutes later (I didn't realize it needed to be taken on an empty stomach, oops). 8 minutes or so later, the cramps lifted a little, and I had my first BM. It wasn't easy, just loose. Super glad I didn't drink the entire thing because it worked right away for me. Phew. Will use again in case of emergency."

For Constipation "I used this for constipation. I drank an entire 10 oz. bottle around 4 p.m., then had several glasses of water. I had very mild cramping and lots of stomach sounds all evening/night. No BM until the following morning around 9 a.m. Diarrhea, but no cramps. Had 1 more episode of diarrhea, but not a lot. Still feel a little constipated and quite bloated, though. I am a 125 lb. female, so I thought, especially after reading other reviews, that I would have a very strong reaction from this stuff. It worked OK, but nothing crazy for me."

For Constipation "After having wisdom teeth removed, I have only been eating jello for the past five days. Felt as if I had to go #2 yesterday, but it would not come out. Thought I was simply constipated, so I went out and bought laxatives, and I took two right before going to sleep. This morning, I woke up with stomach pains worse than yesterday. Tried to go to the bathroom, and laxatives did not work: it would not come out. I was in tears from pain and begged my father to grab something to MAKE me go while he was out grocery shopping. He came home, said 'Take this,' and so I did. After only 45 minutes, I went. You will cramp up badly and feel rumbly-it WILL hurt-but as everyone else said, the relief is worth it-Drink plenty of water too! 10/10 for M. Citrate!"

For Constipation "For the last couple of weeks, I felt like I wasn't going to the bathroom often enough, so I went to the store and got some magnesium citrate. I got off from work at 10 a.m. I drank the whole bottle, then drank a bottle of water. After doing it like that, it made me feel very, very full, and my stomach was tight. Then, I started getting nauseated. After that, I went and laid down. 30 minutes later, I started feeling my lower belly cramping up, and I started farting. Then, two hours after that, I had a bowel movement. It was hard, then a few minutes later, it started being loose. I have a towel under me because I don't want to poop everywhere. But I can say I don't know what was inside my body, but it sure does stink. I can say I have pooped at least 2 lbs of unwanted waste."

For Constipation "First of all, I would like to say. The taste is SOUR! It is like drinking sour patch kids that are liquefied. Pucker up, baby, and drink! I think that was the worst part. I read reviews that said to refrigerate it overnight. I did. Honestly, I think the coldness made it harder to drink. I let it sit out for a while and drank the other half at room temperature, and it was so much easier. It made me cramp up a lot to start off with and somewhat nauseous. I went to my doctor yesterday, blocked up for a week. Every week only going once a week but in pain, so he told me to try this out, as well as a blood test and x-ray. It made me really feel more pressure to go, but first, when I started to push, time went by and made great bowel movements."

For Constipation "Always been quite constipated. Went to the ER twice last week with no relief. Went again last night and was given a Pink Lady enema. Was only able to hold it in 10 out of the 15 minutes. Basically just peed out my butt all the stuff they put in me. Severe cramping. Tummy super hard and distended. After a half hour, got like 3 rabbit pellets. Got sent home with instructions to drink half a bottle of magnesium citrate. Drank half a bottle the next morning on an empty tummy. Took 20 minutes to kick in. Pure liquid out my butt now every 10 minutes for the past 4 hours. Just when I think it’s done, surprise waterfalls all over again. Should have also bought baby wipes and more lotion at the store. My butt burns. I wince every time I go now. Threw up violently because of the cramping. Came out both ends. Drank boatloads of water with it. Still very dehydrated, can barely stand or hold my head up. Beware. Feels so good but hurts so bad too."

For Constipation "My pain doctor just switched my pain meds around, and I started having bad stomach pains, worse than labor with my four kids. So I set off to go get fleets because I have used them before and know they work. They are just uncomfortable putting them in, but I went to Dollar General, and the girl that works there told me about the magnesium citrate grape flavor. She said she used it after her hysterectomy. I took half the bottle when I was almost back to the house. After 25 minutes, it worked a little. I took the rest of the bottle (don't do this, wait for the stuff to finish working). Well, all I got to say: no cramps and my stomach is empty. God bless this product, and I will keep it on my shelf for life."

For Constipation "Works like a charm, but keep the tissue handy... no pun intended! I was having severe abdominal cramping & almost went to the ER. The pain would subside, then go away, but on Day 10 I couldn't take it anymore even though I was still having BMs. The doc ordered this, along with a powder & some meds to help with the muscle spasms (sharp, shooting pain from mid-gut to my ass). I took them at 3:15 on the dot (all 3 at the same time) & by 3:30-3:35 I had my first poop. It doesn't give you immediate release, but after your 3rd or 4th poop, the pressure subsides. You may want to take a sick day after you take this stuff, LOTS of water to prevent dehydration, Netflix subscription, & plenty of TP. Happy pooping, y'all!!!"

For Constipation "After 9 days and 3 enemas, 2 glycerin suppositories, endless amounts of water, Smooth Move, copious amounts of stool softeners, and rancid apple cider vinegar, I finally made the jump and drank half the bottle of cherry. 12 hrs 41 mins later, I am in heaven! I couldn't be more thankful for this miracle worker. Overall, the cramping was bearable. If there is a next time, I will not wait, I'll go straight for the cherry!"

For Constipation "Thank the Lord for this stuff! I had an operation that left me severely constipated for a week and was ready to do anything to get relief. I felt very nauseous immediately after drinking, but that got better within an hour or two. There was some mild cramping, but nothing as bad as a few days without a BM! I would highly recommend this, just be sure you clear the rest of your day, as it really cleans you out! The directions said to drink half to the full bottle, and I ended up drinking all 10 oz. Worked great, didn't find it to be 'too much' or anything, and I'm a pretty small person."

For Constipation "First, I have IBS/IBSD. So a bowel motion (BM) every day is normal for me and anticipated. I haven't had my normal BM for 3 or 4 days. Bloated, distended stomach, and yesterday, cramps. Something had to be done as I was miserable. Magnesium sulfate did nothing to help the problem. A coworker got me a gift of MC. Told me if that doesn't make me poop, then I need to go to the ER. I drank half at 7:30 PM. The cherry is insanely sweet and tart...disgusting. No relief by 8 PM, but lots of rumbling in my stomach while a little scared to leave the toilet. So I downed the other half, drank some water, and went to bed by 8:30 PM. At 3:20 AM, my dog insists on me getting up. Did I mess myself? No, he's just being a crying land seal (pittie) and won't stop until I get up. My stomach felt a little bubbly, so I went to use the bathroom. It's now 4 AM, and I haven't stopped peeing out of my butt (not out of the norm for my IBS/IBSD). It's definitely working, and I'm glad my coworker got me this!"

For Constipation "Though the taste is horrid and it does supply some side effects (stomach gurgling, mild cramping), this stuff WORKS. Though the bottle says half an hour to 6 hours, give it a full 24 hours before you discredit it, for me, it took around 10 hours. It may not feel like it's going to work, but the urge will come fairly abruptly. You'll need a day off of work, a lot of toilet paper, water, and your phone or some reading material at the ready!"

For Constipation "So this is my first time using magnesium citrate for constipation. I drank a 10 oz. bottle of the lemon flavor, and literally about 45 minutes later, I was on the toilet, and I’m still here. It’s uncomfortable because of the cramping and the initial nausea from chugging the bottle. But once you get past that, it’s worth it."
