For Constipation "Maybe I’m just broken, but magnesium citrate hasn’t worked for me. I’ve been hospitalized for severe constipation. I had some MiraLax with lunch & chugged a 10oz bottle of Magnesium Citrate 1.5hrs after dinner. I thought this was a good combo for someone with my level of constipation experience. 1st mistake: taking it at night. I was already bloated but WOW. The gas & bloating was at a whole new level. I couldn’t even move without feeling like I’d pop. I was the blueberry girl in Willy Wonka. At 1 am, I fell asleep. At 10 the next morning, I was finally able to leave bed. I had a steady stream of butt pee and then, that all-too-familiar feeling of constipation. I was able to fart out a few soft pellets the rest of the day, but that’s it. I’m still severely bloated with sharp cramps. It’s been 26 hours since I chugged MC and I’m left constipated with a burning cinnamon ring, a balloon belly and gas to power New York City. I’m a lean, active 24yr old (mostly vegan.) Why can’t I go?"

For Constipation "Took a whole bottle of the lemon flavor along with Miralax and Benefiber at about 8 pm. I had my first movement at 12 am. Pretty sure I birthed whatever was blocking me followed by the watery squirts. I made the mistake of thinking this was the end of it. It is now 5 am, and I am having watery episodes back to back. The cramps are far worse than any period cramps, and my ring of fire is, in fact, on fire. Vaseline and baby wipes will be your best friend, and if you have cramps, the heating pad helps. I also personally got very bloated and kind of felt sick. This stuff is potent, it will definitely clean you out and do its job!! (Disclaimer: DO NOT TRUST A FART ON THIS!!)"

For Constipation "10/10 will clear you out. After chugging the entire bottle and downing half a gallon of water, I bloated real bad and felt nauseous. And then two hours later I was peeing from my ass. No, really, I couldn’t leave the toilet. When drinking this, be sure to have some soothing wet wipes and butt cream. You're gonna need it."

For Constipation "So I am typing this from the toilet LOL. I’ve been severely constipated for a full week. I’m talking about severe abdominal cramping, extreme bloating and couldn’t eat anything without getting nauseous! So I drank about 3/4 of the magnesium citrate bottle around 9 PM. I woke up at 7 AM and I can’t figure out if I’m peeing or pooping, it is all like water!! Haha, but I will say I feel 10 times better so I highly recommend this if you are having constipation! The cherry is the best flavor FYI."

For Constipation "Last night, I went to the hospital for severe stomach pains, bloating, nausea, and lack of appetite. The ER doctor gave me a 10 oz magnesium citrate (MC) bottle, and I waited until 2 p.m. today to take the whole thing. HOLY COW... I have been living on the toilet since 4 p.m., and it’s now 8 p.m. The pain is completely gone in my stomach! Make sure to have your phone charged so you can catch up on your favorite show - you might be in the bathroom for a while!"

For Constipation "I recently had a colonoscopy procedure, and afterwards, I didn't have a bowel movement for four days. I tried taking Miralax, glycerin suppositories, and drinking 100 oz of water a day, but nothing worked! I went to the doctor and was told that my colon was now moving 'sluggishly' and to get some magnesium citrate. I took it yesterday morning at 8 AM with a huge glass of water, followed by Gatorade, and by 12:30 PM I was on the toilet going like a champ! I even cheered because I was that happy! But even extreme happiness has a downside! At 9:30 PM last night, I was still going to the bathroom! Needless to say, with my very sore bottom, I was no longer in a cheering mood. And today I am EXTREMELY gassy and bloated! But not constipated!"

For Constipation "I had surgery, and from the anesthesia and pain medicine, I became very constipated. I literally had no bowel movement whatsoever for 5 days. I started having some stomach pains, I am assuming from gas or just being constipated. I told my doctor what was going on and asked what I could take, and he recommended Magnesium Citrate. I bought a bottle and drank the full 10 oz. About 30 minutes after drinking this, it hit me... I was able to go, and all of the pain and bloating was gone. I was completely relieved. Unfortunately, this story does not end here. Every 15 to 30 minutes for the next 6 hours, I was back in the bathroom, and it was nothing but water... uncontrollable diarrhea. I was literally at a point where I was praying that it would stop."

For Constipation "If you get desperate enough to use this product, it’s worth it. You’re already having a bad time. Bloating, uncomfortable, abdominal pain, but you haven’t seen anything until you chug a bottle of this stuff. I took the full bottle, and 4 hours later, I was scared it wasn’t working. Then I drank warm water instead of the regular 10-minute interval glasses of iced water. Maybe it was all the water gathering in my belly to gang up on the poo... maybe it was the temperature. I’m currently 15 hours into this adventure, and my intestines are angry. Wet wipes and diaper rash ointment recommended, as well as chapstick because it will dehydrate your lips even when throwing fluids down with it. But it works. Believe it or not, I’m less miserable."

For Constipation "I have to take this for an upcoming surgery. The nurse told me to take it 18 hours before my surgery because 'it can take some time to work.' So, I thought hmmmm, I'm feeling bloated and backed up, I better do it two nights in a row instead of just the day before. I drank 2/3 of the bottle with plenty of water. Within 20 minutes, I had gurgling and an urge to go. Within 30 minutes, it was more than an urge. More like an exciting, intense fear. A game almost: Will I make it? You have about 3 seconds to play that game. I lost count at how many times I went, but it was around 15 times in just a couple of hours. Each time thinking, this must be it. There can't possibly be anything left in me. Nope, 5 minutes later, here comes something you ate 2 months ago.... The best part is, since I thought I knew more than the nurse, I get to do it all over tonight! Yay! (eye roll) But I am loving this hollow feeling in my body. Complete and total clean out!"

For Constipation "I have chronic constipation, and this is the only laxative that works for me. I had to go to the ER for the second time in a few years due to not having a good BM in a few weeks. They recommended the magnesium citrate again for the second time around, and if you are chronically constipated, IT WILL TAKE A WHILE, so make sure you have the next couple of days off. This last time, I took a whole bottle (10 fl oz) around 8 PM at night. I woke up the next morning feeling nothing, so I took another half bottle (5 fl oz), and then within the next 2 or 3 hours, the rumbling and flooding started and lasted the whole day. Make sure you have baby wipes so your bottom doesn’t go too raw, and apply ointment before it all starts and during the event as well. It is 1 AM Saturday morning, and I am having bloating, nausea, and a terrible stomach ache. I knew I was going to have diarrhea, but I didn’t know how gross I would feel the next night, and I’m back to going to the bathroom. VERY effective for people like me, but nasty side effects."

For Constipation "I have been having trouble pooping for over a week now. My stomach is bloated, and I have pain. I had an MRCP done and an ultrasound plus obstruction X-rays done today. I drank a bottle of magnesium citrate yesterday, Friday around 5 p.m., and as of yet haven't gone. I had to use a Fleet enema to get some movement. My stomach looks like I'm pregnant. I am waiting until Monday or Tuesday to find out if I have a blockage in my intestines. Very much in pain. Please pray for me. I went through this 3 years ago, and they never found the problem."

For Constipation "I used this for constipation. I drank an entire 10 oz. bottle around 4 p.m., then had several glasses of water. I had very mild cramping and lots of stomach sounds all evening/night. No BM until the following morning around 9 a.m. Diarrhea, but no cramps. Had 1 more episode of diarrhea, but not a lot. Still feel a little constipated and quite bloated, though. I am a 125 lb. female, so I thought, especially after reading other reviews, that I would have a very strong reaction from this stuff. It worked OK, but nothing crazy for me."

For Constipation "I was afraid I was very constipated when my abdomen was bloated and hard, and my back and abdomen hurt. I tried drinking the magnesium citrate and chasing it with a drink of something that didn’t taste horrible. I tried this without drinking water afterward, and it had worked in the past, but I’m telling you that you really have to force yourself to drink a couple glasses of water. If you do not have diarrhea after this, then it didn’t work. I don’t know how, but I drank this bottle, and nothing happened. Definitely drink this bottle at home alone and have a day to not do much. But my best advice is drink water with it."

"This magnesium citrate took overnight to work for me, but worked well. I had no pain or cramping, just some bloating and nausea. I took it at 9:30 at night followed by a glass of warm water. I got up around midnight to drink another glass. I started going around 7:30 the next morning. If you have an impacted stool, be aware that you still have to give birth to that thing from your butt. And yes, it hurts. But once it’s gone, you will pass every food you have eaten since you came out of the birth canal. This is one of the easier bowel preps. It will clean you out, and it does work, provided you take it on an empty stomach and drink plenty of water. Soft toilet paper, baby wipes, and some Vaseline help. Your cinnamon ring will thank you. Good luck."

For Constipation "I've used magnesium citrate before, and it works like a charm. On and off stomach bloating, pressure, I knew I was stuffed up. Drank a whole bottle at 11:15 AM, by 6:45 PM, I was off to the races. Definitely recommend clearing your calendar for a day or so because you're gonna go."

For Constipation "I have to say I didn't believe when I heard this worked immediately..... I am usually very regular, but after 6 days of constipation, I was in hell. Being bloated and gassy is not the most pleasant feeling. So after 3 days of looking at the bottle, I was still afraid it would taste like cough medicine, but I was desperate, so I just drank it.... no bad! Tastes like soda.... So I drank half of the 10 oz bottle and then a bottle of water. After 1 hour, I felt nothing but nausea since I drank it on an empty stomach at 9 am.... 30 mins after, I drank another 1/4... 1 hr later, I thought maybe hot coffee will help.... I didn't even finish my coffee when I felt ready... so 1 hr and 30 mins for me! No cramps or anything.... better than pills! This stuff is magic."

"I bought this product as a 'cleansing.' I drank the complete bottle (10 oz), and an hour later I felt nauseous and bloated. It wasn't until a total of 7 hours after drinking this that my relief came. I feel lighter and a whole lot better. The results outweigh the burned-out bum."

For Constipation "I've suffered from IBS-C for a few years now. Normally, Miralax does the trick but can take a few days. I decided to try MC, drank the full 10 oz of the grape flavor thinking I had to. Should have stopped at 1/3 of the bottle. Anywho, drank it from 7:45-9:30 PM after putting it in the freezer for 30 minutes. Didn't feel much right away and thought it didn't work. That's until my stomach started gurgling. Then came the pains and a lot of bloating. Holy Batman, the pains! Still, nothing came out after an hour filled with multiple tries. Laid down hoping to sleep through the discomfort. Was awakened at 4 AM and sprinted to the bathroom. It worked. It's still working 8 hours later! Solution is VERY effective, may take a few hours to kick in."

For Constipation "About a week and a half ago, I noticed some abdominal pain and bloating and thought I must have severe gas that wouldn't release and took some antacid tablets for a few days. Then, after not having a regular bowel movement for around 10 days and only about 2 in that time (normally once a day), I decided I had to do something as I continued to eat relatively normal and a good amount, yet nothing was exiting my body, and figured it may be time to even seek emergency help. My father recommended magnesium citrate, and needless to say, it has relieved a lot of pain. After days of straining in pain, I had a bowel movement within 20 minutes that relieved some initial pain, but then nothing happened for about 5 hours, and then wow...a river of poo."

For Constipation "I've always battled constipation. This time I had gone the longest without a bowel motion. Almost three weeks, my husband's cousin recommended I get the grape-flavored magnesium citrate from the Dollar General. I was desperate, I looked six months pregnant and couldn't eat anything, I was so bloated and uncomfortable. I got it, drank the whole ten ounces and a bottle of water, which made me feel very sick at first. After about thirty minutes, I started feeling gassy, but just in case it was more, I ran to the toilet! Very glad I did. I recommend this for anyone who doesn't have time to sit at home waiting on a laxative to work. It's very quick and effective. I also suggest drinking lots of water."

For Constipation "If I haven't hardly gone to the bathroom in a few days, and I feel bloated and blocked up, like there's a plug in my gut, Magnesium Citrate works. Every time. Sometimes it takes longer than others, but I don't mess with anything else. Drink the whole bottle. Follow with water or Gatorade. Wait 3-12 hours. Sometimes the constipation and bloating makes it really hard to focus, so I'll drink it before bed, and wake up to go to the bathroom. Set aside a few hours you can be near a home toilet, as there's a decent chance you'll need to clean up afterward!"

For Constipation "So, this was recommended to me by the local pharmacist because I have not taken a poop in a week! I was so uncomfortable and in pain. I will say, the experience drinking this was horrible. I had the grape flavor, and it was unbelievably sour. This was my first time taking this stuff for constipation. I guzzled down a full 10 oz bottle at 8 PM and followed it with lots of water. It gave me the worst nausea of my life, and it took my all to hold it down, and it bloated me like a balloon. I stayed up until about 2 AM and nothing. I was getting so nervous that I just went to sleep. I woke up at 8 AM, 12 hours later, and still nothing. Finally, at about 1 PM, 17 hours later, the dam burst, and it was so relieving! Horrible taste, but it does work!"

For Constipation "First off, I got the cherry flavor. I'm not sure how to describe its taste. It was like a very sweet cherry soda but with a very salty aftertaste. I was planning on drinking the whole 10 oz bottle but only got about 3/4 of the way through before it started making me nauseous. At first, nothing happened, about an hour in, the bloating I had been experiencing worsened, but then about 2 hours later, I had a very small BM, then another 2 hours, the diarrhea started. It wasn't explosive or anything like that. To be honest, I'm not sure it actually cleared out everything like it is supposed to. I will update in a few days. But it did alleviate the discomfort."

For Constipation "I recently changed my diet and have been eating more protein, which has seriously backed me up. I hadn't pooped for 4 days and felt nauseous after eating and bloated and gassy. My stomach was rock hard, with no relief from senna, essential lemon oil, digestive enzymes, probiotics, colon cleanse, and Smooth Move tea. A friend recommended mag citrate. I had never heard of it before. Went to the store and bought it for 1.99. Sour lemon taste. I drank half a bottle and nothing. Drank the other half and 16 ounces of water (maybe more), and the magic started happening. I'm still sitting on the toilet with my pants around my ankles, hoping for some more movement. This stuff works. Be patient. It took me 1.5-2 hours for the first movement."

For Constipation "Immediately after drinking one bottle, I begin to feel incredibly bloated, but the real fun starts after about 4-5 hours. Sometimes I barely get my pants pulled down as I dive for the toilet. If I could time my BMs, sometimes they'd be 20 seconds straight of just sheer, vertical spray. I mean, I actually sit there and laugh. After spending 20 minutes or so having diarrhea with gale force winds, I can usually exit the bathroom. Bring air freshener with you because I swear, after drinking Mag Cit, it smells something awful. Then for the next few hours, my wife chants 'run forest run' because I literally have to jump up, clench those cheeks, and make a mad dash to the bathroom. So in short, if you are going to take this, do it in the morning. I would NOT recommend taking this after noon unless you want to be washing your bed sheets in the morning. And for the love of God, don't take this at work!"
