For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I'm 5'4" and 165 lbs, on thyroid meds, and have not been able to lose the weight from my last child. I took Qsymia a year ago and lost 15 lbs in 3 months, but the side effects were insomnia, which I've never had in my life, and dry mouth. Cost per month was nearly $300.00, not covered by insurance. I gained half the weight back and decided to try a different medication. Now on Belviq XR, my Dr. gave me a discount card, and it only costs $98.00 as opposed to $300.00. I have been taking it for 4 days and have lost 3 lbs! It has not curbed my eating, although I do feel that my appetite is suppressed. I have not had issues sleeping, but my muscles do feel sore, and I am a bit sluggish at times during the day. I have felt like I'm about to get a UTI for a few days now. I also had a few times standing up where I felt dizzy. Those are all the side effects I've experienced."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am a 48-year-old female weighing 205 lbs (the most I have ever weighed in my life). My doctor recommended Belviq XR (20 mg) once daily, which he felt was a good option for me since I have high blood pressure. I am also doing WW in conjunction with the med. I began the med on 5/11, today is 5/14 (4 days on it today). On Day 1 and Day 2, I experienced extreme fatigue, mental fogginess, and a low-grade headache. On Day 3, those side effects subsided until I went to bed last night and woke up from what seemed to be hallucinogenic nightmares. It was so bizarre. My dreams were very vivid and lifelike, and I woke up several times during the night. I took Advil, and it stopped, and finally I could go back to sleep. To date, I lost 3 pounds in 4 days, so it seems to be working, but not sure if I can stay on Belviq with the side effects, the interruption of sleep, and nightmares. It is quite scary to experience. I am hoping it subsides."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Like many, I had a bad experience with Belviq. First off, let me say I took this drug without food. After 5 hours later, I felt as if I voluntarily drugged myself, I experienced extreme fatigue, weakness, and a massive headache that lay up to 2 days. (It felt like I had a hangover, I could barely walk.) I took this drug on Wednesday, February 28, at 8:30 am. At that point, I knew I would throw away the drug. Then I decided to give the drug another try, but with food. This is when I discovered I am one of the people who have to take this with food and not on an empty stomach. What a big difference! No fatigue or weakness, no hangover feeling, and definitely no headaches. So I’m deciding to keep the drug because it did still curb my appetite, and I do want to add, though I experienced just wanting to rest and sleep, I was okay with that."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started Belviq XR 20 mg morning— Day 1 experience dizziness, fatigue, slight headache, and racing heart 96 resting / up to 108 with movement. Day 2 my symptoms were dizziness and slight headache. Seven days later—I continue to take the medication and the only symptom I have is dizziness. I contacted my dr because this medicine has not suppressed my appetite at all—so he is planning to switch me to something else."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I've taken Belviq XR for the last 5 nights. I had hoped any dizziness or other reactions would happen while I slept. I am noticing extreme fatigue, aching in my neck, lower back, and knees, and all over wobbliness. I haven't lost any weight yet, as I am too tired to exercise. The cost for 30 days was $315 with a coupon. Quite expensive to feel like rubbish and no weight loss."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started taking Belviq on December 11 and stopped on December 22. While on the medication, I experienced dry eyes, brain fog, aches, fatigue, and after the first week, I seemed to not be able to control my bladder. The medication does reduce the appetite, however, the side effects of the medication were too harsh for me. $245 dollars, the remainder of the medication will stay in the bottle."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Well, I've been using Belviq XR for a week now. The first two days, I experienced dizziness and headaches, but by day four, I didn't have those symptoms. It definitely has suppressed my appetite, I find myself forcing myself to eat. Fatigue is a side effect, but I think the fatigue is attributed to the lack of caloric intake, especially since I exercise regularly. So, it's important to eat even if you have no appetite. So, in a week, I've lost five pounds so far, so good. :)"
