For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been taking Belviq XR for a week. I noticed since I started taking it, I have been very cold and drowsy, and I also have dry mouth quite often. I feel the side effects are worth it because I've lost 4 pounds. I don't want to binge eat all day like I did before I started taking Belviq, I am satisfied with lunch and dinner."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "After my first dose, I started having chills. Could not get warm. Extremely tired and achy. Headache, depressed, just wanted to sleep. No desire to do anything but sleep. Very dizzy. Would not recommend driving. Skipped 2nd dose. On the bright side, I didn't want to eat, too nauseous."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I've taken this medication for only a day. Well, this is my second day. The first day I was really, really not feeling myself, chills, I felt like I had the flu. Today I feel so much better. I'm not very hungry, I eat because I don't want to feel sick, but I'm only eating fruits and cabbage soup. I will keep you guys updated on my adventure. I will check back in about a week."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I generally tolerate all medications well and was surprised how awful I felt on Belviq. Within a few days of starting it, I came down with what I thought was a virus: body aches, chills, and nausea. I kept on the Belviq since I had just started it. I spoke about this to my doctor, and he said to give it another week or two. Then the aches, chills, and nausea came again. I also felt that the product did not work. I got an additional headache in the evening and then was ravenous. I stopped the Belviq, and the symptoms went away."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "After 1 dose of Belviq XR, within a couple of hours, I had every single side effect. Cold symptoms, dizziness, inner ear issues, lethargy, severe headache, swollen feet and hands, scratchy throat, brain fog. Had all of these flu symptoms, so I assumed that it was the actual flu and not side effects. Then I noticed the itching that others reported. I noticed swelling in my feet and hands - severe swelling. Hurt to put my shoes on. Body aches, joint pain. My mind is mush. All of these are typical side effects of the medication according to the manufacturer. What is ‘typical’ about feeling sick? I ended up having to go home from work because I was not able to function. Basically, I am out 2 days of work, $145 for medication I am not taking, $100 to see the doctor for a flu test (I don’t have the flu, I have side effects)."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started Belviq XR three days ago. I take it at 10 in the morning. The first day I was cold and very tired. I pretty much laid on the couch with a blanket and watched TV. I like a cocktail in the evening and drank 2. I was worried about mixing it with alcohol, but I researched and found nothing that said 'do not drink', so I chanced it. Day two was much better. I wasn't feeling cold anymore and had a little more energy. Again, I had 2 cocktails that evening with no side effects. Today, day three, I weighed myself and I have lost 2 pounds. The appetite suppressant kicked in today, and I just ate my first meal at 4 pm. I am hoping it deters my alcohol cravings, as I know that is a lot of calories that are not helping my weight loss. So far, so good on this medication. I plan to give it at least 30 days. Good luck to everyone trying to lose weight. It is tough!"
