For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been on Belviq for 9 days now and have lost 7 lbs. The first day, I had a severe headache and some dizziness. I only took one pill that day. My headache and dizziness went away once the pill wore off. I started again the next day and had no headache, so I kept going and took the two pills that day. I have had no side effects since that first day. It does curb my appetite, and I haven't been hungry. I am using my Fitbit and the MyFitnessPal app to keep up with my exercise, calories, and water intake. I need to lose around 65 pounds. Belviq costs me $75 a month, I got the discount coupon from my doctor. Update... One month in, 15 pounds down. No problems at all, it's working for me."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been taking belviq for a day and a half. I feel so dizzy at times. I really hope this goes away. I had a headache, but it went away with advil. I'm hoping and praying that the dizziness will go away with time. On a positive note, I'm not very hungry, I feel full faster. I literally made myself eat at dinner time because I was scared I would get hungry closer to bedtime, and I didn't want to eat late."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Began having thyroid issues years ago which in turn caused a progressive weight gain. I do not have heart problems, diabetes (showing some tendencies) or any severe diseases but have become very obese. My endocrinologist suggested Belviq as a way to help me lose weight and regain some energy & mobility and to prevent any development of full blown diabetes. I began back in November and as of yesterday I have lost 19 pounds - this was through Thanksgiving & Christmas. The first two weeks I experienced some dizziness but it was mild. I also have experienced 'very active' dreams nightly but not enough to prevent rest. The weight loss has been wonderful and my clothes are fitting more comfortably. It has been an answer to prayer!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Today is my 10th day on Belviq. For a few days, I felt dizzy and overly cheerful and chatty. When I didn't feel any symptoms anymore, I figured it wasn't working. I felt that way because I didn't feel jittery or high like some other diet pills would make a person feel. But in 10 days on Belviq, I'm down 12 pounds. I eat what I want for dinner (but a much smaller portion) and am careful about eating only healthy foods for breakfast, lunch, and snacks. A week into starting the pills, the only effect it's having on me is suppressing my appetite, which I think is great! I sometimes have to force myself to eat because I don't feel hungry. This pill doesn't keep me up at night. I honestly sleep better now than I did before the pills. I'm happy with my results so far and will be starting the gym soon. I'm very happy with this medication."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "After many years of unsuccessful weight loss, my doctor suggested trying Belviq. I cannot even express how wonderful my experience has been with it. I have been taking it for close to two months and am down over 20 lbs. I also watch what I eat and exercise daily. This is not a magic pill that will make you lose weight, my experience with it is that it is a very effective tool that goes hand in hand with lifestyle changes. I find that it makes eating right somewhat easy. It seems to work in my brain, changing my relationship with food. For the first time in my life, I am free from obsessive thoughts about food. I felt a bit wonky the first day or two on it, but at this point, I have zero side effects."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started one week ago taking 2 per day as prescribed but forgot 2 days to take the second dose at work, so for the last 4 days, I have only been taking 10 mg in the morning. I am not hungry at all. I am eating mostly a Paleo diet, doing some cardio exercise, and I have lost 6.9 pounds in the last week. I am very impressed! I experienced a slight headache, dizziness, and a 'high' feeling during the first few days, but those have gone away."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started Belviq just under two months ago. I have lost 23 lbs! Definitely makes you feel full quickly. This is the only thing that has worked. I have hypothyroidism, which makes it twice as hard to lose weight. Initially felt tired and a little dizzy, but that was short-lived. No other side effects. I did cut out about 80% of gluten from my diet. I take 10 mg, twice a day. I am very happy with the results. I will post again in two months!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I've been on Belviq for 3 weeks and initially experienced dizziness for 4 days. That's gone away, and I feel great. I have more energy and sleep better. My insurance won't cover Belviq until I tried 2 other weight loss meds, so I'm grateful for the help with the $75 card from Belviq. I've been able to control my eating and resist temptations. And I'm down 14 lbs! LOVE BELVIQ!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I'm a 36-year-old female. I was overweight by 13 lbs. I know that's not a lot, but I was afraid of gaining even more weight. I was hungry all the time. I would eat a big meal at lunch and feel like I was starving an hour later. My doctor prescribed me Belviq 6 weeks ago, I've lost 20 lbs so far. I use my Gear Fit 2 to track my steps and water intake. I'm also using the S Health app on my phone to track my calories. I eat no more than 1200 calories per day. I only drink water. No alcohol, no soda, no coffee. The first day I took Belviq, I did have a headache, and I felt dizzy. By the next day, I felt normal again. I went on the Belviq website to download their coupon. I do not go through my insurance. I pay $75 per month. Well worth it!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "The good: I've been taking Belviq for two weeks. I have had a significant decrease in appetite and desire to eat. Even when I am hungry, I'm really not interested in food. I get up to find something to snack on, but find myself walking away because nothing looks good to eat. I've had a 7-pound weight loss, so I would call this a success. The bad: I have definitely noticed the fatigue, all day long. My mood is pretty flat all of the time. Not happy, not sad, just flat. I have been dizzy, at times to the point of needing to sit down. I also notice difficulty keeping my eyes focused on the screen. Like my eyes are drifting without my being able to control it. I'm thinking about stopping or lowering the dose."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I was desperate to lose weight when I reached an all-time high of 258 lbs. At 5'7" on August 29, I began Belviq and a new food plan with my licensed nutritionist and my supervision of my doctor, who first had to take me off Lexapro, slowly for anxiety. He said Belviq would benefit me by helping me lose weight and help reduce anxiety. I was excited to try. I am now five months into this, lost 48 lbs at 210 lbs. I have had no side effects other than more dry mouth than usual with thirst. I drink water all day long anyway, so it isn't a big problem. Dizzy at first from change in meds but quickly readjusted. I have no cravings for sugary foods and carbs. I feel so much better. I have faith that I will make the goal of 175 by my one-year anniversary."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started the pill, and the first day was super wacky and dizzy. After the 10th day, I discontinued. I had gained weight; had water weight but was dehydrated; had blurred vision; dizziness, headache, backache, and joint/muscle aches; couldn't complete a sentence; chills, shakiness, vivid dreams; couldn't drive; extreme fatigue and disassociation. I think I had serotonin syndrome. I was not successful on it, but the patient insert was helpful, and I realized I needed to get off of it. After stopping taking it, I started feeling better by the hour. Now, two days late, every symptom has gone away. I have about 40 lbs to lose. I am happy for those who found success with Belviq but wanted to post my experience for those who are having trouble."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I've been taking 10 mg of Belviq 2x a day for 4 weeks. The first few days, I had headaches. They went away, and then the next, I had a ringing in my ears and loss of balance (can't say that is a side effect or a coincidence). They went away as well. I have had no side effects since then, other than fatigue and weight loss!! Belviq has made it easier for me to cut calories and not feel hungry. It has also made it easier for me to ignore people eating around me. I don't crave anything anymore. When I started on July 10th, I weighed 186 lbs, and now on August 5th, I weigh 172. 14 lbs and counting. Also, my insurance wouldn't cover it, but I got the manufacturer's coupon (which was really easy), and I use that and only pay $83.00. I say stick with it!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "WARNING... NEVER STOP THIS MEDICATION COLD TURKEY. The side effects are extreme! I was on Belviq for 4 months and began having side effects of nausea, headaches, and overall just a weird feeling. I stopped the medication to see if that's what the cause was. A few days later, I had severe muscle tremors and spasms, loss of coordination, sweating, shivering, shaking, headaches, and a rapid heart rate. I thought I was having a stroke. Went to the ER. My blood pressure was 210/150! Unfortunately, every time I would have a withdrawal from this medication, I would experience these symptoms. It took 2 1/2 weeks to get this medication out of my body. I was confused a lot and had severe depression. I had all of the signs of serotonin syndrome."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I've been on Belviq for 5 days. I'm taking it for thyroid-related weight gain. I'm 39, 5'2", and 30 lbs overweight - diet and exercise have not worked. The first few days were rough. Severe dizziness, headaches, etc. In general, I could barely function, mostly because of the dizziness. Now at day 5, I'm feeling much better, no headaches, dizziness is greatly improved, etc. I have lost 1 lb. in 5 days - this is impressive, as I was gaining 2 lbs weekly before Belviq. I don't have enough time on Belviq to give a real review, just wanted to say hang in there, the side effects will subside after a few days. Mine were bad, I wanted to stop taking it, luckily, I stuck it out. I'm very excited about what Belviq can help me accomplish!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been on Belviq for 1 week and 1 day. Day 1 was just awful. I felt 'stoned', dizzy, brain fog, tight chest, extremely tired. The positive: virtually instantaneous appetite suppression, and more than that - a feeling of satisfaction after eating only a fraction of what I normally ate. So I decided to play out the side effects and see if they went away. Each day was a little better than the last. By day 4, I was feeling mostly normal - more like a Benadryl fog than a stoned feeling now. Other side effects were a mild cough, some ear/jaw pain, sneezing fits, and general weirdness. It is mostly gone now, and I am down 3 lbs. Glad I stuck with it. I am in it for the long haul. I desperately want to be one of those before-and-after people!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been on Belviq for 5 days, and I'm down 2 pounds. My starting weight on Monday was 251, and now I am 247. I have cut back on eating due to not feeling hungry all the time, so that helps me count calories so I don't overeat. But I will say that you need to make sure that you eat breakfast in the morning. Don't forget to download MyFitness Pal to help. Side effects: I had a headache, drowsiness/dizziness the first day, but that seemed to wear off the first day or so. Good luck everyone, and I will keep you updated on my weight loss. Adding exercise this week every day!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I'm a 57-year-old female and I've struggled with weight loss for many years. I hopped on the scale almost a month ago and was weighing 201.5, the most I've ever weighed in my entire life. Super tired all the time, knees hurting, just knew I had to lose weight. I had tried many diets, lost a little bit, gained a whole lot back, the yo-yo thing. So I asked my doctor to prescribe me something so I can lose weight. I have high blood pressure and high cholesterol, so she prescribed me Belviq 10 mg, one pill twice a day. I haven't even been on it a full month and have already lost 12 lb, and my appetite has dropped drastically. There were a few little side effects the first few days: dizziness, light headache, and the first couple of days I was nauseous, but nothing I couldn't deal with. So all in all, I give Belviq 8 stars."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I've been on Belviq for about 12 days. The side effects the first week were a little rough: severe dry mouth, body aches, dizziness, fatigue, and I actually gained 3 lbs! But if you can get through that, the 2nd week has improved. The side effects have mostly disappeared, with the exception of the dry mouth. I have lost the initial 3 lb gain and am down 3 more! I'm never hungry and have to remind myself to eat. When I do eat, I'm fuller faster! My insurance didn't cover it, so I downloaded the 15-day free sample and the savings card from the website, and so my cost will be $75 a month. I'm planning on staying on this pill and will keep you updated on the progress. I'm pretty excited now that I'm seeing the weight loss!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am on my third day of Belviq. It seems to be working for suppressing my appetite. I read a lot of reviews before taking it, and I have noticed some of the common side effects (not sure if it's just because I read it that I'm thinking I'm feeling it). I have had some dizziness, super thirsty, some heat flashes, tired... But I do like the fact that it suppresses my appetite. I've been eating healthier and working out a lot, so I will weigh in two weeks. My start date was 3/10/16 at 217 lbs."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started Belviq XR yesterday. Took my first pill at 9 AM. I realized at noon that I hadn't had my normal daily healthy snack and that I wasn't hungry for lunch. I did eat lunch at 1:30, but only a few bites and I lost all interest. I felt a little dizzy later in the afternoon, so I had some carrots and had to force my dinner down later and ate 3/4 of it. Never did I feel hungry all day. I can see, with this pill, you have to force yourself to eat. I had absolutely no cravings yesterday for anything. I did get cold later in the afternoon, which I'm never cold. And my skin got tingly, like I put icy/hot on it. Other than that and a little lightheadedness, I had no other side effects. Will update again at the 1-week mark."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I was on Belviq for a while, and it was really good. It helped me lose over 70 lbs. But after the 5 months of being on it, it started to make me dizzy, sleepy, tired, confused, and a little depressed. It also made it really hard for me to concentrate. The medication was no longer working for me, I had an incredibly hard time moving. I constantly felt thrown out of balance and almost fell several times. I had to stop taking it. Good news, though: the medication didn't cause any type of discontinuation syndrome, so once I was off of it, I felt so much better."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I had gained 100 pounds over the last 4 years due to having my son and hormone imbalances, and nothing has worked in the past. I'm currently on the 15-day free trial, and I was very suspicious of a drug like this. However, I am on Day 13, and I have lost a total of 11 pounds in just under 2 weeks! I cannot be happier. I did not have any of the symptoms listed on some of the other posts (dizziness, headaches, etc.). I do have a little bit of dry mouth, which just forces me to drink more water. My insurance doesn't cover this, but I have the $75 copay card, which is a godsend because the medication is usually well over $200."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Ok, so I started taking Belviq on July 11, 2015. I took 1 pill at 9 a.m. I started feeling like I was intoxicated, dizzy, and very tired for like a half an hour. Then my muscles began to feel a little achy in both arms, my cheeks on my face started feeling achy like I had been smiling for 2 hours, and a little lower back pain. It all was just a little discomfort, nothing too alarming that I needed any pain meds for. After a couple of hours, it had passed, and so did my appetite. Once I noticed the time, it was 7 p.m., so I made myself eat a salad and took the 2nd pill. I didn't like the 2nd dosage because it made me feel dizzy and like I just came from a bar. So I only take 1 a.m. pill a day. July 11-July 18: 288 lb to 282 lb, 7 days lost 6 lbs and feeling good."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I tried taking it for a total of 5 days and was so dizzy I was bouncing off the walls. I felt very lethargic and couldn't even function. I'd wake up in the morning feeling like I was 90, with all the aches and pains. And worst of all, it didn't do anything to curb my appetite! In fact, it made me hungrier! I went back to my old buddy, Phentermine."
