"I was given a Lupron Depot 3month injection. The day after the injection I was in debilitating pain in my spine my hands & wrists & my ankles & it only got worse from there. The pain worsened as the days went by, I had trouble getting up I was drained of all energy was nauseated pain & stiffness in my hands & wrists to the point I could barely move them. I had horrible painful popping & cracking in my wrists & ankles & they would lock up & felt as though my bones were going to break. I had horrific migraines too. When I called my doctor regarding this effects they said it'd go away after the trial ended. It's over 6 months since I had my trial, & the pain & stiffness in my hands & wrists didn't go away. I now have tingling & weakness that spreads through my hands, wrists & arms. I had the laparoscopic surgery last month & I do have endometriosis. I just wish I'd done the surgery to begin with."

"When I took this it was very painful. The shots messed up my muscles and my condition got so much worse after the 6 month period. I had to get surgery and lost my first organ. I'm not saying don't try it for endo but be wary when you do. You're supposed to have more intense symptoms in the first part but it is supposed to get better. Mine did not, it only got worse."

"I've been on the lupron shot for almost 2 years now the first six months were the hardest I woke up tired icky feeling and puked. I lost my appetite lost a lot of weight and it made my insomnia worse and my urge to pee worse especially at night. Once the nausea settled and my appetite came back the other side effects were easy to cope with on top of the side effects from the implanon. I haven't bleed at all and had no pain. I got off it for 3 months and some of my shooting pain came back but no bleeding so I got put back on it. I just decided to take a break and I'm crampy and starting to spot. My obgyn said I shouldn't have pain like I was before so we shall wait and see since the lupron is working my medicaid wont let me have a lap to see what stage my endometriosis is"

"I have stage 4 Endo with Adenomyosis large fibroids. I’m currently awaiting to get my 3rd dose of the lupron injection. It hasn’t been a bad experience; just Body aches, bad hot flashes, night sweats. No real weight gain, actually loss 6 pounds since I started the injection. After my first injection I had a minor period and my second injection no period or pain. Coming into the 3rd injection being due, I’m starting to experience Endo pain. Think I’m only going to do one round of lupron."

"I am a 22-year-old black woman who started taking this injection in February after undergoing diagnostic surgery for endometriosis. I don't know what stage of endo I'm in, but it has spread to my intestines, liver, ovaries, and bladder. When I was informed about the injection, I read about its effects, so I'm not surprised, but it doesn't make me feel any less miserable. I experience severe hot flashes day and night, weight gain, and a severely decreased libido. Fortunately, I haven't felt any joint pain yet, but I hope I never do. I'm scheduled for the second dose, but I'm on the fence about continuing due to my decreased libido and weight gain. This injection is affecting my self-esteem, but I can't handle being in pain for 13 days every month. Although I still had a period every month, my last one was the worst, with heavy bleeding, extreme bloating, and gastrointestinal pain. If you're informed about this injection, choose to use it wisely."

"Just got my second 1-month-Depot shot yesterday. I can’t say I like it but it’s also not terrible. I have had hot flashes at nights or sometimes during the day, I wake up more often at night, usually because of hot flashes or sweating. I am not used to feeling warm, I rather feel cold quickly. Kinda nice to feel warm actually. Def not horrible. Didn’t gain any weight so far, had definite some sugar and carb cravings but switched to a sugar free low carb diet and feel much better on it. Also working out daily helps. I’ve had one real break down moment a couple of weeks ago but I am also in a difficult life changing situation so I wouldn’t completely blame it on the drug. However that was ONE day and then I was feeling okay again. I’ve had joint pain in my elbows and and a few headaches (I never have headaches) and I feel vaginal dryness. Def felt increased libido the first two weeks. All in all not too bad. No idea if it’s working yet but I’m hopeful and would do it again."

"Almost as soon as the injection of Lupron Depot 3.75 was administered I experienced the most horrible night sweats hourly making sleep impossible, burning palms of hands, raising pulse & headaches. 2 weeks after the injection I experienced pain in knees, difficulty in crouching, walking up and down stairs, increases pain in joints hands and feet."

"I have been taking Lupron for 4 months now with about 2 months of that having addback. I am 17 years old and only have one ovary (not sure if this effects my experience at all). I am in hell, I'm constantly missing school. I don't want to get up every day of my life and I always want to just cry. I wake up in pools of sweat, I get migraines to the point I get blurry vision and see dark spots, I still have pelvic pain (what I was trying to fix) and I am constantly dizzy. I also cannot think and remember correctly anymore. I lost my life."

"I am 25 and received 9 months of injections with Lupron for endometriosis and had a terrible experience with it. First was the symptom flare the first month which made my pain even worse and I missed 3 weeks of work out of 4 weeks. Then even with add back therapy, I had hot flashes, trouble sleeping, severe pain with sex, and bad acne. And it did nothing to help the pain I was having. I stopped this medication after 9 months and even now, one year after stopping, I have residual digestive issues and continued vulvodynia which started when I was on Lupron. Many doctors seem to use this drug as a first line treatment against Endo but it is brutal and is only a temporary treatment"
