Lemborexant for Insomnia "I thought I had dropped into a live-in nightmare two times in one night. It scared me so badly when I finally woke up, I swore I would never take this drug again. It was the most horrific dream I've ever had. I took a 1.5 mg pill. I'm still shaken up after taking this drug. I hope this helps someone. It is not for me. I have never been scared of meds until now."

Lemborexant for Insomnia "I took 5 mgs of Dayvigo last night for the first time for insomnia and experienced several nightmares over the course of the early morning hours. The nightmares were among some of the worst I've had, they were vivid and violent. I was also awakened early morning with lots of sweating, heart palpitations, and numbness in my hands. I will never take this medication again due to the horrific side effects and impact on my heart."

Lemborexant for Insomnia "I have used Ambien, Xanax, Klonopin, trazodone, Halcion, Remeron, hydroxyzine, baclofen, doxycycline, Benadryl, Seroquel, the list goes on. None of these have been as effective as Dayvigo. I take it at 11 PM each night, and it is impossible to stay awake past 30 minutes. No nightmares, no sleep paralysis, just restful sleep with no drugged-out side effects. This medication has been a godsend for me. My daily functioning has improved substantially. The best thing is you can take this every night and not become physically dependent like the Z-drugs and benzos. Have also lost weight on this med."

Lemborexant for Insomnia "Dayvigo has given me my life back. Seriously - don't let the negative reviews deter you from trying this medication. I have had insomnia for most of my life, and Dayvigo is the first treatment that has worked consistently to help me fall asleep (and stay asleep throughout the night). If I do wake up, I fall back asleep very quickly. The best part is that I wake up feeling fully rested and sharp the following day. A few things I have observed: 1. Try different strengths. 5 mg did nothing for me, but 10 mg was perfect. 2. Give it some time. The longer I've been on it, the better it has worked. 3. You're going to have some vivid dreams and possibly nightmares. I personally enjoy dreaming! 4. I've personally had zero side effects, and it does not interact with my many medications. This is awesome, as most sleep medications have a laundry list of side effects/interactions. 5. Don't expect to wake up if someone needs you. Once I'm out, I'm out. I hope this helps!"

Lemborexant for Insomnia "This has to be the worst drug. I've taken Ambien for over 20 years, but my doctor wanted me to switch. He gave me Dayvigo - I tried it for a couple of days, and it had many side effects. My doctor insisted that I needed to take it for 3 weeks. I’ve taken it for 5 nights, and I’ve had the worst nightmares, or rather terrors! I have woken myself up every night screaming and in fear. The most lucid, violent dreams ever ~ I’ve been murdered every night. And in the day, I have become less functional and feeling depressed. This drug needs to be re-evaluated for safety by the FDA. It is harmful and should be taken off the market. After reading other reviews, this looks to be a common complaint. I’d give this drug a zero if I could."

Lemborexant for Insomnia "Got this from a new doctor, one I had to ask to put on a mask when I entered her office. That should have been warning enough to not trust her. I took the 5 mg pill around 11:30 p.m. By midnight, still not feeling sleepy, feeling fuzzy and slightly dizzy. Went to bed and settled in. That is when the nightmares began. These dreams were intense and more vivid than I thought possible. Like immersive 3D real-world technicolor high-end sound. Woke up at 4 a.m. feeling like my entire body was vibrating. Got back to bed at 4:30 a.m. attempting to sleep. Instantly, the insane dreams started up again. Felt like a state somewhere between being awake and asleep. Woke up at 8 a.m. sweaty and shaking a bit. Got up and spent the next hour trying to feel okay. Now, two hours later, I finally feel sleepy. Probably just tired from being in the middle of some kind of cinematic hell all night. I do not recommend this. I would not wish it on someone I deeply despise. I would rather just not sleep."

Lemborexant for Insomnia "A terrifying experience. Only tried it one time, but it was enough for me. Weird nightmares started after about 2 hours of taking it. Then, I started experiencing several sleep paralysis episodes with high heart rate and shortness of breath sensations. It was just like a horror movie being played in my head. I am a 35-year-old male. Under amitriptyline and zopiclone as treatment for insomnia. Sleep issues started about a year ago during the pandemic."

Lemborexant for Insomnia "Did not experience sleepiness whatsoever. 5 mg caused hyper-awakeness and migraine headaches. After 9 hours awake, finally fell asleep to extreme nightmares, sleep paralysis, then hallucinations and repeated screaming. Disturbing results from such a small dose. The drug was extremely expensive. I'll return to Zopiclone."

Lemborexant for Insomnia "Dayvigo paralyzed me and made me trip, and it was not fun. Dual orexin inhibitors are the worst solution for insomnia ever developed. Not only is this med ineffective, it's dangerous. I will stick to Halcion, etc., it's ostracized, but is way safer than this nightmare pill."

Lemborexant for Insomnia "Been on Dayvigo for 4 years. Tried every other sleep medication, just like everyone else, and this was the one for me. I will say there is a major side effect mentioned a few times, and that’s the sleep paralysis/nightmares. I had those more frequently when I first started, and then as I got used to the drug, I actually lowered from 10 mg to 5 mg - that was a big difference maker for me, and most side effects are gone - maybe once a month or two I’ll get a sleep paralysis event, but other than that Dayvigo makes me feel/act like a normal sleeper. Take the pill at 10:30, asleep around 11, and ready to wake up around 6 feeling well rested! The sleep paralysis sucks. But Ambien made me forget literally everything that happened on a day-to-day basis, and Lunesta ruined the taste of everything for me, leaving a metallic taste constantly in my mouth. Any other drug I didn’t mention had zero impact on my ability to fall asleep and stay asleep. Insurance covered it for 4 years."

Lemborexant for Insomnia "Please do not take this dangerous medication! I took one 5 mg pill a few hours ago and had horrendous nightmares and extremely frightening sleep paralysis for 3 hours. I almost suffocated when I turned my face halfway into the pillow and was unable to move due to sudden sleep paralysis. I have chronic insomnia, and the doctor gave me a sample pack of this med today, and I now am afraid to go back to sleep tonight in case this horrible med isn't out of my system yet, so doubt I'll get any sleep at all tonight after this wretched experience. I came across these reviews after I had taken it; had I found them beforehand, I'd never have tried it and hope no one else does either. I'm convinced the positive reviews were written by the manufacturer. I'm going back to the herbal supplements I've been taking and would rather just get 3 or 4 hours of sleep a night at this point than ever risk any sleep medication a doctor hands out in a free packet again, or prescribes for that matter."

Lemborexant for Insomnia "This is the first medication that actually did what it says without making you feel bad the next day. Even though I only get a few hours of sleep, that little bit makes me feel like a new person. I highly recommend really reading the info that comes with it. I was a little afraid of the “sleep paralysis,” but I learned I could pull myself out of it if I wanted to. Also, the medication works better or stronger on an empty stomach. So, now that I have learned the ins and outs of taking it, I get comfy and just enjoy it because I know I will go to sleep. So far, no nightmares, and I hope I don’t start that. I am on 5 mg. It makes me feel awesome when I wake up. I was able to find an online coupon that makes it only $30 a month."

Lemborexant for Insomnia "I’m dealing with insomnia for many years, and I was advised to switch over from temazepam to Dayvigo, and I absolutely regretted! I only had this medication for three nights, and every night I had horrible nightmares plus frequently waking up for seven hours' duration. I wish I never had this experience…"

Lemborexant for Insomnia "I tried Dayvigo for the first time last night. My Dr. prescribed me 5 mg but told me that I could take 2 if needed. I took the first one and I was still wide awake 3 hours later, so I took the 2nd one. I will never touch those pills again! I had very vivid nightmares all night, but I was awake enough to know I was dreaming. I was terrified and felt like I was tripping. I also got the chills, but then sweating at the same time. I'm exhausted this morning, headache, and my anxiety is high. I've been on Ambien and Lunesta, and never have I been terrified like I was with Dayvigo. I feel like I paid $310 to be tortured all night."

Lemborexant for Insomnia "Red flag, took one pill, had the most horrible nightmare. Dr. mentioned that it would be 1 week until the nightmares disappear, no way, one night is enough. Horrible experience. Will probably not publish this, be wary."

Lemborexant for Insomnia "I have taken Dayvigo for a month. 10 mg to start. I have horrible nightmares most nights when falling asleep. Sometimes sleep paralysis when falling asleep. But aside from that, once I get to sleep, I only wake up to use the bathroom. I get a full night's sleep and wake up clear-headed. I will decide this week if I will continue this drug. Many of the vivid dreams are about sex. The nightmares are all over the place. The jury is still out after almost a month on this drug."

Lemborexant for Insomnia "I took 2 Dayvigo tablets last night at 10 PM with terrifying nightmares. I co-sleep with kids, and it was like they were trying to kill me. I ran to my husband, who showered me in my pajamas, and then my maid came into the room to scare me even more, and I ended up eating some cakes just to 'sober up' from the pills. While I was eating the little cakes, I realized that I'm tripping as I actually never had any cakes in my room. I woke up at 2 AM in my bed, ran to another room to wake my husband up, asked if anything happened, and he said no. It was all just a nightmare. I also remember that I wanted to scream or drink water, and when I drank water from my kids' bottles 'cause I wasn't able to walk, I couldn't drink anything, and all the water ended up on the floor, that was also a dream. I took one more at 2 AM and woke up at 6 AM with very bad symptoms like I'm coming off Xanax or XTC. Damn, this is one hell of a pill. Now I know why they just gave me samples, and I'm glad I didn't pay."

Lemborexant for Insomnia "I do not recommend this sleeping pill to anyone! I thought I was going crazy for 3 weeks, always the same nightmares and sleep paralysis! I couldn’t speak and couldn’t move, it was the scariest night of my life. I would rather sleep 3 to 4 hours per night than go through sleep paralysis and will take Ativan to catch up every once in a while. People, stay away from Dayvigo!"

Lemborexant for Insomnia "After taking Ambien for a few years, the doc wanted me to try Dayvigo. Started on 5 mg, which took a couple of hours to become sleepy. Had horrible, scary, violent nightmares, which seemed very real and which I remember. I thought it was real and woke up very frightened after only 90 minutes asleep. Then couldn't go back to sleep. The doc told me to stop it and return to Ambien. Dayvigo is the only sleep med that ever gave me nightmares. Do not recommend at all."

Lemborexant for Insomnia "Genuinely one of the scariest medications I’ve taken in my life. At 5 mg, Dayvigo left me in a terrifying trance, I was unable to move my body but conscious for two terrible hours. At 10 mg, Dayvigo did send me to sleep (only when combined with low-dose trazodone), but with terrible nightmares, next-day drowsiness so severe that I couldn’t drive, and worsening depression. Would rather forgo sleep than take Dayvigo."

Lemborexant for Insomnia "For four days, I thought my 25-year battle with insomnia and drug trials was over! I slept well and woke up a little fuzzy for maybe 15 minutes. Then, the side effects began. During the day, I was weak, internally trembly, and anxious. So much so, I could hardly function. Then the nightmares and waking every 30 minutes or so started! I took a break. After a week, I just tried again. Slept well, but shaky and anxious all day. Not worth it, I’m going to the Mayo Clinic for help."

For Insomnia "After years of insomnia and 28 years of alcohol addiction recovery, I have finally got something that is low risk but works! 10 mg on my way to bed… I read for about 10 minutes before my eyes get heavy and I turn the light off. I wake up once or twice to use the washroom, no feeling of unsteadiness, and fall back to sleep for at least 8 hours every night. No headache, anxiety, or nightmares. I do have dreams (that I’ve never had before), and they are enjoyable! After a cup of coffee, I’m ready to go… Thank you, Dayvigo! By the way, I live in Canada, and they are fully covered by my government-sponsored health plan."

Lemborexant for Insomnia "I have had years of on-off insomnia. It used to occur when I had important or difficult things to get done the next day or deadlines. I recognize that I must have some kind of anxiety, and I have tried to overcome this with therapy. I have given up things I would have liked to do, such as teaching. I used to ruminate every night about what I would say and do in the classroom. I used benzodiazepam on and off for years but was worried about long-term side effects. Later in life, I found that even without anxiety I was having trouble getting sleepy. My body was tired, but my mind was not. Reading at night helped, but after age 65, I started to wake up after only 5 hours. I was interested to try this drug as it might (in rats so far) prevent dementia. The 5 mg dose worked to keep me asleep for 7 hours, which was amazing. It also made falling asleep faster. I had none of the side effects (nightmares, headaches). Hopefully, more research will unlock what is going on in our brains."

Lemborexant for Insomnia "This medication has been a lifesaver. No side effects, unlike Ambien, that did not do anything to me. You take this while you're in bed, you will drift off. You may have nightmares the first few nights, that's it."

Lemborexant for Insomnia "Two years into trying script after script, all had side effects and reactions to other meds. Dayvigo has been by far the worst. Extreme nightmares and even worse, sleep paralysis. ABSOLUTELY HORRIFIC, THE MOST TERRIFYING EXPERIENCE IN MY LIFE! Never again! I'm done with this stuff, I'd rather have three hours of restless sleep than this mind-tripping."
