For Gout, Acute "I get gout several times a year. I play a lot of tennis, and I seem to get the gout in my toes, knees, and wrist. I try to take this medicine as early as possible, and usually, I can get relief within 2 days. 50 mg, 2-3 times a day. I do get lightheaded, and I notice my blood pressure goes up about 10 points."

For Gout, Acute "I have had acute attacks of gout in my right foot. So painful a sheet laying on my foot would be intolerable. If taken at the first sign of pain, and not letting it get full-blown, I can cut the cycle off quickly (1 day). I also have shoulder pain in both shoulders. If I take Indomethacin every 3-4 days or so (1 75 mg capsule), I can eliminate this pain as well. Light-headedness for about 8 hours is sometimes a side effect, but nothing more."

For Gout, Acute "Just recently changed my dosage. During a severe gout attack, I take 100 mg of indomethacin, 50 mg spaced at 1 hour with a bowl of solid food like rice, noodles, or fruits like pears, papaya, and nectarines. The pain immediately ceases after 30 minutes of the second 50 mg. Lightheadedness sets in with 1 of the second 50 mg. This 2-50 mg is done once in a day ONLY during a severe gout attack. Also, I take 81 mg of aspirin within 3 hours of the second 50 mg. I am 60 years old. I take smoothed arugula with kale and fruit juice and apple cider at least once a week."

For Gout, Acute "I am a 64-year-old male at 145 pounds. I saw a podiatrist (DPM) at 2:30 pm on day 1. My pain was at a 7. I had my 1st 50 mg capsule of indomethacin at 5 pm. By 9 pm, my pain was at a 9. I took a pain pill because I could not tolerate the pain any longer. My prescription was 3 - 50 mg capsules a day. On day 2, my pain was down to a 3, and my foot was still swollen. On day 3, my foot was better, and I took my first capsule at 6:30 am. By 9 am, I was nauseous and vomiting. I felt lightheaded and awful. I was nauseous for several hours and lightheaded most of the day, with an awful headache. I finally started feeling better 12 hours later at 9 pm. After the 5th capsule, I got sick as a dog. I stopped the medication, it was not worth it."

Indomethacin for Bursitis "Got some notable relief from bursitis pain in the shoulder, but side effects became unbearable an hour after each dose. Lightheadedness upon standing, fatigue, abdominal nausea, and cramping. Dr. changed to Prednisone 20 mg with immediate results and no side effects."

For Bursitis "I was diagnosed with bursitis 2 days ago. I have never heard of this medication until then. All I can say is I am so impressed by this medication. My pain has diminished greatly! I did get the lightheadedness and a little of an upset stomach, but that is all. I definitely would recommend it to anyone. I was thrown off by the side effects at first, but I'm very glad I gave this medicine a chance. Just remember to eat with it. It was very cheap too. I have Vicodin along with it."

For Gout, Acute "I was prescribed indomethacin at a walk-in clinic to help with a gout flare-up. I hadn't experienced a flare-up in about 5-6 years, but over the course of 2-3 days, I could barely walk. The pain was really bad, but after I took one dosage of indomethacin, approximately an hour later, I started having shortness of breath. I was breathing quickly, and I couldn't focus, light-headed. It felt as though I was going to pass out but didn't. I could talk, but couldn't focus, and my sight was going in and out. I had a tingling sensation going down both my arms and pins and needles in my fingers. I never had chest pains, but I've also never felt this way in my life, so I ended up calling 911 and was checked out at the emergency room. The doctor felt as though I had a bad reaction to the medicine. Needless to say, I will never take this medication again."

For Gout, Acute "I get gout often. Nothing like indomethacin works as well. It does make me feel 'loopy,' kind of light-headed. But I call it a miracle. Trust me, gout is no fun."

Almost my experience exactly. I took 1 75 mg capsule @ 7 am, another @ 11 am, feeling lightheaded, but pain is largely gone. I can walk 'normal' again. The first several times I took it, I never really noticed the lightheadedness... becoming more pronounced now. No pain though!"
