For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Have had two yeast infections in the last two months, most likely brought on by stress, a HORRIBLE diet, and lack of sleep. Both times I took a series of three Diflucan three days in a row. It helped, but took about 5 days to see any real results. My biggest issue is the rash I get 'down there' on a yeast infection. Sadly, Diflucan doesn't help that. It's day 7 and the infection is mostly cleared. Just waiting on the rash to clear up."

Fluconazole for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Have taken sporadically for a yeast infection. Seemed to work, but I broke out in hives. It took me a bit to figure it out because I’d take 1 pill maybe once a year. It didn’t register. Well, now I know! I took 1 pill in March, 1 pill in July, and thought, huh, I wonder if fluconazole. Took 1 pill yesterday and paid attention!!! Yep! Ugh! Hives and allergic reaction not on the list! I get hives, my knuckle swells on 1 finger, and it is painful. It blisters and finally pops and heals on its own. Each time it is worse. Now my lips are swollen, and hives on palms and on skin by thumb. My hands are so dry. NEVER AGAIN WILL I TAKE THIS fluconazole!!"

Fluconazole for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I took Diflucan for a yeast infection on a Friday around 8 PM, at about 10 PM, my lips started to tingle. I went to bed and woke up at 2 AM to find my lips severely swollen with a rash around them. Today is Monday, and my lips are burning, dry, and still swollen. I am now getting sores inside of my mouth from the Diflucan. My yeast infection has cleared up, but the pain I am feeling now is horrific. I will NEVER take this pill again."

Fluconazole for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have taken Diflucan for yeast infections for years. I always get the infection after having to take antibiotics for a sinus infection (at least 1x/year). I have never had any issues - until now. Twelve hours after taking the Diflucan, I developed 3 hives - two on my face and one on my thumb. I thought maybe it was from something else or stress, so I ignored it. Big mistake. Had to take a second pill this week, and the hives came back in the exact same places, only worse, and have blistered. I also now have blisters inside my mouth and on my lips. They are extremely painful and are healing, but still there after 6 days. I expect scarring. If you have an allergic reaction to this drug, DO NOT take it again. It only gets worse. Now to figure out what I CAN take, as the yeast infection is still there."

For Fungal Infection, Internal and Disseminated "Took this fluconazole for systemic fungal infection. Took half the dose, 50 mg, and hours later I had a rash on my cheeks and felt like I was hit with the worst flu I’ve ever had. Extreme fatigue, chills, dizziness, nausea. Was asleep at night and woke up with an extreme panic attack and anxiety, and I’m not an anxious person whatsoever and have had no issues prior with this. It felt like I was seriously not going to survive. I stopped taking it, and 3 days later, almost back to normal. I never write reviews, but be careful with this stuff!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Side effects of fluconazole were so bad I couldn't finish the second pill. Took the pill around 10 PM, was fine, then woke up with a rash and severe itching all over my body. It was horrible, and it lasted days. Never again will I take this medication. Next up, Monistat!"

For Oral Thrush "Took the one dose for thrush in my mouth. Within the hour, I threw some of it up. 24 hours later, I ended up with red (tomato red skin) and itching and rash all up my arms, over my belly and neck. Been drinking water, had a bath (which helped calm the rash a bit), and now trying to ward off a panic attack. Horrible, horrible experience. I would have rather dealt with the thrush... hoping this med leaves my body soon."

For Candidemia "Do NOT take this medicine! I want to first start off by saying, this medicine fluconazole 150 mg, 3 rounds is terrible! I had no idea I was having an allergic reaction to this medication. I was prescribed this medicine, and it did nothing to help my yeast infection!! It caused the sides of my tongue to swell and caused it to burn and be very sore. I got checked twice for every single STD! All negative! It caused me to break out in hives and I'm still experiencing symptoms of allergic reaction, including dry mouth and slightly swollen lump nodes under my arms! The worst medication on the market! The side effects of this medicine are not even listed! I believe I’m going to sue the company for lack of knowledge of reactions! Be very cautious of this medicine before taking! It's an absolute nightmare for me!!"

For Coccidioidomycosis "After 7 months at 400 mg per day, Dr. took me off it because my liver was at 1100, could not breathe, heart rate of 170 BPM, blood pressure 170 over 120, heart damage, and they were telling me I might need a heart transplant. Spent 4 days in the hospital, rash all over feet and sore."

For Tinea Versicolor "Had toenail rot and hives on neck and back for 30 years. Diflucan worked for both. I must have had a fungal infection on my neck and back that I was allergic to. Now the fungal infection is gone, the hives have gone!"

For Candidemia "As others have also previously reported here, I too had used this medication prior with no reactions. However, in 2020, I had an anaphylactic reaction to this medication that included hives all over my torso, neck, and swelling of my throat. I had to self-admit to the emergency room and get put on IV to get the swelling down and reverse these severe reactions. Certainly, NOT impressed that the company does NOT list these as possible side effects at all! They must've changed something in this medication to cause so many to react to it. DO NOT TAKE THIS!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I've been prescribed the fluconazole on 3 separate occasions over the past year. More recently, I was also prescribed oral Metronidazole twice a day for 7 days and told to take Diflucan over the same period every 3 days. Well, I developed a super itchy rash all over my arms, which spread to my trunk and legs the more I kept taking the Metronidazole. I went to urgent care and was told to stop the Metronidazole and given a shot to help with the rash. It went down almost immediately. Since they didn't say to stop the fluconazole, I took my next dose and lo and behold, I'm an itchy mess again. I realized that although to a lesser degree, this rash has been present the other times I've taken it also, but mainly on my legs."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have taken Canesten's fluconazole one-day pill, 150 mg many times before. Now in my late 20s, it seems I have developed an allergic reaction to this drug. I took it two months ago, and it only made my symptoms worse, in addition to sores on my tongue. I didn't think much of it and took it again two days ago to treat another YI. This time, what I experienced last time came back worse, with itching, burning, and rashes in my hands/fingers. Two of my fingers swelled up so bad that I went to the ER to check it out. They didn't seem to believe that I was allergic to the medication and diagnosed me with dactylitis (sausage fingers, lol). But I know my body better and know this was because of the fluconazole, and it seems I'm not the only one. I'm on day two, and the swelling has subsided a bit but has formed into large blisters on my fingers. Itching and redness are still present, my tongue is still sore, and my outer vagina is still irritated. This pill is awful."

Fluconazole for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Personally, this drug gives me a fixed drug eruption in the form of a huge, round rash on one of my breasts that is intensively itchy and burns. It feels like a horrible sunburn. Therefore, I am clearly not a fan."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Would never recommend!! I’ve always taken Canesten for yeast infections, and they work, so I tried this pill, and I’m left with swollen, bruised, and patchy cracked lips. I have hives and welts all over my body, and my entire mouth is sore! AND it didn’t even help my yeast infection one bit, it got itchier!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I was given the oral pill because my partner and I had thrush symptoms. Half an hour after taking it, my penis was burning. Twelve hours later, I am still in too much pain to think about anything else. I have swollen skin and a rash in different parts of my body, and one has grown into a blood blister. I would think twice before giving this to a boyfriend, as there have to be better ways to get rid of thrush. The pain is going down a bit, so I feel a bit better, but it is still very painful. I am drinking water and hoping it will pass soon!!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I'm not entirely sure why I am having such a hard time clearing up my yeast infection this time. This is now my 4th pill (after taking 3 of the 150 mg over the course of 3 weeks). I typically don't suffer from burning, itching, rashes...but the cottage cheese discharge is terrible. I took my 4th dose last night, it was 100 mg, and was expecting to not have any discharge this morning. Welp...still see it. It's not as much, but mid-day, wiped...still cottage cheese discharge. I am comforted by the ladies here saying it does take a few days. Just wondering why I've had to take so many this time and still not cured."
