For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Be patient, it does take a few days for the symptoms to clear, but after about 4 days, you should see improvement. There is a topical cream your doctor can provide that helps with burning and itching. To ease pain, soak in cool water frequently... But it may take up to 7 days to clear."

Fluconazole for Vaginal Yeast Infection "So I've taken this medicine in the past (prone to yeast but now cutting back on sugar consumption, finally caught on). I want to say as of 2017 some ingredient had to change with this medication. Took it in the fall of 2017, the following day my lip itches and turns red. Took it in January 2018, the following day my lip itched, turned red, and actually scabbed up as well as part of my cheek. Got tested, everything came out clear. Started thinking it could've been the medicine at that time but wasn't sure. Now it's July, I took the one-time pill again, woke up the next morning, and guess whose lip and cheek was red... It lasts a few days & literally happens in the same spot each time... has anyone else noticed a change taking this?"

Fluconazole for Vaginal Yeast Infection "It is unbelievable how wonderful this medicine is for yeast infections! I went to the doctor for a urinary tract infection and also had symptoms of redness, burning, itching, and swelling. It was the worst ever! Took 1 pill and already noticed results in just a few hours! It is a miracle."

Fluconazole for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I was diagnosed with a yeast infection for the first time yesterday morning after 2 days of discomfort. My vulva was swollen, sore, and itchy, and my vagina was extremely sore and burned slightly. After I saw cottage cheese-like discharge in my underwear yesterday morning, I decided it was time to take action and went to my doctor. I was given one pill (150 mg dose of Diflucan) by my doctor. I took the pill around 10:30 am, and later last night I began to feel relief! This morning around 7 am, I woke up feeling almost 100% relieved! Not even a full 24 hours, and this medicine gave me relief! I can still feel slight itching a little bit throughout my day, but I'm sure in a couple of days I'll be back to normal and yeast infection-free by Tuesday!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Fluconazole is the BEST and ONLY drug that cures vaginal (and anal) yeast infections! I recently had to be prescribed antibiotics for a sinus infection, so I already knew I would get a yeast infection because I always do whenever I have to take antibiotics. Fluconazole gives me a lot of relief. What many people may not know is that antibiotics can cause other medical issues to develop while taking them, such as diarrhea, nausea, stomach cramps, excessive gas, yeast infections, etc. Taking antibiotics this time resulted in me having a vaginal and anal yeast infection. I hate itching worse than being in pain! Thankfully, Fluconazole, hydrocortisone cream, and Benadryl always give me the needed relief when I deal with yeast infections. This was the first time that I developed anal yeast with very intense itching. Fluconazole is a life saver and I highly recommend this drug instead of OTC treatments to get rid of yeast!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Diflucan works wonders for me! It is the best choice for a yeast infection. I've had frequent UTIs since giving birth and I always get a yeast infection after taking antibiotics. Diflucan works very well and the relief starts within a day or two. The downside to this medication is the itching gets more intense as the medicine works, usually, this happens between day 1 and 2. I wish that this product was available over the counter, but it is indeed a great product for yeast infections, whether the infection is mild or severe. I even took this while I was pregnant. But if I can remember correctly, if you are pregnant, you are not supposed to take Diflucan more than once."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I am extremely prone to yeast infections, particularly with any antibiotic use. The medication took 3 days to clear up the infection when used in conjunction with Monistat 3; however, the redness, irritation, and extreme itching remained to the point where I could not sit still. I read on another forum that using a generous amount of zinc oxide cream would help. I was desperate to try anything, and it truly did the trick! It provided instant relief, and I just had to share this with others who may be experiencing the same symptoms. Forget using those anti-itch creams that come with Monistat! Use the zinc oxide instead, and you will save yourself the agony. Be sure that you clean and dry the area first before applying the zinc cream. Works wonders!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I was suffering from vaginal thrush for the last year. I tried all over-the-counter medicine, home remedies, and a strict diet, nothing worked for me. My GP sent me to a gynecologist, and she put me on boric acid pessaries every month for 15 days and fluconazole 150 mg every week. I took fluconazole for more than a year, but nothing worked for me. The itch was so bad all the time, no one understood me. I was in pain. Then I went to a new GP, and I explained everything to her. She put me on fluconazole 50 mg daily for 8 weeks. It was the best decision of my life. Slowly, day by day, my symptoms went away, and finally, I am now thrush-free! I can’t believe it, it’s really a good treatment. Fluconazole 150 mg only works if you have thrush once, but in my case, being severe, we needed regular dosage. Thanks."

Fluconazole for Vaginal Yeast Infection "This worked great for me. Before taking the pill, I was itching and burning and had discharge. I was so embarrassed because I had never had one before. I also started to develop ulcers in my mouth, so the infection actually reached my mouth since it went untreated for 3 weeks. I was prescribed Diflucan. I took it on Friday, by Sunday, I started to feel better. On Sunday, I took the second pill. It is now Tuesday and my tongue ulcers are healing, my tonsils have gone down. The itching and burning stopped, but the irritation is still there whenever I wash my vagina with soap or wear certain panties."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have issues with yeast infections, and I took one pill Monday night and the second Wednesday night. Every symptom went away except for the itching! I can't stand it anymore. It's now Thursday, and I'm still itching, not as bad but still. This medication has always worked for me before, and all symptoms were gone in two days... not this time. I'm still itching."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "So, was prescribed this for a vaginal yeast infection from antibiotics. Had to take 150 mg 1st day, then another 3 days later. After 30 mins of taking it, dizziness, nausea, headache hit me. An hour later, whole body started to itch, eyes, nose, ears, tongue, throat, extreme itching and burning, itching & prickling in the anus, can't sit or lie down. Dunno if it is an allergic reaction. Next day, bad stomach & tummy cramps, bloating, gas, sweating, a bit of diarrhea, fatigue, mood swings, dp feelings, loss of appetite, cough, chest pain, flu symptoms, throat is tingling and can't eat a damn thing without choking. Literally dunno what to do. My vag is now in co-ma. Discharge went away, the itching and irritation are still there, & I'm in a lot of pain, the yeast infection is still there. Will not take the 2nd pill. Had I known the side effects, I would have flushed this pill in the toilet. I could have just cured the yeast infection naturally with a diet, probiotics, or old-fashioned Monistat."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Had a vaginal yeast infection for three days until I finally made up my mind to head to the clinic. I was diagnosed with a vaginal yeast infection and was prescribed 150 mg of fluconazole (Diflucan). An hour after taking the pill, my symptoms ceased to a minimum. However, the itchiness and burning sensation still lasted for around two days before it finally resolved."

Fluconazole for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I took a single dose of Diflucan a few days ago after developing an agonizing yeast infection, thanks to a round of antibiotics, coupled with an allergic reaction to a product I had used called Yeastaway (never again!). Once the Diflucan kicked in - boy, did it work - it was like night and day. By the hour, the swelling, itching, and discharge were going down. I went from pure itching hell (tearing apart the freezer looking for something to ease the agony) the night before to a calm, restful night the following day. I've never noticed any negative physical side effects. My only frustration was that this took 2.5 solid days to start working... topical creams made me itch more, and I started to wonder if the Diflucan would ever work at all."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I was prescribed this after finishing the 7-day Monistat and still had symptoms of itching, dry skin, red coloration of the skin, and mild burning. I think it was a combination of the Monistat drying the skin of my labia majora and still having a yeast infection. I took the pill for fluconazole and didn't really notice big changes until day 2. By day 2, I started having a lot of white thick discharge, and itching went down. Redness didn't start fading until the 3rd day. To keep myself from wanting to itch and moisturize my dry skin, I did use cortisone cream on my labia majora. I'm still on day 3 and still notice my labia minora is sensitive to touch. What I suggest when taking the pill is to drink plenty of water, change your underwear often, or don't wear any at all. Let your vagina breathe! Yeast love warm, moist environments, so not having any fabric covering it will help a lot."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I was prescribed the pill a week ago. Stopped the itch, but started having discharge every day, doesn’t smell or anything yellow/light green. Not sure why I have a discharge when I never had a discharge before taking this pill, only the itch."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I've had the yeast infection from hell. Finally, I went to the doctor and got Diflucan. I am on my second pill with a 7-day regimen. Almost no itching, and I'm starting to feel so much better! Also, a little tip: Orajel has worked much better for the itching and pain than anything meant for the vagina. My doctor recommended this. Who knew? :)"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I took the pill Tuesday night, felt somewhat relieved on Wednesday night, but had slight irritation and itch, however, there was no more discharge. I recommend you try to keep the area clean and dry. It really helps to always towel dry after every shower with a separate clean towel."

Fluconazole for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Whenever I have a urinary tract infection, a yeast infection is sure to follow, and this time, instead of buying the 3-day treatment of Canesten that you insert inside (which has always worked well the first day), I tried the one pill. No side effects. However, my vagina is still itchy, burning, and rubbing it no longer provides any relief anymore. Going back to the doctor, hoping for something stronger."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I get yeast infections when I drink a lot of wine. It usually works with a mild infection if you take it upon first notice within 48 to 72 hours. But I feel relief in the first 24 hours. I also use baby diaper rash cream to relieve itching. This works like a dream. Desitin is the best. Just the regular strength. Immediate relief! The pill does the rest. If you let it get too severe, take 2 pills 2 to 5 days apart. That works in 3 to 5 days. Abstain from alcohol and food high in sugar, such as soda and sweets. If the Diflucan doesn't offer relief in 2 to 3 days, you might have vaginitis, a bacterial infection which sometimes seems like a yeast infection and requires a different medication. Call your doctor."

Fluconazole for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have been prescribed Diflucan in the past for yeast infections and it worked wonderfully. Overnight relief. I have been prescribed this generic form the last few times I've had a yeast infection and find that it does not work nearly as well for me. Currently on day 5 after taking a single dose, and I am still having itching and redness."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I'm not entirely sure why I am having such a hard time clearing up my yeast infection this time. This is now my 4th pill (after taking 3 of the 150 mg over the course of 3 weeks). I typically don't suffer from burning, itching, rashes...but the cottage cheese discharge is terrible. I took my 4th dose last night, it was 100 mg, and was expecting to not have any discharge this morning. Welp...still see it. It's not as much, but mid-day, wiped...still cottage cheese discharge. I am comforted by the ladies here saying it does take a few days. Just wondering why I've had to take so many this time and still not cured."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "So I had a pretty bad yeast infection. I was itchy, and my lady bits were bright red. I mean, it REALLY itched and I had pain. The only time I couldn't feel the symptoms was if I was laying in bed. I took fluconazole on a Saturday afternoon. Upon waking the next morning, my symptoms seemed to be cut in half, still irritated though, itchy, and uncomfortable. Each day after, symptoms seemed to be cut in half again. Tuesday I was feeling much better, and it is now Wednesday, and I feel great. This definitely worked for me. So glad I didn't have to take Monistat since that burns my insides! Those who are experiencing side effects, I can only guess with fluconazole you do not actually have a yeast infection and the pill is trying to fight something that isn't there. Probably a different issue, maybe bacterial? This pill definitely worked for me, and I am HAPPY and back to feeling like my normal self again."

Fluconazole for Candida Urinary Tract Infection "Okay, umm... I was diagnosed with candida in 2014 and was given different antifungals, which seemed to work for the meantime. Then, in 2015, I had a reinfection, symptoms were similar to the last one. So, Diflucan was recommended: 150 mg single dose and ketoconazole cream. On taking the single dose of Diflucan, I got a lot better after 3 hours, it was such a relief. The itching, burning, and inflammation stopped. This is 2020, and I am currently on another dose, and it's working perfectly... I recommend this drug 100%."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I’ve had bacterial vaginosis 3 times, so when I headed into the gyno with a sore vagina, we both assumed my sensitive inner pH meant BV again. She started me on a hefty antibiotic suppository, and my itching became unbearable. 5 days later when I couldn’t sit down due to the burning, she let me know my test results had just come in. Apparently, we’d been treating a yeast infection with an antibiotic medication that typically causes yeast infections, making it into Godzilla of Yeast. She prescribed two 150 mg pills to be taken 2 days apart. Never having had a yeast infection before, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Within a few hours of the first pill, the itching was almost gone. What I wasn’t prepared for is the next morning finding a shocking amount of the watery cottage cheese discharge everyone describes, which I hadn’t experienced before. I hope/assume that means it’s working and the yeast is being expelled as it dies(?). I had no side effects, am symptom-free, and thrilled today."
