For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Fluconazole is the BEST and ONLY drug that cures vaginal (and anal) yeast infections! I recently had to be prescribed antibiotics for a sinus infection, so I already knew I would get a yeast infection because I always do whenever I have to take antibiotics. Fluconazole gives me a lot of relief. What many people may not know is that antibiotics can cause other medical issues to develop while taking them, such as diarrhea, nausea, stomach cramps, excessive gas, yeast infections, etc. Taking antibiotics this time resulted in me having a vaginal and anal yeast infection. I hate itching worse than being in pain! Thankfully, Fluconazole, hydrocortisone cream, and Benadryl always give me the needed relief when I deal with yeast infections. This was the first time that I developed anal yeast with very intense itching. Fluconazole is a life saver and I highly recommend this drug instead of OTC treatments to get rid of yeast!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I had a moderate vaginal yeast infection, and it was the first sort of thing like that I've ever had. I went into the University wellness center to be checked out, and was offered 2 options: a three-time creme and vaginal suppository treatment, or a one-time orally ingested antibiotic. I chose the method that was least... itchy, the pill. I've nothing but good reviews for the medicine. It was convenient, being a one-and-done thing. It was effective - experienced some relief within 24-36 hours of taking it, was completely relieved within 4-5 days. A week later, the yeast infection appeared to be near completely gone. I had almost no side effects other than some very mild nausea shortly after ingestion. Would take again if need be."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "So, was prescribed this for a vaginal yeast infection from antibiotics. Had to take 150 mg 1st day, then another 3 days later. After 30 mins of taking it, dizziness, nausea, headache hit me. An hour later, whole body started to itch, eyes, nose, ears, tongue, throat, extreme itching and burning, itching & prickling in the anus, can't sit or lie down. Dunno if it is an allergic reaction. Next day, bad stomach & tummy cramps, bloating, gas, sweating, a bit of diarrhea, fatigue, mood swings, dp feelings, loss of appetite, cough, chest pain, flu symptoms, throat is tingling and can't eat a damn thing without choking. Literally dunno what to do. My vag is now in co-ma. Discharge went away, the itching and irritation are still there, & I'm in a lot of pain, the yeast infection is still there. Will not take the 2nd pill. Had I known the side effects, I would have flushed this pill in the toilet. I could have just cured the yeast infection naturally with a diet, probiotics, or old-fashioned Monistat."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "After taking fluconazole for 4 months at varied strengths, it was apparent it wasn’t working, the side effects are horrid, and I found that even at 50 mg, I was still feeling extremely queasy on them. Also note, they do contain lactose, which can upset your digestive system if sensitive. Anyway, after many trips to the GP, gynecologist, and gum clinic, it was then decided to check the strain of yeast I had - turns out I don’t have the normal albicans but instead glabrata, which is highly resistant to azole medications. So for anyone taking fluconazole, and it’s not working, get them to check the strain you have, as maybe it’s just a resistant strain. Ten months on, and I'm only just able to get the medication needed to beat this beast: nystatin."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "This medication is not a joke, I kid you not. I was able to take only 2 of 3 prescribed pills of 150 mg of this chemical for a very bad vaginal yeast infection brought on by antibiotic use, and I regret that I took this. One single pill caused pounding headaches, extreme nausea, tachycardia, chills, cold and hot flushes, profuse sweating, depression, explosive diarrhea, no appetite, fatigue, pale skin, dizziness, chest tightness, panic attacks, mental confusion, and nightmares. I felt like I was in a living nightmare or in a horror movie. That said, it did not even touch my burning, itchy, and violently discharging vagina. Even more, my vagina felt numb on this pill, and no sexual pleasure, even my poor boyfriend started to think that I was going to have a normal vagina and enjoy sex. I will never take this chemical again in my system. Now taking Candex with a probiotic and a yeast-free diet seems to be working. Hoping to bring my vagina into this world again."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I never write reviews for things online because I usually feel like it's a waste of time. I got a yeast infection about a week ago (Monday 2/1/16) and finally went in to my doctor to get something to treat it on Thursday (2/4/16). My doctor gave me the one-time pill fluconazole and I went online to look at reviews. I was terrified to take the fluconazole because there were so many bad reviews! People saying that they had terrible nausea, vomiting, diarrhea.... I prepared for the worst. But the worst never came! I might have had slight nausea after about 24 hours, but that's really it. Instead, it started to take effect and the itchiness began wearing off. Today, 2/8/16, I am completely free of itching. Fluconazole is great!"

Fluconazole for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I got one Diflucan pill to take, which I thought at first was a waste of money, but it works GREAT. The discharge and smell changed after 1 day! There were no side effects, no headaches, nausea, pain, etc. Highly recommend!"

Fluconazole for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Took antibiotics and got a yeast infection, went to the Drs, they prescribed Monistat 3. Took it for the 3 days, still was experiencing a lot of itching and burning. Went back to the Drs, she prescribed the one-dose pill. Took it Thursday afternoon, felt nausea, had headaches, and stomach aches (side effects), but helped with the burning pain by the next day. It's now Sunday, and the itching, burning, and pain are back. Going back to the Drs tomorrow for the 3rd time in 2 and a half weeks. So want this to go away. Feeling like I need to get a second opinion."

For Fungal Infection, Internal and Disseminated "Took this fluconazole for systemic fungal infection. Took half the dose, 50 mg, and hours later I had a rash on my cheeks and felt like I was hit with the worst flu I’ve ever had. Extreme fatigue, chills, dizziness, nausea. Was asleep at night and woke up with an extreme panic attack and anxiety, and I’m not an anxious person whatsoever and have had no issues prior with this. It felt like I was seriously not going to survive. I stopped taking it, and 3 days later, almost back to normal. I never write reviews, but be careful with this stuff!"

For Candida Urinary Tract Infection "I was prescribed fluconazole 150 mg for a Candida urinary tract infection and also oral thrush. It has caused terrible side effects such as chest pains, chest discomfort, panic attacks, anxiety, side pains (lower left above hip & upper right under rib), dizziness, lightheadedness, pale skin (I look like a vampire), constant nausea but no vomiting, lower back pain, vaginal burning. I hope this med leaves my body soon because I feel like a walking zombie with lots of pain. It's actually causing my fibromyalgia to flare up like crazy, so more pain for me, yay. I will never take fluconazole ever again! Even if my life depended on it. Oh, I also stayed up all night with chest pain hoping that it would go away, but then it caused the panic attack because I thought I was going to die on this pill. Never again!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Was prescribed 2 doses of this pill. After taking the first dose, I had some nausea, which subsided after 20 minutes, then I was all sweaty and cold. After taking the second dose, my stomach was cramping horribly, I was drowsy and had nausea. I have never experienced any side effects before, so it was pretty scary."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Before I took the medication, my vagina wasn't burning. Within 20 minutes, I could feel my vagina burning, then it stopped. Then the burning would start up again. It happened like maybe 3 times. A few hours after taking this drug, my body felt like it was on fire. Suddenly, I felt nauseated and wanted to throw up, but I didn't. The next morning, I felt so relieved and itch-free. No burning either. I am currently on Day 5, and I took 150 mg with one pill. It seems to be working, but will confirm after seeing OB/GYN."

For Esophageal Candidiasis "I was so scared of this one-dose pill because of some of these reviews that I almost talked myself out of taking it despite desperately needing it. So glad I took it! I ended up cutting it in half, took one around 8:30 a.m., experienced some nausea which could have turned to vomiting if I had anything in my stomach. Took the next at noon, experienced some random mild belly cramping - nothing unbearable. It's now almost 6 p.m. and I've got a very mild headache with some random light itching. Absolutely nothing major, and the best news ever is I finally got to eat without choking! I'll update if anything significant happens, otherwise... Just take the pill. You've got it because you need it. I've also been taking Nystatin 4x daily with it and am normally very anti-medication/Dr. Phobic/side effect sensitive. Don't let reviews upset you. Some of them sound exaggerated anyway."

Fluconazole for Esophageal Candidiasis "I was prescribed Diflucan in the ER for an over-the-moon sore throat I had had for 2 weeks—100 mg for 30 days. The side effects are terrible. It was approximately 2 weeks into the prescription that I began noticing just how truly weak I was. Dizziness is not the best description. More like brain fog + really severe confusion? Being too weak to walk a straight line. My depth perception is severely out of whack. I have fallen on stairs 3 times since starting this awful med. The dry skin started right off the bat. The skin on my face and neck is drying out and sloughing off like dandruff. I have a painful lip crack, moisturizer can’t beat out Diflucan. I’m constipated, I have 7 days to go. I’m going to have to muscle through it. While having vertigo, stumbling around on shaky legs, constipated, with a split lip, and no appetite whatsoever because I’m so nauseous. I do not recommend this medication at all. For me, it’s necessary. Just 7 more days of pure misery."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I had the worst experience of my life taking this drug! I was prescribed this for a yeast infection and have been in and out of the hospital for the past four days with excessive diarrhea, vomiting, nausea, and severe fatigue! I had black diarrhea and terrible body aches. I’m only just now able to eat rice and chicken broth!! It is awful, awful, awful. Ladies, go to Walmart and get the VH suppositories or pills instead. Take/insert once weekly and it’ll be gone! No side effects with those as it’s all natural!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I developed thrush after taking antibiotics and was prescribed fluconazole, a single dose. As advised, I waited 24 hours after taking my last antibiotic before taking the fluconazole tablet on Saturday. Felt fine Saturday and Sunday and thought I'd escaped without any side effects. Turned out I was very wrong! On Monday, I suddenly started feeling nauseous, dizzy, and had a headache, no energy, and diarrhea. Spent most of the day lying down. That was 12 days ago, and I am still suffering symptoms of diarrhea, abdominal and back pain, mild headache, and very low energy levels. The thrush took some time to go, and I had various other side effects in the vulval and vaginal region, which, fortunately, have now gone. I am 69 years old and suffer from both IBS and CFS/ME, and this drug has clearly exacerbated both to such a degree it is significantly limiting what I can do. No way should I have been prescribed this drug, and I certainly would never take it again."

Fluconazole for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I've taken this as needed over the years without any problem. This time, I had nausea, diarrhea, and dizziness. Our pharmacy gives a printout of all the possible side effects, and it says you can be allergic to it (as most drugs). I guess it just depends on the person on how much you need and how your body will react. It takes more than one dose for me."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "So I initially got the yeast infection due to many antibiotics and medication after a car accident. It was unbearable, and I ignored it for a month, in which it worsened. I decided to try Monistat 7, which was a remedy that was painful but worked wonderfully until I started taking my antibiotics again. I experienced some mild itching and immediately went to my OB/GYN. She prescribed two doses of 150 mg fluconazole. I took one yesterday around 10 AM and was fine during the day. At night, I felt like there was some mild irritation in that region, so leftover cream from the Monistat 7 was used. Today, I took it around 3 PM, and it made me quite nauseous, but I am experiencing no further itching or irritation. Hopefully, it will be gone for good!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "This medicine works quickly. After taking the first pill, I swear I felt better in the first couple of hours. At the same time, take a week off because you will have explosive diarrhea, a headache, and the first day you will have flu-like symptoms (i.e., chills, nausea, fatigue, stomach ache, etc.). I slept the entire day and night, and each time I woke up, I went to the toilet to pee out of my bottom - yep, diarrhea. I also had no appetite at all, so I drank water the entire time. Talk about feeling/being bloated! Three days later I took my second pill, and the madness began all over again. My advice: Don’t do what I did. I took Amoxicillin (for pneumonia), which also gave me diarrhea for ten days; the Amoxicillin gave me a yeast infection, and I have to take Diflucan. We have to take better care of ourselves."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Terrible experience with this medication. I only took one pill. It did clear up my yeast infection, but the side effects were harsh. I’m prone to migraines, and it made me have some of the worst migraines I’ve ever had. I panicked about my head, which led my anxiety to skyrocket and had a panic attack. I didn’t eat much because I was nauseous. For some reason, I broke out with pimples - has this happened to anyone else? I wasn’t close to my period or anything, so it’s not normal for me to experience. The only time I felt better is when I was sleeping. Basically just trying to wait it out until it was out of my system."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I had an operation on my wrist, which was packed with antibiotics. These gave me a yeast infection, my first ever. The surgeon prescribed 2 doses of this. I had a horrible allergic reaction to it! About 4 hours after taking the first dose, my neck, chest, and 1/2 of my face were covered in an itchy burning rash. The Doc just said to take Benadryl and still take the other pill! Just let me say, having the pain from surgery, then the misery of a yeast infection, and adding to that my entire upper body in a burning rash (plus the anti-pain meds made me nauseous), it was a bad week of HELL. The rash took a week to go away, and Benadryl didn't help it at all. So beware of the side effect!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I had BV and was prescribed Metronidazole. Was on that for a week and took my last dose Wednesday night. Thursday morning (yesterday) I took the Fluconazole pill. Today (Friday) I see more discharge. While I took the Metronidazole pill, the discharge was clearing up, but now it's back. It's red, so I can't even tell if it's because of the pill color or because blood is mixed in it. When I took the Fluconazole, it made me very nauseous, and I had diarrhea not even 10 minutes later. My stomach is cramping, and I don't know what from. My period went off earlier this week, so I know it can't be from that. Anyway, both prescriptions made me sick to my stomach, and I don't feel like they were very effective. I'll wait until Monday to see if it's completely gone."

For Oral Thrush "Took the one dose for thrush in my mouth. Within the hour, I threw some of it up. 24 hours later, I ended up with red (tomato red skin) and itching and rash all up my arms, over my belly and neck. Been drinking water, had a bath (which helped calm the rash a bit), and now trying to ward off a panic attack. Horrible, horrible experience. I would have rather dealt with the thrush... hoping this med leaves my body soon."

For Esophageal Candidiasis "After being sick for a whole month, every test came back negative that you could think of. Finally got admitted to the hospital, and after endoscopy, found esophagus fungus. Took 200 mg of Diflucan for 14 days, which I made it to the last pill due to the horrible side effects of nausea, sick to stomach, massive headache, itching, rapid heart rate, tremors, lost taste for everything, anxiety that I have not ever had before, stomach and body pains, brain fog, dizzy. Called the GI doctor on call, and he said to stop taking the medication, then I got a letter in the mail to take 100 mg for 21 days. With these side effects, no way. But I went ahead and took 150 mg of the one I had left, and NO WAY would I ever take this again, so they called in another antifungal that was going to cost 400.00, which I have no insurance. Plus, the pharmacy said since I had these reactions, another may do the same because of the class of drugs. Can't wait for this to leave my system."

Fluconazole for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I took Diflucan years ago for a yeast infection—got rid of it quickly and efficiently with no side effects! Fast forward to this year. I had a major yeast infection, took Diflucan but this time had multiple weird side effects, including: peeling/swollen lips (with ulcers on the inside), nausea/vomiting, terrible stomach pains and diarrhea, heart palpitations, itchy throat, and increased vaginal and anal irritation. I even developed hemorrhoids for the first time in my life, and I attribute it all to this drug. I think it severely irritated my mucous membranes and then this was only worsened by coupled chronic diarrhea I was having. Be really careful taking this drug... it’s no joke."
