For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Fluconazole caused side effects of drowsiness, stomach ache, diarrhea, confusion, dizziness, panic attack, fast heartbeat, chills, all in less than 24 hours of taking this 150 mg one-dose pill. I will never accept this antifungal in my body again."

Fluconazole for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I originally had a UTI and was prescribed antibiotics for 5 days. About two days later, I started itching, and the doctor prescribed me this drug. I kid you not, I was so dizzy I thought I was going to fall over. It didn't matter if I was standing up or sitting down. The dizziness was horrible. Oh, I only had one dose of it, and I'm still itching like crazy."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "This medication is not a joke, I kid you not. I was able to take only 2 of 3 prescribed pills of 150 mg of this chemical for a very bad vaginal yeast infection brought on by antibiotic use, and I regret that I took this. One single pill caused pounding headaches, extreme nausea, tachycardia, chills, cold and hot flushes, profuse sweating, depression, explosive diarrhea, no appetite, fatigue, pale skin, dizziness, chest tightness, panic attacks, mental confusion, and nightmares. I felt like I was in a living nightmare or in a horror movie. That said, it did not even touch my burning, itchy, and violently discharging vagina. Even more, my vagina felt numb on this pill, and no sexual pleasure, even my poor boyfriend started to think that I was going to have a normal vagina and enjoy sex. I will never take this chemical again in my system. Now taking Candex with a probiotic and a yeast-free diet seems to be working. Hoping to bring my vagina into this world again."

For Oral Thrush "Stay away from this crap! 11 days ago, I took 1 pill, and ever since, I've been having severe dizziness. I wish I would've just thrown it up. Better yet, I wish someone would've warned me about this. Now, I'm here, crying, wondering when it will end. Pray for me."

Fluconazole for Esophageal Candidiasis "ShugarCookie. This medicine cleared up my infection in 3 days. So, 10 for efficacy. Solid 0 with regard to side effects. It's like a vision quest! I made it through 25 days of these 100 mg demons...when I landed in the hospital with dangerously low blood serum sodium. The side effects are over the moon. I had sour stomach, loss of coordination, loss of sleep and appetite, constipation, rapid heartbeat, weakness, dizziness, and possible seizures, tremors, jumpiness, confusion. There is no way I could drive a car on this. This pill will chew you up and spit you out. But it cleared up my esophageal thrush in no time flat. I'm not sure if 30 days is overkill or not. I couldn't tolerate it from the first week! Maybe I'm allergic to it, as my upper lip is split since I began the course? Don't be me and ignore the side effects and end up in the emergency room."

Fluconazole for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Warning: Do not take if you have heart problems unless your doctor knows and you specifically asked about these problems. I took it and felt okay. About two hours after taking the medication, I got dizzy, weak, and had chest pains that changed with breathing. After about two more hours, I started to feel better. After sleeping, I now only have residual chest pain when I breathe. I have an irregular heartbeat and a condition that makes the muscles in between my ribs spasm and cause chest pain similar to this. My doctor knows this, and everywhere I look, you’re not supposed to prescribe this to someone with heartbeat problems."

For Oral Thrush "This is only my second day of taking the 100 mg Diflucan for oral thrush, so yesterday I took 1. Woke up this morning with very bad vertigo. Had to take Dramamine. I just took my second tablet. Hope this vertigo goes away and praying this thrush goes away, this is absolutely awful."

For Fungal Infection, Internal and Disseminated "Took this fluconazole for systemic fungal infection. Took half the dose, 50 mg, and hours later I had a rash on my cheeks and felt like I was hit with the worst flu I’ve ever had. Extreme fatigue, chills, dizziness, nausea. Was asleep at night and woke up with an extreme panic attack and anxiety, and I’m not an anxious person whatsoever and have had no issues prior with this. It felt like I was seriously not going to survive. I stopped taking it, and 3 days later, almost back to normal. I never write reviews, but be careful with this stuff!"

For Candida Urinary Tract Infection "I was prescribed fluconazole 150 mg for a Candida urinary tract infection and also oral thrush. It has caused terrible side effects such as chest pains, chest discomfort, panic attacks, anxiety, side pains (lower left above hip & upper right under rib), dizziness, lightheadedness, pale skin (I look like a vampire), constant nausea but no vomiting, lower back pain, vaginal burning. I hope this med leaves my body soon because I feel like a walking zombie with lots of pain. It's actually causing my fibromyalgia to flare up like crazy, so more pain for me, yay. I will never take fluconazole ever again! Even if my life depended on it. Oh, I also stayed up all night with chest pain hoping that it would go away, but then it caused the panic attack because I thought I was going to die on this pill. Never again!"

For Oral Thrush "The first time I took fluconazole, I experienced diarrhea and dizziness often (was on it for several months due to oral thrush as a result of too much antibiotics and a weakened immune system). The second time I took it, my side effects were completely different (again was on it due to oral thrush and a weak immune system). Had diarrhea for only 1 day, and only felt dizzy once. But I started breaking out severely on the T-zone of my face with severely painful cystic acne. I was only on the medication for 5 days, and I broke out so much! I realized by the 3rd day that the reason I was breaking out was due to the fluconazole. It takes about a week after finishing the medication for it to completely flush out of the body. Horrible experience, had to call out from work as a result. It took me months to recover from the cystic scars. Always be cautious of what you take and how your body reacts to medication! I learned that the hard way."

Fluconazole for Fungal Infection, Internal and Disseminated "I was prescribed 150 mg of Diflucan, take 1 pill a day for 7 days. Day 2, I started feeling weird. I feel like I have the body flu almost, and I'm dizzy. I stopped taking it, so I'm hoping these symptoms go away. I'm on it for a fungal infection I got from an antibiotic."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "This medicine works every time with no problem, but for some reason, the last time I took it, I got really lightheaded and dizzy. I got overheated and felt as if I couldn't breathe. I went to bed, and when I woke up, I was better, and the yeast infection was gone."

Fluconazole for Esophageal Candidiasis "I was prescribed Diflucan in the ER for an over-the-moon sore throat I had had for 2 weeks—100 mg for 30 days. The side effects are terrible. It was approximately 2 weeks into the prescription that I began noticing just how truly weak I was. Dizziness is not the best description. More like brain fog + really severe confusion? Being too weak to walk a straight line. My depth perception is severely out of whack. I have fallen on stairs 3 times since starting this awful med. The dry skin started right off the bat. The skin on my face and neck is drying out and sloughing off like dandruff. I have a painful lip crack, moisturizer can’t beat out Diflucan. I’m constipated, I have 7 days to go. I’m going to have to muscle through it. While having vertigo, stumbling around on shaky legs, constipated, with a split lip, and no appetite whatsoever because I’m so nauseous. I do not recommend this medication at all. For me, it’s necessary. Just 7 more days of pure misery."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I developed thrush after taking antibiotics and was prescribed fluconazole, a single dose. As advised, I waited 24 hours after taking my last antibiotic before taking the fluconazole tablet on Saturday. Felt fine Saturday and Sunday and thought I'd escaped without any side effects. Turned out I was very wrong! On Monday, I suddenly started feeling nauseous, dizzy, and had a headache, no energy, and diarrhea. Spent most of the day lying down. That was 12 days ago, and I am still suffering symptoms of diarrhea, abdominal and back pain, mild headache, and very low energy levels. The thrush took some time to go, and I had various other side effects in the vulval and vaginal region, which, fortunately, have now gone. I am 69 years old and suffer from both IBS and CFS/ME, and this drug has clearly exacerbated both to such a degree it is significantly limiting what I can do. No way should I have been prescribed this drug, and I certainly would never take it again."

Fluconazole for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I've taken this as needed over the years without any problem. This time, I had nausea, diarrhea, and dizziness. Our pharmacy gives a printout of all the possible side effects, and it says you can be allergic to it (as most drugs). I guess it just depends on the person on how much you need and how your body will react. It takes more than one dose for me."

Fluconazole for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I'm telling you this medication is powerful, and it works, but I am giving it 5 out of 10, right in the middle, because it also has powerful side effects. There is no doubt in my mind it works well, but if you're very hypersensitive like me to medications, this one will knock you out. Meaning it's fighting the infection and doing its job, but it can be a very uncomfortable experience. When you have a severe internal infection and take medication like this, your body goes into overdrive helping the medicine work. I took only a quarter of a 150 mg tablet to let my body know what's happening, and wow, did just that make me so dizzy and just lay in bed like woah. But 12 hours later, took all the rest in small increments, and I'm all better, and it worked!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I had all the side effects listed for this medication. It was my first time using this drug. I took a 150 mg tablet, and I ended up with dizziness, diarrhea, and severe abdominal pain. I am on day 4 after taking it, and I still have lower abdominal pain from it. Please use caution!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Prescribed one pill for an infection, which I took this morning. Within thirty minutes of taking it, I was extremely dizzy, vomiting, and having heat flashes shooting down the inside of both arms. Frantic calls to the pharmacist and ER, and I was told to go in only if I had difficulty breathing. Four hours later and the symptoms have subsided."

For Tinea Versicolor "I was prescribed fluconazole for a skin rash caused by yeast. Instructed to take two 150 mg pills at the same time, and if the rash doesn’t clear, take the same dose a week later. Well, I did and had the worst reaction! Dizziness, diarrhea, dry mouth with an odd taste, racing heart, sweating/chills - I think I had an all-night anxiety attack. I’ve taken this med before with very little side effects, so I’m not sure what happened. It sounds like my experience is not uncommon. And my rash is still there..."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Had a terrible reaction. Took one dose on Aug 12th. Took 2 whole days to clear up the yeast infection, but then, 3 days after taking one 150 mg dose, I started having terrible burning pains in my stomach, esophagus, and intestines. I couldn’t sleep for three nights. The pains were on and off for 2 weeks. I first had constipation, then took Milk of Magnesia and had odd-looking diarrhea. It’s now Aug 29th, and I’m still having some pains, my eyes are a bit yellow, and I’ve been experiencing an occasional feeling of rapid heart rate and dizziness. I believe I may have had the liver-damaging reaction mentioned in the drug’s warnings. I wish I would have just taken over-the-counter cream instead or a natural remedy of yogurt. Not worth the side effects!!!"

"I am a male. I had balanitis at the same time as my partner's yeast infection outbreak. This included redness, itchiness of the penis head, and foreskin irritation. Treated for a yeast infection as my partner has had a recurring yeast infection. My partner just finished a 3-pill treatment (one pill taken every other day) and is cleared of infection. She had no side effects. I felt a tiny bit dizzy after taking it for a few hours and just a little spacey with a mild headache. A walk to the grocery store later, and I felt fine besides the mild headache. After sleeping that night, I feel fine and my penis seems to be in good order. I know a lot of people are gonna be scared reading all these alarming reviews, but at the end of the day, you won't know how you'll react until you've taken it. It doesn't matter how many people feel ill from it; they're NOT you. I reckon most people don't seek out drug reviews when they work, just when they're scared or when they have a bad reaction. Fluconazole is as likely to give you a bad reaction as Advil or Tylenol."

For Esophageal Candidiasis "After being sick for a whole month, every test came back negative that you could think of. Finally got admitted to the hospital, and after endoscopy, found esophagus fungus. Took 200 mg of Diflucan for 14 days, which I made it to the last pill due to the horrible side effects of nausea, sick to stomach, massive headache, itching, rapid heart rate, tremors, lost taste for everything, anxiety that I have not ever had before, stomach and body pains, brain fog, dizzy. Called the GI doctor on call, and he said to stop taking the medication, then I got a letter in the mail to take 100 mg for 21 days. With these side effects, no way. But I went ahead and took 150 mg of the one I had left, and NO WAY would I ever take this again, so they called in another antifungal that was going to cost 400.00, which I have no insurance. Plus, the pharmacy said since I had these reactions, another may do the same because of the class of drugs. Can't wait for this to leave my system."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "So, was prescribed this for a vaginal yeast infection from antibiotics. Had to take 150 mg 1st day, then another 3 days later. After 30 mins of taking it, dizziness, nausea, headache hit me. An hour later, whole body started to itch, eyes, nose, ears, tongue, throat, extreme itching and burning, itching & prickling in the anus, can't sit or lie down. Dunno if it is an allergic reaction. Next day, bad stomach & tummy cramps, bloating, gas, sweating, a bit of diarrhea, fatigue, mood swings, dp feelings, loss of appetite, cough, chest pain, flu symptoms, throat is tingling and can't eat a damn thing without choking. Literally dunno what to do. My vag is now in co-ma. Discharge went away, the itching and irritation are still there, & I'm in a lot of pain, the yeast infection is still there. Will not take the 2nd pill. Had I known the side effects, I would have flushed this pill in the toilet. I could have just cured the yeast infection naturally with a diet, probiotics, or old-fashioned Monistat."
