"This Blisovi Fe 1/20 pill was awful for me. I always took Microgestin but CVS switched me to this because it’s what they keep in stock. I assumed that since it’s a generic for the same birth control as Microgestin that everything would be fine. It took me a few months to realize it, but the switch to Blisovi was the cause for my awful hormonal acne breakouts and yeast infections! I had NEVER experienced a yeast infection before, but I had three within the 6 months I was on this pill. When I spoke to my doctor she told me that generics for name brand pills all have the same “active“ ingredients, but they have different “inactive” ingredients which explains why it affected me. Needless to say I switched back to Microgestin and it’s worth the headache of arguing with CVS to get it."

"I absolutely love this product and recommend to everyone. I know everyone's body is different, so it is not for everyone, but it is not the medicines fault. I have NO negative symptoms since I started this. I used to have heavy periods, terrible cramps and headaches, and my periods were super long. I now have super consistent 3-4 LIGHT periods, no cramps or headaches. I have been on this pill for over a year now and have no desire to switch."

"So if I could give zero starts I would. I was so excited for starting first time birth control, And doctor prescribe me the lowest dose of hormonal birth control pill. I do not recommend anybody to try this pill. I was just four days on it and I had to stop I got diarrhea since the second day until today. And I’m not even taking it last 5 days. My hair starts falling off a lot, I have so strong headaches that I never had before. Do not take this pill!!!"

"I was put on Gildess 4 months ago for birth control and I loved it. My period always came on time. It was always light and short. Then CVS switched me to Blisovi about a month and a half ago. I missed a period. I've been extremely emotional. And the worst part is, my body feels like it's falling apart. One day my hands hurt and I can't move them. The next couple days, my knee feels broken. Then when that pain goes away, my shoulder feels out of place. It's just never ending pain! I mean it works as a contraceptive obviously. But this pain has been unbearable. I wouldn't recommend this pill..."

"I have been on this pill for nine months now. At first, the worst side effect was major spotting even if I barely missed the time I’m suppose to take it by fifteen minutes. I also gained seven pounds the first three months. That weight must’ve been water retention because now I’ve lost that weight plus more. The only really bad side effect I have now are increased moments of sadness and anxiety. I also in the last two months have really started to suffer from vaginal dryness even when I want to have sex. I’m going off of this pill in two months because we are going to start trying for a baby. I’m beyond excited to go off and hope I get rid of the dryness because it really does effect my sex life. I’m 29 for reference."

"Please report these side effects properly. I also have side effects and am concerned that the FDA isn't able to track the data not reported to them. The FDA is responsible for ensuring that foods are safe, wholesome, and correctly labeled. It also oversees medicines, medical devices (from bandages to artificial hearts), blood products, vaccines, cosmetics, veterinary drugs, animal feed, etc. "

"I’ve been taking Blisovi for a month now, and I haven’t really had any negative things happen to me besides some weight gain (but that’s probably because I don’t exercise so whoops). The doctor said your body needs at least 3-4 months to adjust to the hormones though, so hopefully everything will go back to normal. Earlier on, I did experience a little bit of nausea, but it went away after the 3rd week. ALSO, it does do its job on protecting from pregnancy. I had an accident around the twelfth day of me taking birth control, and my doctor said to wait a month before having unprotected sex so I was super scared that I might’ve been pregnant. But then I got my period and was relieved. Definitely follow what your doctor says though so you don’t stress too much!! A bunch of sites say that you’re protected after 7 days of use, but for extra safety I’d wait until at least a month of using it. Overall though, Blisovi has been a good first time birth control for me."

"I have been taking Blisovi for 6 months and have had a great experience with the birth control so far. Luckily, I don't have any negative symptoms such as acne, depression or mood swings. Some symptoms I've experienced are shorter periods with less cramping, larger breasts and about a 5 pound weight gain (which isn't something to view as negative). My only personal thought or advice is to make sure you are treating your body like a queen...so eat healthy, exercise and don't misuse the birth control."

"I've been taking Blisovi fe 1/20 for just about 3 weeks now and I have been bleeding not spotting but bleeding some days heavy some not so heavy. So since the second week, so about 2 weeks now I've been bleeding. I haven't had any side effects really other then being a little moody and I think that's because of this annoying bleeding, I know it takes your body time to adjust to birth control but I've been on BC before and I've never gone through this. I've read all the reviews on this birth control and I haven't seen or read one good thing. I'm stopping this birth control and requesting something different."

"I've been on this BC for a little over a year now and have consistently had problems with it and never fully connected the dots until I did more research on the drug. As far as preventing pregnancy, it works great, but aside from that, it wasn't. I didn't gain weight like some people, but it's effected my personality pretty severely. I get so emotional about everything. I cry really easily and I hate being alone. I'm so clingy to my fiance, so much that whenever I have to go home (we live separately) I cry and cry when I'm at home without him. I get angry fast and I'm constantly irritated. I also get spotting a lot. If I take the pill even a few hours late, I get my period the next day, for like 3 days, even if I continued taking the pills."

"I have a Congenital Heart Defect I was born with, so my Dr. prescribed me Losetrin FE about 5 years ago. DUE TO my insurance change I had to switch to Blisovi FE 1/20 and let me tell you I Love it. I have no headaches, vomiting nothing. I took it 2 years straight and when I was trying to get pregnant I took a year off and it still took me about 10 months to get pregnant with my son he is 1 now and I started back taking my pills again 7 months ago. My acne has went away I have regular periods to the date I took my last pill. Little to no cramping and light periods that last 3-5 days. I would highly recommend this pill. I know everyone's body is different. But just from my experience I would highly recommend this pill."

"Thought I would share my experience of this BC. Prior to taking this, I was prescribed Larin FE. The dosing I needed was d/c from Larin, leaving my OB to prescribe me with Blisovi. I was a bit nervous prior to starting the new BC because of all the bad reviews and side effects associated with it on here. However, I have been taking Blisovi for about a month now and have experienced little to no side effects stated from other users. I had a small amount of acne and break outs appear but combatted them with some extra skin care for a few weeks. Along with some mild cramping, nothing serious. I figured seeing as though most happy customers don't post their experiences online, I would do so! I have not been on this medication as long as some other commenters, but have not experienced nearly any side effects in comparison!"

"I have had a shaky experience with this birth control. Positives: no weight gain, anxiety, depression, or pregnancy Negatives: if I forget to take a pill I will start to spot and start my period within 8-10 hours of forgetting and my cycle will be messed up the rest of the month. I also have drastically noticed a decrease in my sex drive. Mood swings and hormonal acne are definitely still there before I start my period. I’ve given this pill 6 months, time to try something new!"

"I was on the Blisovi Fe 1/20 pill to treat PCOS. This pill was awful. The pill made my face breakout out way more than usual, I had a lot of mood swings and I was sad a lot, also gave me horrible cramps. The only good thing about this pill was that it regulated my periods, other than that it was horrible."

"- 1.5 months since I started taking Blisovi - 28 years old - Last time on BC was 10-years ago due to horrifying side effects on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo (negative stars) - Week 1 on Blisovi: Nausea and weak - Week 2: on Blisovi: Extreme drowsiness and exhaustion - Week 3: on Blisovi: Large Appetite and cravings - Entire time on Blisovi: Mild acne, just a few pimples here and there - I’ve been very carefully watching my diet and trying to stay hydrated so be aware and cautious of the side effects to stay ahead of the weight gain and so forth - I have not lost or gained weight— for me that’s ok! - Most Negative Effect: Development of Melasma (darkening of skin spots on face) **If Melasma doesn’t get better, I will switch. I will update my review when I got 3-months."

"This was the worst experience with birth control I have ever had. It has made extremely emotional and depressed. I did notice myself, but it was made even more clear to me by those around me. Out of now where I’d have panic attacks and even emotional outburst, I’m emotional but this was to another level and extreme. I simply just cannot recommend this to anyone and I regret taking it myself. I will be switching birth controls within this month. One I will recommend is YAZ it was good but for someone who is small like myself maybe not so much because it has water retention"

"I’m on the 3 month of using this birth control and everything has been pretty good so far. My first month using Blisovi Fe I had light spotting for about a week but that is normal. After the first pack I have not had any more spotting. My periods are normally short for 4-5 days without birth control but using Blisovi Fe had mad my periods even shorter (about 3 days) also, it made my periods even lighter then normal which is a plus. Haven’t gotten pregnant so that’s good too!"

"This birth control is terrible. I've never had acne before in my life, and now after taking this for almost 2 months I have acne on my entire face, and also on my back. I have also gained 6 pounds, and this pill effects me emotionally very much. Since taking this pill I now have bad social anxiety, and constantly find myself tearing up for no reason at all. I am genuinely a happy person, and this birth control constantly has me feeling anxious or sad. Only positive of this is it has prevented pregnancy like it's main purpose. I am now switching to a new brand."

"After taking the 1st dosage, I happen to do research on the birth control pill and I read the reviews on this site. I was really scared to continue taking the birth control because of the reviews, but I'm happy that I continued. I am on week 3 of my 1st pack, and yo be honest, the only two things that I have experienced is very mild acne (and that was in the 1st week), and also after week 2, I began my period (taking the pill because of amenorrhea). I'm 36 years old and I've never had period cramps when I did have a regular period, but with this pill, I have mild cramps, and the flow is medium. My period usually lasts for 7 days, and I'm on day 5 just now starting with a medium flow after it's been really lite....so I'm not sure how long this will last. So far, no nausea or any sickness. I also have not gained weight. I'm generally a healthy eater so when hunger strike, I down some quinoa/kale and fruits and etc...."

"I switched to Blisovi after taking the same pill for 8 years. The first few months were fine, but around 4 months in I began experiencing mental health issues. I was anxious and nauseated 24/7, and would also get randomly depressed for no reason. I cried all the time and wanted to crawl out of my skin. I’ve dealt with some anxiety before, but nothing like this. Would not recommend this pill."

"IF YOU HAVE ANXIETY/DEPRESSION TO NOT TAKE BLISOVI FE 1/20!!! Seriously, I went into horrible mood swings and would constantly be at a low or a high. Irritability was so bad I couldn't be around anyone without going off on them. The boob soreness was constant and it made me have large amounts of acne. I also found an increased appetite on this and gained a total of 20 pounds! I just recently switched and my mood has gone back to how I was before.... it's absolutely insane what this did to me. Please take this into consideration as I don't wish this on anyone. Absolutely the worst 6 months, I thought I lost my mind."

"I have been on this birth control for 6-7 months now and it does what it's supposed to do. The first month met me with with severe, painful cramping for 48 hours straight with no relief, and I definitely had breakthrough bleeding in the first 2 months or so. After that, things have generally been smooth sailing, my period has been getting lighter and shorter in duration every cycle since then. No significant changes in mood or (facial) acne... though this cycle I have started getting acne on my back and butt which I never have experienced before. Sex drive has decreased, and haven't been able to get "wet" since the first month or so. But I still have been having plenty of sex regardless and am not pregnant, so it's doing it's job."

"This is my first experience with birth control and I was so worried because of all the negative reviews but I have had only a positive experience. My favorite thing is that my acne is gone! I haven't gained any weight or experienced any changes in my mood. My one complaint is that my periods are not yet regular. This is my third month so I expect them to get more regular after this month and I'm not worried!"

"This is the worst birth control. This is my first time on birth control and this is the prescription I got. This is the worst pill ever. I’ve been taking this for months and now and it’s completely changed my mood and I’ve been experiencing vaginal dryness which I have never had before. My fiancé came to me and said that our sex hasn’t been the same ever since I’ve been on this birth control and I don’t think anyone can imagine the embarrassment I felt. I just stopped taking this birth control and I pray my body will go back to normal. I definitely do not recommend."
