"I’ve been on this pill for about 1-2 years. During the first week, I was horribly nauseous and I broke out all over cheeks. HOWEVER, it got a lot better for me at least and I rarely get acne (although I didn’t take it for that and I didn’t have severe acne before starting it). I take anti-anxiety pills as well so if I do get sad, I don’t assume it’s due to my pill. It regulates my period and has helped with my cramps. I hope my review helps :)"

"6 months ago I was switched from Glidess to this. After switching I had absolutely no sex drive & was moody. 3 months after I started this medication I had gained 10 lbs (I work with a trainer & eat healthy) & started to become sick. I had horrible cramps with constipation or diarrhea & nausea every day. I went to see a specialist & was advised to take tests to see what was wrong (really expensive)! I finally made the connection that it could possibly be my birth control even though my pharmacist & doctor said there was 0 chance that was it. I stopped taking this pill & days later I was fine. No more cramping, diarrhea or constipation, nausea, and bloating. (I’m losing weight back to my “normal self”) My sex drive is back to normal too. I wrote this so others who have the same issue can be warned. I thought I had celiacs, a food allergy, or an intestinal issue, that’s how sick I was. This pill ruined my life for 6 months."

"I'm currently on my second month of Blisovi 1/20. I was honestly very worried to start this birth control because of how many people were saying it had a drastic change in their mood. However, so far I haven't experienced many side effects. Sometimes I'll wake up nauseous here and there, and sometimes it'll feel like I'm having PMS symptoms. I've had severe anxiety since I was 2 years old and I'm currently on 3 other medications for that. So far I've had no increase in anxiety or depression. I've also had very excruciating periods before taking Blisovi, to where I couldn't stand up straight or walk very much for the first day or 2. I was spotting for about a week after a few weeks of taking the pill, but ever since then I haven't actually gotten my period and have only had PMS symptoms which is like a cake walk compared to what I was dealing with before. I hope this helps!! (For reference, early 20's 130lbs)"

"This birth control is absolutely lovely. I take the 1/20 dose because I know higher doses can make people feel off. Anyway, the first month I took it I broke out in pimples, my breasts got tender but it all cleared with in 2 weeks. My periods started becoming irregular due to a hormonal imbalance. (No I do not have PCOS). But it regulated my period for the first month of use. Now I am on month 2 and I am still fine. Also, this pill has not made me gain weight. Coming from a woman taking this who currently has extra weight on her. I take control in what I am eating so that I don't gain weight. I haven't gained any weight, I've actually lost a few pounds. But that's because I am fairly active and I have a healthy diet. I do treat myself "

"At first it wasn’t too bad but by the second month I could immediately notice the side effects. I suffered a lot with anxiety and depression when I was going through puberty and had long since outgrown it but by the second month in this pill I literally felt like I was back in middle school. I’m a nervous wreck and sad at the same time all the time and it only gets worse the closer I get to my periods. What doesn’t help is that my periods are still fairly painful and last me almost the entire placebo week. I decided today that I’m not taking this pill anymore and am scheduling an appointment with my doctor to talk about starting a new one. Unless you are using it strictly as birth control I wouldn’t recommend this pill, even women with the strongest mental health seem to struggle emotionally while on this pill and it just isn’t worth it in my opinion."

"My insurance switched me to this pill from lo loestrin Fe. I had migraines the first few weeks and horrible cramps. My doctor said to just stick with it. It's been a few months and the migraines and cramps are gone but now worried about my lack of libido. I'm only 25."

"Three star because I did not experience any moodswings, depression, or weight gain like I have in the past using other birth control. It did cut my lubrication and it was very painful to have sex. I honestly did not want to believe it was the birth control that was causing dryness but once I stopped taking it I realized it was."

"So I understand that everyone has different experiences with birth control but I had some pros and cons. First off I started my Blisovi Fe 1/20 pill in October so this would make it my 3rd month on it and so they say it takes 3 months for birth control to start working. Here are my Pros : it kept my period on track. I knew when I was going to get it. Before I started I would have heavy and long periods with blisovi it kept it light and short. As well as my cramps they weren’t super painful as before. Cons: I’ve had anxiety for about 2 years and this pill has really took a toll on my mental health. I’ve had crazy panic attacks. My anxiety was super high. I felt like I was going into this stage where I wasn’t able to control my emotions at some point. I felt super depressed because of the way I was feeling I wouldn’t get out of bed and was sad because this wasn’t who I was. I think if you have any emotional issues this won’t be the pill for you."

"This was not a good option for me. I began taking Blisovi about 4 years ago because of my heavy periods. It stopped the heavy bleeding, but the side effects were horrible. For me, it took 3 years for me to really notice the side effects, and they seemed to get worse as time passed. I would get headaches about 2 days before and also 2 days after my cycle, along with severe anxiety, and just sad for no reason at all. I had no desire to have sex and I would get really irritable. After going through about 4 to 5 days of this..the symptoms would just go away, and then would repeat the same cycle of side effects the following month. I spoke with my doctor about this, and he’s taken me off. This was my experience, everyone is different and for some this could be your resolution, for me..it just didn’t do it."

"This was my first time on birth control (Blisovi FE)and I am taking it for painful cramps. The first month I had no side effects besides a random week of spotting which I heard was common. My period was shorter, lighter, and had limited cramping which really saved my life. I no longer dread my period. I used to have to stay home from work because the cramps were so bad before this pill. During my second month I had sore boobs and that was it. I do have a bigger appetite but no weight gain since my metabolism is pretty fast. No mood changes. This pill has worked really well for me so far as my first time on BC but remember that everyone reacts differently :)"

"Ok, so I’ve been on blisovi fe for about a year and some change now. Never experienced so much anxiety in my life. Every day I would wake up anxious, stomach issues, etc. I finally came to the realization I’m not the only one who has felt this. I stopped a few days ago and I’m feeling mentally better. I didn’t experience any weight gain, nausea, acne or anything other anxiety. This bc may not be right for everyone. I would have stayed on if it wasn’t for the increase anxiety."

"I’ve been on this contraceptive for a little over a year now & this birth control has been so good for me!! Cleared my skin, hasn’t affected my sex drive at all, I had bad anxiety but it low key went away. I have no depression. No weight gain. The only thing is I don’t really have a normal period anymore, I might bleed for one or two days but besides that I never really bleed at all. (kinda scary if you’re active). One thing I have noticed though is with the breasts. They randomly get super sore & nipples swell a little and itch but I think it’s just because of the hormones. They go right back after a few days. Definitely recommend. Also has done a good job of protecting me from pregnancy. Don’t listen to the bad reviews! This is definitely a good start if it’s your first time on BC. Remember, everyone reacts differently!"

"I started taking this birth control about two weeks ago, and let me tell you the side effects hit IMMEDIATELY! I have never dealt with anxiety, panic attacks or depression and and the second I started taking this I started getting them! I would get so anxious to the point where I would throw up! Mind you I’ve been on the pill before, I’ve had the injection and an implant and while every form of birth control has its side affects, it was NOTHING like this one. Please do not even consider taking this."

"Horrible. I was switched to this to have a lower dosage since the other pill was higher. Into the first pack, I was getting severe symptoms like muscle tension, heartburn, nerve issues, and the worst anxiety ever."

"This is my first time on BC & before this pill I had intolerable cramping at all times of the month in addition to very heavy bleeding when I was on my period. My periods controlled my life and made it so I couldn't function half the time due to cramps, nasuea, & fatigue. Now on this pill my periods are so much lighter and less painful. Even on my worst days I can still function, as opposed to being bedridden 5-8 days a month like I was before. Don't let the bad reviews intimidate you, birth control has a different effect on everybody! Blisovi worked very well for me!"

"I have been on Blisovi Fe 1/20 for the last two months and I have not had any issues. Face is clear (and I break out of acne bad too), my menstrual is regular (I have had irregular menstrual since the first time I got it at 11 years old, I am 32 now). It has only been two months, so we have time to continue to tell, but after reading other reviews, I couldn't relate. I also have lost weight which is a plus for me. Not sure if my weight loss is connected with the BC but I am healthy and have had no issues."

"Obviously with birth control pills you need to find one that's right for you so what's right for some might not work for everyone. That being said, don't be scared off by a lot of the negative reviews. I got on Blisovi Fe 1/20 to skip my period and it does the job nicely. Aside from spotting in the first month, I've been period-free. I've been on another pill before, I don't remember what it was called but I have never experienced any negative symptoms with that one or this pill either. No break-outs, no weight-gain, no extra hair in odd places, and I haven't gotten pregnant either. Aside from not having a period, literally nothing has changed for me."

"Well I've been on this pill for maybe a week now and I've had absolutely no symptoms, maybe more sensitive breasts but thats just about this. Of course I should give it a couple months but I wanted to post this because I came on here to see how this bc would work and I was so scared but once I tried it I had no side effects at all! I encourage you to try it at least a month and see how you like it. I was put on the pill because I had been on my period 25 days so not for baby prevention but thats a plus!"

"This is my first time taking any form of birth control. I’ve been on this pill for about 5 days, and I’m feeling fine. The first day, I did experience some slight nausea, but it went away after around ten minutes. I don’t get anymore of it (for now at least)! I haven’t noticed any side effects so far except for my period already starting to be a lot lighter. No acne, mood swings, weight gain, or anything so far. I’ll keep you guys updated next month :)"

"DO NOT TAKE THIS PILL! Believe every negative side effect. Paranoia, extreme anger, acne, severe cramping, fluctuate between no sleep to extreme fatigue. The list goes on. It’s awful. Worst experience of my life."

"This pill is the worst. I was switched from Vienva to Blisovi about two months ago. The first period I had on it lasted maybe 2 days and was very light. I didn’t even have another period this month so I’ve been stressing that I’m pregnant but I’ve taken many tests and they’re all negative. Between last month and this month I had mysterious bleeding for about a week, I feel nauseous most of the time, extremely fatigued, depressed and I’ve noticed my anxiety has gotten worse. I had it before but I felt like I was getting better especially socially but it’s just getting worse now. I’ve lost interest in a lot of things because I have no energy no matter how much I sleep. My acne has gotten worse on the lower half of my face near my mouth and chin. I’m going to switch back to vienva soon so hopefully I will feel better. I’m not myself. I strongly think it is this pill."

"I have been taking this for a little over a year. I got on this pill to lessen my bleeding and cramps. For that purpose it is great and I still have normal periods that are not too heavy and cramps but in the past year I have gained almost 30 pounds and I work out 5 times a week for multiple hours each time and eat a normal diet. I haven’t changed anything since I started taking it but now I’m going to have to find new birth control and work out and diet to lose all of this excess weight. I do not recommend Blisovi Fe 1/20 I have 100% resented my body due to this medication 130-155lbs in 13 months"

"Before I started the Blisovi Fe 1/20 pill I read the reviews and was scared to take it because there are so many bad reviews. Everyone is different so I understand what works for one, might not work for another. This was my very first time taking birth control of any kind. I decided to try it because my ovulation, PMDD, and period were absolutely unbearable. I took Blisovi Fe and was pleased to not feel any side effects. After just one month I had great relief, no PMS/PMDD pain or sharp stabbing pains during my withdrawal bleeding (4th week) of the pill pack."

"I have not had a good experience with this Bc pill. I took it for one month & I felt horrible. My side effects were nausea migraines, constant hunger, depression, bloated, brain fog, and many more awful feelings. I can’t believe people are allowed to prescribe this to females. I get that everyone is different with different medicine but after reading some reviews it seems like a lot of ladies are having the same results as I am. Do not take this unless you have taken this before and have had no problems.."

"I was on Junel FE 1/20 for three years and didn't have a problem. My insurance company decided to switch my generic up and give me Blisovi FE 1/20. I didn't think anything of it because it's the same drug. I've been on the Blisovi 1.5 years and have had a terrible time, but just now realizing it's this medication. It's made with talc and aluminum. I'm having neuromuscular aches and pains, a sign of aluminum toxicity, have had zero sex drive, and had more anxiety and mood swings. I finally got my insurance to put me back on Junel FE 1/20 three months ago, and all my problems went away within the first month. Don't waste your time on Blisovi. Tell your doctor and insurance company to get you on a different generic with no talc and aluminum."
