"While everyone reacts to birth control differently, I had an awful experience with Blisovi Fe 1/20. I started breaking out with acne on my face, chest, and back about 3 weeks in after not dealing with bad acne for years. Though the acne was annoying, the worst part of this medication was what it did to my mood. I got depressed, moody, and extremely paranoid. I have been on 2 other types of birth control before this and neither effected my mood anywhere close to what Blisovi did to me. I have been off this pill for about 6 weeks and am returning to my normal self. While you may not have the same experience as me, please be aware that this pill can and does cause extreme mood changes and depression as well as acne!"

"Do not take this pill, after 2 months I am changing due to weight gain, anger, mood swings, extreme exhaustion to the point where I can't stay awake past 9pm. I do not feel like myself, I have awful anxiety that I have never had before, the exhaustion is to the point where getting through the day has become an issue."

"I find this birth control good. You’re going to have side effects with every medication you’re just going to have to get over it. I have been on this birth control for 4 or 5 years now and I love it. After about a year or two my periods have stopped completely. I do have low sex drive but oh well just another way the birth control works is how I think of it. It will take time for your body to adjust. I recommend if there are a few side effect in the begining to just see if they stick around. It will take any birth control 6 months to a year to get used to your body. It’s free with my insurance."

"Been taking Blisovi Fe for about a month and I noticed after the first 2 days of taking it that it increased my appetite like I always wanted to eat was never full. Then after a week of taking it I noticed that I had diarrhea at least 3 times a day and that alone drained me. All of the little energy I did have the longer I took it the more the energy disappeared. I realized that it wasn’t the food I’d been eating it was the birth control. Then I started feeling sickkkkkk to my stomach the worst stomach aches EVER in my upper abdomen, lost sleep I wouldn’t recommend this birth control to my worst enemy I have a 3 year old and a 9 month old that I have to take care of and on top of the Diarrhea loss of sleep at night and the severe stomach pain I’ve decided to discontinue using this birth control it’s not worth my health."

"I was on Junel Fe and my insurance changed and I’m on blisovi Fe and it’s the same pill but generic. I love it! I used to have really bad cramps were I would have to go home from school or work and take a hot bath for hours. If I didn’t take an Advil as soon as I got my period I was in for a horrible day. When I started this birth control I get light cramps that are tolerable and I don’t need to take Advil it have a heating pad. I only have my period for 2 or 3 days and then it’s done."

"I was put on this medicine for extreme cramping and heavy periods. I can say that this particular BC has been helpful in making my pain less severe and lightening my periods ! On the other hand I absolutely HATE the side effects. It makes me so moody and depressed and just not myself. I end up getting headaches once a week and all I want to do is sleep. It seems like my appetite fluctuates a lot more now than it used too. It seems like my PMS has gotten way worse on this medication. I’ve been on it for about 10 months so it’s not just settling into the hormones."

"I have been on this pill since April of last year, it is now November 2019. Six months ago I experienced a dramatic change in my weight. I walked around with a feeling of being bloated even without eating a meal. Nothing had changed in my life concerning my diet. I eliminated eating meats to see if that would help me lose a few pounds. That didn’t help as much as I wanted because the weight stayed and the feeling of being bloated was still there. I did a self evaluation and realized the only thing I take daily is my birth control pill. I looked up reviews to see similar experiences and that immediately made me reach out to my doctor."

"At first it made my sex drive non-existent... but after a while of taking it I feel back to normal, if not better! Honestly, it has made me happier and more energized. The pharmacy tried to change me to another one today... no way. My sister also takes this one and loves it too. I recommend it to my friends looking to start a lower dose pill. Most reviews are negative, but remember ladies, everybody is different, reactions are different. If it doesn't work for you, change it to one that will."

"Ive been taking this for almost 3 months (on my last week from the 3rd month) and I have NOT had my period yet. 1st month I mean I didn’t really get the side effects, my cramps and headaches were a bit more bad than before but nothing too bad. Sex drive is still the same, love having sex. But no period slight spotting for 2-3 days that’s it. Second month no period at all same cramps and headache and a bit of diarrhea (very uncomfortable). On my 3rd month sticking with it because of doctors recommendation. If I don’t get my period this month I may switch because not getting my period freaks me out lol. I have taken other birth control pills (when I was 18 so I forgot the name) but I did not have these effects I got my period the second month it was very light but it was there lol. I may stick around for the 4th month to see if I’ll feel better but so far I’m not really happy about this pill"

"I have been healthy all my life until I started this pill. I'm 20 and in perfect health. One day my arm randomly turned purple and became weak and numb, this continues for a couple days. After the second day i went to the hospital where they told me it was all in my head even though my left arm was twice the size of my right. My primary care doctor referred me to a very good cardiovascular surgeon who found a blood clot. A week or so later my lips had begun to swell along with my tongue and throat. After one more test and a visit to a neuro doctor I found out I now had two blood clots one in my neck. This doctor connected it all to this pill. It happens that I'm that 1 in a thousand, 20 years old and in perfect health this pill would have slowly killed me if I would have listened to that first hospital or never would have done anything at all. I warn everyone be careful because I would hate for this pill to ruin anyone elses health in the ways it has mine."

"I had been on Microgestin previously with absolutely no problems. I loved it, but all of a sudden it wasn't free anymore and that's when my insurance told me I would have to keep paying for it or switch to a new generic -- Blisovi. I switched thinking they were one in the same. WRONG. First off, I got very itchy. It made my skin very sensitive and I started breaking out in a rash towards the end of the first week. I also noticed it was heightening my anxiety, it made me very erratic and aggressive. It also made my vision blurry. After ruling out other things, I stopped taking it on a hunch and immediately everything went back to normal. I don't care if I have to pay, I'm going back to Microgestin. Blisovi is HORRIBLE."

"Headaches. Back pain. Nausea. Cramps. Periods heavier and longer than without it. Heavy spotting a week or two after my period. Absolutely horrible. Ratings are 3/10 everywhere. Unsure why it's still being prescribed if so many woman suffer symptoms."

"Ok, so I started this pill September of this year It Dec 24 - almost Christmas and I am total not feeling the Christmas spirit. This pill has made me gain incredible amount of weight, my breast hurt like anything to touch, period has been 2 weeks on (I was taking this to regulate my period), I feel tired, I do not want to hang out or be seen by anyone. I am in my room 24/7. I really want to stop this pill"

"The pharmacy switched me to this pill because they didn’t have the other one at the time. The first month was fine but then I started to have all sorts of side effects which at first I didn’t associate with the pill: loss of sex drive, vaginal dryness, loss of hair, no periods at all, hot flashes, sleep issues. At first I thought I was going to menopause at 37 years old!!! But I decided to stop. It has been a month and the symptoms have all gone away. I was also having joint pain which I didn’t think were related to this and it has gone away too. If a pill can have all these side effects it is definitely not worth the benefits. I would highly recommend to use something else."

"The pharmacy filled my birth control prescription with Blisovi without telling me that they switched me from my normal BC (Larin), and I've had nothing but problems!! I've been so moody since starting it, I'm breaking out with more pimples than I ever had before, and I've had a period every other week for the past 2 months! My periods have always been normal, so getting 2 in a month worried me but I let it go as I was stressed. The next 2 weeks I got a 3rd one so I called my gyno and went in for an appointment. I've had other kinds of pills before, and none have been as bad as this one. The worst thing is that they couldn't put me back on Larin until I finished the 3rd month of this because I got a 3 month prescription when I got it filled! I can't WAIT to get back to my old prescription because this is just horrible! I've been fatigued extra the past few weeks as well likely because I'm already anemic and losing extra blood on these extra periods isn't helping."

"The first four months on this pill had me spotting for the majority of the time. I was really moody all the time and would cry over any little thing. As months went by, my periods got shorter and lighter, but I developed extreme anxiety. The anxiety turned into depression and I didn’t feel like doing anything all the time. After 8 months, I stopped this pill and I’m going to be taking Gianvi. Hopefully I will start to feel like my normal self again, but I do not recommend taking this pill. If you start getting depressed and anxious out of nowhere, blame this pill!"

"Worst birth control ever. My pharmacy randomly switched me to this 6 months ago after I had been on Microgestin for 2 1/2 years. Since being on Blisovi, I have gained 10 lbs, fainted twice, have horrible headaches and dizzy spells, nauseous constantly, no appetite, very sad, and get angry very easily. I also have barely any sex drive whatsoever. I barely have energy to want to do anything. I could sleep all day if I let myself. I've never felt so horrible in my entire life. After getting sick of gaining weight and fainting, I am finally stopping the pill. It is not worth it. BC is literal poison to the body. This brand just happens to be the worst one."

"Honestly, my experience has been great. I've had close to no side effects. I take the pill at 5pm and eat dinner shortly after to prevent nausea. Occasionally I'll feel a wave, but I'll just eat something, drink tea, or go to bed and all is well. I am purposely skipping my period by consistently taking this and have had no spotting, although I felt cramps on a couple days during when it was supposed to be. Other than that, it's been great! Will update if need be in a couple months."

"This is the worst BC to exist. I was on ortho for about 7 months and it was perfect, my terrible acne cleared up and I didn’t notice any other changes until I had a 23 day long period and started breaking out badly again. I stopped taking it and wasn’t on any sort of BC for about 3 months. My gyno put me on Blisovi in the beginning of March but I was afraid to take it due to the terrible reviews. I started taking it early April and by the 3rd week my acne had tripled, even going to my back, neck, etc. I had feelings of depression that I have never even felt before and cried more in those 3 weeks than I ever had before. I gave it another week to finish my cycle and had the worst cramps and heaviest period I’ve had. I haven’t been on BC in 4 months bc it was so terrible. Good luck ladies"

"I've been taking Blisovi Fe 1/20 for 5 days. I used to take Lo loestrin years ago, now that I started birth control again my doctor prescribed me Blisovi. The first day was good no side effects. The second day I felt a little tired and did not have an appetite. The third day, Sunday, I felt horrible. I had a very bad migraine, was nauseous, threw up I felt horrible. On Monday I felt a bit better, I was still nauseous, did not have an appetite, but the headache was gone. Today, day five, I feel better, I still feel very tired but no nausea and my appetite is back."

"My 13 year old daughter took Blisovi because she doesn't get periods for more than 3 months and as soon as she takes it at bedtime she feels her chest hurting. She is the sweetest person and she was so grumpy irritated and could not sleep. Her summer was so hard. She would cry for no reason and could not stop. If she missed a pill she would get a period. I will make sure that she stops Blisovi Fe I/20 and I'm taking her to the heart doctor to make sure it didn't cause any damages to her."

"I’ve been taking this birth control for about 6 months now & this is the first birth control I’ve ever been prescribed, & it has been a nightmare. I found myself to be extremely emotional & depressed with very random mood swings. I also have spotting almost every month about 2 weeks into each pack."

"Don't take Blisovi Fe 1/20, just don't do it, seriously it's not worth it. I was on this for TWO DAYS. Keep in mind, I have absolutely NO PRIOR HISTORY OF DEPRESSION OR ANXIETY!!!! I took this pill on Sunday night. I woke up Monday with the worst depression I've ever had, to the point where I thought I was going to do something harmful to myself. I took it again Monday night, and woke up Tuesday in the GREATEST MOOD... annnddd then it crashed BAD. Today was my first day off of it, and I am a depressed and anxious MESS. I hope that I return to normal. Don't take this. Seriously. I'm only 18 and I feel like I've completely hit rock bottom."
